We needed a lot more training data and the way we approached this is by building a distributed network of people around the world who were working with us and we had a challenge paying them. Crypto journey started from like hey we need to solve our own problem to actually build our AI startup and there's nothing on the market this 2018 that actually would be fast, cheap, predictable, easy to use. We focused on solving that problem as near protocol.

And so Near Protocol started as this highly scalable, easy to use blockchain to really solve from microp payments, loyalty points, microtransactions, all of the different financial use cases.
