Good morning, Legion. A couple of Near Ecosystem updates to start. A new research paper dropped looking at how LLM API routers handle traffic between AI agents and model providers. Researchers found multiple routers injecting malicious code into tool calls and stealing credentials, including one that drained a wallet.

Their conclusion is that the only real fix is cryptographically signed responses from the inference provider, and they note that no major provider offers this today. Near AI Cloud approaches this differently. inference runs inside hardware tees tls terminates inside the secure enclave and every response is cryptographically signed before it leaves you can check attestation reports yourself through the verification api and as ilia put it quote if your inference provider doesn't give you hardware at

It's undergoing a number of upgrades. Be on the lookout for Ironclaw in the future. Also from within the Near ecosystem, the Ironclaw Reddit is now live.

Covenant AI announced it's leaving BitTensor, calling the network's governance Decentralization Theater. Have you ever heard of AutoSwap? Founder Sam Dare accused BitTensor's Jacob Steeves of maintaining unilateral control, suspending subnet emissions, and applying economic pressure through token sales.

Steeves denied the allegations, but TAO still dropped 18%, and sell volume hits its highest since December 2024, about a day before the announcement went public. Last but not least, more in the generic AI space, Anthropic is exploring designing its own AI chips.

Plans are early, no dedicated team exists yet, and they may still decide to only buy from partners. Their run rate revenue is now past $30 billion, up from $9 billion at the end of 2025, and they just signed a long-term deal with Google and Broadcom for TPU access starting in 2027.

Meta and OpenAI are reportedly moving in the same direction. That's it for today. Verifiable inference and client-side security are where Ironclaw and NearEye Cloud are building, and stories like this week's router research shows exactly why.

See you on the next one. We'll do this real soon.
