welcome welcome back everyone to uh another community meeting this one is the deaf console and explorer community meeting uh today we're going to be going over alerts and take another look at the upcoming activity screen on explorer and some other updates um yeah with this is josh quintel from uh dev what was what's your official title again you're the product manager for dev dev console slash exploit like yeah it's clunky right now yeah it's product manager yeah dev console and explorer

  2. 0:42

and explorer okay cool coco i didn't know if it was officially those two cool well yeah take it away cool cool i will share my screen oh cool yeah like josh mentioned have a lot of cool stuff to talk about today also a lot to show rather than tell you which is always really fun uh and so yeah without further ado let's just dive right into it uh so starting with the explorer i have a couple of

  3. 1:13

things to cover so um yes there are we well discussed last time um maybe even the last two meetings actually uh that there are you know we're revamping a lot of the explorer views you know things that you're using every day right the transaction screen the account activity screens we're adding you know support for showing collectibles and fungible tokens or nfts uh on on your account pages which we'll take a look at in a minute um and so definitely encourage you to get involved uh in that uh by commenting

  4. 1:46

on this public uh figma board here that we've got and uh also taking a look at uh some of these links here and then providing your feedback via github i will uh post these slides once this meeting is over on twitter and then i know we'll we'll post them where we usually do as well so everyone will be able to click on those um cool so there's uh two screens here that i can show you that we have like semi live kind of deployed so the first one uh the collectibles page

  5. 2:18

i reversed these labels actually so the collectibles page actually should be the one that says preview i'll change that before we post those slides and that one is literally like a preview link generated in our github like expect that one to you know not function very well but you can at least click around and kind of see a view of that so we'll look at that and then the fungible token one that is the one that should actually be labeled beta because that one is live

  6. 2:41

it's just hidden behind a you know slash beta in the url for the explorer over there cool uh so starting with the fungible token screen you can see you know if you remember from the figma uh the new activity screen has this nice tabbed interface here where you can see you know your activity which is you know the transaction list that you're used to but then we've got these additional tabs here so we've got tokens for fungible tokens we've got collectibles equalities we've got access keys access this was a

  7. 3:15

big request was just an easy way to see all the keys associated with an account and then any lock ups any token lockups that are associated with this account as well in this locked up tab will tokens view here you can see the various tokens here on the left-hand side now you can and then on the right you know we isolate you know we transactions uh associates fungible tokens so a really quick way to view all of your balances and also to view activity activity

  8. 3:46

tokens and of course you can click any of these and you'll go to you know either that contract or look at that there we go uh or you know to that transaction if you click the id here as well i mentioned this one's in beta so you could actually saw like when we clicked staking that peras here you know it loaded now plus tokens as well so you can go to this link you know pop in your own address and you'll see your fungible tokens appear there as well and then the next one is the nft or

  9. 4:21

collectible screen right here and so you can see you've got all of the here but it's not just a list right a lot of these are visuals so we try to grab a preview of the preview where possible like i said we'll preview one uh so you know pardon so you know like some of these images aren't loading just um but you can get an idea here uh definitely of where it's going between here and the figma so we've got a card for each nft

  10. 4:46

now if you click any of these we pull some data here for you the description uh who the current owner is and a little bit of the history uh including when it was minted and then you'll notice up here also we have the uh edition number if it exists and then also um the uh the collection that it comes from actually so from non-functional you come from and it pops up so this i'll also kind of note here uh for anyone viewing this page this is a pattern we're going to continue to reuse so if you have any

  11. 5:16

comments on this sidebar uh definitely mention them because that will apply to multiple screens like for example filtering uh on the transactions list things like that are going to utilize that sidebar as well one one person had a question in the chat asking how you're pulling the edition number on the nft yeah that's a good question i'm not actually sure how it's happening technically i think in this case just yeah this one okay so we aren't actually pulling the edition number it's that in

  12. 5:48

this case the the non-fungible ukraine tokens have the addition title okay okay i see people excuse me also your audio is kind of chopping in and out a little bit um so i'm not sure if there's anything you're able to do on that end but um but yeah it's getting kind of garbled for for some of us did it get slightly better just now i did like the camera thing where i muted and unmuted because that's worked for the video yeah that's that sentence works okay weird but yeah keep uh yeah

  13. 6:22

everyone uh yeah keep keep answering uh asking questions in the q a as uh as we go oh um i'm getting another question um how will this new ui show the storage size taken by this account and how much of the balance is used for storage um thinking about devs who want to monitor increasing storage use for their deployed smart contracts um yeah that's a um that is a good question let me actually me show you oh and i just realized i'm sharing a window so let me

  14. 6:54

pop into fig here because i will either be uh and hold on actually let me go back to my files here okay storage let's either get you know what they're gay things um i won't waste everyone's time actually this time i fumble through these um i'll do one of two things i'll determine uh where did that where played uh or at the door right now i'll make a note of

  15. 7:58

that because i know that might be a big audio this account script i can't your audio your audio is so bad um um it's kind of weird it's like it's like um like cutting in and out and like chopping back and forth um yeah i don't know i don't know if you have a different my i don't know if that's gonna make a difference yeah let's see there we go did that no that did not help at all well i don't know i heard did that oh no that i i stopped at that time

  16. 8:45

purposefully i did cut myself off after did that yeah okay um actually it's weird but as you think yeah i think i think you yeah you might just have like network uh connection issues yeah yeah try turning your video off maybe i'll try turning mine off and see if that works okay there we go now it's actually better isn't it um could be yeah possibly let's see it's this dock i've got a i wanted to get rid of it before this

  17. 9:17

call but i wasn't able to because the entire computer crashes maybe if you could talk about the uh the storage aspect um that you're kind of going over for a second yes yep um so yeah their um uh storage is either uh i can't recall off hand where it is we'll uh try to find that link and add it to the presentation or that is uh potentially a big oversight on our part uh here um only thinking of it really in the context of like my text stack deployed

  18. 9:51

to an account um but this uh you may want to see it uh even when it's just your like your account right um so yeah i'll have to think about that maybe try turning your video off and see if that helps uh with your still doing it yeah a little bit yeah okay okay cool yeah let's see bandwidth all right thanks thanks everyone for being bearing with our our technical difficulties um but yeah if you wanna um

  19. 10:25

uh yeah continue the presentation and yeah feel free uh everyone to keep asking questions as we move along yes definitely cool cool okay so yeah that's those two pages like i said the links are here in the presentation and in fact you know what while we're well we're all here i'll flip flop these more clear and what's where um yeah so i'll post these definitely check them out uh give us your thoughts for sure sure uh so next up uh for the explorer

  20. 10:56

something that's been coming to our attention more and more and even came up the other day when i was talking to someone about dev console our ecosys ecosystem statistics um and um displaying those you know in the explorer at least in some publicly accessible way so those who don't know the explorer does have just kept my presentation minimized uh if you're here in the explorer and you

  21. 11:20

go to this explore menu in the upper right hand corner there's a charts and stats page right here and this has various very ecosystem um you know gas including like totals the fee over time things like that um and so you know that and then there's also some stats kind of on the validator or nodes page as well but we've been getting more and more requests to see like more data richer

  22. 11:49

data on these pages and so just kind of throwing the question out there you know what would you like to see on these pages if you need some inspiration some places we've looked at that definitely have rich stats covered are of course ether scan now if you go to their charts and statistics page they've got numerous different reports there in different categories things of that nature you know some of those are only applicable to ethereum but some of them would translate over to

  23. 12:14

near in a useful way now and then similarly on solana beach the particularly nice thing about what they've got going on is their validator display which i've got in this screenshot here so you can see they've you know got who the current leader is they've got their various like locations the validators by location on the map um you know things of that nature so a little bit easier to digest than our current like list view uh on the

  24. 12:38

validators page so um definitely give some thought to some things you might want to see on there and definitely let us know what you would like to see there because i mean like i said we've got a whole laundry list of things that could be potentially useful there um but you know prioritizing them uh definitely could you know use the community's help there cool well is there a way is is there a place um that people could leave this

  25. 13:02

feedback is like maybe a discussion in the explorer repo or something is there a place where um you're collecting uh what people want to see in the ecosystem section yes there is actually so uh recently have yes started using canny uh okay cool let me yeah do i have that one drop that in the chat that'd be awesome yes i do cool uh so you'll see here on there's you know the way kenny works just a quick overview for everyone um is there's you know lists of features here or of suggestions you can of course make

  26. 13:36

new ones and i encourage everyone to do that um but for existing ones you know or things even that we've put on here as road map items and upvote these and you can also comment on them as well so if you click any of these you can see leave a comment right there there this one specifically i made this item new info for stats page and so feel free to just pop in here and leave a comment and we'll go through these and

  27. 13:59

we can respond and things like that as well so helps keep an open dialogue for everyone too i'll come back and talk also a quick comment in chat that um it'd be cool if um that there would be a way in which developers are able to integrate statistics uh into their dapps um like a button or something that would link how users can actually retrieve this data themselves oh nice uh wait so to be clear do you mean like embedding uh some of the data like embedding a chart for example or yeah from the

  28. 14:39

expense yeah please uh please clarify if i'm getting your question wrong but it said it um ben says he gets a bunch of feedback from devs who all want to know how to get this data into their apps uh and it would be a cool idea if next to each stats or graph we could have a button or something linking to how users could get the data themselves oh i see oh cool yeah yeah like some specific index or instructions like for

  29. 15:05

those yeah the data oh okay cool yeah in fact he just followed up with just how to get a total transaction per day or some other data showed in the explorer um where does the info come from and how can people use it yeah it could be like a link like embed this into your dap or something like that and then know like gives you the snippet or something cool thanks thanks ben yeah definitely cool nice and now that's in there too have

  30. 15:56

anyone else really comment on that cool yeah good stuff cool and with that uh yeah i pasted the link to this in chat uh and with that yeah that's really everything uh on the explore update there uh see i just wanted to hit on those new screens uh talk a little bit about yeah where we're going there with the ecosystem stack introduce uh the live road map here so next up dev console uh and very exciting updates here so we're you know kind of on the road to nir khan uh here with dev console and so

  31. 16:31

uh we're gonna have a lot of great uh meaty milestone releases coming out if you were not at the previous community meeting we talked through and i'll review again in this demo we talked through the dashboard page that now has speaking of stats has many different statistics on it around your smart contracts things like monthly active users retention top users um you know buy amount of near transacted with your accounts um great things like that 21 different turnkey visualizations

  32. 17:02

um and uh looked at a little bit about uh looked at the new ui uh as well so in this one um we'll actually be looking at two different things and the big one is definitely alerts this one i'm so excited about ever since i talked about this feature as a future hypothetical thing at conferences over the last year or so um this is the one everyone comes up to me and wants to talk about afterwards so i'm really excited to unveil this and actually show it to everyone i'll talk about the high points of that

  33. 17:35

in a second and then the other thing is near lake so also speaking of indexers for those who don't know uh near indexer framework is is deprecated at this point and we're focusing on near lake which is our new way to build indexers uh it's much easier and you'll see in dev console we even provide like convenient links to documentation and summarize a lot of the benefits of near lake uh right from

  34. 18:00

within uh dev console in anticipation of greater uh integration in the future which i'll talk more about once we get to that screen uh so going back to alerts so a couple things to highlight and then i'll just dive right into demoing it because it's really uh much better to just see it um so you know energy alert consists of really three main things you have a target a condition and a destination

  35. 18:25

and so a target is some sort of account right that you want to receive and alert about and we provided some flexible options here so of course you could choose a contract you already have added onto dev console but you can also type in arbitrary addresses and you can even use wildcards as well so um a scenario where that might be useful um is let's say you know your dap uses a factory pattern you know um like

  36. 18:51

thinking of like peras or mint base you know you've got like username dot mintbase.near for example as your marketplace when you sign up and so you may want to you know observe multiple um multiple versions of those contracts and so the wildcard allows you to do that you could just observe like asterisk.mintbase.near for some sort of event or something the next thing once you define a target is you you have conditions as well and there's six of them um successful and failed transactions if an event has been

  37. 19:21

logged if a function's been called and then two types of balance change one by amount and that's in near and then another one by a percentage also the percentage of near and then you choose a destination so this is where that alert actually is calling out to uh and so it could be you know something where the alert like is the final product in a sense uh like telegram right where you want to just

  38. 19:45

receive the alert date um or something like a web hook which we offer because of its flexibility so if you want to you know let's say trigger a function from your server or send a push notification if your dap happens to be a mobile app or you know just on your website front end you can do that as well very easily without having to hook up your own index or anything like that um quick like asterisk there while i'm

  39. 20:10

talking about indexers um you know it's definitely a level alert system right so you're not going to want to use this to like like use web books as like a way to like fill up your own index or something like set it to successful transaction and like log every single um web hook or something like that um definitely more thinking where like notifications um you know things of that nature if you want to do any kind of like large scale um you know downloading of transactions or something like that

  40. 20:41

building an indexer within uh would definitely be the way to go just i know there's um you know some talking about that internally so i just kind of wanted to make that clear and then the final thing to note here you'll see this on the public roadmap as well i continually refer to these alerts as momentary and that's because these are from one transaction to the next so on the future uh in the future actually on a roadmap we do

  41. 21:06

we tend to offer longer what i call observation timelines so you'll be able to do things like you know the balance changing over eight hours or a day or things like that but for now it's uh from one transaction to the next and so let's just dive in and take a look at it because it's actually quite a bit easier to just show uh than it is to tell you about uh cool so logged in uh here's my projects list um for those who aren't familiar all i've actually done here is like sign in uh if you didn't have a

  42. 21:40

project yet you'd budget at this create screen here uh rather than seeing the project list uh where you can either you know make a blank project um if you already have a dap or if you're building a dab and you kind of know what you're doing uh or you can go this tutorial route and walk through like our nft marketplace tutorial from the documentation all from within the console and with interactivity as well so uh kind of great if you are a beginner

  43. 22:05

but today we're going to click into an established project and in fact we'll click into this ref demo project i made here and so we land on the contract screen right here uh and so i've got the v2 ref farming contract added there now you can see you know some quick info about it the account balance and the storage used and then below that the recent transactions uh if i had multiple contracts added to

  44. 22:29

this project this would actually be like a zipped up list of recent transactions for both of the contracts that's why there's the name of it here but in this case you know i've just got b2 farming rev uh on here as well so alerts the reason we're here let's stop here in so i've got an alert here that i'll set up and then i also have uh you can already see it was working uh a web hook uh webhook.site here to actually test it live uh so we can you know show the proof uh that it's actually working so you can see

  45. 23:00

these are old the last time i demo this was on seven seven uh so we'll yeah pop in here i do have this existing alert but we'll walk let's walk through making a new one uh just so you can see the whole thing and then i'll just cancel it at the end and reactivate my existing alert so as i mentioned here you know you select a target a condition and a destination actually i should say destinations because you can select multiple destinations

  46. 23:24

um but so down here we click this and you see like i mentioned if you have added contracts to your project already uh you have them suggested down here in this list so we do have the v2 farmingraph.near but you know we could type let's say we wanted all versions of uh oops i'm off by one uh you know ref farming we could also do that as well and then we could cover v1 and v2 and potentially any future versions if they continue to

  47. 23:49

use that naming pattern but yeah any account sub-account also works as well but in this case we do want to observe the farming contract and then conditions so there's a couple down here and i'll kind of walk through them because you know some of them are super quick and some need a little more explanation uh so successful and failed transaction here you know this is as you'd expect really not much to configure you're going to get an alert uh when there's a successful transaction that payload is

  48. 24:19

going to include the transaction hash and it will only fire if that transaction is successful not with this failed transaction same deal it'll fire when there's a failed transaction you'll get the transaction hash and you can go from there event logged so event logged and function called both both have some special things to mention about them so uh in parallel the dev tools team is working on uh an abi standard for near so for those who don't know that stands

  49. 24:56

for application binary interface and really all that means in this case uh is it's just a manifest file or the use of the part that's useful for us here is it's a manifest file that contains all of the functions um on that contract along with their function signatures and methods to deserialize and serialize any like json potentially or like arbitrary or custom data types uh in

  50. 25:20

that contract and so that's going to allow us to do things like also check for the data included in the event or the i believe for the function call we could actually incorporators uh pass to that function uh for a little more uh fine-grained uh alerting as well um but for now we are able to still offer these um it's just a little bit more uh manual work and a little less filtering so like for event logs and we can uh you know trigger an event based on this uh but you'll have to fill in the event name uh standard and

  51. 25:52

version here or you know what actually trigger it you don't necessarily have to fill in all three uh and then similarly for a function called uh you can fill in the function name here as well so like yeah i don't know as i previously had used nft approve here uh and then you'll get a an alert anytime that particular function is called on that contract another useful thing with the avi actually is that this will be able to

  52. 26:16

also have a suggestion suggested down here as well since we'll be able to you know decode all the function names so let's go back over here and you know what i actually will set this one up because i have a successful transaction uh alert already so let's set up a failed one and actually use it uh and so down here you've got your destinations uh you can actually well we'll go back to the screen there is a list of destinations that you can view separately from this to configure them but you can also do it in line right here so you can edit them over

  53. 26:47

here with the pencil icon like of course you can also could add a new destination from the screen so looking at that first you can see we've got the options that we talked about you know telegram here also a web hook and then we're working on email as well kind of a note there i'll put the kanye link to dev console in here as well here definitely comment uh on any you know new or other

  54. 27:11

destinations that you want as well um once again kind of like the stats page like we're definitely aware of a bunch of useful potential destinations email being one sentry you know things for air reporting be a in addition to slack you know there's there's many different um uh relevant options here and so really it's just a matter of prioritizing them uh really at this point uh so in this

  55. 27:35

case though i'll cancel this and we'll look a little bit deeper at this so yeah for the web hook you know like i mentioned this is of course uh just going to send the payload to this url uh and actually i'll check that we're using the same one 603c5 603c5 okay cool um so yep that's definitely the webhook site destination you can also give these custom names so you know i just called it web book destination but you can have

  56. 28:06

multiple destinations of the same type so if you're sending this to like multiple uh web hook destinations you'll probably want to name them accordingly uh for extra security we also include uh this secret in the header as well uh so you can confirm that it's coming uh from pagoda dev console uh not from anyone else and of course you could also delete similarly here for telegram uh i won't uh for timing i won't go through and set the whole thing up but we provide you know some nice instructions here uh to

  57. 28:37

get a telegram about up and running or excuse me to get telegram hooked up and then you know the dev console bot will then i'll send you a message anytime your alert fires as well uh but so in this case we'll keep on the web hook destination uh it'll actually create this one this cool cool and uh i don't think there will probably be many failed transactions so let's re-add uh the successful one uh which brings up another thing so alerts now so on alert

  58. 29:09

uh what can we actually do to manage it so if we pop in here we can of course edit the name uh we automatically give a figure to the alert so you can notice like i didn't name this this was just called a call let me go back one because you watched me make it i didn't name this right you didn't see me edit the name but we automatically called it you know the trigger type and then the contract so failed transaction in v2farming.ref

  59. 29:34

dot near and then there's also a toggle switch over here on the right which i was going to look at in this little uh transaction here and this is the plus switch so uh if you just want to turn an alert off temporarily you're able to do that via this pause here and then you can reactivate it whenever you want so i'll turn that back on we'll uh let that percolate a little bit see how actively people are farming on ref right now i imagine uh something will come in here oh raiding on that i'll pop over here

  60. 30:05

just to show you that yes you can manage the destination separately elections um so we've got the web hook destination it's fully configured no issues there telegram like you saw i didn't you don't started it i created the destination but i didn't actually configure telegram so we give you a little helpful indicator here as well to remind you to actually finish configuring that and you can of course have an across donation

  61. 30:27

even from this even cool cool so well that is working there which now i'm realizing i actually hope that webhook.site maybe this has timed out actually it could potentially uh they may not respond but we'll see if it doesn't uh in the next five minutes i'll have minutes let's get a new server uh the other thing to take a look at yes i mentioned was near lake so yes near lake uh is the uh easier more reliable

  62. 30:56

way to build an indexer uh using near um so like we can actually mention kind of with those explorer stats this is definitely what you'll want to use to grab any more of that like longer form data or any of those larger queries uh and so this page uh you know helpfully summarizes kind of the benefits of near lake and then also provides you with some tutorials here as well in addition to a link out to actually

  63. 31:20

the full documentation site uh right here which is yeah near dash indexers.io if you want to check this out so this that goes from the ground up there in the future this will be even more integrated uh into um a console um so like for example um your leg's built on s3 storage right which means like right now you're kind of you're going through aws like your existing aws account for the billing and things like that but we'll make that a much more seamless

  64. 31:51

experience by integrating that into dev console eventually as well and then while i'm here a quick review uh you talking about stats for those who weren't here last time so uh the previous release we introduced uh this lytic screen uh and so this uh like i said provides 21 different pre-configured metrics and visualizations here and so before i dive into those i'll just quickly show you at the top here we've got the dates here so in this point this in this case excuse me we're

  65. 32:26

looking at everything this year so this is everything after cheese is actually the last two years now this is everything from january 2021 onward now we've got our contracts here you can add multiple ones you don't actually have to stay constrained to the ones on the contract screen you can also remove them as well and actually if you remove all of them this is why i mentioned this on the mention that's discussion you actually get some ecosystem stats some of which

  66. 32:51

actually are not on the explorer yet so if you want some inspiration for stats you may want to see uh you could take uh as well uh and suggest those on the explorer cami um but for now let me uh go back here to there we go uh to the ref contract and actually let's uh make this table a little more reasonable maybe just this year cool so yes fascinating stuff here since the beginning of the year yeah 130 million transactions uh for

  67. 33:29

the ref farming contract that's pretty awesome uh so up here yeah you've got some kind of quick info tiles here you know things that are just numeric in value along with their you know any like trend data or change data down here as well um so you've got you know total number of transactions balances um uh things of that that nature as well those kind of top-line stats then down here you've got more of a visualization of your transaction versus users and then this starts to get into the

  68. 34:01

really exciting stuff some of these more computed properties here so you've got you know your number of new users bro users but also your user retention so how often after people transact with your contract are they coming back and transacting again other than stats here your monthly weekly and daily active users also your ratios here as well really nice for measuring uh retention on top of that this chart up here

  69. 34:29

volumes and balances this is where i was mentioning like you've even got like your top users here users this is really useful um if you're like running a marketplace or something you want to identify your modem active or at least like your whales maybe if you're like in ref finance um and this is this goes pretty deep so you can go home you know you said you can see this is the first 2 000 uh accounts here so it's definitely uh definitely everything you need is in

  70. 34:54

there you need down to the bottom here uh we have some gas statistics so we've got the daily you've got gas used and then also the cumulative amount of gas used as well by this contract or contracts if you have multiple ones in here as well so where this is going in the future a little bit of you know styling work uh clearly you know this is in here this is a collaboration between us and daetrix on something called wambi uh and so this is yeah like i framed in uh we're working on theming this to actually

  71. 35:28

match dev console and be a little more integrated but more excitingly than that two things on the roadmap that you'll see in that candy board as well that i encourage you to comment on so integration of off chain uh analytics as well so if you want to collect off-chain data uh in your dap you'll be able to actually combine that with the on-chain data in this dashboard and then finally just might be where

  72. 35:53

this led in your head you'll also be able to build your own dashboard as well so like i mentioned this one's turnkey which is great it's pre-configured with the 21 different uh metrics and visualizations um but of course eventually and especially with that off chain data you're going to want to be able to build your own dashboard tile by touch and so we'll be offering that as well

  73. 36:17

and let's pop back over here and see if hey look at that cool the server did stay active good for you webhook.site uh and so we can see here let's see if the any any of these were failed actually looks like these are all successful yeah i figured farming's been around for quite a while so you can see here um the the payload that we get uh from the alert so now we know bash the receipt id that actually triggered uh this and then the transaction as well so um

  74. 36:49

receipt id for a successful transaction right maybe doesn't matter as much but for something like a function call or an event being fired um you know multiple receipts can exist in a single transaction and often do and so you know you'll get multiple alerts for that as well that's kind of anticipating a question here but yeah the alerts are actually in a per receipt basis um so let's say someone you know mints two tokens in a same transaction

  75. 37:13

or a cross-contract call means that token in that same transaction you'll get you'll get an alert for um both of those function calls that you're observing so nothing gets lost there you can also see that bearer token there as well really nice uh let's see i talked about longer alert timelines i'm just going through my head making sure i didn't miss any cool future stuff that's coming up

  76. 37:44

um yeah i talked about what folks talked about additional destinations talked a little bit about the abi um one kind of thing to mention here this is uh coming up in a future release but that abi also enables um greater or easier contract interaction so part of what we'll be using that for is actually generating forms to interact with your contracts right from within dev console so um between that and also the ability to automatically

  77. 38:15

add your contracts to dev console from the cli once you deploy them that leads to this really nice like integration testing loop where like you can deploy your contracts on your local environment they show up in dev console you execute the functions in the forms you can see the results in the explorer views uh within dev console and then redeploy again uh potentially if you need to make any changes uh also

  78. 38:39

great for you know quick demos as well since essentially by generating a contract form we're kind of like generating a little front end for you as well so just a little kind of tease there of what's going on in the future so yeah definitely dive into alerts i've already gotten some great feedback about them but yeah dive in test them yourself um this will be available um we are targeting

  79. 39:06

end of the last week of july uh for the release that's going to include alerts i should mention that i'm kind of fellow doesn't kind of acting like you can just dive in and try it now that's not now um but yeah i definitely hope you enjoyed this definitely comment on it there are things in the canny which is right here and i will paste uh into the chat as well cool yes definitely comment on that very excited about that i think yeah alerts are going to be huge uh really saves you

  80. 39:44

a lot of time you know now if you don't need to actually index any data and you're just using it for something like this you don't have to set up anything anymore uh you'll just be able to click or just be in this interface uh and yeah get the data that you need real quick i'll show you uh one last thing kind of uncanny while i'm in here uh you can actually quickly switch between our products on here as well so

  81. 40:11

you know i'm i got in here first so i set up dev console and explore um but be on the lookout other teams will be set the team their products in here as well and here you'll see things from data platform um you'll see you know potentially here dev tools definitely tool um yeah so be on the lookout for the yeah really convenient to switch between these and then also in the future we'll make it so your dev console account will have

  82. 40:36

you automatically logged into kanye as well and that is really the long and short of it so yeah i'm definitely down to take any questions or maybe some have popped up that i have not answered yet awesome yeah thanks thanks so much josh for uh going through all that yeah we have a couple of questions um one uh does the event web hooks support custom events or just standardized events like

  83. 41:12

uh nft or fungible token events um yeah uh i'm sorry for not joining the very beginning uh yes so regarding the events we will support all the uh all the standard event json uh events which means nft ft and also anything any extensions that still follow the even json nap that is out there so yes to custom events as well cool awesome um also um this shows padded gas is this base is this configurable uh slash dynamic based on contract activity

  84. 42:08

i forget where you were showing uh uh the pedagas portion of it if a contract uses 900 tera gas every day will it show up as 0.9 peta with a graph used hair gas yeah right here this one yeah yeah currently this is not uh customizable this will be uh eventually um which actually this is a good point i wonder if we could i was gonna eventually i was gonna say well yeah when you can build your own dashboard you'll

  85. 42:44

be able to change this but i wonder um we might be able to make some things like that configurable before actually getting to that stage um so i'll make a note about that because that is a good point that is it's like stuck in peta gas essentially right now which may not be practical for all contracts cool cool cool um another question and yeah uh feel free anyone if you have any questions about anything we've discussed or anything in general regarding deaf counsel or explorer please feel free to

  86. 43:16

drop them in chat or in the q a button below um yeah we have one question uh with that q a button and someone's asking will pagoda turn into a subscription service in the future it depends on the service i mean big question i mean like i mean yes but there's a lot of open question marks there i will say that we're not focused on generating revenue at this point uh we're focused on delivering you know delivering value to users into the ecosystem

  87. 43:51

um but i will say they will be very transparent about anything that we'll you know be charged for in the future uh essentially so you know we don't want a scenario where you're using something in depth console you come to rely on it and then we just randomly say that you now need to pay us money um would it would it be fair to say that like this dev console will always be uh a free platform or a free tool to use

  88. 44:15

but at some point there may be um like maybe rate limiting or something where like if you want like um if you wanted to work past x amount of i don't know uh you know there will be certain like limitations that might be implemented in the future um and and or but yeah i don't know is that a fair is that a fair uh statement yes and i'm glad you said that actually because i didn't really uh hit that point uh at all specifically yeah no totally it'd be freemium for sure like

  89. 44:46

there would always be a free tier of some kind but yeah you're correct that like you know there's a lot of infrastructure running under the hood it does have to be sustainable so yeah i mean we're gonna have to uh yeah put in something in place uh for higher usage for sure um cool but yeah there will always be some kind of free plan though cool awesome um i don't see any other questions uh please feel free to ask them maybe it's uh uh a good just to clarify a statement

  90. 45:15

that you made earlier there was a little bit of chat in the background i know this can be uploaded to youtube but you said something about near um indexy uh lake uh or no near indexer framework uh being deprecated in favor of lake framework um but there's it's actually not going to be deprecated um it'll it's actually what powers near lake framework maybe further you could uh kind of um clarify that question that was or clarify that that statement

  91. 45:46

definitely so near the next framework is part of near core and it will stay there it's it's evolving with the the protocol it's it's living creature part of the near core so i don't expect it ever being deprecated um for for re like for real uh the uh the communication probably was uh grating towards that we will recommend to use lake ecosystem more because it's more lightweight easier to use

  92. 46:17

and in most of the cases it does exactly what people are seeking for and asking for before be because uh to run indexer framework you need to actually maintain the hole on your core node and it's quite heavy and uh compared to lake framework and uh requires a regular upgrades once near core has a new protocol version with lake ecosystem you can implement your indexers in a number of languages i mean programming languages and well so we started with rust then

  93. 46:59

js and type typescript followed and the uh the announcement that we haven't put yet because it's very early on is that the python version of a new lake framework is already in the in the final stages uh right now so uh nearly a link ecosystem is definitely vibrant and it helps a lot for the app developers uh to to build hassle-free indexers uh compared to uh the elixir framework so i think indexer framework would be there for for those who

  94. 47:42

evolve uh further and want to build like true decentralized platform and they will depend on peer-to-peer uh protocol of near protocol um but for for the onboarding i believe new lake uh ecosystem is uh is just our goal to go to recommendation solution uh for now yeah so that was probably the miscommunication on that bar i hope it's much clearer now yeah yeah yeah totally and actually

  95. 48:22

um seems like we might actually have uh um you know the near api uh error enhanced api rest server um or rest endpoints that um that that's pretty uh user-friendly and that might actually be the the very first um solution that people might want to check out once that gets live uh i know there's like a beta that's out for it or um proof of concept um but yeah that might be something that's like the easiest for developers to use and probably get most of the information they're looking for

  96. 48:56

and then the next step might be you know near lake um if they actually need something a little bit more robust or and then you know yeah the further the progression would be um near any indexer uh framework that that's underneath everything but but yeah thanks so much for for um for uh yeah clarifying that point and yeah if you're interested in anything data platform uh or sorry uh yeah data platform-wise um check out our community meeting which is the data platform

  97. 49:26

meeting last thursday of the month um will there be a youtube learning resource for dev console there are a lot of good resources uh even on near university but nothing coming from pagoda for devs thinking about people doing ncd that want a quick honor to making projects um yeah i believe uh josh is actually working with dorian right now with um a uh a video i'm not sure what the with

  98. 49:58

the uh i think it's just like an overview of it josh you want to talk a little bit more about about that yeah definitely um so yeah we have talked about both of those things so definitely uh we're currently working on uh the overview video right now which you know there will be an overview video overview video excuse me that accompanies all of our major releases and this one with alerts is definitely one of those

  99. 50:21

but we did also talk about um more learning focused type of videos as well especially as we you know continue adding features to dev console so stay tuned that is definitely on our radar cool awesome thank you um any other questions anyone has please feel free we'll give it another minute or so if you have a question please drop it there is one that i see at least i'm not sure maybe it's not appearing on our side

  100. 50:54

so the question is uh whether there are any plans on near lake uh to be to have rv integration and so far we haven't considered that uh but we'll be definitely on the look uh but i believe we will uh first thing in think and see and consider using uh makina which which is based on near core implementation for the solution for storage uh so that's probably our go-to solution that we'll use i hope the dancers but it's it's not

  101. 51:36

um under the immediate uh roadmap for now sorry guys cool uh so any date on machina um and you said no right now correct yeah so i i'm i'm not part of that team uh who's working on it so unfortunately i'm not the right person to ask cool all right uh yeah again uh if you have any further questions please drop them in the chat we'll give another minute or so for anyone to ask a question otherwise we can wrap up but yeah i know lots of lots of good

  102. 52:26

things uh today lots of features uh being released in dev console uh land a lot of progress being made really really excited about what's to come for sure yeah definitely uh any integration for dev console and octopus oh interesting um i mean i will say just personally i would yeah love for dev console to uh like interact with you know other protocols like that that would be really

  103. 52:57

cool um but that is uh i will say that's not on the on the lab concretely currently um but i do have like other protocol support i guess a thing um like hypotheticals cool it's good to know i'll note that though that like octopus specifically uh there was requested uh thank you maddies cool cool cool well unless we have another question um yeah thanks thanks so much josh for for the presentation today yes sorry i'm sorry for all the um technical difficulties we had with uh josh's other but i think

  104. 53:40

turning off the video actually fixed it uh because yeah you didn't you weren't choppy for the rest of the presentation um so yeah i think thanks everyone for for being so patient and um working with us and um yeah please join us next month yeah we'll be returning to our regular schedule of the first thursday of the month will be dev consulate explorer um and uh yeah look forward to chat with

  105. 54:04

you if you have any questions uh or comments please uh yeah reach out to to us uh in discord near.chat and um yeah the engineering channels in there also office hours daily um if you go to near.org forward slash office dash hours you can talk to anybody on the devrel team and ask any questions and we'll try to find the answers for you um but yeah with that thanks so much uh everyone and yeah we'll see you next time

  106. 54:37

    thanks everyone
