About this video

Shai from the NEAR Foundation shares an inside look at the "Agents Without Masters" hackathon in Berlin, where over 60 participants formed 15 teams to build real-world applications on NEAR’s tech stack. This wasn’t just another hackathon.

Builders were encouraged to experiment with cutting-edge tools like Chain Signatures, NEAR Intents, and Shade Agents, while also focusing on long-term usability, wallet creation, and composable architecture. The goal? Create apps that others can build on—like Lego blocks—setting the standard for the ecosystem moving forward.

Uh, Shai here from the Near Foundation. Very excited to be coming to you from the Web3 Hub in Berlin. It's been an awesome day. We're at about 12:30 in the evening. We still have a whole bunch of people here hacking away. We had 60 people about break up into 15 teams building the real world products, building solutions on top of Near's tech. Uh, and everybody's super excited.

  2. 0:24

Uh, we started off the day by challenging them to think about this as much more than just a hackathon. Think about this as an opportunity to build the art of the possible on the near ecosystem. Laying down some of the foundational tech that many builders are going to build upon for years to come.

  3. 0:38

Some of the things that we wanted our builders to think about as they're going through this hackathon is real world near integration. So things like read receipts, uh, chain signatures, near intense. We wanted our builders to think through what their opportunity was and how the tech can help them build out their products. We've seen some really cool ideas from builders throughout the day and we wanted to give them some guidelines on what makes a good product

or a good project within the near ecosystem. We wanted them to focus on that integration of the tech near shade agents, chain signatures, near intents. We we challenged them to think through meaningful onchain uh transactions, meaningful onchain wallet creations. We want to drive meaningful wallet usage within the deer ecosystem as well.

  5. 1:23

We wanted them to think about their off-chain architecture as well and ensure that they're following software development life cycle best practices, their CI/CD pipeline best practices and documentation and uh code comments and best practices as well. Ultimately, our goal is to help build on on each other's solutions. And as builders, we have to set a good standard for each other and help each other be able to onboard into

our solutions and build them just like Lego blocks together. Our mission is to help the builders be successful and be strong. And that's why the founder success team as well as well as the rest of the near ecosystem is here to help builders be successful and build out their product. Again, it's been an awesome night. I'm super excited. Uh and can't wait to see what comes out of this event tomorrow morning just a couple hours away.
