thank you everybody for being here uh that's participating everybody that's watching um we are kicking off a monthly uh near ecosystem infrastructure updates call uh this call is both streamed live on YouTube for discoverability later and anybody that's interested in watching but it's also open to anybody to join as well uh on Zoom um if you want to get involved provide direct feedback we want to make sure that we continue our um you know our mission in transparency to
- 0:25
ensure that everybody is aware of what's like what the priorities are uh going into the year um you know what's needed with the state of infrastructure uh on on near in the ecosystem and we also want to get our uh projects and and developers involved as well so we have some wonderful people here today um let me go ahead and share the deck that are going to present um and I'll go over the agenda as well so this is going to kick
- 0:50
off like I said every month first uh first Tuesday uh same time is what we're aiming for just a a note we may or may not go forward with the January call because again it's and everybody's just going to be getting back from holidays um so we'll see how we stand there uh but we have like I said some wonderful people presenting today um we're going to segue into Conrad and Eric right after this uh with an opening um you know Vic is leading the in uh Eco infro
- 1:15
working group uh he'll provide some updates around that uh we'll see some thematic updates from some partner teams um Vic and Conrad will dive into priorities uh primarily q1 to start uh going into 2024 and then we want this to be an open session like we said just in the interest of time we'll go ahead and get through the agenda if you did have any feedback or questions throughout the call um just maybe make a note of them
- 1:39
and then at the end we'll go ahead and open things up um we want to hear on you know from you on like the priorities uh what the sentiment there is um you know what Focus items should be directly from the people that are that are building you know on near and then the call to action at the end is we have an NPS survey a very short brief survey um that where we want to hear from you on the the current state of the ecosystem support what's needed what you'd like to
- 2:04
see um so without further Ado I'll go ahead and kick things over to Conrad and Eric if he's here uh to get into it hi everyone my name is Conrad I work as head of blockchain success at the near Foundation I believe that Eric um winner who is the C of pagoda is not with us he's traveling today but we have fat who can step in and and provide some some opening notes uh from from the Pagoda side so why we're having this call guys so first of all thank you for
- 2:37
joining this call this is the first uh call that we want to schedule monthly the purpose of this call is to discuss the state of the infra so you remember in September Ilia um shared with us his vision that he wants to make out of near the place where the best Founders come to build the open web to build web 3 and in order to do it we're going to focus on on uh three pieces one is founder success the other is ecosystem success and the third one is Market success and
- 3:07
the part of the ecosystem success uh we uh kicked off an ecosystem infrastructure working group to uh identify the ecosystem infrastructure gaps but also uh to work collaboratively with the ecosystem members with different nodes with different companies that are building on a new technology to improve the infra so uh what we're going to discuss during this calls uh so we're going to provide you uh regular updates uh what different
- 3:38
teams are working on uh in terms of improving the state of the infrastructure but also we want to facilitate the discussion uh with different community members with different uh companies that are um actively building on near um to gather feedback and and and to to to share some thoughts and ideas so let's uh please treat this as a conversation we're going to have enough time at the end to do a proper Q&A session I'm sure that there has been plenty of interesting developments especially over the past
- 4:10
weekend uh that we can also uh quickly discuss during this call so so that's all from me uh I'm going to hand over to Fat who's going to share his perspective from the from the Pagoda site hey everyone nice to be here my name is fat I am part of pagota and engineering manager Pagoda um and I'm very happy to be part of this working stream of from our side what we're trying to contribute to this working stream is um help infrastructure
- 4:41
projects understand the needs from the infrastructure from a technical standpoint provide guidance provide Open Standards collaborate on these Open Standards see the gaps and help projects um get over these gaps how can we do this we can we're looking to provide standards Library standard libraries or Standard specs help um on the Open Standards again um and help the projects to be more
- 5:12
successful thank you fat so we have a pretty packed agenda so let's go through the updates very quickly to carve out enough time for the discussion and Q&A I'm handing over to vikas who's been uh leading the ecosystem working group that we kicked off uh in October because yeah thanks Conrad GM everyone so like what we heard from Conrad and fat we have been working uh on this Initiative for almost two months now uh the idea is
- 5:42
to make it a very ecosystem approach where we engage with all our uh ecosystem noes but also our partners who are contributing to the decentralization and the open web initiative at near some of these examples are we are working very closely with Banyan with k Aurora team Pagoda indeed fat is representing today but we are also working with our top Partners like uh Min base spth uh devhub and and more
- 6:12
that you'll hear today uh the idea was to you know there was a lot of defragmentation around all these initiatives that we had around five themes we call it and that's something we'll hear later the First theme was around wallets the second was around explorers the third was around indexers then we had RPC and then we had uh some of these standards and the devhub open initiative so today we are going to look at one of all of these one one after the other how we picked up each of these
- 6:41
themes how we set our goals and how did the ecosystem including near foundation and Pagoda helped in achieving some of these goals in terms of bringing all the parties together but also creating a more unified ecosystem around it so that we are not duplicating stuff or duplicating efforts as we call it and look at uh taking near ecosystem together to the next stage in terms of
- 7:05
better performance better availability better developer and US user experiences so without Much Ado around that I would also you know like to invite our first uh thematic uh partner in this case which is uh uh the wallet working group and on the wallets uh Jonathan can speak about the current status of uh the wallet ecosystem and also mbased team how they're contributing to it I'll uh I
- 7:36
let let Jonathan take over from here I think he has some slides to share Marcus if you can please help thanks Vias yeah I'll attempt to share the screen now awesome Yep uh just stop sharing mine you should be able to share yours and perfect can you guys see it yep perfect great um yeah just want to um thank everyone for you know your attention and opportunity to share these insights into the current landscape of wallet um I think specific shout out to Vic and Anton um the guys from NF have been really supportive over the past
- 8:10
couple of weeks and just coming alongside us and uh we're experiencing that sort of collaborative process um going to be joined by Edward as well who also just uh we'll try to keep it short within three minutes just to speed through uh what we seen in terms of Wallets on the near e system so just to give you brief context on who we are um we started actually as an nft collect fb22 uh you know eight months later after a pivot from an nft Launchpad and
- 8:34
a grant from the near Foundation we released our meteor um V1 which was a web and Chrome extension wallet a few months later we were awarded um the maintainership of my near wallet uh and to date you know we stand as one of the the leading wallet teams on year um uh that is basically a trillion native wallet uh that believes we were Beyond a wallet and trying to kind of um leverage near unique
- 8:56
capabilities so how we've um we currently view the wallet landscape is um I would say the transfer wizard given kind of the whole shift of uh the wallet being sunsetted is probably the most objective um data point that we've got um was fortunate to enough to get yes um conversion insights up to the yesterday's data and um you know there are wallets that don't um that are not included here like mint Bas and near Mobile but for the most part this is the data that we've been able to look at to just understand what are the the the
- 9:27
wallet choices and preferences with wallets so we a massive um shift to to my new wallet is just kind of that relatable similar experience as as kind of the original wallet uh us and here wallet and some of the other ones following through from there when we take a look at um how we see kind of um wallet Innovation on near we see it kind of broken down into uh these themes um Key Management uh you
- 9:49
know no no wallet or do anything there that's more fast or multi and smart contract no wallets really do anything there at the moment um Pass Key we see mint base um uh play playing a role there key rotation meter wallet uh we allow users to rotate private keys there um transaction signing and Publishing there uh when it comes to gases transactions we've seen here wallet do it with um usdc meta transactions uh on meteor wallets we've got kind of an on onchain points loow system where we're
- 10:15
also using meta transactions um and then when it comes to ux improvements um we see um mint base as well as ourselves um sort of abstracting way a bit of that process with the one click on board and experience and um we see here while doing some interesting things as well kind of with their sending links to um to non-crypto users to onboard them there um and then just just a brief overview in terms of some of the wallet Builder Community efforts um you know
- 10:40
onboard da is a recent sort of initiative um you know which is a collective of um wallet teams onboarding info um people um that's really focused on onboarding retention Innovation within near and um we currently manag a couple of working groups and we've you know been approved a fund from NDC NDC um to to start to facilitate bit of an innovation fund and to help essentially just um innovate in terms of everything related to onboarding we also have
- 11:06
current discussions around you know wallet selector enhancements kind of what's happening with the wallet page after sunsets uh things like SP token Registries and things like that from of Edward thanks Jonathan so I think we're catching short on time but I'm going to go through as quick as possible I think there are currently couple of challenges we are facing among wall Builders the first one is lack of reliable indexes a
- 11:29
key thing here is actually majority of the wallets are currently reliant on K kit wallet API which is maintained by Pagoda not so actively but will be pH out pretty soon right now meteor wallet minor wallet official near wallet Center wallet and nightly wallets to a certain exent are relied on that so in the past couple of days we have experienced an issue on the indexer and most of the wallets are down in a way that users
- 11:52
cannot import their newly created wallet which is pretty serious and there are like different use cases for indexes when it comes to wallets like account import staking account balance so it is very ESS essential for us to actually have a wallet specific IND indexer ideally more than one currently met is working very closely with NE blogs to create a few more end points but ultimately we're going to create our own indexer which is going to be ready on January and we want to make it as a public good so that we have another
- 12:26
party coming in providing a reliable indexer for the second issue is actually surrounding Communications there are three aspects of that first is NP and core updates like so bound token optimistic transaction signing RPC updates and Etc then there's dependencies update recently there's an update in near API JS which break a lot of Wallets on near near. the boss so a lot of in injected
- 12:52
wallets like met wallets and sender wallets just gone down because users cannot sign transactions due to an update independencies then the third thing is actually surrounding um key Integrations like for example link drop so bound token cero or if even the recent need there are some disputes but if that's something that the ecosystem want to support I think it's very important to establish such communication channels before this banam was taking charge on wab build group
- 13:22
upcoming hopefully the onboarding do can take over and make better effort the last thing about appication channel is that we need to maintain a common standard recently there are a lot more fishing and scamming tokens a lot of users are impacted and lose their own funds so we need a leas that can be used by different wallet and it needs to be curated and managed by a common working game so the next slide I'll be talking
- 13:46
about like a quick update about what we've done during nearon it's one click on boarding missions and rewards so by that we have redefined users Journey enabling them to on board just with one click literally just one click and after that we progressively enable them to set their password um and then save their key sit phrase as well so essentially to us the success is not just about onboarding wallets also want to make
- 14:11
sure we guide users deep into the ecosystems so key metrix for us is how many deps we actually introduce users to and that's true missions and in order to retain these users and actively engage with them we also have the challenge and reward so here if any of the projects want to get closer to the users feel free to reach out we are more than happy to actually include different dep into our Challenge and Mission sections so
- 14:36
the last part would be about our upcoming root map we going to get Ledger support done by this month public indexer which is going to be a public goods will be ready by January which is next month then we'll have complete gasless transaction support that is more Dynamic and we can just config like whatever smart contract want to support it will be gasless immediately at least for for me p and then um upcoming with met V2 which
- 15:02
is completely crossplatform browser extensions Android and iOS the last thing will be simplified def5 products by Q2 2024 then there are things to explore the reason they are to be explored because there are certain dependencies on near core RPC or maybe NEP so first is smart contract account which is kind of reliant on global storage but we can explore it first then that's a aggregation that's TX broadcast
- 15:27
improvements which can help us to cut down 50% of transaction times which is a huge improvements on user experience and the last thing will be meteor as a boss Gateway so that's the update from Meo side thank you thanks everyone sorry sorry for being a bit over time and if anyone can contribute to the story or give feedback we appreciate it thanks everyone yeah I'll also let uh micro talk a bit from uh the Min based
- 15:51
Initiative for the ecosystem on this theme yes for sure uh hi everyone so first of all I want to just appreciate the fact that you guys brought like a very nice presentation in summary of the wallet ecosystem so thank you me to your team um other than that yeah I mean mint base has been around for for a while um we've been nft platform mostly in the marketplace and like over the past two
- 16:17
years we also developed like a lot of tooling for developers uh because our goal was like facilitate like developers to be on boarded to to the nft ecosystem on year uh but while we were building uh things ourselves and like we were seeing other developers build stuff we noticed that uh we were missing like very good onboarding experience on year and like we we needed this sort of stuff so we built uh what we needed ourselves um a
- 16:42
couple of months ago uh especially some of you might know like the Mina activation that's something we've been we've been pushing hard um and one of the problems I noticed is that not a lot of people have uh crypto or like want in even in conferences like crypto conferences people don't really carry wallets themselves like don't they don't really have access to these funds so we we kind of made a wallet to fix some of these problems let's say creating an
- 17:07
account um then for any transaction you would need near so we kind of like Leverage meta transactions there to like sponsor our users transactions uh we let users create accounts for free so that kind of like fixes the onboarding issue we we were talking about and now we're we're looking into leverage a bit of AI to like use function calls to transform natural language into spe specific onchain transactions um this is X you can you
- 17:32
can try it out today on ai. np. XYZ but the goal is to have this unified experience um on the wallet as well so for our future what we want to want to do next is like Future parody with other wallets I mean uh our wallet is is good for onboarding users but then we lack some some some other features like transferring fungible tokens uh right now we just just allow like users to
- 17:57
transfer year um then we want to extend capability other capabilities like um seeing your nftd portfolio in the wallet not outside of the wallet um and maybe some other indexing things that Sergey will will talk about today um and again like I think uh we don't really want to compete with anyone specifically but I mean uh we just noticed like a bunch of these issues and uh we try to to fix it ourselves so uh if there's other partners we can we can can can find an
- 18:29
ecosystem right now to help us extend what our our needs are I mean uh we're totally open to that um and yeah I mean this is pretty much the summary we just got added to the wallet selector I think last week or two weeks ago so that's all recent for us and um yeah that's it open for questions too thanks uh maybe we can move to the next team uh Marcus sounds good let me go ahead and pull the
- 19:02
slide back up um I think next up we have Explorers so we have near blocks um to come up uh they do you need to share your screen or are you uh just chatting hey everyone uh can you hear me yep perfect um I'll just share my screen I mean there's not not much on there but uh I might help just um yeah no worries at all let me go ahead and stop sharing mine you should be good to share yours
- 19:27
Luke yeah can you see that yep perfect awesome thank you all right so um I'll keep this short um but essentially yeah I think it's good it's really good this kind of initiative just to just keep everyone on Rails and be able to give everyone a bit of an update um we run uh we run n blocks um there's a lot I guess like happening in the background we started um a couple of months ago with the dev um to be able
- 19:57
to like maintain it properly and uh expand on features so um I just give you a bit of a talk about the current state and then what we're working on uh and then maybe just give a few uh bit of feedback on the neat uh situation so as I was saying like there's um we started uh by putting the uh the current I guess like explorer.
- 20:20
n.org onto a selector um so we able to give the the option for uh for people to to select which um which explorer they want to use um that was like the first I guess like kickoff Point um we also decided to Outsource as much as poss um to open source sorry as much as possible um you can check our GitHub um for like a live I guess like road map uh we're currently in our second iteration uh the first iteration was obviously like a lot of a lot of housekeeping stuff um I
- 20:53
guess I built up feedback from the ecosystem and and group chats that we had around Legacy tokens uh Missing events token balances uh chart apis Etc um so these first couple of months was really just like getting us back to speed uh bringing the team back together um to be able to expand onto onto more features uh in between that obviously like or just like a couple of weeks before uh getting back onto near blocks uh obviously like boss came out so that
- 21:24
was a big uh big shift I guess of like rewriting um and that's currently uh currently what we're working on so what's currently in the works is um well boss Gateway from outside um tomorrow I think we'll we'll publish what it uh what it's currently looking like uh it's been up and down but essentially people will be able to like plug in uh use our components for accounts uh transactions tables Etc uh as components so allowing I guess like other DBS to to build off what we what we
- 21:58
publish um we are working on a new indexer uh which is live on GitHub um that helps where it's just like a better better in for us so we able to support um more stuff um one thing in particular that's quite interesting is time series data so allowing uh when you're like viewing an account or an address uh you're able to have like chatting uh seeing like highest balance lowest balance um and yeah anything like in between a time
- 22:31
period um so we're on our second iteration our targets for uh for in I guess like two months now is to publish obviously um the components on Boss we're also working on uh the node validator section um because that was currently one of the key features that was missing on near blocks compared to the Legacy Explorer uh we'd be looking to publish that before Christmas so probably around mid December and besides that um I mean
- 23:02
everything's yeah you can see like all of the the small things and like the details on on our GitHub road map um but besides that recent feedback from from the community and ecosystem uh was to be able to allow near other near projects to uh to run ads on near blocks uh so we're creating a section in the accounts where uh you can publish your banners uh get on like a monthly plan
- 23:27
see the clicks see The Impressions similar to what presence I'm not sure if uh people know presence here but uh they were an ad Network that would focus on there but they they recently uh moved on I think so we had to take that down um but because there are projects and and Dows that want to get a bit of exposure uh that's so we're going to uh have our own ad Network within uh within the account or within your account on on near blogs so if you sign up uh you can
- 23:59
run your own banners uh etc those are the main uh I guess like the key High L points that we're working on um and what's going to be published in the coming weeks and I guess like just to to finish just very briefly because I think we're waiting for like a bit of an update from from NF on on Thursday if not mistaken but um bit there a bit of a takeaway from ourside on neat um like globally speaking we weren't
- 24:28
ready to support this um as you can see on the chart on the right we had an exponential in in requests um it really peaked and uh we weren't necessarily aware of like what was uh what was causing this um we did see we were following Twitter and the chats and stuff but um I think we were one of the first I guess like apps that were affected by it um so yeah it really it really did damage um well I guess like throughout those uh that day or two um on top of
- 25:02
that we were receiving a high number of API hits and uh SQL notification injection notifications so we were a bit confused we're wondering where this is actually from is it like an actual uh like bad actor or something like that um but yeah the takeaway is that we uh obviously we saw like a lot of cracks in the current infrastructure um we are the new index are is uh is more powerful uh has more capacity uh so we should be able to sustain more load but yeah we want to be
- 25:34
prepared for upcoming situations like this um so that uh I guess like no one's panicking and stuff like that because yeah an Explorer is obviously like one of the first things that people start checking um and that's where we get that uh I guess like on the spot feedback um but yeah we did quite a bit of work uh on those hours um and yeah we will be prepared for like an upcoming one um besides that yeah RPC nodes um we struggling uh we use I think near read
- 26:09
RPC um but that wasn't necessarily related to why uh NE blocks was crashing at the time so yeah I think all in all um what we would have appreciated was like maybe a bit of a heads up um knowing like the scale of of all these uh well of the like it's kind of like test I think there was similar feedback from other apps in the ecosystem where it's more um what it had it made more damage let's say because um like they they
- 26:39
front like actual users or even like Web Two users and stuff like that so I think like if there's any initiatives that are taken forward uh well moving forward um it would be good to have like just a quick heads up obviously like we we're in like a permissionless uh I guess like industry but um yeah when you know that something of that size is is happening then yeah relevant parties would would definitely
- 27:02
benefit from from having a bit of a heads up very yeah I think that's it from from my side thank you look let's cautious of time let's move on maybe to the to the next team uh we can come back to the indexers and the need topic uh in the Q&A section oh cool yep I really appreciate it uh coming up really good overview um but yeah like the Conrad said we'll move on uh any questions Cameron really great questions we'll we'll have a Q&A at the end so I'll make sure I capture these uh next up we have
- 27:35
oracles so we're gonna have to we're gonna go ahead and bring a python um yeah I'll I'll do the intro hey perf everyone knows me uh still I am Anon I doing the infrastructure together with v and some other of our colleagues uh on the topic of oracles uh today we are having p with us on a call P this is a fast growing Next Generation Oracle in the space uh currently supporting 45 chains I believe and 45th being near and
- 28:07
around 100 of data providers they also have an online conference today and tomorrow the first one called Data driven so much appreciated joining the call and taking the time without further Ado Mark please take it from here G gmgm thanks a lot everyone I've seen everyone being a so I'll try to be fast um give me one second I'll share my screen I will speed run through this so bear with me but pretty much me Anon mentioned the the important part already pth Network Financial Oracle you get
- 28:46
price feeds on 45 blockchain and since last week near and I'll start with the TRD out right now so every all the Integrations permissionless and while you can consume today and we've had the amazing team at Burrow trying it out we are still refining the ux from the consumer perspective so expect hopefully tomorrow some feedback which I'll share in the uh like near channels and all the near teams we're connected with but
- 29:17
hopefully from tomorrow or the day after you'll have a very sweet experience when using p so I'll just it's like 10 sides but I'll just go through and if question at the end we'll go with it so very much pth today 400 like overall one of the leading Oracle with chaining for defi very much focused towards low latency price feeds so just the overall design you can imagine is pth is not a push model but an ond demand model Oracle meaning that the Oracle doesn't regularly push prices on chain but
- 29:49
rather delegate this to users so that if you're per protocol and you need and you have trades at every nail blocks you can actually request a fresh price updates at every NE like within each NE block for all 400 price feeds we have today we actually are available and have been available in Aurora for more than a year now being evm it was easy to expand origami has been using us and it's been
- 30:14
very smooth for them and kudos to them because they've been like one of the easiest partner to work to work with and orora also so thanks to aora crew also um whole idea of pth you can imagine if you're to explain to your grandmother or actually maybe not your your father or mothers better but we kind of design it a bit like Spotify SL Airbnb for financial data so far so we have like
- 30:39
first party data Publishers so people who own create data can be exchange decentralized centralized and actually we have US Stock Exchange giving us data plus market makers Traders like QC qcp J Street Winter mute Etc and all these pretty much it's the supply side so they don't TR their apartment they Supply data and on the other side you have all these chains we're connected to that can
- 31:02
request and use that data whenever um and overall the pth network is not so much of an entity going forward it's very much onchain protocol we have the Dow popping up later this month um one key things around pth check at the bottom is how is the prices price feeds look like we have an aggregate price that updates every three times per second and on top of it we have a confidence interval uh so grossly speaking you could imagine it's a Bas
- 31:34
spread but if you're an actual engineer big brain it's not a bidas spread but for the sake of comprehension uh let's go with bidas spread over it's just capturing any potential Market dislocation and one practical example is let's say you you value a collateral on a board ending rather than take at the row price you could be like price minus confidence interval and when you actually borrow you could value this borrow at Price Plus confidence so it gives you even more buffer into like the
- 32:06
balance borrow and Supply I mentioned Spotify so very much like today we are at 90 data Publishers range from US Stocks FX crypto U uh Metals Commodities uh very much we want to be a bit like the BL onch Bloomberg or if you want to like maybe two years from now very much have like thousand of feeds available to you um the big design and kind of on par with the Airbnb Spotify is we don't want
- 32:39
middleman in our design we want those owner of data creator of data directly contributing this helps on latency but also legal rights because if you start finding data somewhere and just packaging again resetting it arguably like you could get some legal trouble uh so both go for Speed freshness and actually access to like data you wouldn't find elsewhere like if you want Apple livestock price you won't find it for free on trade so this is where sibo
- 33:09
jump trading virtual financial help a lot as they give live data for Apple stock um well today we're at 100 publisher we arrive at the stage where like it's harder to add Publishers because we now have let's say the woooo of crypto so the next big leg up is going to be more on the trfi with bank more exchanges Etc uh blockchains as I mentioned live on 45 now the chart is a bit laggy two months behind Aurora one
- 33:38
of the first actually was more than a year ago so thanks andon you were among our first kind of users and finally near arrived end like earlier this month but practically speaking you'll get the full experience from tomorrow with pth price f onia um well we have about like more than 200 application that use us one funny thing is we actually a bunch of of chain Integrations um and this mostly driven
- 34:10
by the fact that we give anything of chain so especially for your uis you can use piece prices which updates three times a second for free all the offchain consumption completely for free and overall the mechanism is whenever you want to use it on train within your app the app s or the trader of that app or the ball lender will be in charge of bringing that price on chain so that it
- 34:34
can use the freshest price uh so and if you go on our website and you check pretty much the biggest user we have today is synthetics and optimism soon on Bas because of this like three times for three updates per second Plus have a permission has access to a catalog of 400 price feeds uh I I'll just quickly repeat again but crypto equities so lots of US Stocks us ETFs um FX Metals it will expend further trfi will'll keep on add more near assets
- 35:08
already got a few requests for like the stake near linear Etc so we'll get to work with this and one cool thing when you get a peace price feed is that it's actually available on all the chains were available so whenever we have Stak near you could arguably have like use St near on orbitum if you want to so if someone wants to ship a per or ball ending with STI near on orbitum who knows he can so that's also one great design from pth mentioned three like two
- 35:39
about 200 apps synthetics big among biggest user Villa hmx Venus origami so and you can find all on the website yes Mark it's all very interesting but I think for the uh to move on to the very very interesting I'll just say I'll just say one thing tomorrow you hear from me with the actual docs thanks a lot for the time amazing thank you Mark thank you cheers uh let's move to the next team uh we want to carve out enough time for the
- 36:12
Q&A session because there are plenty of interesting questions popping up in the chat so rpc's uh very quickly an and team very quickly indeed so RPC offering on near is not super kind of Central life as an offering as of now we're working on changing that there are some initiatives that we will mention in the next go potentially and now I'll let K to talk more about what's lava doing to
- 36:38
Aggregate and incentivize RPC offerings do you mind can I share my screen I know we didn't of course let me uh stop sharing mine you should be good to go ahead now okay thank you all right can you see my screen yep perfect thank you all right thank you so for those who don't know just to give Reef introduction lava basically is multi-chain RPC that just works the way it works is by providing modular data access for all of web 3 with all the
- 37:15
different apis it takes the requests of a developer application and routes the RPC to the best available provider based on geolocation uptime and performance rating there's a bunch of data guarantees and things that come with that that we won't go into but the basic thing that you can understand from lava is that you have an application here it communicates with the lava blockchain the lava blockchain basically gives it a
- 37:38
provider pairing list and it connects to those providers in a peer-to-peer fashion so it's secure it's fast it's decentralized and it's uh multi-chain and reliable so with regards to um near we've been trying to support the initiative for incentivized public RPC incentivized public RPC is a lava initiative that basically is first required the implementation of required the uh support of near on lava so near is Now supported on lava we've implemented a
- 38:09
spec a spec is basically how we add new chains or apis this is just a quick look at what it looks like but basically allows for the various supported methods on near Tobe called and the lava providers to know what they need to support in order to support near so various providers sign up for this incentivized uh public RPC it gives the hyper reliable scalable and free experience to the developers in the ecosystem you look at public RPC today
- 38:35
you'll see that apps often communicate with different public endpoints connect to various providers various experiences that they have they have to change URLs they have these different experiences but with uh IPC which is what lava is providing based upon your geolocation an app communicates to this unified endpoint and that unified endpoint uh then routes through through the lava Network to the proper providers
- 38:59
and gives you the best RPC experience so we do have the endpoints available right now we're in the process of onboarding providers we're working with top providers like um pagot chain stack lugan nodes pachu various providers we actually have a lot of providers clamoring in our Discord to sign up for this uh we call it incentivized of course because near is through Grant paying the providers to provide and the developers get the free experience of using the unified endpoint just as an example I think I have an example
- 39:30
somewhere right here this is uh XLR which uh XLR already had 80 providers signed up we also did public RPC for OS which also had 80 providers signed up so all 80 providers are servicing this endpoint that you can all these endpoints that you can see here so that will be a a similar page will be created for near and then finally I'll just show that there's documentation in process that includes teaching the providers you
- 39:54
know according to the near docs how to set set up a near node and a lava provider that services that near node this docs will go live very shortly as we continue our onboarding and then um giving access to the Json RPC endpoints that we've created so lava right now IPR RPC has serviced I think over 250 million requests on the other chains that we support and we're really excited about near everyone's been clamoring in
- 40:18
our Discord and uh asking how they can sign up so we're on boarding providers right now and we hope to have a major uh launch in the next couple of weeks fantastic thank you very much super exciting uh if any questions feel free to reach out to the lava team or Anon uh let's move on to the next topic and then we'll come back to uh to Lava at the Q&A section yes hey so the next topic is indexers and indexers have been quite a
- 40:48
complicated topic on near I would say was the complex history but today um what we want to touch is the initiative that M Bas is doing on the side of indexers on year and I'll let L take it from here actually I'm gonna speak so I'm Sergio um I'm speaking on behalf of mint base about indexers so I'll keep this very short and sweet so our goal for the last year has been to simplify the entry into the ecosystem for everyone so uh we've done that through different onboarding solutions like reworking our
- 41:22
SDK docs and indexers to make things really easy and approachable and our indexer has had a very strong emphasis on inoperable nfts and more likely the update has been account and access key indexing namely for our wallets so um speaking broadly about the near indexing uh ecosystem I think everyone knows it could be uh it could see some real Improvement and I believe that part of the issue that everyone is off doing their own thing so the main
- 41:53
thing that I want to put forward here is like open communication about Partnerships I think this call is a very good step in that direction so we're focusing our strengths on what we're good at and we would like to support people that are doing those use cases but we also want to extend an invitation for partners in other areas to join forces so I think what we've seen throughout the previous um presentations
- 42:16
is that everyone is just like building a use index for their use case and I think everyone's trying to do everything and I think if we move in a direction of unification and making things uh Stronger we'll all move forward U as an ecosystem together so like Vic mentioned before we don't want people building the same things over and over so this is me opening Communications for everyone reach out to us and uh we are very open
- 42:43
to partner with everyone and bring the ecosystem forward so I think that basically sums it up amazing thank you sge um let's move on defab Boris are you with us let me let me let me share the screen one second oh I cannot you need to stop Ching so I can Cher my should yeah yeah just just just for the time management we are on time but uh I suggest we continue the call and the people who cannot join it will uh listen to the recording later on okay and we have some questions in the chat that we're going to go through them um
- 43:23
after the call so Boris back to you yeah there are a few slides but I be fast so okay so we have some regarding infrastructure we have some three main projects minor blocks minor wallet Source Canan ER about um near blocks they requested H 600k um the idea was to consolidate new Explorer near blocks into one product erh their their Milestones where you know the the general topics were explor exploring transition
- 44:02
consolidation Explorer improvements tool enhancement enhancement um maintenance and you know marketing for for the for near blocks they for Milestones um 150k each one ER they are in the first one about to start in the second one uh if you want to see the proposal this is a QR code uh I mean I mean the near social proposal they then we have Min wallet that is basically is a meteors wallet is stewardship of Min wallet they have four milon 45k each uh March June oh sorry
- 44:47
that's March June 2023 that's those are not the 2024 there 2023 I I need to check those but okay but they are the master one right now H if you want to see the The Proposal there there's the the QR code um Source can they are doing the the smart contract source and the SE code verification with social uh features they're also doing contract compilation and contract verification uh so so
- 45:23
then sorry I get mix here so they this is the The Source can let me let me fix this I guess I need this for later so let's remove this one this this okay so okay so they have four four mstone the Z is the proofer concept the one is B integration the second is verification and Milestone 3 is H verification 2.0 they are now in my 2 and the amount approved for Max on 02 01 and two are $33,000 and if you want to see the The
- 46:04
Source can the The Proposal you can see the QR code we are also considering a few more projects right now lava is is one we already start to talk about it's really new we are be working with them doing some defal activities some marketing support with uh some Twitter space and workshops are working on that chain stack the they pish The Proposal are near social is not yet approved
- 46:33
there has been a lot of er conversations about the role of defo being the the approver and the funer of this proposal so we are still working on that so yeah um that's the overall they they asked me just a couple of minutes about what we're doing so this is this is the the general summary of what we are working in infrastructure that's it amazing thank you Boris super helpful um great
- 47:05
so back to you Vick yeah uh so I'll keep it short now the we also worked on the priorities for the next quarter and like you saw the different themes so we have wallets on the wallet side we are working on Ledger Integrations uh with Patrick from uh from Boda and I'm working with him as well on that initiative and our near ecosystem node partner Kimo is also providing support uh there are also discussions around wallet uh Revenue strategy if you have questions at the
- 47:39
end Patrick and fat can answer those questions uh on the metamask side ban team is working on metamask snap I think that it's a very interesting project but it's still yet to be launched uh we are also collaborating with Aurora uh to see if we need need a metamask integration for the overall ecosystem uh on the RPC side we'll work with lava team laa Network team to decentralize uh the rpcs that are being managed by near initially so that we do not manage it centrally on the Explorers
- 48:12
we saw all the updates from near blocks we keep supporting it and grow further and bring new features but we are also talking to another potential new partner partner on the Explorer side again referred by the ion team and Cameroon can answer any questions if you have around it on the indexer again we are working with a new partner uh we cannot name them yet but we have shortlisted a couple of them and we are also following up with our
- 48:38
internal team that build the query API on Oracle uh we heard just now from P about the launch so we want to encourage projects to build with pth and we are also trying to build uh monitoring around it with the help of can meia one of our colleagues and Pier uh there are also uh topics around Bridges so ZK Bridge uh we already uh are integrated with layer zero we are also talking about cross chain with XLR and Source scan is something that you already saw from devhub so these are
- 49:10
some of the top priorities if you have any question you can reach out to Conrad Anon Marcus or me and we can connect you with the right people who are leading this initiative thank you very clear uh so I believe now is the time for uh discussion q&as feedback so uh we saw couple of interesting questions in the chat so feel free to to jump in and and ask any question yeah I think we can start with
- 49:44
fat giving a 101 on the the need story because it seems everybody's very interested to hear uh about neat Pat do you want to share something yeah of course of course um so there was this is on the protocol side um there's different part of stacks that saw a bunch of load um but the the idea is to understand why this is why this happen basically on the protocol side when there's a lot of transactions going around and Bowen team is looking into it we're looking into doing a
- 50:16
retrospective on our side um but also they're planned features that are going to be significantly increasing the the through of the whole system basically one of them is stateless validation which is going to be landing quite soon um and in the next release also we're planning to have and 1.37 release it should be we're planning to increase the the number of shots to five that should also increase the throughput of the system um and like
- 50:46
I said we're going to be sharing more input um more of the after the retrospective about what what were the changes and of course everything is open source every can follow it any questions uh there's one from o did any of wallets already implemented fast off how does it perform anyone on the call from the wallet team no we don't have uh trentin yet or di in the call he couldn't join but uh I
- 51:19
can share the feedback with you after the call uh do we have any questions on neat at this point from anyone if not then I think we can take the question from Cameroon uh and that is for near blogs and the mint based team about how is the new indexer different from the uh existing one do you want to answer yes I do actually apologize I couldn't unmute I do have a question on need yes what was the idea or near to endorse and promote
- 51:55
need and inscriptions I'm just curious what was the logic to think uh well let's do it okay I will I will try to answer this one o um so as we saw in the comments uh NE was a community project I think near Foundation was not behind it nor any you know major uh ecosystem no uh I saw some retweets uh from our marketing team about it I think that this was mostly driven by the fact that
- 52:35
it was a very interesting experiment and people got excited by how many transactions were realized we are also very cognizant that uh this had uh caused a lot of troubles to other network participants uh mostly the projects that are relying on our and blockchain to um manage their operations manage their business so for us it was a learning uh uh that gave us a lot of uh ideas how we can resolve uh the the the
- 53:05
scaling issues the gas fees issues that VI and fat can talk a little bit more in detail around but in terms of the you know endorsement or uh promoting it it was uh mostly driven by the excitement right about about the fact I don't think it was like a strategic endorsement of this particular team or or this effort so this is this my response to segue off of that as well for everybody on the call we do have a like I say like a postmortem or a retro
- 53:36
of the neat activity on near uh Twitter spaces with Ilia on Thursday um we'll also discuss sharting phase to as well but I'll I'll go ahead and plant the link in this chat for anybody who wants to join great thanks um yeah Boris go ahead please quickly I publish the slides the my near wallet budget was wrong it's not correct sorry about that that's it thank you no problem yeah thanks uh so on the question of indexers going back to that
- 54:09
again uh do you want to answer the differences or the new features that we'll have in the indexer as compared to what we have currently uh near blocks team and then also mbase can talk a bit more about it hey yeah uh I mean for nblocks basically uh it's more on the database side so we're we're moving from from pogress SQL to to time scale um so yeah we can we'll be able to leverage those features um be able to aggregate um and hopefully mitigate like any exponential uh that pops up um we
- 54:49
also I think like this is the first kind of like stress test since we um I guess took on near blocks again so we had like minimal um infro at that point uh we haven't upgraded it so um that's essentially yeah the one of the main causes why uh why we went underwater um but yeah with the new indexer new infer um especially on the database side then uh we should be better that's basically what we learn
- 55:20
from this whole yeah like past two days um but yeah it's just reaffirms that we're on the right track um and yeah should be prepared for um for a similar upcoming event yeah Sergio do you want to share something uh yeah just wanted to get some input on the wallet side whether an MPC solution focus on social recovery for existing wallets is something you guys would be interested in using uh mint base is looking at funding a
- 55:53
project that uh will build this and I know that the current NPC team doesn't see that as a very important Focus right now so I was wondering if other walls would be very interested in implementing this or not uh yeah if anyone wants to speak up yeah um media wall is definitely interested to be part of that like we are actively exploring possible MPC Solutions and I think um f off has done pretty well um using py mean based I mean not NPC but has explored pretty
- 56:25
from pasy as well um so yeah media is planning to implement MPC especially with social integrat as well okay great yeah I also see a question from Patrick asking about the release of metamask snap I think would be nice Cameroon if you can give a 30 seconds to one minute head update on the metamask nap seems a lot of people are interested on that subject yeah so um it is is live by the way people can go use it um we
- 56:57
just haven't announced it because we want to make it much better and we want to actually allow people to do relevant things with it before uh like get it added wallet selector make sure apps actually support it um and also make it easy for like other wallets to implement and so that is kind of what we're we're focused on and that that should all be live by January 7th um I did drop a much more detailed uh sort of road map in the chat so if anyone wants check that out feel free to let us know what you want
- 57:23
give it a give it a try we have written a blog post I also dropped that we're aligned with metamask everything's pretty much ready to rock and roll we're not making it a boss Gateway um the reason for that it's just too slow right now um we could but it's just not a not a priority we want to make sure that it actually gets like tangible usage not as a boss Gateway before we make it a boss Gateway
- 57:45
so great thanks uh I think uh we still have one last minute if anybody has a question yes ADT please hey DM AGT from shitsu you know not sure this is the right Forum but you know we promoted aggressively the near task Endeavor and then suddenly it went radio silent so I'm not sure we can get uh you know improved top down messaging uh when it comes to uh these type of projects that are highly visible and now
- 58:16
you know we can't really answer for the for them I'll try to I'll try to to answer this one so me personally I was also surprised uh about the near task shutdown uh I learned about it from Twitter I fully agree that we need to improve a little bit on the communications uh having this call is is definitely a first step we want everyone to be involved and and and kept up to date as much as possible but also we
- 58:49
need to be cognizant that uh being part of a decentralized ecosystem uh that involves many independent companies uh we need to tolerate some level of of this C right so um so yeah but definitely good point uh if anyone has more um update on near tasks feel free to jump in uh but good good call out yeah great I think we are there maybe we can go to the last uh slide so we also pulled up this NPS survey if
- 59:27
everyone could scan using their phone and share feedback all the partners I also shared the link if you want to copy it and use it for feedback I'll also put it on the YouTube live link for the people who are on YouTube uh yeah feel free to please share your feedback and I will be I I I have a suggestion if you can uh shift it a little bit uh to the later time cuz like like the uh uh the East Coast uh is completely missing right so this is like yeah it's a little bit tough for people
- 1:00:02
right like 7 a.m. yeah so if it's like I know I know Asian people like will complain right but like I think like maybe like one hour shift like say we start at 11: Eastern uh Easter time would would be nice right like some compromise possibly I don't know yeah on the link I clicked on the link and it says I need permission so something needs to be done on your end well I'll open it for everyone thank you very much guys yeah
- 1:00:36
on the on the time time zone stuff definitely Sasha will try improving uh for people who cannot join for timeone reasons or other reasons there will always be a recording available yeah and please make make it event calendar event so people can add it easily to the their calendar otherwise it's 2023 right should be doable yeah good good point Thank You Sasha AGT last question I see your hand in the
- 1:01:09
air or is it a mistake sorry mistake I'll put it down okay no worries well thank you very much for for for your participation for all the good questions if you have any follow-up questions feel free to reach out to myself Marcus and vikas uh we will uh try to keep this Cadance on a monthly basis to share all the updates and gather um gather feedback and take questions from you guys um please uh fill in The NPS score survey this would
- 1:01:41
help us improve uh for the next call cool thank you everyone thanks have a great rest rest of the day byebye bye thank you thanks bye
