foreign Okay cool so we're gonna get started with our next session with Jeff bissinger from Satori um just a reminder yeah put your headphones in and we're good okay take it over Jeff can you guys hear me sweet hey everyone uh my name is Jeff I'm the product manager over at Satori and today we're actually going to have kind of a two-part segment so we're going to talk about Brands businesses and creators
- 1:10
um and these are people that want to work with nfts and trying to figure out what's next for them so gonna take probably the first half of this to talk about where we are today where we're going and then I actually want to Pivot into a a demo of our product I feel like that's going to be the most effective use of our time and mainly for the people who aren't in the room so hopefully we can have some fun playing around with the product so bottom right hand corner is a QR code
- 1:34
to my business card so if you want my email Reach Out grab it so uh where are we with everything today let's start here so these are some of the major brands that have uh actually adopted a web 3 strategy through nfts uh Nike has partnered with a nft brand called artifact and they have quite a extensive lineup of products coming down that is very exciting so that's something that we should all be paying attention to Pepsi launched a project earlier in the year we have several
- 2:08
sports teams that have entered the arena as well we have some fine jewelry with Tiffany that got into it which is exciting and yesterday we had this announcement with Starbucks that they are launching their own loyalty program surrounded by nfts and so there's clearly a lot of investment going into uh the technology people are trying to figure out exactly what to do and I think that to date there's a lot of experimenting happening but it's where we're moving forward there's a lot of uh
- 2:38
really interesting things that major brands are about to dive into but that's the problem the first mover Advantage is extremely risky you have these brands that have um frankly a lot on the line and so when they are making a bet on an nft strategy or approach they need to be fairly certain with the level of confidence that what they're doing is going to last and so many of these brands that I kind of prefaced with have spent that time
- 3:09
thinking about what they're going to do how they're going to do it but I actually think that there's a lot they don't know and they're trying to figure out but what they have recognized is the importance of actually uh um taking advantage of Their audience early and getting them into the space now and figuring it out later so I think these stats are pretty important to like focus on so people identify with Brands and businesses that align to their values and we are seeing
- 3:41
this compounding effect with customer loyalty and so over the past several years people are really consolidating towards brands that they really identify with and so this first stat here about 90 of customers just want a more robust loyalty program people want to be more connected to these Brands and so getting coupons giveaways is great but what else can they get people want more and they're willing to try whatever they can to see what else is out there
- 4:12
um people view a loyalty program is simple value like Brands value them if the brand values them they're going to invest more time with them they're going to buy more product from them and at the end of the day if you have a loyal customer you have an advocate for you kind of in the world almost like a walking billboard and so with the current loyalty programs out there think of them as kind of two-dimensional with
- 4:37
a nft or a web 3 strategy it gets much more Dynamic and deeper relationships can get built there I thought this was quite interesting when you look at kind of the um the addressable Market here of what a membership or loyalty program looks like the numbers are massive and so in the future kind of where we're going is these membership and loyalty programs are going to be so compelling that
- 5:03
people will pay to join them and so we're talking kind of in the hundreds of millions of people that are already um participating in these either subscription networks membership programs whatever but at the end of the day the real power of the technology that nfts can provide is how do you bring these things together and so how does a Netflix subscriber communicate with maybe a Costco membership what is the really kind of the special things
- 5:29
that can happen because of that today we don't know and that's really abstract thinking but that's what this technology can really provide flip side of the coin here is the creator ecosystem so over the past five years this ecosystem has grown to about 100 billion dollars and that's really a good estimate of where we are today so these are some of the major brands major players out there
- 5:54
and what is really interesting about a lot of these guys is the Creator on the other side of the market isn't receiving the full value they're actually providing these platforms are capturing much of the value and it's trickling down to the creators but the creators still see this as opportunistic because they have distribution so distribution really is the uh the value provided that these platforms have
- 6:19
and that's what's created all this value and so we have creators from all walks of life either you have your own small business where you are making things and selling them on Etsy or Shopify maybe there's content creators that are Distributing their content across the various platforms and all of these companies are building very robust products to help these creators monetize their contents the thing that creators want though is how do I build deeper relationships with
- 6:49
the people that are supporting meat and so nfts are actually going to take the Creator ecosystem into this next level where they're going to be able to build deep rich relationships with the people that are actually supporting them and so nft Integrations in the Creator economy will actually enable these creators one to own their content but two for fans to be simply rewarded for being fans and so when a Creator distributes nfts
- 7:20
to their ecosystems think of these as made many of the the large creators that have tens of thousands hundreds of thousands millions of people that support them the power of these ecosystem is massive and so this next graphic I really like uh because it kind of it details Where We Are so we have fans that follow you these are like your basic supporters many of you in the audience right like you've you you know who I am so you've come to the talk like you're fans that follow me
- 7:53
some of you may ask questions maybe you'll you'll uh we'll connect after this conversation some of you maybe if I had a product to sell would actually buy my products and the people that are like the most engaged with these creators that are actually customers of these creators are the addressable market for where these nfts will initially land and so once these creators actually showcase the value they're bringing to these nft holders
- 8:23
that ecosystem grows and then over time more and more people will want to be a part of that nft ecosystem it's just we have this abstract thinking today of what's possible we need to figure that out and that's where we're going everyone can and should be a Creator so this is a graph of 2021 where kind of this craze of nfts really exploded and so we see we had this I mean frankly exponential growth and then we all know
- 8:54
this year has been an extreme drop off but what this tells us is the potential here people recognize the technology is extremely powerful what this graph doesn't show us though is how much creators actually earns when you sell an nft when you create an nft there's a royalty attached to the asset and so wherever you distribute the asset maybe there's another royalty attached to that platform but creators are capturing the vast majority of this value and so in today's world where
- 9:25
large web 2 platforms are capturing 30 70 percent of value in the future with an nft strategy the creators are capturing frankly close to 90 percent of that value and they can decide how they distribute that out to the people that are supporting them and so I have a lot of thoughts on how creators can funnel value back into supporters uh there again is very abstract thinking but to be paid to be a fan of somebody
- 9:56
is much closer than we actually realized today so right on time um that's kind of the kind of landscape of where we are with Brands and creators there's a lot of people thinking about it the possibility is there I want to Pivot this into what we at Satori are building to kind of go after this opportunity and so the team has built over the past year a pretty robust a piece of technology that allows for minting nfts
- 10:28
at scale and so that's important because if you're trying to go after a business or a Creator you're not dealing with um tens or hundreds of people you're dealing in the thousands and the millions and so building on top of near allows for the efficient distribution but also the scale and so if a million nfts need to be produced for a specific Creator that's actually possible on near
- 10:53
and so we built an API we have the technology and getting people to build with the API has Pro proven to be quite challenging and so what we did was we took our API and we made a very nice user interface so anybody can use it without the use of code so anybody in this room any Creator any business can actually launch an nft strategy for whatever they want to do to begin learning like right now we need to be in full learning mode and so figure out what works test a lot of different strategies and then go down that path
- 11:27
eventually and so I'm going to walk us through Creator Studio exactly what the product is and if we have enough time I'll do a live demo for us on stage but if not come connect with me afterwards and I'll do a demo with you in person so what is Creator studio so Creator Studio allows you to create your own nft collections you can set up royalties you can launch distribution campaigns across multiple channels you can track these results and it's all in one spot
- 11:58
so I mentioned we've removed this technical complexity of getting the stuff off the ground cost efficiency is huge and so being able to do this where the Creator isn't on the hook for frankly asking Their audience to purchase this asset up front which many times if any of us have purchased nft recently or in the past year that's hundreds of dollars and so that's just not attainable and frankly inaccessible for the vast majority of people we built tools to allow creators to
- 12:29
distribute these assets and frankly we've just simplified the crypto onboarding experience for people when claiming an nft so the challenge that we've been faced with is most people have never experienced any kind of crypto transaction in the past and so if you're Distributing nfts to people in Mass you have to go in with the assumption that this is the first experience people are having with crypto
- 12:53
and so the user experience of this entire process has been the most important thing that we've been focused on some of the product applications that we've had from Creator Studio collections have been here if you've claimed a poapp from the events or from any of the talks on the main stage this is one of them there's a kind of cube right in the front section we've had some photos minted through us some
- 13:17
certificates token gated merchandise event tickets contact cards business cards again someone actually came up to me at the conference yesterday and showed me that they created a business card through Creator Studio which was amazing um we've had event RSVPs and the team actually kicked off a fundraising nft collection for Ukraine several months ago so these are the distribution strategies we've built within Creator Studio we can
- 13:50
almost think of minting nfts as a commodity at this point and so our real value add to the ecosystem is how do you get nfts out and so we can send a direct link to people we can have events specific campaigns so if you're not at the event you can't claim the nft we have a fun social connection with Tick Tock so you have to verify your Tick Tock handle in order to claim the nft you can sell nfts with a credit card coming very soon and then you can
- 14:20
collect emails before you distribute an NLT so if you're giving your business card out and you want to get the other person's contact they actually have to give you their email before they can claim your business card this is what they look like so if any of you have claimed an nft here from the conference this is likely the screen you got you scanned a QR code and the screen immediately popped up email I just mentioned you scan the QR
- 14:46
code you have to provide your email you verify your email and then you can claim the nft an in-person event you have a QR code again but on the screen there's a six digit code and if you're not in the room you don't know what the code is and so you'll be able to claim it a little gated action for being able to receive an nft this is the one that the team is extremely excited about that we have
- 15:11
we're building and testing right now is the ability to purchase an nft with a credit card and so I mentioned that the big challenge that all of us have is whatever we're building we're kind of the first experience many people are having with crypto and so if we are Distributing nfts to people who don't have a wallet then they can create a wallet but if they didn't have a wallet to begin with then they obviously don't
- 15:35
have any near and so how can you sell an asset to somebody that doesn't have that currency to purchase it with so that's why we went down the path of selling with a credit card to allow for creators and businesses to actually have a sustainable model to distribute this stuff so this is the claiming experience for creating a new wallet so you many of us have already walked through this before all right so we're cycling through you go back to the asset it immediately
- 16:06
claims it drops into your wallet congratulations you have now been onboarded to the near ecosystem and your first nft has been dropped into your wallet if any of us in the room haven't had that first experience with us I'd be more than happy to drop an nft into your wallet after this so I do have five minutes so I'm going to take advantage of that so let's do this all right so our website is satori.art
- 16:40
and super easy if you just go to the top right and you click create there we go so we're on our creator Studio landing page and you launch our app well I was overly optimistic my computer froze there we go all right so I've already logged in here but this is my dashboard so I can see all of the campaigns I'm running and all that you would do as a Creator is you would create a collection and so what is a collection it's a smart contract and so what you'll do here is
- 17:24
you'll type in whatever you want your collection to be titled and you'll create your own smart contract so almost think of your smart contract as a big shopping cart you can put anything into the shopping cart so those things you put into your shopping cart is called a series and so you can have multiple series within your collection and so once you've created a series you want to distribute these assets and
- 17:50
so these are where the campaigns come in mind and say you pick whichever type of campaign you want if you want the event if you want the email a direct link whatever it is go for it it'll pop up here and then you can actually have some tracking of what that campaign looks like and so this is live campaign so you can scan this if you would like um but this is what it looks like
- 18:16
there we go so my wallet automatically connected so I can immediately claim this and so why is this important it's because the first nft is the most challenging you have to create a wallet or you have to connect your wallet but once you've done that the follow-on nft drops are extremely easy and so if you think about big creators or big brands that actually deploy an nft strategy and they're dropping nfts to their fans or their customers this is the experience they'll have it'll immediately process their
- 18:46
wallet so they can immediately connect and then claim so awesome so think about nfts almost as this marketing tool um so what we're building is products that help people really easily engage with crypto technology and so we've recognized that the future of brand loyalty and engagement customer onboarding and massive Creator ecosystems will be fully powered by blockchain technology in the future and
- 19:27
so what we're going after is we want to build these really incredible user experiences so people can take advantage of this and so that's kind of brings us to what we've done for nircon so what we've done here is we built a really fun and engaging app called proof of memories and so all this is is it is an application built on top of our nft minting API that allows you to take a photo document your experience at nearcon
- 19:58
drop it into the wallets of the people that you've been working with for the past year and maybe this is the first time you've met them in person and then mint that as an nft if you try this you'll realize that wow you didn't there was no crypto transaction all you did was you clicked a few buttons you typed a few things and you're done that's what we want we don't want the end user to realize that this is truly a blockchain transaction that's happening but what we have done is we've activated an audience and so everybody here has
- 20:30
been able to take advantage of a Satori built product which means they've either won been onboarded into the near ecosystem or two now have a new nft dropped into their wallet and so at the end of this conference we're going to have a massive collection that was created by the community and the community owns each of these individual assets so if you minted the NFC or the photo yourself or if you sent it to a friend a co-worker whomever
- 20:59
there's a royalty assigned to that image and so if maybe you took an amazing photo in Lisbon or maybe you're at home watching from maybe your computer screen or a TV and you want to document your experience maybe you took an amazing photo you can sell it um and then it gets really exciting to see how market dynamics actually work when these things have a level of critical mass and are being utilized so please give this a scan take some photos share them I'm super excited to see what the collection looks like at the end of
- 21:30
this conference we've had a couple hundred photos taken already and let's see what happens so that's me I'm Jeff I'm the product manager over at Satori my email is there at the bottom I'm fairly active on Twitter if you want to throw me a follow but that QR code is again my business card so give it a scan and that will be another nft into your wallet or maybe that will be the first nft on near for you so thank you all so much I hope that
- 22:02
you enjoyed this and I'll be floating around at the Satori booth for the rest of today so thank you guys thank you thank you Jeff hope you all got your mintedger nfts um okay so up next we have Louise from mint base coming up in just a couple minutes I'll just leave some things here it's good can you all hear me nice all right so this is the first like super super interesting all right so this is the Windows XP themed presentation hope you like it hope this brings the Nostalgia I'm Luis
- 23:03
um heading devex now with mint base just starting um clippy is coming with us today to give us a few hints of what we're talking about and yeah the whole drag thing uh images ramps I'm sorry I went crazy on this one and this this was really really interesting so yeah let me start this one so yeah um it's oop it's undeniable that the FB collections have conquered their Spotlight during
- 23:36
the last hype cycle and uh I mean kind of like you know since and since nfts became a thing like pfps have been around right um and this kind of uh divided I think the audience so there's like people that love pfps people that hate pfbs uh and in this talk what I really want to talk about is like what's coming next and what you can do with these ppfps and um show how you could potentially use mint
- 24:05
base as a developer and build something around around these tokens all right so this is the topic let's go all right so I'm sorry I think we're having some technical issues here uh oh I'm just kidding sorry no literally I'm having some technologies here oh all good yeah so let's first start with the basics what is apfb nope yeah just help me gotcha yeah as soon as you as I touch it
- 24:46
so let's start with the basics uh what is a pfp so a pfv is an NFC non-fungible token so cryptographic uniqueness on the blockchain you know all those crazy fancy words but in reality what it means is it's you know a picture for proof or a profile picture that generally people use um you know on social platforms like Discord or Twitter or Instagram basically you get the token you prove that you own that thing uh on your on your profile and that's uh that's kind of that's kind of it like that's that's
- 25:18
the use case right now basically right so I'm I'm sure all of you heard of if you have these before so that's but for the ones who didn't let's let's try to find out old clippy uh let's try to find out some some bfps let's go to the PFE Market um very simplistic look of the bfp market you have like three of the major collections on here you have near knots ASAC and The Misfits and um
- 25:48
I'm sorry I'm having some issues here oh my God so but you know you know I just right click and save these images um yeah that's kind of like one of the major criticisms around pfiz is that anyone can kind of like right click and say if there's no point right uh for for the technology but we can kind of address that like Twitter is started like social media Giants they just started like allowing people to connect their wallets and uh and kind of
- 26:22
and kind of show and kind of prove that users can can prove that they own the thing so that's kind of like the purpose of what um yeah the other one is like they're expensive but I mean this is super subjective um it's it's not really uh a thing uh people can can spend as much as they want on things they want so that's not that's not really a big issue uh and in reality that that's not even um yeah so and the other one is there's
- 26:51
there's no utility and I think like identity is is pretty much uh its utility but we can always try to find like different and and new use cases so let's go around like what is well so we have hayseack here uh and you have a population of individuals so let's say each one of these individuals own um you know it's a user they own uh this token so and if they start interfacing with each other uh on chain or off chain
- 27:23
you're kind of like building a community right so you have like these individuals like interfacing with each other and now this allows like for apps content creators and other brands to tap into this as an ecosystem right so content creators can build things for for this community Brands can also tap into this so I think like um as a use case uh for this for example like a very
- 27:48
simple one would be like membership right and even like Jeff from story just just talked about like membership is being is huge right so we'll start like looking into how to build something super simple uh as membership uh with token getting content for for members of sad community YouTube anyone right 2007.
- 28:09
so we have like The Skateboarding Dog uh video on YouTube and let's say we just wanna show this to ASAC holders right so this would be like my bad design sorry Marcelo I know you're there uh sorry my bad design but this is how it would like look like uh if you want to token get like the video for only token holders of ASAC um so let's just run quickly through how you know you could build something like this very simplistically using our API you hit that URL uh that would be your
- 28:43
mypfb not my not yours the fpfp app uh and you would get something like token data you pass the contract ID would be like the ASAC contract you'd pass the token ID and you would get like metadata like we're indexing pretty much everything from all you know near ecosystem right now just launched like last Friday donate and um yeah you get like all the metadata um and this would show us this page right but this is not what we really want what we want is like token gate the
- 29:14
video right so you would go and do yeah uh you would add like that little one field called owner and as the user validates that they own or who they are essentially this would be the result page um I think I'm almost done here yes this is it uh and uh yeah I just want to talk I have like two minutes now so just want to talk like very quickly about this one thing like if you want to just scan the QR code play around this where uh we're
- 29:45
hacking here as well this is this is fun built on top of mint base nf3 infrastructure for the ones who don't know about Memphis yet um and um and and yeah just mint base at dot IO we're we're just starting the the grants program as well so if any any of you is building something cool or planning to just hit us up we're really excited to start like moving forward uh or helping projects move forward and um yeah that's it my name is Luis
- 30:16
and this is Memphis thanks Luis um so we actually have a few minutes our next session doesn't start till 2 25.
- 31:33
's on thank you good morning everyone all right can you guys hear me Yay good morning welcome to day two this is our silence day so you need the headphones to listen um so kicking us off this morning we have James Davies uh joining us to talk about trade buy to defy so I'm going to bring him on stage to get started
- 32:37
excellent great at least a few people can hear me I hope can you hear me good good all right they put the first slide up for me already first presentation on the panel and it's not raining through the ceiling so we're off to a good start so uh I am going to be talking to you about some of the work on dexes that we've been doing but I'm just going to talk about you know not just our decks because frankly that's not interesting enough to talk about just somebody's project it's more interesting to hear the history and the
- 33:09
thoughts and the ideas and the motivation behind it so if you're coming in put the headphones on people okay I like our slides we've got some good designers hopefully that pays over into the ux this is uh if I say anything and you buy our token and I was wrong it's your fault not mine so just to be clear uh so we are going to be building a native trustless decks on here we think that Nia really needs some more in innovation in the core ecosystem and one of the things that would really benefit
- 33:49
it is an effective deck springing more than just an amm having a better functionality better ux and and a lot more going on there so we're we're building this I'm going to come and show you road maps and bits at the end but we're going to come in and talk about November for a launch and then January with a lot more features coming in and I'll talk about our upgrade pass and that type of thing but what I want to
- 34:11
talk about is I want to talk about exchanges more broadly and Dex is and what dexes are so why am I here you know what gives me the right to stand in front of a group of well-educated people and tell them about the history of the exchanges uh what credentials do we have so let me start by saying who's stood behind this business and who our Founders are that's got us going and I think the most interesting one is last year Christensen
- 34:43
uh not to say Matthias if you see this back and you see the video of it later you are very interesting but uh Lars founded saxo Bank uh he's a a very successful Danish businessman he was a lot of the money behind 1kx he's a Lavina in a lot of projects has his own blockchain with the association going as well so an absolute ton of things and that means that we are really enabled and we've got all the right contacts to be able to reach out and understand it so this team this VX
- 35:13
three of us on the on the management team of it there's a full big capable team behind it there are a little over 30 people dedicated to it but we're 140 people inside of our Venture Builder so we're a decent sized business now one of the reasons I'm here and talking to you on stage and not Ivan uh and not Marion or Natalia or any of the rest of our team is because the majority of the Marine keys and they can't leave the country so there are two of us that
- 35:39
aren't based in the Ukraine uh myself and Natalia even Matthias are Danish CEO is based in Quito he's able to come and go whereas most of the team are not uh just to touch on Ivan for a second he was a bit Fury he worked on the exodium blockchain alongside the Aurora founder so the two of them were the two partners that were looking after the design and the build out of that technology and
- 36:04
exxonium so we come from right in that core infrastructure how do you build rust and this sort of ecosystem building so what is a DEX I I was not sure whether I should explain what a deck is in a set of slides at a conference that's to a group of people who should really understand web3 and be able to put it concretely and then I talked to a lot of people as I went around last night at the pool party and I'm really convinced that I do need to put these slides in so let's talk about the difference between
- 36:36
I've got notes Here I should roll my notes forward though so the centralized exchanges the groups like binance and Gates uh coinbase and Kraken there's quite a big variation between them and Dex the whole point of this is to have control that Central piece of web 3 about controlling your own data and controlling your own Destiny for what happens because you're relying only on what you can test and verify for yourselves in smart contracts so this feels like the future the
- 37:09
question is where the smart contracts can be built up to the level where they can give you the same service and the same feel as you get out of a centralized Exchange so that's where a DEX project isn't just a set of smart contracts it's a ux it's a UI it's in fact the team that wraps and operates that and provides you with a really nice interface to be able to access those smart contracts so obviously we're putting the whole thing
- 37:33
together lots of stuff up here I'm not going to read so if you really want to follow you're gonna have to read everything with me so how does the Dex work will you build liquidity pools a liquidity pool is a smart contract that has assets whether they are crypto assets or nfts or any form of rap token non-wrap tokens committed to them into a pool that can be exchanged for another one and these started initially being built
- 38:05
with what we refer to as automated market makers and these are built on a Model where we keep the ratio of these constants and as one of them is exchanged for the other by somebody wanting to do a swap the ratio is fixed and that means that the the value of them moves on a sliding scale up and down and that was our first generation markers they're all still amm based but that was our first Marketplace and you can see things like uniswap V1 is the classical example of an amm and I think
- 38:35
refinance I think we can talk about aspects of concentrated liquidity but essentially it's an amm and that's great it's the starting point for a lot of things a lot of different people coming in and wanting different aspects of those to use them together so then came the generation two amms oh generation two dexes sorry generation two dexes things like unisaw V3 which tried to deal with the issue that a lot of liquidity committed to a DEX isn't
- 39:08
being utilized by pushing a slightly tighter price range around the utilization aspect and allowing therefore more of it to be in action at any one point in time it is still a bug there of this form of decks there are lots of liquidity is not put to work at any point in time curve curve and balancer are really really interesting white papers much less interesting actual products the white papers talk about how you could
- 39:37
get the mathematical balancing correctly of large pools of different forms of assets and in reality you get three acids which are basically wrap forms of the same thing sat in a pool against each other as a stable coin they haven't worked in practice whether they've not worked because people haven't had an education path and the ux uis not good enough to step them through and they may work in the future or they haven't
- 40:01
worked because the game theory optimization of the maths means that that's not how people want to trade it's up to people to take away but I don't think the solution long term to Dex is is to follow the balancer curve models so that gives us a bunch of issues mostly around Capital efficiency still to address but ease of access is there and the one thing that absolutely doesn't work on any of these so far has been supporting of the liquid token so if you have a project and it's not a stable coin or a top tier project the
- 40:33
chance that a DEX is going to work well with you and effectively with you and give you liquidity is near zero and I'm going to talk about how we address that in a minute so the last part the main role of the decks here versus centralized exchange it's the web three piece it's the independence so this is critical so we will be trustless I mean we will be properly run down under a dow and
- 40:56
trustless that's where we're going you'll be able to then rely and verify what we're doing so I want to take a step back in history I want to say the world did not start from an exchange perspective when we got to amms there's a whole history before that and there are tons of lessons out there and we should take those lessons and bring them in and a few of the things that I'm going to talk about that we've brought
- 41:21
in are lessons out of trade fight so this is my favorite slide because we spent a lot of time getting the design right but we start back with instanet in 1969 uh launching the first trading like the pink sheets so the trading of the second tier of liquid stocks uh via computers in New York in 1969. you can see this rolls through with the building of the first platforms to take orders uh to the floor of the New York Stock Exchange
- 41:51
but really I think the biggest piece that happened was eurx launching in 96 and then somewhere around 98 it had its big thing and this was the first derivatives exchange trading electronically and it basically ended the pits and the pits were places where people put on a colored jacket signed them in wave cards and actually having been working in the Chicago pits back in the late 90s mostly we just flick the
- 42:16
cards at each other because there wasn't a lot of trading and the few times a day there was trading uh it was certainly not optimal and the world is a lot more efficient without them but they were a very fun place to be in and drink around uh I've got saxo Bank on there because I can't not with Lars as the founder and it's the FX thing but you can see we go all the way through and there's a whole load of innovation that happens between
- 42:39
96 and about 2012 with all sorts of different algorithms so if I roll on these supported so many asset classes you don't have to read this but you can get the slides later if you want from me I one of the interesting aspects when you talk to people who are building dexes is that they look at the trade fire world as if it was either a stock exchange or a simple derivatives Market there's a plethora of different options and opportunities and trading platforms
- 43:10
available in trade fight and they operate in different way of their matching algorithms operate in different way some of the mathematics around how you do implied price prices with full chain implied to link together different liquidity pools there's just a body of literature on how to do that without falling for NP hard issues how you solve the salesman problem in elegant ways the spliny across different protocols we can lift those they're completely applicable
- 43:36
to Smart contracts they have not been done in any of the smart contracts today the the way that people link pools for smart order routing is probably about the same level that financial markets were in about 99 2000 it's really basic so there's loads we can do with that I like Leverage I think the key to making defy successful in the long run for the trading of lots of assets and really bringing money into the ecosystem is how do you get leverage right and that starts with things like Risk waterfalls
- 44:09
and if you don't know what a risk waterfall is and you've read about leverage you don't know your risk uh and I wouldn't trade on that one okay so there's so much there for this community to learn and build and we can do it better because we don't have a legacy of technology to build it from but we can still steal all their ideas okay so this is something I really want to see going forward and then there's a ton of stuff on our liquid trading and I'm going to come in
- 44:34
there's also all of these other roles Prime Brokers people sponsoring the trading of money for each other loads and loads of great things on that so now the sales pitch bit what are we building so we're we think we're built differently it really really helps to have this larger team to be able to go right I'm going to do the Marty Kagan style of product squads with this group we're going to have a completely flat infrastructure amongst them we're going to be devops led and we're going to
- 45:05
really prize getting our architecture right and rolling through with a really good uh CI CD pipeline where we can build a pace across this so that type of stuff happens and that means that when we build stuff we know how well it works so we will be building these adaptable liquidity pools these are smart contracts that can basically do everything curve balancer unit swap V3 can in a single smart contract and when
- 45:28
I contribute liquidity I say how I want that liquidity to be treated to that smart contract when I come in with a swap and I want to do a swap I just say what's the best rate that I can get to swap and we bring no fragmentation no different forms of liquidity pools for different forms of liquidity submission all in one no and therefore the swapper always gets the best rate so we have these adaptable
- 45:53
liquidity pools we've worked quite hard on these obviously we'll push them off into GitHub we think we'll see them everywhere because we think that's the the next natural step in the development of Dex is we think it's fairly obvious to go there but no one's yet done it uh upgrade path we're going to make sure that our smart contract layer is extensible not replaced every time we do a new version
- 46:16
meaning that when we make a new release you can recompile against that new version and you may have to add some new enumerations if you want to push in a different form of liquidity but you don't have to go back to the drawing board as a liquidity provider and rebuild everything again so we have Skynet on board one of the big liquidity providers in defy and this has been their real bug Bearer so we talked to people like GSR this is my background
- 46:40
though the virtues the get-go's the world how do we reduce the pain for people who are making automated connections so as we can innovate without them getting left behind on old versions and our liquidity getting fragmented so this is very Central to what we're doing so improving it means building it in a multi-layer form so you come in at the top layer fire what is is anyone familiar with the design patterns book for building code now that okay good I can see some nodding this is
- 47:12
the facade pattern okay this is just the facade pan so we are putting the facade pattern on top you come in and you can touch our smart contracts and they hide you from the complexity sat below those we have a liquidity management layer which is like a fund manager you can put your a collection of tokens into it but it will then distribute those into the purples not try and run them as a single pull it's using a simple heuristic it will build us and push themselves out
- 47:38
it's actually a lovely second tier Market here that anyone that wants to build their own heuristic push it into the liquidity pool and then charge the people who are using it a fee for using their better optimized heuristic can do that so we'll be able to innovate around it and let the community build out how those pools should operate but give them the framework and then at the bottom we have the adaptable liquidity pools that I've already spoken about
- 48:02
it's a lot to do in 20 minutes so I think I went on too I above all of those liquidity management pools we've got one more layer which is liquidity farming it's really really clear that if there are pools of tokens committed normally there's one token that if it was added would push up the apy of all of these different balls typically it's stable coin if I'm someone who's contributing that liquidity I do not want to have to go through all of the pools and work out which of these pools is the one where I
- 48:36
will get the biggest bang for my buck I want something to put it in and have it run a heuristic on a regular basis I'll pick how often when I put it in and then it does the distribution for me and re-optimizes my stable coin okay so that's there that will give us liquidity farming so liquidity farming fund like liquidity management adaptable liquidity pools all sad under a facade or with a great UI ux sat on top
- 49:01
okay in liquid markets this is something that bugs the hell out of me if I've got a token and it's not a top tier token price determination is a real pain we talk about uh we talk about concentrated liquidity what we mean is a concentrated price range so as well as a concentrated price range what we're going to offer is a concentrated time range so we will allow contracts to set up
- 49:31
periodic auctions for a token typically it'll be a second tier token versus a stablecoin let's say it's once a week and that project once a week comes up at three o'clock in the afternoon on a Friday actually be by estimated block height but once let's say three o'clock on a Friday that comes up and you can use your social media channels to drive the attention to say this is when it's
- 49:55
going to happen for a period of a definable period but say 45 minutes before that period people can put their rates in for swaps that they want to make for their token and then when we get to the point uh of the token of the exchange happening that will give you a determined price and then we will allow a determined rate then we will allow follow-on trades for a period of say half an hour afterwards but only at that rate within that pool and that gives us price determination for pools and allows
- 50:26
us to bring all the focus together so as people are think not having to think about liquidity provision constantly on illiquid tokens and we think that will be a massive Boon to the ecosystem to see those going on so the last new addition that we're adding is we're going to put some focus on removing the escrow so if I'm doing very large trades and I've done a lot of very large trades as a broker you have
- 50:49
to find a legal agent who will hold cash sites or will stand in the middle when I give someone will give them usdc or usdt somebody else will give them Bitcoin or Nero or a lot of a token and they will collect them together and you both have to trust this party and pull them on it's classic smart contracts yet it doesn't exist so it'll be there in the interface it's not gonna be in version one it'll be there in the interface and you'll be able to come in and use this as a route to to
- 51:14
manage very large trades so we have a road map I'm not going to over concentrate on the road map but the core things we're coming out in Q4 will go one version onto test Net One version onto mainnet what we're really focused on is trying to get V2 up by the end of the year uh we are at the point where we're already out with Banshee and starting to go through code audits we're not you know this is not pie in the sky I would say
- 51:39
90 of it is operating from their perspective trying to build out our testing pools and then we really really want to run later with the push to do the Dow during next year Advisory Board is a veritable who's who of the scientific literature if you've looked at anything on dexes you'll know the names bass and Bernardo uh Michael Jackson's the ex-scribe guy Jordy fine from Skynet
- 52:02
Skynet trading behind us parabolica behind us there are some really really big names that have signed on we've closed our seed round we've got to go to a big conference in San Francisco that's a clue for one of the people who are backing us so we've got some really big names for some native stable coin on there and they're all in we're done we'll go out with the private round and then we'll put out the press and make the launch the website's been
- 52:25
up for one day we will come out and put more press but I'm very happy to meet anyone who wants to talk uh so and on that thank you I think that's five seconds yeah thank you very much thank you James thanks for dropping knowledge on daxes all right we have another session coming up next um as we get ready for that just want to give you guys some quick announcements of some other sessions today on the
- 53:01
layer one stage we have Marik speaking with the executives of sale GP talk about how they're revolutionizing Sports and web3 so now I don't want to miss that one um and we're getting ready so we have the gentleman joining us from capsule uh capsule social to talk about the tools they're building to decentralized publishing so let's bring them up hello hello so hello everybody Welcome to our presentation about capsule uh
- 53:39
so near Khan it's fun to be here it's such an experience so let's dive in directly to the details so I'm Chris this uh I'm the lead backing engineer at capsule social and this is my colleague Jack who is the front-end engineer and behind all the the things that he's going to explain you right now yeah so if you're at blockchain we're building a long form publishing platform that encourages uh just thoughtful
- 54:12
discourse in the in longer form content uh we have coupled this with social Dynamic features that encourage virality such as reposting quote reposting commenting most features that you may have seen on traditional social media platforms all of this is built on a decentralized architecture underneath so why do we need a decentralized architecture uh basically our platform is a fully decentralized system we did
- 54:45
that to achieve what we call censorship content resilience guarantees so Corner resilience guarantees are things that protect content that was posted on the platform for from Facts like Shadow Banning or random takedowns that we see on traditional social media led by big Tech right now uh we achieved these through a combination of a smart contract transparent moderation systems and a community governance that will be rolled out soon on the platform why we do that one of our color values is protecting
- 55:19
free speech and we believe by that by providing a platform for sensible discourse we are going to be able to uh make the world just a little bit better to be honest most web3 applications out there don't have a focus I don't have a focus on the user interface at blockchain that was we we put that at the Forefront of our development efforts uh building a easy to use intuitive user interface with similar features that
- 55:50
you've seen on popular platforms on web2 such as uh the ability to have subscriptions and pay via Fiat or cryptocurrency all of this is governed through a transparent Community governance model using near smart contracts transparent algorithms on the news feed are completely open source so you're able to go into the source code and dive deep in so we don't do anything super shadowy like big Tech um yeah so all of this is built on uh
- 56:23
the decentralized technologies that Christos will talk more about so how it works when we were designing the decentralized architecture what we wanted to prioritize was the to give the ability to our others to do transactional transactional uh web transactionalist trans uh posts like when would they do post something on the platform we don't want them to spend money to do that so we created an architecture that combines uh the uh the guarantees that a blockchain platform
- 56:57
would provide uh with uh the versatility of a web 2 platform so whenever another Boston article the article is lives on ipfs and it connects uh so the author connects to one of our decentralized nodes he sends the article there uh the article is processed validated according to his near private key so well they sign the the articles with their keys and then when it is validated it is propagated to a network of nodes that we
- 57:27
own and soon our node hosters will own too so uh we use we've used the decentralized database to achieve this and uh so whenever the user fetches this article back uh on his browser actually you have the user launches a fully fledged ipfs node on the browser so everything is peer-to-peer there is no centralized service that controls the Articles everything is fetched from ipfs and this way we can achieve all those
- 58:01
content resilience guarantees that we want in March of 2020 we launched our public beta where we introduced invite codes and we removed those invite codes in June of 2022 and we've seen a steady growth of a week a steady weekly growth of about 128 cents last June we in order to share the talent of our illustrious writers that are on blockchain we send out a Weekly Newsletter to uh our email subscribers highlighting their interests and also
- 58:42
just the talent on blockchain so what's next what's coming next on blockchain basically uh we are very happy to announce that we will soon have email notifications on the platform so our writers will be able to uh engage with their audience via newsletter and uh keep them keep them up to date with what our new articles they have posted and we want to focus a lot on content discoverability that is something that
- 59:15
we see other platforms are lacking on web3 so we want to be able for our for our readers to follow tags uh to build an extended search functionality where you can search through our articles base and apart from that we want to give to our others the choice to uh choose where their content is uh shown so we want to be to give the ability to others to invent posts into their website without uh compromising on any uh on all those
- 59:47
sensory guarantees that we provide and we also want in-app notifications and crypto payments which is something that will give the ability to others to remunerate their hard efforts uh in a more easy way and also tipping and utility and governance token that will provide an incentivization for our node hosters this will be coming up in the next semester most probably and we'd love to hear your ideas and
- 1:00:17
suggestions actually we are open to any Community feedback uh we value a lot of the our community of others and readers we'd love to in Virtual on blockchain today feel free to scan the QR code here or visit blockchain.app we'd love for you to stop by our booth too if you have any questions comments or concerns or any product features or requests you can follow us on Twitter where we uh just released kind of product updates uh we have a Discord with the active writers Community to
- 1:00:52
network with fellow writers also on LinkedIn too if you're a professional writer or just a you know writing poems anything there's a place for you on blockchain even just reading thoughtful articles too yeah thank you all so if you I know it's a silent thing but uh we really want to promote sensible discourse so if you have any questions we are here to ask we have a lot of time so
- 1:01:24
if there are any questions we are glad to answer yeah we can but I want to give a special thank you to our distributed team across the world uh our illustrious front end team Lilian thank you for creating this PowerPoint presentation Henry for the graphics uh we've got John had uh John Tess CEO Nadeem Marco who else David irshad Raul ashitosh thank you all we couldn't do it without you cool
- 1:02:07
all right thank you thank you Jack thank you Christos thank you all right everyone we are gonna wait till 12 40 to start the next session so you have a few minutes to have a little break thank you you're welcome hello hello can you guys hear me you need your headphones for this one
- 1:03:12
all right this is the proof of Sound Stage so you definitely need headphones to hear so if you see people walk in point at the headphones um Okay cool so next up we have uh Fair Samir joining from fair to talk about nfts and social change so let's welcome him on stage hello hello can you all hear me okay everything sounds good fantastic hello everyone thank you for coming my name is Samir batch I am the marketing director at fair and today
- 1:03:47
we'll be talking about nfts and social impact now this is kind of a broad topic so at the end of the presentation today hopefully you'll have a better idea of the nft landscape the social impact landscape and what we are doing to help bring those two together now where do we start so it's no surprise that Society is moving towards a digital era if I ask anybody here in the audience to pull out their phone I'm
- 1:04:11
pretty sure every single one of you can reach into your pocket and pull out a smartphone almost anything could be done these days from our phones whether it's banking finding love through apps such as Bumble or Tinder navigating the globe you know if this conference was 20 years ago it would be kind of difficult to navigate around the city find the conference but now at a touch of a button you can click on the Uber app and find a ride anywhere in the city whether it's social media I know a lot of users
- 1:04:36
uh social media especially here use Twitter some of our parents probably use Facebook to connect with all friends a very prevalent member of our society these days and lastly this talk is about nfts and social impact so we have art whether it's creating art or selling art now this next slide we were debating if we should put this in or not because it is kind of comical and I would like to say that we do not actually own this board ape it was taken from Business
- 1:04:59
Insider so we do not claim any rights to that whatsoever but we wanted to add this in here because we not only wanted to Showcase what art looks like Through the Ages but how we as humans have adapted and created different Technologies and means of creating art whether it was 50 000 years ago creating wall paintings from mud until we developed tools to create paint brushes and pigments to create fantastic works of art like the Mona Lisa from Da Vinci
- 1:05:24
and now in the digital age we have tools such as illustrator we have Photoshop we have iPads iPads to create these beautiful artworks that we can now sell on the blockchain now this is fantastic and all so we wanted to go over some statistics for you now that we're talking about the nft concept here I'm sure many of you have heard these numbers are similar numbers from different sources and you're going
- 1:05:48
to hear it again for me unfortunately so the first number we're going to go over is that as of July 2022 the crypto economy was evaluated at about 1 trillion USD a huge number and for those of you who don't know a trillion is one with 12 zeros at the end of it a massive number and that actually accounts for 1 20th of the U.S economy which is one of the largest economies in the world the second number we wanted to go over was
- 1:06:13
the total nft sales in the year 2021 and according to Business Insider that number is 41 billion U.S not quite as much as the total crypto economy as of last year but still a huge number compared to that of the Year 2020 where the sales were 50 billion US dollars and now looking forward the nft market growth until 2026 is projected at 146 billion that's a compound annual growth
- 1:06:37
rate of about 32 percent if anybody is fantastic at math here please don't quote me on that it's a ballpark number so bear with me on that one so this is fantastic Samir I bet you're all wondering what are we what are we doing here what is the question what are we trying to prove so from the statistics we can see that the crypto and nft markets are clearly huge but what we want to know is how much of this money is actually being used for social good and charitable
- 1:07:02
causes how much of this money that is created that is generated in these crypto wallets is being used for people that need the help people you know that are working with communities outside of North America and just social good in general well fortunately for you we actually have the answer to that as well now I'm not sure how familiar uh most of you are with the giving block but the giving block is currently the largest crypto donation platform online and we
- 1:07:25
have pulled some statistics from them to give you a little ballpark idea of how much money is actually being donated in the crypto and nft spaces so according to the giving block as of December 2021 approximately approximately 70 million USD was donated to the giving blog in crypto donations and about 12.3 million of that was given as nft donations now this might seem like a quite large number but once we
- 1:07:50
compare that to the previous two slides it only actually represents about 0.007 off the total crypto crypto market and only about 0.03 percent of the nft market not a huge amount at all so what are we doing to fix this if you haven't already noticed by the title or my shirt we are from fair and we believe that everyone has a role in making the world a better place we are an nft Marketplace built on near that provides an opportunity for artists to support to support social impact
- 1:08:22
organizations Charities and non-profit organizations we do this by giving the artists a platform to upload their Creations to fair and donate a percentage of that towards a charity or organization of their choosing and a little later on I'll go over the process and how it works some of our financials the transaction models all that fun stuff but before we get into that you're probably wondering why Fair why would we go to Fair where we can just donate it
- 1:08:48
to the giving blog or we can just donate in fiat currency once we convert it or any of that stuff so first of all we're eco-friendly sorry we built on near for a reason we worked with a lot of Charities that are eco-sustainable and eco-friendly and you know want to help the environment and such so we wanted to build on a platform that is carbon neutral and sustainable which is why we
- 1:09:09
chose near secondly we have a minimum of 50 donations now there are some competitors in the space that are built on other blockchains but their minimum donations are only about five or ten percent so our value proposition here is that we're actually focused on social impact causes we have a minimum of 50 donations going towards the Charities off the art is choosing and lastly our ease of use we understand that most
- 1:09:33
Charities and non-profit organizations are very web to focused and are not necessarily into the crypto economy or know too much about crypto so we wanted to develop a platform where everybody can use a platform where artists can use that are not crypto native that Charities that are not crypto natives can use and people can just come to the website and purchase art as if they were doing it on a web 2 platform on a web 3 space now
- 1:09:55
our mission our vision our values so our mission is essentially to connect Charities artists and supporters to the crypto economy and each other our vision is to empower Global participation in an environment that supports social good using blockchain technology and lastly our values are captured by our commitment to fairness promoting social good and environmental responsibility
- 1:10:17
now I cannot elaborate on these slides because we spent a long time trying to make these as concise as possible so I'm going to move on to the next slide from here our user base from what you've heard so far I think it's pretty obvious obvious or evident who our user base is first of all we have impact organizations who are at the core of fair we provide them an opportunity to showcase their unique Vision to
- 1:10:41
artists and the world and provide them a platform to tell the world what makes them special and why you should donate to them secondly we have for artists and creators a space to upload and sell their digital art Creations while supporting a charity or a non-profit organization off their choosing and that they want to support and lastly we have the donors and supporters people who want to provide impact by purchasing art and also making a contribution to a
- 1:11:06
charity that they love or maybe an artist that they love that supports that charity the process how does it work well I'm pretty sure most of you know how an NFC Marketplace works and fair is no different the artist uploads their creation to fair and choose an organization that they want to support and the proceeds uh get donated at the points of the transaction so a donor will come to Fair they will view our
- 1:11:31
Marketplace like any other Marketplace on near or any other blockchain and they can search by Charities that they want to support or cool art or any of that stuff and once they purchase the Arts on Fair the transaction is split and half of the proceeds or more depending on the Artist's Choice will go towards the charity and the artists now the transaction model here I've explained this quite a lot in the past two days the people at the booth but this kind of
- 1:11:54
provides a much better representation of what the splits look like it's easier to follow once you can actually see the models how it's mapped out on a little graph so our Revenue model basically on the original sale and subsequent sales Fair takes a 2.5 Market fee and The Artisan the charity split the rest so once again the artist has a minimum of 50 donations going towards that charity or if they're feeling very generous they can donate the rest towards the charity
- 1:12:21
itself now we also wanted to promote and encourage people to you know trade nfts and keep the subsequent sales going so we also have transaction fees on the secondary market for the artists and the trend and the Charities to make money as well so we like to give the owner of the art the most incentive to actually trade the art so 80 off the sale will go to the owner of the art but similarly to the original sale the artist can choose
- 1:12:44
from 10 to 20 off the remainder to go towards them and the charity of their choosing so we also wanted to highlight some key Partnerships that we have been working very closely with over the past six months or so during our soft launch the first one we wanted to highlight is the last door Recovery Center we are a Canadian based company so we do work with smaller Canadian Charities and
- 1:13:07
communities uh just to sort of promote you know the smaller Charities and give them a platform to leverage social good and what they do and you know how people can help make an impact through them so the lasso Recovery Center is a BC or British Columbia based organization and they provide addiction recovery service services to people off the BC and Vancouver area and they've been doing this for 35 years they also make some
- 1:13:31
really cool art in which the CEO has minted and put on fare for sale so if you do want to go check it out you should definitely do that if you're into purchasing nfts the second one we want to focus on is while Tomorrow Fund they protect restore and rewild land in strategic and ecologically important areas and they do a lot of Hands-On work in South America and Africa they're always going back and forth a fantastic group of people we work very closely
- 1:13:56
with them and the last we want to go over is not a charity partnership but actually an artist Collective so Collective 509 was founded by a individual who was haitian-born and lives in New York called Valerie noisette she is a fantastic artist and her and another haitian-born member have founded Collective 509 and what they do is an artist Collective of 80 or 90 individuals um and they promote their art through
- 1:14:18
galleries in Haiti in New York and we want to sort of bring that to the digital space so we've partnered with Collective 509 and their art is now listed on Fair and we're trying to get as many artists from that Collective on our platform as possible to really showcase their talent to the world and what they do to support their cause and Haiti we also want to go over some ecosystem Partnerships
- 1:14:41
um we have recently announced a partnership with B together uh the founder Claudia is actually here in the audience she's right over there and she will be presenting next uh be together have a very similar vision and Mission To Us in which they connect Charities artists and donors to other NFC marketplaces in support of social good through their nfts they are in the near ecosystem and we thought it would be a great fit in which we can share resources and really expand together in
- 1:15:05
the near ecosystem and outside of the near ecosystem and she is talking next so please do stay tuned for that as well now you're probably wondering wondering what sort of partnership benefits are there for fair first of all there's no startup costs it costs nothing for an artist or a charity to actually sign up to Fair secondly there's ongoing benefits as we outlined previously with subsequent sales we want to promote the trading up
- 1:15:29
nfts and you know money continuously going into the hands of Charities and the creators itself also we have spotlights for Charities and artists that are partnered with fair you know which we promote on our marketing channels we have a space in our learning portal online on Fair where you can actually see the Articles and it gives a little bit of a background story to the Charities and the artists themselves now for artists specifically we have flexible donations as I mentioned before
- 1:15:53
there is a minimum of 50 percent going towards a charity off their choice but artists can choose how much off that donation goes towards a charity they can choose from 50 to 100 giving them flexible options speaking of flexible options we have management options for Charities itself so we understand that many Charities are not crypto native they're very web 2 based they're very old school they're very scared of crypto and they don't want Hands-On with the wallets and the approving and the minting so what we did
- 1:16:23
was we created four tiers of service in which it ranges from us handling everything from the approvals to the wallet handling to setting up their wallet and everything to do with their account or we can let the Charities that are crypto native and web3 based handle their wallets handle the art approvals and everything else now before we get on to the last couple of slides I did want to give a huge
- 1:16:47
shout out to the entire team at Fair we are a small team but they have been working tires tirelessly over the past year to build Fair uh outside of their regular jobs doing this just because we all share a same vision and the same value to actually make the world a better place and you know bring the charity charitable giving towards the crypto world and you can catch Ben Alex and myself at nircon and Ben is actually
- 1:17:11
sitting in the back over there with a cool hat on um and yeah just wanted to give a huge shout out to the team so before we go on to our last slide what do we want to see in the future so we've already established that statistics for charitable giving in the crypto space is very low and our end goal is really to inspire people in the crypto space in the near ecosystem and the nft space to
- 1:17:34
start promoting social good and giving more towards charities lastly I just wanted to say that we actually just launched Fair officially yesterday so if you want to check out the marketplace or you know see some of the Charities or artists that we work with please do come to the marketplace or follow us on socials it would mean a huge deal to us and we really thank you all for coming today and supporting us
- 1:17:59
and check us out at our booth afterwards if you have time thank you everyone okay this is a silent stage so if you see someone not wearing a headphone just point it out to them uh we're gonna go ahead and get started sorry for being a couple minutes late we have Eugene who's gonna come up to talk about decentralized social welcome Eugene woo hell can you hear me okay all right um my name is Eugene I'm gonna talk today about social Aid and what I call
- 1:18:37
it's a one stop closer to the open web it's about me in the past I used to be an engineer worked at Google on Google Plus worked at Facebook and was competitive programmer but after joining here I started working on stuff like uh avocado Berry Club potato and open Wiki and now I'm known as Eugene the Dream well like mob.nir So today we're going to talk about social so what is a social and web 2 so this is actually we start with the corporation
- 1:19:17
and the corporation creates the application which is used by the users who create data and then the data is used by the application but it's actually owned by the corporations so what happens to the developers developers actually back for the data through the apis but they get tracked by the perforation and that's pretty much what happens so when we move to Social and web 3 we actually start with the
- 1:19:50
developers to build applications and the application is used by the users and users create data but data is used by the applications but data actually owned by the users and not owned by the anyone else so data is actually used by the developers as well because it's public and what also happens is applications can be reused and we see a lot of Forex happening on web3 so what about Corporation and actually being said so why do we need the social now so if you look at the web
- 1:20:28
series of web 2 you have like five different profiles and five different networks like all have different icons different names Sasha is actually lucky that he has like a name that no one else has so it's hard to like have a Blocker on the username but if you like username is short like John Smith you will be like bad luck finding you on different Networks so in web 3 we actually start as a four applications let's say Paris tamago I
- 1:20:58
mean base and art fans so they all have a different way to edit profile and they also have a different way to create a social graph and then they also have a different social feeds so all of them had to build this but also like a bunch of stuff like notifications comments search and like even recommendations all of this have to be built separately and not connected this is not what the web series should be and that's why I'm
- 1:21:28
here to help so what is social Aid socialite is actually a social data protocol that I'm building on here and it consists of a bunch of components so first is a social DB it's a smart contract where the data is stored then it's a set of Standards how to represent the data there like specific schemas then it's an API server where you can retrieve the data quickly out of the contracts because like car PC are not designed for this and finally a viewer that's a front-end
- 1:22:04
framework to read and write data if you don't want to like build your own application so social DB is a key value three store so it's basically a smart contracts smart contract it has a personal data storage so that each data is stored by the user key so the user is um controlling their data they also own this and they cover the cost for the storage of the data it has a json-like representation which is fairly simple for JavaScript Developers
- 1:22:45
it doesn't have any specific schema Beyond this so the contract doesn't enforce it and it can be sharded by the account ID a standard you can think about this as like an ft standard it basically just a way how we I all agreed how to read data from nft so the standard Define schema so for example how would you store a profile there and uh you have a communities who Define the standards so they can come up with a new way to store a profile and then later upgrade it by adding new Fields so let's
- 1:23:21
say we all have a new storage layer called makine and we like go there and store data there now instead of ipfs so standards may involve and the contract doesn't have to change it stays immutable and this is what we want we don't want like someone to have to go to the contract and redesign it completely for the new storage so an API backend it basically synchronizes to a near blockchain it
- 1:23:47
indexes historical data so if you rewrite something it has still access to the previous data it understands standard so for example you may do I don't know autocomplete about your connections like who you follow and then give me a name and you it's allowed to complete to the account ID it can be a Break Free it can be upgraded frequently so when the new standard comes up it can be like quickly restart because it's not part of the blockchain and it's open source so if someone
- 1:24:18
writes a bad server you can launch your own server and it needs to be built so the viewer is actually a front-end framework uh it needs a better name and it also like gonna be a demo and it's still in development so first let's start with social DB that's actually why it's called the social DB or social Aid it's because a play on o8db and that's why it's called social Lloyd so here's actually technical part so if you're familiar with near CLA that's how you would write data there you call the
- 1:24:58
contract you pass the account ID you want to uh operate from then you pass some initial data or initial payment for the storage for this user if it's a new user then you say adjacent data which starts with your account ID and then a bunch of keys for example this profile uh what about a read API you have a method get that takes a pattern for example double stars like recursive expansion so when you execute it you get
- 1:25:31
the data that you just wrote which is fairly simple then it has an extra API called exploring it retrieves the keys of the uh data under this press pattern so for example this is going to give keys under the profile that exists without a recursive expansion and you can for example give me all accounts that have a profile and it will retrieve you the data like this so that's about the
- 1:26:01
as much about contract as needed I'm not going to talk about permissions now to save some time so let's get to the demo and here's how it looks when it's like three days old so you start and log in with your near account and once you've done this and the application now has knows your account ID so it can display the profile that I just put through the CLI and expand on the image then you can edit a profile
- 1:26:33
trade from this viewer and you can later click save it generates a new transaction which passes a new data that needs to be written you approve it as you can see the transaction doesn't cost near that much anymore because the storage already paid so once you approve it you get the new data so you just rename the the account ID so you can view a profile of this without editing and then
- 1:27:06
you basically what you can do next and this is the interesting part you can Fork the component you basically click a button and say okay you want to edit the profile and the way it works it's completely open source so every widget here has a code that is also stored on the same data structure that allows you quickly create new applications by reusing the previous application written
- 1:27:34
by someone else so you can add a bunch of stuff like you can add a new class then you can make it like rounded then it also has properties that can be passed into this component from outside and that allows you to basically make it a bit more stylish so the potential of this is pretty large the interesting part is on the left it looks like a JavaScript and react but it's actually not a real JavaScript through eval the way it's done is this
- 1:28:13
is an interpreter for running on running that parses this JavaScript and react and renders the component in more secure way so you don't have access to any of the like local storage or window operations and we can add extra components so finally once you kind of satisfied with the widget that you did you just save it it's another transaction where the code just flies to the same data source under your account ID you approve it and the component becomes
- 1:28:44
live on the minute so anyone by the link of this component can render it and interact with this instantly so here's just like profile that we built that displays your profile instead of someone else profile so that's kind of a demo that I have today but we're gonna dig a bit into the how this all works so here's an example of the profile code and if you're familiar with JavaScript and react it looks very similar you start with the
- 1:29:16
properties that passed in so for example an account ID then you have a custom function that reads this data from the database or like the social DB uh so it hides all the complexity of an ear call then you can pass some extra and it renders an image which is a GSX react so this is the component that was modified in a demo it changed properties their context the context is the account ID that you logged in with into the viewer and it has a class
- 1:29:48
you can also write this slightly different and this is the empirical part about the how the widget can be composed you can just say hey I want to like account ID from the context but instead of writing the exact new widget you just reference an exist and we should buy the name and this is as you can see on top is One account registering their own widget and it references a widget from a
- 1:30:13
different account ID so this way you can create kind of an npm library of components that are open sourced and available to everyone plus they're secure enough so here's another digit that we need to look at and this is how you actually write data to the chain through this thing and it has a simple memo editor and a button to save so the code looks like this you fetch an existing memo then you initialize the state with this
- 1:30:45
memo and you create an input where you pass the variable of the memo and that memo is actually going to be rendered if you already have it and finally you have a custom component called commit button that takes a data object that can be converted into the Json that will be passed to the chain when you click the button and that's pretty much it you can create a new social applications like this you can create a bunch of stuff you want to edit and then how to save it process it and
- 1:31:15
that that's pretty much how it all works so to summarize what is the viewer right now it basically composable and reusable widgets so you can think about I'm gonna write a widget for like how to render an image then I'm going to compose it into the widget that renders a profile with a name and maybe I'm gonna write wrap it up into a widget that has your Social Links and that's just a bunch of widgets together
- 1:31:49
um it has ability to write data and read data from the social DB it has a secure JavaScript react by running it into interpreter instead of running definitively in the browser so it doesn't have access to a lot of this stuff like your local storage which can keep your keys or cookies and you can build an app from nothing to working in one minute what needs to be built is access to the historical data like previous blocks
- 1:32:22
modules there's like a logic component so it's not rendering anything and it needs a better name so what you can build so there's a social components you I want to start this and first is Identity On chain a lot of apps as you can see use different profiles so we want to unify this so for this we need some kind of way to edit it and agree on the standards like how you would render a profile how
- 1:32:52
you store information what can be put there is SLA Inc is it a URL to the like ipfs link and like link tree for example it's like all your social info then next thing is a social graph and idea here is like you follow someone you can add an edge like say Paras follow this account ID and now every other application have access to the data that you just put so long as it's public then next is Badges and achievements so
- 1:33:24
this is what ethereum community calls cell ban tokens but it's pretty much let's say you collected 50 avocados on Berry Club I want to give you an achievement that's actually fairly easy to write you define a metadata and who are the owners of the achievement but you not store it under user account you store it under contract that gives this achievement and finally a social feed and this is
- 1:33:50
can be enabled because you have a historical data available on a chain so when you overwrite the latest post you can always reference the one before so because it's a blockchain you can recursively recover all the information you store so the latest State doesn't have to store all of you like forever history but because the blockchain store all the state from the Genesis it will
- 1:34:13
store the data and all of this needs standards uis and agreement so how you can help basically contribute to this project in one way another easiest is just try it and like play with this and give feedback so you can if you know JavaScript and react you can build new widgets and play with the data you can try to jailbreak the viewer which means I'm saying it's secure but maybe it's not so if you find a way how you can
- 1:34:46
like access a local storage from the execution you can always ping me file a report and I may give you some Bounty for this you can Define standards for the profile for the graph for the edge or whatever you want and think about if you're building a web three projects a year how you can use this tool in your project and what data will be like helpful for you finally please join the telegram groups and follow social await on Twitter
- 1:35:18
you can provide feedback or file issues on GitHub you can also help us create tutorials how to write new widgets and like maybe help with the docs uh and uh help promote this message some more applications now about this small um more developers know about this and try to play business so thank you and if you have questions you probably can find me after the talk because that's going to
- 1:35:47
be quite loud thanks thank you Gene okay thank you for that that was super interesting um okay so next we have Titus joining us from anti-social labs so we're gonna bring them up hello slides yay they were Curry so welcome everyone I'm just gonna let the ones who are leaving leave um welcome to the launch of show protocol uh which is bringing suban tokens to near tiny bit like myself I am the co-founder and head of development and social Labs
- 1:36:41
we are a deaf house working currently specifically for near if you can dream it we can build it we have already built some things that you might have heard of things like near tracker and or brand new Raffles platform that we have launched just this weekend among many other projects things like akova the new ASA collection and a variety of things now this look isn't about any of those this is about shoe protocol so what is show protocol so protocol is bringing
- 1:37:14
subband tokens to near both with a few additional things it's bringing it privacy first meaning that your data is safe on this product or your private data is protocol it is designed to be cross chain yes it's it's launching neuron first but from the ground up this is designed to Bridge across chains and work with your data variables located whether it's on Solana or whether it's on near so what are so band tokens what are svts
- 1:37:46
scds is the is a the First new web3 primitive after uh fungible with the non-fungible tokens the same way those two have launched a revolution first in D5 then in the nft craze that kind of just ended we are hoping that sbts will be a similar Revolution although more of the sensible kind sbts as opposed to representing some kind of asset that you can own as it is represent information about a soul it is it is Data linked to an account practice speaking it's a data pointer on a small
- 1:38:25
contract for a given account but you know that is boring it is meant to be a form of bringing identity and things that you are onto on the blocks and onto that three so that's is privacy first anyone who who wants to build a snowman token protocol and doesn't think about privacy is honestly kidding themselves and shouldn't and it's just generally a really bad idea I'll be going to the
- 1:38:59
reason for this in a second it's also Prem spam resistant it doesn't like you as the user is in full control over what data is and is it on there and what it others can access and that is in generally a core underlying concept of this protocol is that it is you user control based nothing happens on this protocol video data without your consent however crucially on top of this you're also building a transactional layer
- 1:39:31
transactionally in the monetary sense not in the blockchain sense meaning that you can take your personal data and give access to it to others for monetary or other gains and that is built into a protocol from its Inception but let's talk about the Privacy aspect for for a second because information on the blockchain is permanent and unmutable meaning that if there is some data at any point on the chain that will be there forever if even some devs couldn't quite comprehend this but if
- 1:40:02
if there is data that even if you try to hide it that is there and anyone can access it meaning that you have no control who has access to it and also on the other end of that if someone else creates some information about you on the Chain you have no recourse to that and so what we are building with this protocol we want to avoid all of these issues the way we do that we have three core components we have the SBT smart contract which represents the tokens on chain
- 1:40:34
then we have the SBT server that is the actual provider of that data that is off chain and then we have a separate interface for the permission smart contract which is specifically for allowing others to get access to your data in this we have three correctors we have the two canoners this is you this is the person who has some information on the blockchain but also not on the blockchain that that you want to potentially share
- 1:41:05
with others then there are two providers these are the entities The Trusted third parties running the SBT server and essentially providing a third-party form of trust about your data accessor these are users who to whom you give access to to your data importantly this is not a non-transferable nft they're having an app for Android nfts and while it had some Merit it has been rejected however svts are not like nfts they are based on
- 1:41:39
identity not ownership it is something you or as opposed to something you have and it in general has a completely different transactional model while nfds are something that you own but then can give to someone else okay so not just about FD you own and Country give to someone else is something that you own forever unmutably unchangeably however you can give access to it to others and not only can give access to others
- 1:42:10
you can give access to it to multiple people at the same time or with different levels of permission and also expertise or at least all International expertise provide an option for privacy which a an nft implementation would obviously not now how it actually works it has some it is a combination of on-chain and off-chain components it has a permissioning layer and then options for making it cross-chain starting with the SVD smart contract this is on chain this is a small project
- 1:42:42
deployed in this case on near it is a permanent record of the toca's existence but that's it that is all of the information that is on this tube and it has Koons it it has a locator to where to find the data but there is very little actual information on the token there are many reasons for it's one of them being privacy butter is storing like storing anything on the blockchain is quite expensive and especially if you
- 1:43:07
want to have this be applicable to a wide range of new users especially having any kind of course associated with having your data is is a big drawback if you're throwing people off and so we have tried to minimize this as much as possible and they're connected to this SVD smart contract we have the SBD server the SVG server handles all application it's actually knowing who the person that is trying to access some data is
- 1:43:37
utilization ensuring that only the right people can access the data and has a private data store this this being off chain is where the actual private data that is attached to that solvan token is stored now it's all that I'm good but that core utilization part is where the permissions World contract comes in this is used to Grant access to these sbts on other small contracts this is importantly reciprocution transactional meaning that you can have a a chain of transactions wherein this
- 1:44:15
is the blockchain set of transactions where you give access to your token someone else and you receive some let's say monetary reward for that importantly if this is a monetary reward royalties are paid to the SVD token providers this is quite key because that's the way they are incentivized to store and provide your data for you anyway these operations work is that if you create a permission on this smart contract then the SBD server will use this to provide access to this data on
- 1:44:49
if someone has requested to whom you have provided permissions to you importantly this is always revocable meaning that if you give access to someone you can always make them not access it anymore and it represents a many-to-many relationship in the sense that you can have multiple permissions small projects point to the same sbts and you can have this how you have the same permissions point to a variety of svts and this allows us to make this protocol
- 1:45:22
cross chain meaning that because the SVD server is chain agnostic you can have small contracts pointing to other smart contracts on a variety of chains providing complete interoperability when I say complete interoperability obviously there are quite a few oracles that potentially bridges that do have to be brought here this is why we are launching on near first in right now we
- 1:45:46
are live on near testnet the reason for it simply is because near superiority both in Dev experience and also some of the features just made some of the things that we that are including this protocol much easier to build so what can you use this for well there are a quite a large variety of potential use cases that you can see here the the first one that I have there is a verification based web3 recruitment platform we have partnered with a show
- 1:46:18
code who is already a well-established web to uh recruit or a recruitment platform and building their own chain version crypto code where your CV all of your students your entire work history is included and Minted as the secure tokens and you're able to then give access to recruiters for obviously a fee to get access to you to get access to your full CV to even chat to you essentially taking the recruiter bothers you on
- 1:46:50
LinkedIn every five seconds of via you haven't responded to their calendar request yet to them actually paying you for your time that you are spending with them to listen to their honestly not very good pitches in fact we are now building the very first version of this as part of the hackathon uh to to see they did which is actually like in practice at the a Marketplace for these for his expertise
- 1:47:15
but you can also use this for kyc know your customer instead of having to on every single different platform log in and provide your very very sensitive information you can instead have a single trusted third party to whom you do provide your your information but from that point on they vouch for you and they provide a level of trust that you can just give to anyone else who requests kyc similarly it can be a form of transferring web to to webview Identity
- 1:47:46
to app3 gone with various oauth clients that you have to sign in with your Twitter or Discord or whatever not entirely knowing what purposes you're giving away you just once verify your web webview identity onto an SVT and you can give this SBT to anyone who asks and either willing to pay the fair price or have some reward for you at their rent but you also use it for things that are
- 1:48:12
obvious and non-transferable things like game achievements you if you can give your imagery to someone else it doesn't really have the same value as opposed to you have done is that you have achieved this but because it is on an open protocol you can then use these game achievements to do things like two concated communism discords if you want to have just your moves lead players in a channel you can gate them on only if
- 1:48:36
they have a certain achievement can they enter Uso which is the classic example of of SBT so it has to be there is down voting in your down you can issue tokens to your members based on some of their characteristics and in a vote you can essentially do a decoration coefficient for everyone who's voting making more different people voting the same thing more valuable than if a very similar cohort votes and I think now that is the end of that thank you for
- 1:49:08
your attention if you want to get in touch with me I'm those if you want the labs to build some stuff for you because you can you can find the labs there this is currently live on Tesla there is an example permissions contract and there's another example uh SVT contract alongside a server running you can find everything in the docs and if you're a developer and want to build more cool
- 1:49:30
things we are hiring any questions otherwise I will leave good I believe then thank you thank you thank you Titus all right guys we have a break until 1 45 so go enjoy lunch um see some other sessions and come back here we're gonna talk about nfts hi everyone we're gonna get started with our next session Claudia is here to continue speaking about mission-driven nfts all right take it away you will hear me
- 1:50:19
yes cool so I just pretend to be in a zoom call now welcome to be together inspired by change first before we start I'd like to invite you to check the flyer that's on your seat we are going to do something special in the middle of the presentation so prepare your new wallet prepare mint paste log in and stay tuned so what are we doing um I hope I'm not going to repeat myself because Samir already told a lot about the charity work but nevertheless
- 1:50:57
um we are doing fundraising for Charities for non-profit organizations based on nfts and for now in the near ecosystem we are focusing on projects in general that are about social social and environmental topics and we really want to do an impact there because we want to contribute to a Greener cleaner and healthier world and how are we doing this we are basically building the bridge from the
- 1:51:26
non-crypted worlds to the crypto world and we are doing this through education Simplicity care and support that means for example simple stuff like how to create an ear wallet how to activate it how to create an nft how to maintain nft and this all leads to the transformation so we can onboard the Charities the artists and the investors to the near and to nft space and this whole thing creates the community that we are um working with
- 1:51:58
and our community is not only about artists or investors we also have developers marketing Specialists content writers and many many more skills in the team but the next slide is probably the most important one because we are offering you a win-win situation so as you can see here um we have the triangle of the charity the artists and the investors and also be together but these triangles artists
- 1:52:28
investor and charity because if you are part of our community you will automatically contribute to the other triangle Humanity nature and animals and how does it actually work and it's simple like with fair that Sameer explained before if an nft is sold on our store or in our store for the Charities we have a profit split that goes then directly and automatically into the wallets of the charity of the artists and of be together the same goes for the royalties of
- 1:53:01
course and with that concept we also offer full transparency on the money flow so we know exactly where money is going as an investor or as a sponsor and through that we generate this passive sorry passive and sustainable income for the Charities which is in our opinion the most important topic in our business and to empower and to strengthen our Network and also Community we partnered up with other communities and other
- 1:53:32
members from the near ecosystem for example near Ocean on top we created a pfp collection together it's called friendly Turtles and it's launched on Paris then most of our stores and that's why you need to be ready with your near wallet and logged in on mint base most of our stores are are built on mint base with all the nfts in it but that's not all we also are engaging with other communities like the harmonic Guild engagement Tau I can't list all of
- 1:54:04
them but there are more believe me and yeah as Samir introduced before we are also collaborating with fair right now so we are onboarding artists and Charities all at the same time for both companies to um yeah to enforces and strengthen the the community and use Energies and that is our community from so as you can see already International and we're very proud of that because we
- 1:54:35
just started we launched this year and we are doing a lot of non-profit work in the area of South America Europe and Africa as you can see Australia is missing so anyone from Australia here in the audience no otherwise if an awesome one please I want to talk because I want to cover this continent as well and yeah but now to the fun part so we have an nft auction plan for you today
- 1:55:06
and it is uh there is a cooler code on the flyer on your seat that you can scan where you will see the auctions that I will introduce you in the next minutes but before we start the bidding I also like to show you some partners of ours and tell you how it all started so it started in South Africa one of my favorite countries I started a fundraising campaign last year as Claudia another speed together out of love for Africa burn
- 1:55:40
Africa burn is the little sibling of burning man in the United States maybe you've heard of it and both America American men Burning Man and Africa burn are both non-profits who stand for the same values as I Do privately but also now we beat together it's about radical inclusion Each one teach one gifting sharing especially art and nature and the store actually became quite a success I was surprised because I had to be honest no clue about nfts no clue
- 1:56:12
about wallets or whatever I just tried and this is what came out of it we have 140 artists on board over a thousand nfts in the store for Africa Byrne and through that I got more involved in this crypto nft space and decided to do that for charities in general and then with the help of a new foundation and especially Asim Sheikh who is also here with I got great support and uh yeah I thought I'm gonna do this for Charities too and that's how it started
- 1:56:46
but now to the interesting part our charities we have in the ocean life and nature area voice of the oceans from Brazil they are a big big company they're tackling the plastic pollution around the globe we have a sailing Expedition and it's a program supported by the UN voila is from Ecuador and they are creating nature reserves around surf spots to show and to make sure that we still can
- 1:57:17
serve we can still be human but we still can be in the nature but taking care of it and they're also involved in reforestation projects in the rainforest and the third one also super important is Cease for life they are doing educational safaris that means they are increasing the awareness how to actually interact with animals how to live with animals in on the same planet and now get your phones ready and in your wallet this is the first queer code I mean it's
- 1:57:51
the same as you have on the flyer it's the same as on the flyer um we have these four nfts created by our artist community and in my opinion um but that's just mine um with your investment it's uh or an investment is not always only about investing in your portfolio and its potential growth it's much more than that it's if you invest in an nft of these you will actually help preserving
- 1:58:21
and preserving the nature and the animals and therefore our world so yeah keep scanning then the next area we are covering is education and all these three organizations we have two from Uganda one from South Africa and I will do a summary because they are all focusing on the same topics it's radical inclusion uh equality for all everyone deserves knowledge everyone deserves skills and
- 1:58:56
they are fighting for equality and knowledge transfer and they also help women Empower in this first growing digitalized world and here we have the nfts for the education area and this is a good example it's actually very beautiful because she did exactly that one equality for all and yeah I think the artist exactly I want to express exactly this for example the little girl over there she's standing alone uh but she actually just wants to
- 1:59:31
be surrounded by family friends and love as an orphanage and it's going to an orphanage program so we have yeah in my opinion but it's maybe just because I'm part of the community but I just love the art pieces um then third area also very important our health so for example log out from Slovenia they're helping people who have mental issues caused by the social media space or in general the screen we are spending too much time and people are bullied
- 2:00:03
especially children so they are helping and preventing uh children for to not get the mental issues out of this then we have South American initiative they are from Venezuela and they are focusing on medical support for children food supply for refugees that suffer from poverty but they also are basically in the nature area because they also have dog shelter big big one and they took in the zoo animals to help them during the crisis when they were
- 2:00:35
neglected and there was no money available then lost door from Canada is a company that does drug addiction programs to help people reintegrate into daily life after a sorry for that of the day I stopped using the drugs and they didn't have the chance to get a job so they are creating jobs they are actually doing right now A Street Food Festival organized by the people from that program and here we have another collection of
- 2:01:08
nfts and these nfts Express how important it is to actually help a person and with your investment and helping a person you don't help the single person also but you actually contribute to a healthier World in general because you increase the awareness and to summarize it all up I have an overview of all the nfts for you here um how is it interesting for you as an investor I mean to be honest and super
- 2:01:39
blunt we can we can never promise you a return of investment but it might potentially in case you resell for a higher price so that's what I'm also doing as an investor hoping for you know for a return of investment but I also like investing in myself in you and because when we invest in humanity animals and nature we are investing in all of us in yeah it's our future it's about saving the world simply put I know this is a word that everyone uses save
- 2:02:10
the world and it's boring but it's basically it I mean we all want that yeah that's it I guess and I'm already coming to an end if you want to reach out whether it is as an artist as an investor if you have a charity that you know that want to have a collection it's super easy to onboard with us we are providing everything there are no initial costs we provided from the beginning and nothing to lose let's just try and yeah
- 2:02:41
let's go for it and if you want to stay in touch here is another career code but you also have that on the flyer on the other page side so reach out to me I would love to chat to you and I'm also around so you can ask questions yeah that's it thank you a lot and have a good nircon and enjoy the parties cheers thank you Claudia hello so now we have a 15 minute break so go eat something look at other stuff and
- 2:03:13
please be back in 15 minutes welcome back please can you put your headphones we're gonna start the next session so if you can put yourself first I think I think one person can hear me right now so okay uh just give a few minutes so everybody now you can hear me um okay so now we're is uh we're gonna welcome simple it's gonna talk about the original culture indigenous today ecosystem so what I I use this yeah okay
- 2:04:22
okay everyone nice to see such a big audience here lots of people interested in original culture indigenous to the I've already messed this up okay so first slide is something I want to talk about is original culture indigenous to the near blockchain this is my mantra near has a reputation for groundbreaking technology stack it should also have a reputation for groundbreaking culture and by groundbreaking original culture what I
- 2:04:58
mean is culture that is new seeks out new forms is trying to do new things new methods not just a rotation a copy pastor of previous stuff building on it changing it remaking it but essentially something new I think the culture should also be a parallel of what the technology stack is trying to do okay I'm having trouble with the slide okay so one of these statements that you hear a lot is such and such a project is the first X on near it's the first rug insurance it's the first
- 2:05:50
you know trash out project it's the first something I mean that's interesting but what really would be interesting is if something is the first of its kind and it's also on near so like what Vandal here is doing is you know he's doing something interesting and new with his phono route project yeah we've got various people like Peter Samuelson doing things that are new and interesting and they're on near they're not a rotation from ether from Seoul they are new things that are
- 2:06:23
happening on near and it's important because something yesterday we talked about was the fact that Nia has just started this you know massive 100 million pound 100 million dollar uh culture fund for building platforms so Nia obviously cares about culture and the near Foundation cares about culture and while we want to onboard masses of users masses of users and ideally a billion of web 2 users onto web 3.
- 2:06:54
there should be a place within it for a culture that represents the technology that is on near a groundbreaking scalable fast cheap technology that people look at and admire and so we should have culture that represents that at the same time something I uh I feel strongly about is if anyone knows the provenance of this quote I know there's only a few people here it'd be interesting to see if anyone knows it so this guy is uh he was actually in Sex in the City about 10 years later but uh
- 2:07:29
his character was called Chris in the morning on k-bound a show called Northern Exposure show my age repetition it's the death of art it's been dumb he was an artist and a DJ two of the greatest things you can be and you know I subscribe to this the if something's been done before why do it again you know in art historically you know we we like to see new work in in real life art we like to see new things being done
- 2:08:01
and this leads me to these guys for those that don't know Salvador Dali and obviously that's David Bowie now the thing about Salvador Dali is Salvador Dali was born in the most one of the most successful dollar earning living artists of the 20th century you know he had a castle with an anteater in it he was he was a you know a guy who knew how to take his work his original idea and repeat it around and around again and make lots of money doing it and
- 2:08:40
Salvador Dali didn't make lots of money I mean his nickname if you look this up his nickname was Avida dollars which is an anagram of Salvador Dali Bowie on the other hand experimented his whole life with new work new forms new things new music new art you know Bowie was a guy who basically was building something new a legacy that people would be proud of and look back and say that guy was trying out to do
- 2:09:11
new things that are interesting and captivating Darley bizarrely it's not that we're respected amongst the IRL our establishment you know people respect his success but a guy got stuck in a Groove for 50 years which uh you know you know darley's perhaps more Keith Richards or Paul McCartney perhaps than David Bowie now from Dali to Dali see what I did there so unless you've been living under a
- 2:09:44
rock you can't fail to have heard of the open AI art generative project called darlie and you know Dali is an amazing thing you know you can say something into it it produces an art art piece you know I've got a few experiments to show you but my point that I'd like to make is that when you know when we have new technology in art and culture music people think it's the death of the old forms and sometimes it can be but the point is that
- 2:10:18
the creative takes the new technology and uses it and harnesses it to make new things and that's what Dali is going to be about it's going to be like the camera it's going to be like Photoshop you know technology is not the enemy but creativity is the defense against technology and you harness technology and you welcome it and you say I welcome this new opportunity to make new things rather than say I'm just
- 2:10:47
going to make the same thing over and over again JG Ballard one of my favorite authors it was accused of repetition and sometimes repetition is the art The Ramones another music thing they made the same song 500 times maybe change the chords around but the point is their message was the same and sometimes the repetition the process can be the art that's a different thing entirely but with Dali come along you really have to
- 2:11:18
think my way of dealing with this is to be more creative and more experimental and to seek out new forms and on that note I mean you could say which one's real apart from I've put the uh I've written at the bottom underneath so there's no prizes for guessing which one's real which one's not this is one of my pieces I built a tower out of physical pieces of audio visual equipment that I own it's eight feet tall sits in my garden
- 2:11:53
it plays the key lines from Shelly's ozymandia sonnet about trance about transience and obsolescence and the need to look forward that took me 10 seconds in uh in Dali and I don't know which one's better it's a starting off point this is authentic it's authentic to me that might be the thing authenticity could be could be the defense but will authenticity matter anymore if you can produce the base thing
- 2:12:24
and then do the conceptual work around it because I'm a conceptual artist the idea is more important this is about transients and obsolescence and transformation the fact that I built the Statue myself should be important but I don't know if it is you tell me I don't know the other thing to bear in mind is Moore's law this is going to get a lot better this is going to get a lot better so you have to defend yourself against it
- 2:12:57
so one of the big themes of my work is is this idea that Nostalgia isn't always the best thing you probably pick this up by now that I believe in looking forward and I believe you should be going forward to create new forms and new work and new ideas and that Nostalgia is actually a slight slight trap for people who want to do that because Nostalgia can lead you set in your ways and wishing for things as they were in the past which is great we've had a time machine maybe we'll have one
- 2:13:27
I don't think we ever will but the point is Nostalgia has cultural social personal implications as a block on your development so when I went to Dali and thought I'll put in this thing up here because this is one of my old boomboxes and I met I hand printed and stenciled the Nostalgia warning tape and I wrapped it and I photographed it that's one of my paintings the background to one of my music graffiti paintings and I made a digital collage which moves
- 2:13:57
around and then I I took that pattern put it through official synthesizer and created sounds which go along with the piece but if I can get there and I will be able to get there with Darley soon then it's the idea that's important and that's your defense the idea conceptualism okay A bit of fun here now I'm not dissing pfp projects at all I'm not I'm not into gatekeeping the quote is from George Fisher I believe in our early IBM developer garbage in garbage out this is my quick attempt to make a pfp
- 2:14:36
project using Dali and as you can see it came out it does that I don't know if that's good or bad I've no idea but the point is that the skill will become your ability to program the words in in the correct way to get the results that you want skill with programming new cultural technologies will become as respected as composing a Sonata if it not already is in the form of code if you create the code for an elegant groundbreaking blockchain that's fast
- 2:15:07
scalable and cheap that's probably as great an artwork as anything I can do so the point is be experimental be creative use your ideas think of new forms and do better than I can as well programming Darlings I'm not good at it okay this one's a bit close to home you might have spotted this is this so I've been making these paintings for 10 years and in one no probably I don't know 20 years in one form or another and I actually uh use myself my name's
- 2:15:49
uh my aunt named zeitwalk and I got this and I'm thinking you know that's not far away but the thing is this is just a jumping off point I take this image if you and if you use augmented reality or know the rt5 app you can scan one of my paintings and it goes mental I put a digital remix behind it it basically does all sorts of crazy crap and glitches and there should be an epilepsy warning because I take I take the base layers and build them into a
- 2:16:22
visual story so the point is again it's not the beginning image that's important it's the idea it's the idea a neoteric is somebody I value a person who introduces new methods ideas or concepts see if you can guess what I'm going to do with the word neoteric an erotic self-explanatory a person who does it on the near blockchain a near rhoteric write it down hashtag it whatever that's mine that's my idea now there are cultural narratorics out
- 2:17:07
there I'm going to got a couple of minutes I'm going to be quite quick I mentioned Peter Samuelson his 12-tone project on there is groundbreaking interesting anyone who's into music should be checking it out on chain on chain evereth is a generative uh artist or near probably the most successful generative artist on here he doesn't just use again thing he finds online he programs his own gun he takes
- 2:17:33
the idea he has and at the moment he's working on something that turns sound into visuals something that I do officials into sound sound into visuals my son came up with an idea a year ago that we could turn a chess game into music and he took the Gary Casper off against deep blue game and using his own idea of of Translating that into music we created a piece that we sold on near
- 2:17:58
new ideas the whole time okay okay so I'm the oldest guy in the room I pretty much always am because Carl's buys beer truck but I'm the oldest guy it doesn't mean anything Bowie said age is the extraordinary process whereby you become the person you always should have been keep working with a curious mind open to new ideas and Technologies be more Bowie be less salvadorly this is me time's running out
- 2:18:42
uh anyone who's interested me can scan the QR code or you can find me anywhere else on sitewalk we're going to be running a auction for um this painting to raise money for the Unchained fund and eros's Studios we're gonna leave it lying around there were two someone's bought one well there's an AR layer underneath it but if I leave you one thought be open to new ideas work on new ideas
- 2:19:05
do not just sit there thinking this is this has worked on eth it's worked on Soul I'm gonna bring it over to Nia it's not enough new near is near is new it's incredible technology the culture should do the same that's it thank you thank you that was very interesting now we have uh flip Benjamin he's gonna talk about the metaverse I feel weird because I can't hear y'all hear me you hear me all right this is cool
- 2:19:51
so I just walk on stage okay I'm good all right how to become an architect in the metaverse oh all right I cannot hear myself this is so weird um all right you guys can hear me right hey you gotta put on your hands here man Davis ladies and gentlemen oh man yes please okay yeah that's so weird yeah yeah oh this is beautiful stuff on the screen oh that's fire it was fire look how much easier yes please all right
- 2:20:50
all right I hear myself just solid I can dig it I can't dig it I'm good appreciate it man thank you all right y'all can hear me thumbs up we've got to make this a little more interactive all right for sure all right my name is flip my mom named me Jeremiah Benjamin don't call me that but flip is my name um I'm a metaverse architect I'm from Los Angeles California 88th Street to be exact you know we I've
- 2:21:30
made it all the way to Lisbon Portugal and they got me up here speaking about how to become a um a metaverse architect all right so how I became a metaverse architect is hmm all right so I I seen AutoCAD for the first time at a continuation school when I was in like the 12th grade um that's a funny story I say AutoCAD and then I went to a school called ITT Tech I always wanted to be a an
- 2:22:03
architect that builds buildings and stuff like that so I went to I went to a school and they promised me that they would teach me how to design with a computer so went there I got a degree in computer aided Drafting and design um yeah I got a degree in computer Aid Drafting and design and from there I started working at architecture and engineering companies so I spent maybe eight years working at some of the largest architecture and engineering companies building out 3D models interesting thing about architecture and
- 2:22:37
engineering companies is that interesting thing about them is that when we build models we'll build a 3D model we'll build a really nice 3D model Sydney Opera House all of these beautiful buildings um but we'll build the model and then we'll make construction documents out of them like well literally take the time to build this beautiful model and then we'll print out everything on on 2D pieces of paper for client meetings and stuff like that and that always bothered
- 2:23:08
me that was I was really like a problem for me that we never let the client see what it was like to be inside of their buildings what is this like to actually explore their environments and stuff like that so um I work for them long enough to decide like and I I banged my head against the wall trying to get them to put their buildings inside a VR and all of this stuff they wouldn't do it and I figured like even if they did it like the
- 2:23:38
company would just get richer like I would probably still make the same amount at my desk if the company decided to put buildings inside of VR so I so I decided to start making my own virtual environment So like um I guess the biggest Milestone as a metaverse architect was me figuring out how to put environments that I knew how to create how to put buildings I don't know how to create 3D models inside of game engines the minute I figured out how to put those things inside of game engines it
- 2:24:13
it made everything like uh like a really high quality Grand Theft Auto or any sort of video game that you would play which gave me the desired output now I can have people to walk around inside of inside of my buildings or whatever but once I start creating this side of a game engine it kind of changed the landscape of everything like I see you guys not looking at me but looking at
- 2:24:41
the TV screen and it's because okay so all of these are gamified worlds so as a metaverse architect the metaverse is sort of undefined it's it's this thing that nobody really can tell you what it is the limitations of it or anything like that so architects in my opinion an architect does not just mean that you that you build buildings it means that you create Frameworks that things exist inside of
- 2:25:12
so when people call me a metaverse architect that just means that I was constructing a framework for what the metaverse looks like like what will exist inside of the metaverse so yeah I start building these beautiful assets and everything like that um I probably shouldn't start with portals telling y'all about that that's probably the most advanced thing that's shown on here um but I believe I'm here to tell you guys how
- 2:25:42
to become a metaverse architect okay I think the first step to becoming a metaverse architect is you have to have the ability to to imagine things that don't exist things Without Limits like that it was easier for me because I came from building 3D models and everything like that I came from the architecture field so there were limitations in how we design if you if you create a wall like a wall has to be
- 2:26:16
this far away from a door if you're going to create a pool on the second level you have to put load-bearing walls beneath it in the metaverse none of that exists if I want to hang a chandelier I do not have to hang it by anything from the ceilings no matter what I do there's no limitations inside of the the metaverse so one of the biggest things for me um was just the ability to unlock
- 2:26:40
creativity inside of the metaverse if any of you here want to be a metaverse architect you're gonna have to sort of throw away most of the stuff the limitations that you put on designing things there's no limitations when you're designing things inside of the metaverse everything is fair a game another thing that you're going to need is creativity early on I would create these spaces and normal people like Doug
- 2:27:11
hey they would challenge me as to like if this isn't the metaverse why does it still look normal like why does this still look like a normal space and it's like in my opinion at first I was like people have to correlate it to something like if I just create somebody something that doesn't exist they'll never sort of like they'll never get it and and they kept challenging me to like hey
- 2:27:40
if you create a table like why does it need legs on the table and I was like you're absolutely correct like so I started designing pool tables all these different type of things inside of spaces that did not have physical limitations on them um and then I think um the next thing would be you have to try and own an aesthetic like you have to try and and own something that makes people know like that's you that's your design so I
- 2:28:18
spent a lot of time designing boring stuff at the beginning and everything like that until I or mimicking other people also mimicking people to see like okay where is my design style how can I mesh these things to make my own sort of design style and everything and now I mean I stand in front of you as the founder of pod labs I built this entire thing thank y'all I appreciate I can't hear y'all um yeah so I a good thing about being a metaverse
- 2:28:52
architect is I have the ability to storytell inside a virtual environment so I had this thesis that if you walk into Google the actual Google building headquarters Google doesn't have to tell you what they do like when you walk in there you feel what they do you feel you kind of feel the creativity and all that in the space I love the opportunity to be able to do that without having to like I could literally sit down there and play this video and you guys would
- 2:29:22
kind of get the the idea of what it was that I do I don't necessarily like having to talk about what I do even though I can so it's the ability Now to create so now podlabs I created this thing on the near ecosystem that would allow me to storytell across different mediums so rehydrate is a project that I that I'm doing it's a single player metaverse completely focused on mindfulness meditation everything we have an
- 2:29:56
activation over there that you guys can visit after this thing we're literally having like a group a group led um a group lab meditation inside of the rehydrate pod but pod labs in particular in my opinion it is a metaverse nft Marketplace that allows people to visit multiple metaverses based on the nfts they own so as a metaverse architect it gave me the ability to continue to recreate myself while
- 2:30:27
offering people different stuff how I did that you guys are here to figure out how to become or whatever what I am if you cannot design you do not necessarily need to be able to design or code or develop to be a metaverse architect I believe all that it takes is the ability to direct a team you can find developers although I have the ability to 3D model and all of that stuff there are people that exist that you guys can find
- 2:31:01
um but it doesn't matter if you're not directing them or creating anything cool then you'll be wasting your money you'll be wasting your time but if you have the ability if you have the idea to create a framework to create virtual buildings Virtual Worlds virtual environments and stuff like that it is it is necessary that that you get those ideas out of your head if you have ideas I'm a I'm a I'm a really big proponent of people getting ideas out of their head whether or not
- 2:31:40
they have the capability to design and develop you can find designers and developers that's not a problem you just have to master the ability if you want to become an nft um architect or a metaverse architect and you don't have designed and developing capabilities you have to master the ability to communicate with design and development teams you have to master the ability to to speak the language and everything like that so now I mean I have a design team and
- 2:32:14
everything that works along with me to develop out all of these beautiful things um I think the portals are about to show up too um one of the biggest one of the biggest things about the metaverse is the ability in my opinion since we've started the metaverse is always this idea of jumping from like a bridge that allows you to go from metaverse to another metaverse and everything like that the reason that doesn't exist is because platforms tend to not necessarily want to communicate
- 2:32:49
with each other or share assets and all of that different stuff but now if we if we can create an ecosystem if we can design spaces and buildings and in a variety of experiences and stuff that'll allow you to to sort some sort of Portal from metaverse to metaverse um I think that's what we've always that's what we've always envisioned and that's not what this is this is the restorers game but this is also another
- 2:33:24
world that has been released on near everything that you see all of this is on near this building though this Laboratory this is just my playground I built it to be able to Showcase all of the different things um I walked off my job maybe a year and a year and a half ago at this point and I've been able to yeah and I've been whatever he said yeah but I was able to do that and and sort
- 2:33:56
of unlock this creativity and everything like that in the meta versus it's literally unlimited right now nobody can Define it don't let anybody Define it to you so if nobody can Define it that means you have the opportunity to join in and create whatever you want in it you have the ability to join in and tell your story with it my story just surrounds gaming environments this is in my opinion if you buy a car from me you should be able to drive the car you
- 2:34:27
should not have to wait a year and a half to drive your nft car that you purchase so all of these things will be releasing on near um and if I don't know if anybody has done this but you guys some of you guys look like you have questions can can I answer some questions as opposed to sitting up here and just uh-oh got one okay we have a mic so you guys can ask me questions go for it perfect
- 2:35:07
hey flip that's really dope I love it thank you um I'm Vandal from Dow records We Do music nfts okay uh how can we get music nfts up in pod labs and some of the stuff you're building in metaverse all right so we've already BD history of history of Music Museum we've created these Studios for music um for like metaverses um for like music artists and different stuff like that I believe everybody should have an environment to tell their story in so like the we built a a studio for the
- 2:35:45
oatmeals and MTU radio we built a studio for uh um an artist named RJ it's a Rolls-Royce inspired Studio but he would have never been able to have that in in real maybe okay he got some money but like yeah you probably in real life like I don't know that anything like that exists where you walk in and the stars that are on the top of the wraith are in the studio and stuff like
- 2:36:10
that so you have the ability I think the metaverse is endless when it comes to supporting um projects like that artists like that and everything like that and and feel free to talk to me after and we can oh yeah and you and you have the ability to have um it's sort of like how the box was back in the day where like if you have multiple records if you have a catalog of Records or whatever you can yeah you can have all of those things planned inside of your virtual environment you
- 2:36:42
can invite your fan base to come inside of your virtual environment and and hear those things um yeah man let's continue the conversation absolutely anybody else have a question yeah okay hey uh my bad uh came in a little late I'd like to know where you're from but I'm uh Fred from metaverse radio out of Chicago okay and we're actually building Digital radio stations in different metaverse
- 2:37:06
platforms okay and pumping in the same audio stream okay so that when we get to uh interview say Vandal or maybe a B artist like Snoop Dogg will be able to interview uh them in one metaverse platform and have it live streamed and distributed throughout as well as throughout the universe or on uh currently on smart smart speakers smart TV sets Etc so but so in terms of introduction you're from uh the US yes I'm from 88th Street no I'm from Los Angeles Los Angeles California
- 2:37:41
um that's where we're based at okay great so pod Labs is how we track you down yes okay yeah absolutely all right any other questions I got a question uh flip you know uh coming from South Central right can you talk about you know just being a co-founder at MTU like the struggles you know what I mean and then also the opportunities that exist for you know uh minorities in the space of web 3 and also like you know for so long in web 2 you look at uh people of
- 2:38:16
color being underfunded you know what I mean and it's not because they're you know not talented it's because of lack of resources or whatnot can you speak to that and like you know just your journey in this whole web three uh ecosystem I appreciate uh such a poignant question Baron Davis um yes so this is very important first of all creators like myself that come from where we come from that have talent like we have we always need amplifiers we always need someone that is sort of like
- 2:38:57
inside of the space to sort of pull us along and Champion us Baron Davis was that for me but we needed then to create some sort of ecosystem that would be that for other creators that were just like me other creators that were that hella talented but had no ability to get the spotlight to be showcased and everything like that so we created a a company called more than us that allows for Founders like myself creators like
- 2:39:33
myself to have access to the things that we just are ignorant of that don't we don't know exists I now have access to funds I now have access to near protocol like I now have this if I would have never met bear maybe I would have just been creating virtual environments on 88th Street for a long time you feel me who knows but it was it was important that we have people that amplify our voice and then near has been a great a great thing for me because they were
- 2:40:04
what Baron says like sometimes you need sometimes you need that funding sometimes you need resources and everything and then and and previous to that in web 2 that was very hard to get I think near is great at doing that for creatives and developers like that on this platform so I just appreciate that hey Anna only got 13 seconds so I can't answer anyone oh all right one more question hey um so like you I used to I used to be an architect uh now software engineer and
- 2:40:37
blockchain um there we go it pays better the pay is way better exactly but yeah how are you I guess like it's an entrepreneurial question as an architect you know you make a 10 fee the GC gets you know the rest and makes the profit margins and everything there is no GC per se in the metaverse um you have infrastructure you have to pay but like how are you thinking about like the value of your work how are you
- 2:41:08
Distributing it do people buy homes if so where um models like are you just modeling in like rhinoceros or like these other software I'm like from 10 years ago but um and then you get it into Unity like what's the pipeline like um for for like production okay sorry there's a lot of questions in there but it's okay and I'm over time but I'll try and wrap this up as fast as possible if you're an architect then I'm sure that you're you're familiar with
- 2:41:37
Autodesk softwares I'm modeling 3ds Max um I convert that into I can I can export that as an fbx file obj file all of these different file types and then I can put it inside of a game engine and now I have the ability to gamify it one of the hardest things in it it was for me to do at the beginning was to actually place a value on my work there were there was no framework for like what do people pay for virtual spaces that'll never be built in in real life
- 2:42:10
Architects charged by the square foot so they can if an architect was to build this warehouse this is a million dollar Warehouse based on square footage alone me this is literally a day's worth of work to create that like how do I then charge so um I think the the biggest value was uh me figuring out how to sort of like transition that pipeline to take it from what I was creating into game engines and then figuring out how to charge
- 2:42:42
people for that work I'm sorry I thank all you guys so much I really really do appreciate it thank you that was very inspiring and really showing us how we can create Without Limits in there and now uh let's welcome Adam and he's actually gonna talk about how we can make the major diverse a service hello uh can everybody hear me all right great okay thank you for coming to this session uh I want I would like to share
- 2:43:21
our projects it's called reality chain uh multi-chain interoperable metaphors as a service so our goal for sharing our project is like we want to collaborate to as many as possible creators in this event and we met a lot of cool people between these two days and I hope we can collaborate in the future so my name is Adam Marisa Smitha I'm the CEO of a reality chain I've been making
- 2:43:44
games since 2010 so my first game is built on Nokia and then I move into Windows phone and then Android and iPhone and now I'm moving into the blockchain space and because our background is mostly in the gaming side game development side we have a Partners uh pandu sister Degen in the blockchain I think the first Bitcoin C buy is in 2013 and actually she is talking right now at the same time in the next stage so we are doing a parallel with pandu so
- 2:44:16
in reality chain we solve a problem with the metaphor situation nowadays the first problem is like there's a ton of demand of metaphors from web3 and also web 2 projects you can see a lot of pfp projects out there somewhere on the roadmap they have like want to have a metaverse especially after the pandemic where like uh socialization becomes so hard having a metaphors having some place that you can gather on you can socialize it's very important but it's very hard and expensive to build one our
- 2:44:49
background in the game development industry make it is quite easy for us to help them develop one and the second one is the the challenge right now in the whole blockchain ecosystem is like the fragmentation for mainstream users maybe they're quite confused which blockchain do I choose which wallet do I use which metaphors will come in so we try to make this all of the fragmentation becoming easier with interoperable
- 2:45:13
so in reality chain our mission is like we want to provide uh interoperable metaphors as a surface with the most decentralized way how we do that so in Android 10 we have three pillars that we try to build first we want to focus heavily on the social interaction I know out there there's a metaphor that will focus on the gaming side metaphors that will focus on the immersion with
- 2:45:39
the VR tools and everything what we want to do is we want to focus on the social element so because we believe that the meaningful human connection is the essence of the metaphors and even the report from nuzu thought that a younger Generations play video games not only just to play game anymore they play video games to hang out that's why games like Among Us is very popular because they can socialize inside the game
- 2:46:04
the second pillar that we want to bring is like we want to make it not only easy for users to come even with if you don't have a wallet you can jump into the metaphors easily using any device that you have right now we want to make it easy also for you to have your own metaphors that's why we created a system a mechanic for you to deploy your own metaphors very very easy and very very
- 2:46:28
quick and the last part I think this is one of the most important thing is like we want to focus on the Creator and designers we saw a lot of creators like now creating things on social media a video of photos and everything we also think that the next things that we can Empower them to build is everything everything in a digital world so that's why in reality chain we want to empower creators we want to create tools for creators to be able to create anything
- 2:46:57
easily so uh we have two engines for you to build first either 2D engine the first is the 3D engine we choose to launch the two different it's by choices why because we want to make it easier for everyone to access without a high spec computer without a high knowledge about 3D modeling you can easily come into the delivers there's a lot of feature on top of our 2D engine there's an avatars every part of the avatars can be nft the hairs the clothes the shoes
- 2:47:29
and everything can be nfts so if you like to create one you can design it mint it and use it or you can sell it too so every part of the avatars can be nft and if you own a parcel or a lamp you can build on top of that wherever you want to build you can create a concert room you can create an office you can create a place just to hang to everything so it's easy we have the chat feature the text and voice so you can also Talk inside of the parcel with your friends or you can use text there is a global chat to talk with
- 2:48:01
everyone in the metaphors nearby you want to talk with uh people surrender you and surrounding you and everything you can interact with the items there's emotic and animation the share location is important so in most cases like in a lot of parcels people doing anything any activities and sometimes the power cells is quite far away from the drop point when you come into the metaphors you just sell the location using a link and
- 2:48:25
you can share it on your Twitter so people can click it directly and go into parcel instantly so it's make it easier for you to ask people to come to your password or your even in the metaphors unless we can integrate with twitch and YouTube streaming so if you have a concert you have a webinar you have everything you can put it on top of the parcels so this is a I don't know if we can play this video or not
- 2:48:50
I think we cannot saw if you want all item we can yes this is the future in the 2D engine this is how you can customize your avatars it can be nfts the work is persistent so a lot of things is uh on the place and you can explore everything and this is for teleporting you can copy the link and share it with social media for you to build the parcel it's in game so you donate the third party software to build on top of that you don't need the 3D modeling software you can use it directly in relative chain you can
- 2:49:23
connect with wallet to grab all of your nfts and put it onto the parcels and then you can create and maintain yourself your nfts using chat features to socialize and having a concert directly from YouTube and twitch webinars and a boxing match so there's a lot of use sketch that we can do and we try to use it uh multi-chan so you can connect with multiple wallet to login into the reality Channel so
- 2:49:54
how to create metaphors using realtygen this is very easy simple and very very inexpensive so as a community of brand owner what you need to do is you just need to stack real real will be on top of near protocol and after you stack real we're gonna generate the metaphors and the lens for you and after that you can choose whether you want to integrate with any blockchain for example you want to use near wallet for people to log in
- 2:50:20
you can do it you want to use metamask for each room you can use it and after that you can also connect with different kind of marketplace for example you want to connect with NFA on Paras you can do that on minbase you can also do that openc and every nft Marketplace that you choose so the process is like you choose which engine that you want to have for your metaphors the 2D or the 3D one for
- 2:50:43
example I want to have the 2D metaphors all right and then you choose the size the small size with 100 lamps uh medium size with 500 lens or 1000 a large one with 1000 lens so you can choose whichever you want and then after that you need to stick Grill and then we're gonna create smart contact for you and then we're gonna create the fortune and send it to your wallet that's easy so using reality chain your user can easily jump into the
- 2:51:10
metaphors using their browser for now we are also developing the native apps for IOS and Android so it will be a lot of accessible for everyone to jump in into the metaverse so that means that the infrastructure the server the maintenance and everything for the metaphors engine it'd be on us for five years so it's gonna be free so if basically you have a free metaphors only by just taking real so it's very very
- 2:51:34
easy and we also create the tools to empower designer and Creator to create so uh right now it's still manual but it's very very easy that's why we choose the 2D first as our engine that we launched because we want everyone to be able to create their own create a character create their own uh wall floor furniture and object into their metaphors so we want to empower them in the future we are going to also develop the Creator's tools so the creators can use their truth even without any knowledge into
- 2:52:07
design at all you can create one you can mint it and you can sell it so it's very very easy and accessible I'm gonna go run through quick about the Reel so we're gonna launch our own token it's called real what it's for of course you need reel to take uh to generate metaphors but the other utility is very very interesting because the metaphors is built using real stick right the real token is thick so each Parcels that you sell to your community and they but they also hold
- 2:52:40
the real stick so what it's been to hold a parcel and hold the Reel uh on top of uh their metaphors first holding reel of course you can govern related chain but the second one the most interesting part is like every transaction that happened in every metaphors forward but reality chain either is the royalty from the uh sand land cells the royalty from the avatars from the furniture and everything you can get incentive by holding the parcel and staking real so
- 2:53:12
that's the some of the uh use case that we can use using the real and a little bit regarding Financial we have successfully uh closed our seat and now we are opening for private so if any of you may be interested to join our uh uh Adventure in creating metaphors please contact with me just gonna share a little bit Milestone that we have done in the past years we have done multiple events a concert events kickboxing match um Gallery even we create a game like
- 2:53:44
you can create a maze on top of your parcel and make a quiz on top of that so it's already happened uh our metaphors can handle 1000 concurrent users at the same time but I think the last event we have 300 so if you want to help us break the servers and try to try if it cannot if it can hold 1000 let's do this we can try to put a lot of people together to make sure that we can do 1000 uh user
- 2:54:11
concurrent user at the same time we also create bounties to empower more creators to create an avatars to create a floor a wall that they can mean and sell and last week we just launched one of the metaphors and mainnet so we already have like uh four projects that's going to use relative chain uh to launch their own metaphors we have one life already it's from Maria social a web 3 social
- 2:54:36
media on top of octopus Network their metaphors is live today so you can go to myriad.com to seal to look around have your own avatars and walk around explore so after Myriad we're gonna have two more metaphors launched in next quarter first is the Paras metaphors Paras will have their own metaphors using reality chain and the third one is the unique one metaphors unique one also gonna have
- 2:55:01
uh their own metaphors launch so uh what I'm asking is like uh formulated chain we want to collaborate with as many projects as possible so we would like to thanks to all of the backers and partners that have collaborated with us there's a direct funnel here that's been uh doing amazing stuff with their music we have Atocha create a lot of riddle and puzzle on top of the teaching we have a fashion week
- 2:55:26
uh gonna happen with La Crosse I think next month so if any of you have ideas what we can do together with really teaching let's do it we are very very open to collaboration and last thing before we open the question and answers uh the media town the one belong to the Mira the socials they're gonna sell the lands but only 10 between the next 48 hours so if you are interested to owning
- 2:55:51
one and try to tinkering around make sure you stay tuned visit marriott.land it's a Paras Marketplace to buy one if there's already I don't know if there's a lot but between this 48 Hours the next two days they're gonna launch some land just for the nircon so make sure if you want to try you can visit me at the land and you claim the land into in the middle of the town okay I think that's it uh from me thank you if there's any question please thank you
- 2:56:25
any question from the audience okay go ahead so um awesome stuff and congratulations on the land sale I'm about to check and see how that's going um also happy to be involved in this project as well as Dell Records and and music and bringing music into the metaverse uh what are going to be the differentiators between the 2D verse and and the 3D verse like in terms of interaction as well as mobile play or PC play how's that going to look yes regarding the differentiation uh I think
- 2:57:06
most the basic feature the social feature is going to be the same all of the features that you already seen in the two different it's gonna be also on the 3D engine too but the cool thing with the 3D later on is like uh you can have more Dimension you can have more immersive interaction on that I think that's going to be cool and one thing that only happened can be happen in the three days like if you have a multiple store that only happened in 3D but the
- 2:57:30
rest of it is going to be the same you also mentioned about using a mobile and PC we design whether it's the 2D or 3D gonna be accessible so you can use it from browser and for using the native apps we're also gonna release that but one thing that's really really interesting is we are trying to make the between the 2D at first the the 2D metaphors between the different kind of blockchain already interoperable right so if you come from near and then you
- 2:57:56
come into another metaphors four but reality chain on top of polygon there's a notification pop-up that hey you move into another blockchain you want to connect with that wallet so it's already interferable one thing that we're trying to do is that we want to make the 2D and the 3D also interoperable so for example if you are in the home uh listening some music or some concert in the 3D World and then you want to go out take a
- 2:58:19
grocery stores you want to move into the 2D that's also possible in the future so I think that's something that we work in the future thank you panel thank you thank you Adam okay it's done yes okay thank you thank you everyone yeah thank you for making us smarter and now we're gonna have Tom with sir uh from the round to talk about AR cool thanks hey everybody hi that's weird I can't hear yeah anyway hope everyone's very well
- 2:58:57
perfect there we go okay just wait for a couple of people to take their seats some supporters at the back so I'll just wait for them as well um yeah everyone I'm Tom Windsor I'm the co-founder and CEO of the round uh and I'm gonna have a bit of a chat with you about how AR will create a new wave of immersive experiences so first of all I want to start off by saying I want you all to imagine Ed Sheeran
- 2:59:28
Billy eilish Liam Payne as is in the photo just here who we worked with last year a completely virtual girl band like KDA or even the Royal Shakespeare company performing in your living room or at a park with family live in an interactive multiplayer experience that you can enjoy with your friends wherever they are in the world and all you need to access this experience is the mobile phone you already have in your pockets
- 3:00:00
no new hardware no VR headsets you may say that is a kind of a vision of the future of entertainment but with the developments in augmented reality 5G and the round we can deliver this today so as I said I'm Tom I'm co-founder CEO of the round I've been working in augmented and virtual reality since 2016 and prior to this I worked for over 10 years in the live entertainment industry
- 3:00:28
delivering immersive interactive and site-specific theater I just want to quickly talk about what I'm going to go through for the next 20 minutes I'm going to chat through AR web3 and look at some of the incredible work that has already been done uh also I'm going to show you a little short video the first time it's been shown so you're getting the premiere little demo video which will add context and show you what we're building at the round and I really want to leave some
- 3:00:52
time for a q a at the end so please do get your questions ready and finally for those people who stay till the very end we'll be uh announcing our Pro app in partnership with hooked and all the amazing rewards that that gives you access to so do stick around so as I said if you'll indulge me uh I want to play a short but three minute video which we just created that shows our live streaming protocol in action working with some incredibly talented
- 3:01:18
artists so yeah if we can have the video please good morning the round is a platform for live augmented reality entertainment we allow venues largely to build and distribute real-time performances in augmented reality they'll have a persistent AR venue that they can use to connect directly to their fans to their audiences and really build a kind of direct artist to audience economy in the
- 3:02:05
center of that idea and that ambition over the next kind of several years is this broadcast protocol that we've developed that allows us to distribute real-time performances at 60 frames per second with perfect AV sync in Mobile augmented reality Tom and I've been working in theater for about 10 years and our whole reason for going into immersive Tech was because we're passionate about live arts and we want
- 3:02:29
to make it accessible to as many people as possible we wanted to approach what we do from a slightly different angle and we wanted to look at the creative side of it expressive side of it the potential of it for performers for artists you've got complete freedom to just move all the way around the performance you can watch them from the back you can watch them from the front you can move in and out and for us that
- 3:02:54
just felt like creating the ultimate version of performance in the round you have no easy category to swap me I am that curious hybrid me I think we're at this incredible point where with what we're working on it's the start of holographic entertainment as to start off Holograms walking around your space it's not just entertaining interacting with but in a symbiotic way with the physical world
- 3:03:37
I take my sauce from the deep human soul look again what do you see of all eras me I am he I am I cross all I cross over through time and media and objects um encompassing all of the stories all of the times human by the
- 3:04:46
did you get that perfect just ice there we go so premiere of our our video demoing the uh the the platform in action so yeah back to the slides okay so I'm going to talk about the utopian metaverse of the future which in my opinion is the AR metaverse augmented reality connects the physical and the digital worlds providing a harmonious Fusion of our online experience with the real beautiful world crucially augmented reality takes
- 3:05:27
digital content and places it in that world in my opinion true AR is a fully 3D asset that you have ability to walk all the way around or have six degrees of freedom around importantly augmented reality has the potential to be a mass-market medium equivalent to television a completely normalized mainstream and widespread form of entertainment communication and even education it can be shared with friends and family just like a film or show and create
- 3:06:00
moments of profound connection bringing people together in one moment and asking them to engage with the real world around them there was a more intimate connection between the you and the scene yeah holy sorry got lost my place for a second um augmented reality is the beginning of holograms or as we call it holographic entertainment Holograms are a more authentic representation of a person of a character and that creates a more
- 3:06:35
intimate connection with the experience with ar the world really is your canvas where you set the scene and how much control you have over the engagement is up to you AR lifts people's eyes up and out of their screens and puts them back into the real world and increasingly AR content actually reacts to the world around you truly layering our digital experience on that world and augmented reality has the potential to reshape artists and audiences relationships
- 3:07:07
creating a means of communicating directly with your fans around the world in their own environment so now the hype has died down around web3 and we're all focused on onboarding the next billion users you know I want to say that I believe the end that entertainment in the metaverse but specifically the AR metaverse is going to be vital for that adoption web 2 behaviors are so entrenched in traditional entertainment consumption that forcing people to break their
- 3:07:40
habits of streaming subscriptions is going to be a huge challenge AR is a readily available accessible mass-market medium that does not come with all the web to baggage users are learning new ways to consume content making this the perfect opportunity to onboard them to web3 mobile augmented reality is accessible there are billions of devices that are ready to consume AR content and if we integrate blockchain components that's billions of users that can go on chain
- 3:08:11
web3 creates new means of monetization that are fairer to creators and collaborators than traditional models which will be revolutionary when combined with ar technology interoperability is obviously vital and AR and web3 can allow for interoperability between the real and the digital world and as a asset driven digital art medium AR is the perfect tool for the development of a digital asset economy powered by nfts
- 3:08:44
so where are we at right now with the market we're in the midst of I think it's the fifth Human Revolution the technological Revolution all the pieces are in place for the immediate Mass market adoption of augmented reality and consumer behaviors are rapidly changing so mobile AR there is roughly three billion mobile devices in the world that are AR ready about a 30 of the world's
- 3:09:07
population and with every new handset that is delivered the capabilities get better and better and iPhone have just launched the iPhone 6 which has a whole array of new components which will make it even better for AR content you have 5G and Edge Computing and these are becoming increasingly widespread this will power the next generation of immersive entertainment because their rendering can be done in the cloud
- 3:09:30
removing the need for computing power on the device this will be crucial for AR headsets no one wants to be wearing a heavy AR headset day to day but with 5G and Edge Computing we could get to a point where AR headsets are as light as a pair of sunglasses there's billions being invested in AR headsets you've got all the major Tech players kind of releasing them and next year you've got Apple releasing theirs which is going to be a massive changing Point AR through glasses is in my
- 3:10:03
opinion the future and then just finally gen Zed audiences are really excited about AR experiences they're already engaging with ar on a regular basis on Instagram Tick Tock and Snapchat and I think this is a really great statistic 66 of gen Z audiences are enthusiastic about AR Concepts and that's only just the beginning so I think it's really cool to talk about some work that other people have done and why it is so amazing so these are there's a whole lot of
- 3:10:34
incredible AR projects and I couldn't have time to talk about all of them but I would love to kind of chat about this more with anyone in the audience and kind of Point them in direction of some really great companies you can't talk about AR without referencing Pokemon go Pokemon go was a cultural phenomenon that really placed augmented reality on the map at its peak there were 138 million active users and it currently
- 3:10:56
sits around 71 million active users there is no better example than Pokemon go for the ebower of augmented reality to build communities create shared experiences and drive people to engage with the real world so about four months ago also president zelenski delivered a speech as a hologram to world leaders and also to the public for this project they used volumetric capture technology I think it's a great example of the ability of AR to engage younger audiences via their
- 3:11:27
mobile phone and with an increased connection and intimacy that's a hologram creates AR allowed president zelenski to be in people's homes schools local towns all just really wherever they are taking the message to them and also allowed him to simultaneously appear in I think maybe six conferences around the world without the need to travel but also crucially without losing the intimacy and engagement teamlab have done some incredible things with Tick Tock and if you don't know of
- 3:11:58
teamlab I highly recommend you look them up they create the most amazing immersive experiences using projection mapping absolutely incredible stuff so they worked with Tick Tock for every life survives in fluctuating space in this the flowers they bloom to the size of the environment you place them in so if I place the flowers on here it would fill this space if I placed it in my living room it would fill that space if you place it outside they just keep growing and growing and growing an
- 3:12:23
excellent example of a Arc piece of content reacting to the real world and also what I think is so awesome about this is these flowers they react to the seasons so in Autumn they kind of they wither and they die into winter and then in Spring they bloom again and they have they're constantly changing and reacting to the real world which I think is amazing now Disney are leading the way in augmented reality
- 3:12:54
and also web3 integration a couple of months ago Disney announced the companies that would be taking part in their accelerator and also receiving investment this year's Disney accelerator class was focused on building immersive experiences and all of the company selected were either web3 or ar companies and in the last four days there's been some pretty huge AR announcements coming from Disney as well
- 3:13:18
they released freedom and there is an AR experience that complements the film taking the scene and making it come to life in your living room what they do is they use Apple's shazamkick technology and the AR app hears the audio signals in the movie and then the experience begins viewers experience a waterfall that continues to flow from the TV into their living room and a living Forest including animal inhabitants is created in the living room and shooting stars fly out the front of your sofa which I
- 3:13:50
think just sounds awesome I don't know about you it just needs a rainbow and a unicorn in there as well um anyway well I was like yeah Niantic Niantic and Disney and Marvel have just teamed up to create Marvel World of Heroes AR project this will launch a launch early next year and we'll build on niantic's typical real world Focus Niantic with the team behind Pokemon as well that's how they they made their
- 3:14:15
name um this will use the player's surrounding to create and amplify new stories at its core World of Heroes will help players become a Marvel superhero and they will be able to go around their local towns fighting villains and you know stopping crimes and even with some of like iconic Marvel villains appearing like Loki in your like in your hometown and you're fighting them as a Iron Man
- 3:14:37
which I'm gonna do for sure um and on top of this uh Disney have been integrating AR across all of their theme parks and when you layer AR on Disney theme parks the imagination really really is your only limitation so um thank you I hope you found that informative about augmented reality where we're at as a market and what its potential is the range of experience that AR can deliver is quite simply incredible some examples may be ar
- 3:15:09
visuals at a concert a murder mystery that takes place around your living around your home like cludo in augmented reality interactive talent shows taking place in your living room a football match being watched on a kitchen table they've and and then you could also have concerts in town squares powered by 5G and it's a whole other presentation talking about how important augmented
- 3:15:32
reality will be for smart cities and kind of getting people back to the high streets um thank you very much I hope you've enjoyed it I also just want to mention that we have the round po app for anyone who wants to scan and kind of receive the claimers of this will be the first to receive our Jester Avatar nft that you can see just here which give them exclusive access to all of the rounds
- 3:15:55
launch partner venues power holders will have Priority Access to our open beta program and a direct impact on the direction of our platform and participants of the open beta program will also receive further rewards and incentives for their engagement I really do want to answer any questions I've only got about two minutes and 45 seconds left but if there's any questions please do fire away
- 3:16:22
any questions no ah there's one up there hi Tom hi what is this this is our Pro app being we're working with hooked and this is the jester and we've so we've actually on our app and we can show people we've got these three incredibly beautiful uh augmented reality avatars we've got the jester the lead and the rock star and they're being streamed live to the rounds app and yeah get get our po app you'll get the jester nft which will give you access to all sorts
- 3:16:59
of awesome things on the rounds platform when we well we're on near testnet right now when we launch on mainnet in about a month's time lovely ah question so can you talk a little bit more about your clients I know you're not punched but maybe something you can share and also do you consider uh fashion augmented reality fashion is part of entertainment or there is more to it great questions um our clients we work with the
- 3:17:40
entertainment industry with venues largely are our kind of our Prime clients so theater fit spaces festivals as well and then we build them a persistent augmented reality venue that they can stream live performances to so they're our core client those people with that infrastructure already around them to put on live shows in the real world but they want to expand into the metaverse and there's a lot of them doing it at the moment we can also work
- 3:18:04
with individual artists we'll have pop-up shows but primarily we want to onboard large venues for the round uh the second part of the question was fashion um in AR fashion and AR are huge they go together beautifully we're also we're looking at working with some companies a great company you should look at called gravity layer who do uh nft wearables um that you can wear across all different platforms London Fashion week this week is doing a whole diverse event that we might be getting involved in but fashion
- 3:18:40
yeah no fashion is a really big deal and I think that kind of links back to that web 3 AR integration section and the functionality that AR will allow to give you you can try on a piece of clothes in augmented reality buy it at a click of a button and click of a button and you can have the AR asset and then you can have the real world uh garment appear at your home the next day I think that's super cool and a completely way to a completely new way to reimagine fashion
- 3:19:05
and e-commerce using augmented reality and Nike have been doing quite a lot of that stuff with like Nike try on experiences and stuff thank you cool thank you so much thank you just in time thank you thank you um and now we're gonna welcome Amber Stoneman and she's going to talk about minting music all right guys hello everyone I am Amber soman from minting music and Nashville
- 3:19:50
unsigned a little bit about me I am from the music business originally and then came into web three uh if you guys know anything about the current music business it is broken and needs a lot of fixing this segment is going to be called how you tell how utility nfts solve music business problems there we go uh cementing music who are we we build white label nft marketplaces for labels artists management publishing
- 3:20:22
companies festivals and more we are bringing marketplaces to the masses through music culture in America we are focused on solving real world music industry problems with nfts through utility and Community our sister companies are Nashville unsigned it's the largest independent Network in the city of Nashville which is Music City capital of the globe we do magazine concerts label services and artist management so we already have our legs pretty deep in the music business we also produce festivals
- 3:20:53
we are looking at roughly around four festivals for 2023 so to go through utility nfts for the music business we're going to go through some problems and how web3 solves this in music business uh crowdfunding for artists unique nfts can fund artist projects artists currently use patreon they use Kickstarter and other platforms to raise money from their fans which donations come with special perks and we
- 3:21:26
all know that kind of sounds a little bit familiar right now in the nft space um the next one is fans can become your investors right now the music business is buying and selling catalogs on the back end without the Creator involved and then they're they're literally buying it up in the Creator no more has any uh in perpetuity royalties coming from those so your fans can invest into buying your buying into royalties on your nfts they can invest into artists
- 3:21:59
directly through nfts the money goes straight to them and then the buyer also finds secondary buyers which also kind of makes them a brand ambassador of that artist the next one is experiential access nfts so exclusive events we have a partnership with Airbnb we throw secret concerts and secret venues um and so now we are using nfts to access the venue alongside that comes with a lot of perks and future rewards
- 3:22:29
but exclusive listening parties meet and greets these are all things we already see in the music business they're just ticketed with a paper ticket instead of something that could have reoccurring Value First access to new music actually a merch discounts exclusive shows we have seen a great symbiotic relationship between relationships with artists and Brands so now Brands can do specific giveaways that's co-branded with the artist
- 3:23:02
and then also fidgetal so digital things that unlock physical things we did something at a festival where the nft unlocked elevated tickets so it could be your regular ticket moves to VIP you get exclusive camping and so on the next one is concerts and festivals so this is coming as a festival producer I know a lot of problems in that space and so utility nfts will consist of ticketing um air drops one of the things a lot of production companies don't
- 3:23:41
they have not utilized yet between web3 and current festivals is crowd control through airdrops many of you heard about AstroWorld everybody was flocking to one stage it was 50 000 people on one stage as a producer that's a nightmare you do not want to do that and if you ever needed to move a crowd throughout the festival you know worst case scenario something bad happens you can airdrop in
- 3:24:04
another space and move your crowd quicker than any other way uh pull up which is proof of attendance we already collect merchandise from festivals we collect posters from festivals we shoot a bunch of content to collect memories from festivals now these nfts can show proof of attendance uh through a unique nft only to concert Growers Collectibles like I said earlier limited edition poster of the festival that would be Minted as an as an nft and then what's really interesting that
- 3:24:37
hasn't been used yet in a festival format is Brands so Brands sponsor a festival vendors pay to have booths at festivals if you can set up a scavenger hunt with nfts you can move traffic in and out of boots and you can make sponsors and vendors very happy by creating the gift of traffic this is a lot of things web 3 is not talking about right now it is sync licensing whenever even in the metaverse even in anywhere if you use a song that is not yours you have to go through a licensing process that process is called
- 3:25:11
sync licensing you're putting uh audio to a visual so we do a lot of sync Licensing in with apple music or Apple TV Hulu Netflix HBO EA Games the list goes on um but with this I think what is happening with web 3 and sync licensing this is something that is in our roadmap with minting music smart contracts are better than paper contracts a pain point and sync licensing is overusing a contract Pepsi EA Games brands that are
- 3:25:44
creating commercials with music connected if somebody isn't adamantly on top of that Administration process most of the time Brands will overuse extend that license without payment and there is a lot of money left on the table sync licensing is actually the number one Revenue stream in the music industry currently we are actually working right now with games in web 3 to license the
- 3:26:08
music accordingly so it falls in line with all of the things that it should in the sync space so smart contracts we believe that'll that'll provide contract accountability um it'll be uh stems can roll into the nft you can put all of the elements the instrumental the vocals the drums um the overall Master recording you can place all of those inside the nft and license that nft with a smart contract wrapped around it so
- 3:26:37
the moment the license is expired it will eliminate accessibility to those stems the third thing is quick payments right now to get money on a sync licensing payment it'll get it'll be anywhere from five to six months and any business that puts out some overhead if it's a you know six month net to get that back that makes it very hard for a business to function and the number four
- 3:27:06
is minimal Administration processes ask any sync licensing agent right now the administration process is an absolute nightmare in a million ways it's an absolute nightmare so again sync licensing film TV gaming and ads through nfts gives it utility outside of just a pfp nft the next thing is sales and distribution of music nfts so this go this skips all current dsps which are uh Digital streaming platforms
- 3:27:37
um and go straight to the fan that's higher revenue for the artist higher fan engagement we then tap into something called the Super Fan uh turning fans into investors and then into brand ambassadors and then real-time royalty splits decreases royalty Administration and that is where we move into royalties need a transparent Financial Ledger these are all of the agencies you must
- 3:28:07
register every single song that you create with wework in the music business 90 of artists only know about two of these um so Pros music licensing Collective Harry Fox Sound Exchange music reports neighboring rights that is where every country has their own performance rights organization and a lot of them don't like to share information so we're in a global music industry in the globe each country is not sharing information so to get paid it's very very very hard
- 3:28:41
and then also music distribution so have you guys ever wondered about the value of a song how many ways does a song make money so 50 of the song is publishing fifty percent of the song is Master recording this is owned usually by the record label this is usually owned by the Publishing Company the artist walks away with 17 total payment from the total song that is theirs everybody else is getting paid and not the artist so what falls under publishing is composition the song's DNA lyrics performance any music played in
- 3:29:14
public radio concerts ads TV film everything sync licensing royalty um and the neighboring rights on the master recording side it's mechanical this applies to music formats old and new vinyl CD cassettes digital download streaming services which is large um the artist royalty which is the artist connected to that song and then the master recording which is the overall final end-all be on right now the artist is getting
- 3:29:48
a very very very very very very small percent of this money what happens with mlc which we saw on the last slide with music licensing Collective so mechanical royalties and performance royalties if you do not claim your money in two years your money goes into a black box and then major labels and major publishing companies have access to this money quicker and better and larger because they have a bigger market share
- 3:30:15
so ultimately the artist's money is going to people that have nothing to do with their music so that's why the music industry needs a transparent Financial Ledger because the only thing that's happening in the industry right now is nothing is transparent absolutely nothing some of the partners we work with right now of course near we are built on mint base we work with harmonic Guild which does a lot of our
- 3:30:46
Dev and then we co-own the company Nashville unsigned which is the largest independent music collective in Music City capital if you guys want to scan this this is one of our current projects also it is a we work with two producers that have won Grammys and all kinds of other Awards they are seven dead stars they have created a comic book with some Marvel illustrators they have created a soundtrack to listen to while you read the comic book and we have built them an
- 3:31:21
nft Marketplace from audio visual nfts uh to just jpegs of the book itself so everything being collectible and then what we're looking at in the near future with seven dead stars is rolling out a full Remix album in an nft format so if you guys want to scan any of those the first nine people that scan you will get one of nine physical comic books that have been printed so the first nine people if you scan that you'll access the nft marketplace um the the digital comic book and the
- 3:32:00
soundtrack but if you guys would like a physical copy there is only nine in existence and they're up here uh last but not least if you guys want to scan this this is our information at minting music and if you guys want to connect with us we're always looking for partners if you are Builders and you're looking for something Monumental to build we've got problems if you can help us create Solutions we know what needs to be built now we need large large teams and not just our team
- 3:32:32
we need a hundred teams in the music industry to go after these problems and we're always looking to collaborate and thank you so much guys I'm Amber with minting music I know we just have a couple of minutes so if anyone let me turn this on so I can hear you guys if anyone has any questions you guys can ask away I know I just dropped a lot of knowledge in a small amount of time anyway
- 3:33:04
all right well that makes it easier for me thank you guys so much if you guys want to connect just again I don't know if I can go backward there we go scan that and uh yeah thank you guys so much for having me remember okay so that's it for this stage uh you can go around I think it's almost happy hour so thank you for coming bye thank you
