Welcome everybody! This year's NearCon 2023 in Lisbon was a great success! Let's start our hackathon orientation. We are creating a new solution to onboard the next billion users. We don't expect you to build a whole well-rounded project throughout the 48 hours, build an MVP... impress us with the idea and then they will show your solution to 50k users, the existing real breathing people. We will choose just the best pitch at this hackathon.
- 0:30
The first day we checked everyone in and opened the pizza party to all the developers. The next three days, we had a lot of amazing speakers. The DevHub portal is the main place for developers to find everything that they need to be able to contribute to the NEAR ecosystem.
- 0:58
You can submit ideas there and proposals, find resources, get sponsorships, and also discover communities working in a variety of areas, from protocol development to zero knowledge. You can bootstrap the traction of your decentralized applications using DevHub.
- 1:13
It is designed to be the support for the whole ecosystem. Once the developers get involved with DevHub with NEAR, we want to keep them here, to give them all the tools so they can keep working. The role of DevHub, as I see it, is to provide the scaling solutions to the ecosystem.
- 1:30
We're starting to organize community groups. We started the fellowship program. We're launching NEAR Campus, bringing more engagement with universities. We have the DevHub portal. This is new. This is like a few days. Fundings, sponsorships, proposals, everything is there.
- 1:43
This is the place where people come when they want to get funded, when they want to get support. We launched Hackbox, our tool to help the community to organize hackathons, to organize events. Which is a template solution, basically, for those who want to run a hackathon.
- 1:58
The beauty in decentralization is being able to empower on an individual level, while also scaling at a community level. Not only do we provide funding support to anyone that wants to host a hackathon, we're also productizing the team's knowledge, giving you guidelines from how to set up your registration form, how to talk to sponsors.
- 2:20
Our amazing designer here, Sasha, created templatized designs that anyone can fork and edit to meet their own needs. So really, it's an end-to-end plug-and-play solution for anyone to be able to host NEAR hackathons to empower their communities.
- 2:35
Our DevHub team is here to mentor the hackers and grow our ecosystem. We believe to stop marketing and start engaging. That's what we're doing over at DevHub. We want to actually start to engage you as a user, and better understand what do you need, and how do we help you be successful, instead of us trying to put our product to you.
- 2:55
Our end goal as DevHub is to actually find and retain a lot of talented people with bright ideas. It's really great to be in the hackathon, because we can meet people from the community and collaborate with them. You can see the new projects that are being created right here.
- 3:12
If you are new to NEAR, but you still have a pretty good technical background, find the leaders, talk to them, reach out to them, ask for guidance. It's our third year that we're working with NEAR, and it's our second NearCon we are attending in a row.
- 3:29
It wouldn't be possible for us to be here once again, without the DevHub community. If you are a newcomer trying to get into NEAR, or if you are one of the OGs, you can always count on them guys, because they will always be there for you.
- 3:40
NEAR is a very global community. We had over 8,000 hackers hack with us last year. And it is an open source project, so anyone is welcome to contribute. We're going to give you opportunities to actually compete in challenges, and essentially build up a reputation within the ecosystem.
- 3:58
We want to foster a culture of opt-in and genuine engagement in Web3. Our Dev Hub team judged all the submissions based on originality, technical acumen and business visibility. The top-top submissions got the chance to pitch the project to a live audience.
- 4:32
We're Obrigado and we're here to talk to you about enabling compute on the NEAR ecosystem by utilizing idle computing power. Our project is called Proof of Reputation. We are NEAR UniHelp. Our project, B4B. Can we use B4B to bring more users to NEAR Social?
- 4:49
Partyngo is a game that you can play whenever you're with a party of friends, hackers or colleagues. Can you talk a little bit about your intended revenue model? Hi there from the Dapplets team and we have implemented the B.O.S. Mutation Proposal.
- 5:04
RODiT is a non-fungible token that is digitally signed to bring together the contract, the authentication, and the payment life cycles in one go. I am happy to present to you Assisterr, which is a developer relationship platform powered by AI.
- 5:20
So how does the system know when and how to involve a human? I'm here to present DeFi Builder. The world's first fully no-code Web3 development platform that will empower the next generation of Web3 builders. I'm a founder of platform for startups, NEXT.
- 5:35
GM GM! The future of governance... Now we, you and I, will take a 10-minute break to select the pitching competition winner. Let's go backstage. The winner of the Pitch Contest... It's DeFi Builder. Thanks for all the builders who participated in Hackathon.
- 6:00
I mean, all the projects are really exciting. There's a ton of other nominations as well, so this is not the only thing. Continue building. There's tons of stuff to build across the open web in Web 3. NearCon had over 150 speakers, three venues, and 3,000 people registered.
- 6:20
It's been an amazing event, as I said. It's been an amazing event. None of this would have been possible without the whole NEAR community, everyone here in this room. Developers, builders, founders. Thanks to all the hackers that participated in the event.
- 6:34
The DevHub team is looking forward to seeing you next year.
