About this video
MyNearWallet is being sunset at the end of 2026. If it's the only place your keys live, you need to move your account before then. This video walks through the built-in export tool, step by step, from MyNearWallet to Meteor Wallet, plus the other options if you'd rather go to near.com or export your private key manually.
Your tokens and account live on chain, so nothing gets lost in the move. You're just giving a new wallet access to the same account.

Hey folks, if you haven't heard already, if you haven't heard already, my near wallet is being sunset. As you can see, the banner message right here. And I'm going to show you really quick how you can actually export out of here. There's a couple different ways that we can do this. Uh, obviously, there's a button you see right here at top that says export accounts. But let me just show you some different things that go along with this and how this all work. A quick reminder, when you have a crypto wallet
- 0:22
of any kind, the information is stored on chain. It's not stored actually in the wallet. The problem is that for many people is that this is where your keys actually live right now. Maybe you don't have your keys someplace else. If you just have your keys and you just know your seed phrase, you can go to any wallet, put that seed phrase in and go from there. Uh you'll even see here that there is a way to export my local private key and I can put that in
- 0:46
someplace else as well. So I have that opportunity to do that. And again, I have the seed phrase for this account and I can just take this account and go wherever with it to any wallet. But if you're stuck in a bind where you don't actually do that, you don't use your wallet that often, uh there's a really easy way to do this. It's built right into my near wallet. It's going to help me uh export over to Meteor wallet.
- 1:12
So, I've clicked export accounts. So, just make sure if you have multiple accounts in here, you can do this with multiple accounts, uh, and not just the one. Um, so I'm going to do it with this one account that I have loaded in here.
- 1:26
And you can see there's a couple different options here. I can transfer to Meteor wallet. Just this is a near uh based wallet and I can just it has a web wallet, also has a mobile app and also uses a browser extension or I can transfer to near.com and go from there as well.
- 1:44
Uh this is the easiest path. This is the no seed phrase. Or I can just do it manually like I mentioned before. I go to manual. It will show you my private key. Then I can go from there. If I go to near.com, so it's going to take this and it's going to give a guide on how to do it.
- 2:02
So it's just a couple different steps of how to go through and do that transfer. It's very straightforward, but it's a little bit more advanced than um some of the other things because you do have to follow some of the different steps and you're now in the near.com ecosystem, which is great, especially if you're doing crosschain stuff, things like that. If I just want to go over to Meteor Wallet, I'm just going to keep
- 2:23
using stuff on Near. I'm just going to simply hold it. Uh I have some maybe some long-term lockups, things like that. I can go to here and I just follow the steps. So, yep, I have my selected account. I can either do again like I mentioned, mobile app, the Chrome extension, or the Meteor web. I'll just do the web for right now. So, you can see I had a other test account in there already. You put your password in if you already have. If you don't have one, it'll ask you to set a password. It will say, do you want to link to this? And yep, I want to link to
- 2:54
this app because I want to do this transfer. I'm going to set up a recovery method. Or I can if I made a mistake I can hit decline again here. So what's the recovery phase here this is I'm going to copy and I'm going to save it and then from here once I now have saved it I'm going to go here. It's going to ask me to confirm the first and the 12th word of that phrasing. So I verified that. So now
- 3:26
you'll see it says numeric keys will be added to selected accounts. Keep this page open till every account is confirmed. So we are just waiting for this. I'm going to activate my key. So now it goes. Make sure you click that. You don't just wait the whole time. It says completed. Now I'm going to verify.
- 3:49
So I open that back up your wallet. It's going to verify destination keys. Here is that demo account again. Let me verify that. I need to put the wallet password in. Nothing to do. It's now fully imported. I can go here. There we go. You can see the tokens I had in there as before. And I can go back and I can verify now. I can Yes, I can start using Meteor. And it will open that up. But I can also now go back to my wallet and you'll see it here and you say, "Oh, didn't I just
- 4:26
transfer it?" Well, you did. You open it in a new wallet, but it still exists here because again, everything is on chain. My near wallet is just a place to do this. The last step would be is if you want to remove your account information from this wallet, you can do that as well. If I go to my account and I go to remove account from wallet, I can then do that and it will remove this from my near wallet and it will be here.
- 4:51
This I have access to recovery which I do. Remove account and now I'm reset back to basic state. Really simple, really fast. You can do this all just in a few minutes and transfer over to Meteor Wallet and you're
