Protocol upgrade 86 → 88 on mainnet (opens in a new tab)
mainnet runs protocol 86; nearcore 2.14.0 moves it to 88. Block-producer votes this epoch: 87: 95.1% of stake; a version needs more than 80% of stake. Protocol 87 has passed the threshold and takes effect two epochs on. Voting steps: 87 from 2026-11-04T00:00 UTC, 88 from 2026-11-06T00:00 UTC. Validators and RPC node operators must run the new nearcore before voting starts; contracts relying on removed features break at the switch (get_protocol_status lists them).
