joined by year with updates from Pikes PE the Magna we'll talk about the project currently working on uh it's called get secured and last but not least Vlad with stack updates including Cas Decay CI and workspaces also we'll be announcing the lunch of but more than that later on the call without further Ado if you're ready DD you can take it away yeah thank you hi guys uh very excited to be in this call it's been a while as as I mentioned earlier um yeah I I I I wanted to um introduce to you guys the new D5 view on Pike so I'm going I guess to uh share my screen right now and um yeah so we just released uh the defi Alpha dashboard uh last time we had the live which is basically all the defi events on year uh we are still working on the passing of um a few events like uh borrow cash for example to make sure that anyone can see the amount the token associated with uh this specific events and just to give people an appetite of you know the um the the the market flow on near and we're going to had uh I mean we can add any um open-source um defi daps here basically but the exciting thing is uh the search function right where you can search any swap um on refinance at the moment uh we're going to had um jumbo trading um and um and deex in a second step but here you can basically uh look at any swap so let's say I want to check um every swap above 1,000 USD um so the cool thing is obviously the USD value right because you can also check um The Next Step will be to reconstruct the pnl for any Trader so I don't know if you are used to teex screener uh but that's basically the same thing but not for any pair but for any U token basically uh on the new blockchain so so what Insight can we extract from that uh well basically if you if we look at uh all the swaps above onek we see that's mainly liquid staking tokens for example we have a lot of uh yeah W near usdc and uh normally we should have yeah quite a lot of stables as well um the other Insight is that there's no meme coins here I don't know I'm I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of what's happening on Solana but it's pretty crazy with P fun uh Sol I mean p fun is has been uh creating over 1,200,000 tokens in less than six months and I think 80% of token creation uh comes from actually p. fund on Solana uh but here on near people are not yet making money on those mem coins and I guess we need also to to uh showcase those you know how people because how people make actually money on year and I guess with all the launchpads that we will have um in like over the summer uh we're going to be able to show that and show those user Journeys right and and user success stories basically uh but for example yeah if we look at um if we look at uh let's say a mem coin right uh so I can check uh you one for for example I don't know why I have a problem actually with uh so that's a small bug sorry um just have a problem with the filter here the USM for example um I'm not even sure there's a trade over 1,000 over the last 30 days um but yeah let's check for example trades over 50k um and and you can also uh and you can also search by uh any address um and and this when you will search by so for example every swap above 15K we see a lot of liquid staking tokens but also a lot of stable and then that's always the same story right if you want to dig in uh you can basically uh you know check one address this one for example quite a huge volume right almost uh yeah uh over 3,000k over the last uh 35 minutes uh and you can check this address and then um by clicking on it and then yeah and then look at uh this user Journey so and if you want to check for example here let's say uh one address so this one has not this one has not traded let me check this one for example yeah and then you can have all the swaps for uh one specific wallet basically um so for example we see quite a huge inflow or you know to buy borrow tokens here from this wallets um and yeah and we use those J stories uh to tell people what's what's the defi um what's the what are the defi use cases basically on here um we have the mimas but this you know um because I presented it last time token creation as well all the recently created tokens on here um and if you want to that will be useful for dig right if you want to check well this this new token uh I want to check if there's any trade basically on it uh same thing for all the pool creation on ref um you have yeah all the recently created pools on ref and finally we haded a new um for the like Blue Chip defi DS a new metrix page so let's say for example you want to check uh refinance you have uh the main the core contract the DCL contract here and the farming contract and uh yeah and you can see that uh the cumulated unique users and new users acquisition um new daily users acquisition uh what you see here this growth is a hot wallet um redirecting users to ref for example GTL is more constant and uh yeah and for the farming contract this growth is also associated with hot wallet hot telegram wallet users and um yeah and it's it's if there's anything missing here we just want the main one here to not pollute with a lot of stuff that don't have you know any traction but yeah we have the main uh the main ones here so that's the defi page we're going to improve the search function here and that's for the swap but ideally we want also to remove the swap here and have a filter for you know defy uh event type like uh I want to look at Swap I want to look at U add and remove liquidity events I want to look at borrowing or L lending events for example and so on um yeah so that's uh yeah that's the D5 view we've been working uh for the last uh three months on that and uh yeah and we are quite excited we work as well with the near Foundation to tell to leverage that to tell those user stories so yeah try and if let let let let me know if there is a yeah any issue or if you if you are trading on ref for example if you manage to see your Swap and if the value uh seems accurate uh that's uh that could be a great feedback for us amazing um thanks a lot D but is this data going to be um also available on your API that you provide is this something that people can using yes yes we want to we want to do that because now um you know communities they use for 99.9% uh Telegram and they have those um buts you know buy butts on telegram right so ideally we want to release a web socket and anyone if you want to look at uh one specific token then basically you you you you are getting um fed with all the with all the by events for your token for example um I think the key thing obviously is the USD value that we recompute historically as well um so we we can really tell an estimated pnl for any user obviously um you know that's you can't have the accurate picture because if you do a transfer and then if you sell only 5% uh you're going to have the p&l is going to be a bit weird right but but that's how Dex screener does the pnl and it's working pretty well bir ey as well so you can at least extract some valuable information yeah and um also like especially for I mean as you mentioned people using Bots or like using such kind of data to feed it into Bots uh how what is the delay that you that we see on Pikes PE or by the API uh from the actual transactions before they instant oh it's instant or near instant uh near instant well if you swap you should see it in in in less than a second in the live view for example and in the search function amazing so that's a very useful information that I'm sure that a lot of interesting projects can make use of for the updates yeah the the the goal is really two things uh the first one is to um for any Dent to you know have a view of what was the historical um big picture on def on year and see if you know I want to check this user I'm interested in this trade I'm interested in this kind of user because I see a lot of volume um so just to allow opportunities for digs and the second one is to basically uh showcase when people actually make money and we know that usually that tends to attract you know new users new users because they are opportunities right so we're going to tell we're going to be able to tell the stories um easier moving onwards amazing thanks any other questions for D I would take that as a no uh then moving on with the agenda uh I believe we have tamagna with us uh Magna has been working on get secured which uh is going to be presented now the magma do we have you on the call so uh okay so just to give you an idea of what I'm trying to do uh so yeah I come from a cyber security background uh and uh we're trying to build an automated uh audit engine for n and in general for rust based smart contract because majority of the tool is available for the solidity world but in the N non EV world in the rest world uh typescript based uh we when I actually looked into this you was exploring how to do smart contract I was not able to find any good uh good tool or solution for that so essentially obviously I put my product hand on and then thought uh why don't we try to build something around it so um yeah so that is how this journey has started uh so we I already have a tool which which is actually automated solid smart contract analyzer but this is that's a different thing so this is specifically building only for rust best product and how we're trying to design it in three layers uh first layer is on the reusing the existing uh the cargo crits or packages which is available there are multiple others are available but there is predominantly you know more popular ones which I could find and this is where I would love to seek your suggestions and advices how to enhance it is uh audit uh cargo audit cargo clippy gizer udep and there is something called Miri uh these are a few uh packages of utilities are already available so uh uh without getting into much details into it but essentially that will help you to identify if you're using any deprecated uh packages or are you using any vulnerable package probably you're using a lower version of Library which has certain vulnerabilities and stuff like that some kind of encryption encryption so it looks into your uh cargo. 2 AML files understand the dependencies and give you what kind of various vulnerability and issues probably there um clippy is a linter using that you can actually find out various kind of uh linting uh under formatting issues however this can also has capability of give you little higher higher level warnings which is let's say probably unused variable un variable and stuff like that so uh I'm still kind of looking into it getting as deep as possible so this is just a first cut I would say alpha or probably a pre-alpha so what do we try to do one side we kind of consolidating all possible tools because running it individually clubbing the report and all this this is Al not only security but also a productivity problem so what if I can create a one single solution or a tool or a script uh which can actually execute all the uh tools possible and give you uh the report in in a Consolidated manner so that is the first step and the second step is actually building custom checks for rest based smart contracts a lot of this is a kind of quite popular and familiar reentrancy Access Control uncheck returns uh unprotected s t truck so these are various vulnerability which is pretty standard in the obviously in the in the evm world and we have SE tools like Lether and all this available but the rest kind of you know I'm trying to create custom checks on that so it is basically I created a parcel which actually parses smart contracts identifies the patterns and help you to identify uh various vulnerabilities and third is looking into other tools so sem grape and few other tools available in the market so the road map wise you know these are the few things which I would like to add but essentially the idea is this is the one single place where you can execute as many possible combinations of tools together and get the best possible report out of it and in terms of usage and output how I'm trying to expose it is uh there will be a command line utility like create this like a command line tool a CL um there will be an API um there's a dashboard there's a visual studio plugin and uh cicd and browser plugin so this is overall the right now the Mind map behind this product uh just a disclaimer I haven't implemented the entire thing is still in development I'll just show you know one by one what the various components have implemented so the first thing is as I said uh this tool is initially right now is built in Python but essentially the plan is Will migrate and create this as a as a utility in cargo so so essentially this is basically a a python passer which actually scans uh you can pass a smart contract like a project um which is basically a project of your uh kind of uh um uh your your cargo project like a project and it will one by one scan all this issues as a command line tool so uh so what I've done is I have actually gone ahead and um exported the uh kind of uh um the cargo near near template which is available uh which is basically the one which is available in the GitHub so near GitHub smart contract template uh uh which is I've taken i p it pulled it from there so I'll just show you the source of it so near Foundation is a near smart contract rest template so I have uh pulled this out and then what I've done is I couldn't find any vulnerable smart contract so as a result what I I've created uh just to test the tool I've created stample vulnerable uh uh smart contracts uh which is basically vulnerable token vulnerable Vault and stuff like that so this is kind of how it looks and this is intentionally created as a vulnerable token so that I can test it which has in the withdraw function as reentrance vulnerability UNF check and all this stuff and uh then uh with this you run the tool so how you do run it you actually one option is you can actually go to the um you can just run it as a as a python script as of now so you can go there um and uh um it's actually as a python script so you can actually pass this as a python script like uh near uh contract scanner and uh and then you can pass the uh path of the project folder the project which you have created so this is the project which you have created so I'll just pass the pass the main uh folder so what essentially it will do first it will go look into your cargo file look into all all the kind of libraries independencies and then it will go to the source code it will recursively go through all the source codes you have created the rest file and it will pass them and it will scan them so essentially what will happen if you run this uh it is behind the scene it will run all the scanner and uh and it will consolidate and give you as a as a Json output uh in terms of summary it actually let's say found total of 1,700 uh finding with high medium severity now obviously this is a early version so there is a possibility of false positives which I'm actually kind of going to work and continuously improving but the idea is it actually give you in terms of a Json where it says what is the lack of Access Control what is the problem what file and what line number uh has the problem and yeah what is the root cause of it so as a command line tool you can use it this file also is stored uh as a Json file onto the folder so what I can do is once you run the tool you can actually go to the Json file you can look into it you can use it for forther prober analysis and passing as well so it P it stores the file of the file system and it gives you in the command line tool as well so uh so this is the first part which I have built and then um along with that obviously uh I'm the process of creating a a basic uh kind of uh utility where uh you can like a web web application so uh so essentially what you can do is there is you know if you if you're using this you actually can uh kind of upload the file here uh as a z file and uh the entire project here as a zip file and uh uh and then it should it should be able to actually scan and give your report now uh there is if you scan it it should actually generate a uh generate a report here uh like the same file it will give you as a JS and then on top of it there will be a dashboard which we're building right now so I've uh I build this as of now this is cod focusing on the engine and uh in terms of the uh uh kind of uh the output uh this is actually also uh kind of works as a dashboard so where uh uh um so so this is a very basic Dash okay sorry I think uh I'll just show you the sample file it generates essentially it will generate a dashboard which some statistics in C um I need to find out this is small issue but but essentially it will show you a statistics of how it is uh how this uh just give me a second but but yeah just give me a minute pleas and just find the very interesting meanwhile how do you decide or like how do you gather those uh vulnerabilities that you're scanning the code I assume that uh this is only for codes that we provide which is uncompiled and not for already compiled contracts correct this is a static code so actually uh this will this is work for static anal so it's uncompiled not for compiled ones yeah for how long have you been working on this project because it seems like a lot of work so uh this is actually so initially the journey is it was initially I've started building this as a uh as a boss scanner uh so I have created this as a visual studio plug-in um for boss and uh so okay I have to log in but then it's actually created this is a plugin where if you're creating a boss widget it can scan there behind the cnal call and API uh but obviously I think uh the boss is no longer functioning so we now moving it to the reer and rust and this is basically something um actual coding is happening uh for for for a couple of couple a couple of weeks I would say a month but I think the majority of the time was spent uh because to understand the rust format and I think lot of these kind of issues is there is no documentation available so I think you know it's been last two and half 3 months time I was actually trying to learn and understand what is the best possible way probably I can interpret and uh uh create this uh create this plug-in so overall it's more of like a uh yeah kind of uh couple of months is going on on this and this is the dashboard which is basically essentially it will give you kind of uh what kind of severity is there in terms of a basic chart and then BAS on the frequency analysis what the top vulnerabil found and some basic explanation and the idea of this uh dashboard would be is you know uh this is where we'll feed in an LM which is problem is first part is understand you know identifying the problem second is what to do after that so the idea here is not only the detection but once I have the detection I want to create a very play simple easy to understand U action plan a report kind of thing which explains for the developers not in Tech technical jargons but in a very simple English thing that what are the things you should do so that you can actually fix those BS so so first stage is detection and second stage would be like creating this kind of a Playbook or a action plan which is in a very simple English and with some sample code so that they can go and users can go and developers can go and they can fix it so so this is overall the pipeline I'm trying to build uh in a nutshell and as I said this is the first time I'm showing it in it's a very early developer so please excuse me if anything is uh not working but idea is I to develop and build this along with the community and seeking your support no it's amazing like there is in the world there is not enough security tools in general and the more we have uh the the better and this is a very well not only dangerous but important and very hard space that you're getting yourself into so I'm sure that uh all of us here and the community in general is welcoming and happy to see uh that you put your refer into it uh I believe that zit has a question if I'm correct yeah yeah yes um two things so the first thing is uh the boss is dead it's it's kind of a very early to say uh it might it will leave uh at least from okay good to know that second thing is uh uh I think you are doing a great job of like a starting early working with Community uh like a we like we always need security tool but the bigger challenge uh for me as a developer will be like a uh if I have thousand like a vulnerability and don't what to do so that's one problem uh right I I think you probably know about um Barb Suite so like yes yeah so like if you can create a very uh simple report uh and CLI everything is good but like a maybe I want to add that this kind of thing in a uh cic CD pipeline like a g actions that will be great and start with very like a maybe go to the um like a top 10 vulnerability or make a list of like a this vulnerability that people always make mistake and we can do yes so yes thank you so much so that's exactly the the idea we have so if you see the Mind M what I've done is this is actually even in the rest World there is not top 10 yet so I've been going and I saw something in PKA do something in substrate some people have trying to standardize what are the top 10 or major vulnerability and that is based on the impact as well as the occurrence frequency of occurrence So based on this I know these are the kind of list of potential know more prominent vulnerability that I could document and identify and the idea is actually let's rank them one by one and go deep di find create more kind of uh scanner identifier signals which can identify it in more efficient way um that's what I'm not doing and the other thing is as you as I said if you can see my screen cicd is definitely on my uh my pipeline which I want to do and visual studio code plugin these are the two things I want to do along with the ca uh but I think one challenge I'm facing and this is where I is a open request to everybody if anybody would because there is no not enough sample rust contract or like like solid this every contract I can go to a blockchain Explorer find all the contracts here I'm not able to find significant amount of contracts which has vulnerability or probably you know something reported which I can use to test this tool so I need more data items because eventually the idea is to create a probably AI model around that so if you guys anybody has any interest of doing an audit or something you would like to try it out I'm more than happy to leverage and work with you guys to do that so that's pretty much what I have thank you to hear more about it ofad I didn't spoil it you're muted yeah too too many spoilers right right there let's can can you stop sharing so I can take it from here great yeah a lot of dates actually uh so let's start with the biggest release that was cut recently that is nearest Decay uh for us that uh reached 5.2 release recently and they had a small uh patch right after that just for those who didn't uh um follow the RAS Decay for near and might not have heard about the 5.x release there were a lot of quality of life improvements with introduction of this nice small attribute macro that uh hides a lot of uh sterilization to calization details underneath so you don't need to um yeah just have so much border plate anymore in you code but uh with this release it was mostly focused on the performance and security aspects um so and compatibility so if you scroll down on the releases page you'll see that it's pretty long list of nice improvements let's focus on the most uh the on the highlights basically here today so the very first one and I think that's the most important one from the protocol perspective is the introduction of the the new yield uh execution host functions which you can learn about in this very nice um uh block post um and that one is being actively used for um AI story near AI um is dependent on such um functionality that you would like cost efficient way to wait until something some other event on chain so this is uh really nice uh check it out learn more in details uh from this article uh on the second highlight is the introduction of this new um collection for iterable map just as a reminder um in near you can use the standard collections for your smart contracts like uh hashmap hash set and stuff but if you want to have just one element at a time uh it's unwise to tore the whole collection hash set in a single key Value Store internal storage of the contract and and instead you want usually uh to store them separately so the key and value is stores just as a individual uh record inside the smart contract uh storage and then it's cost efficient to query just one element from it and uh when you want to have a collection that you can not only look up one value but also iterate over the values maybe take 10 of them or something like that you need some uh other primitive and um this was previously covered by unordered map uh and unordered set collections but we recently uncovered that there was a performance issue with the store version of onor map so the there are two type of collections the uh uh the collections near the collections which is the older one and have some um different differences with the interfaces with the standard rust Collections and then there was a new uh set of collections introduced later on which matches the standard rust um collections much better with respect to ownership rules of rust and uh when it comes to the iterable map and this is just an optimized collection that is exactly like a lockup map um but with the functionality to be able to efficiently iterate and uh you can obviously check if the collection has certain key or get the value and you can also iterate over it you can find all the details uh in docs so I encourage you to read this pre standard API reference uh documentation that is right there uh but you can expect basically replace uh lookup map with itable map um in your code and that will work with the with a note that you will need to make sure that if you if you previously deploy this contract then the internal storage would be different so you need to make sure that you're you have a migration or um redeploy the contract from scratch uh just give it uh to note on the other stuff um there are nice improvements for the uh ABI that is exposed from the contract side and also improvements uh to support NEP 360 uh 330 um with the support for built info field which is used for um reproducible builds uh metadata so basically when you built your contract um with carger tool soon not today but soon you will be able to then reproduce and build exactly the same smart contract uh from the source code uh and confirm that the source code is matching the the contract that is deployed on chain which was not the case before uh reproducible builds are pretty hard topic and rest um so there yeah and there are plenty of other uh small quality of life improvements for example documentation for in all various um uh attributes uh you can now find them in the docs if you go to uh here or like you could let's usually you want to search for it in it and now near D near in it will explain you what this init attribute would actually do uh so that's pretty cool moving on yeah just a reminder about the redacted uh conference um it was not planned but I had this tab open so here we go uh this year in Thailand Bangkok uh we'll have the cool near conference which I think will have a lot of uh developers uh join uh on the next uh next item on the list is near C IRS and uh there are there were quite a few additions recently they are mostly quality of life improvements around loading indicators and cutting the number of uh unnecessary dependencies and uh that is pretty cool actually so if you now go and open here uh go to account for example and I want to view some account information I'm opening my account on Main net and want to detail have details right now you can see this these nice loaders over there so you're not waiting for what who knows what and the cool part of it that we are also baconing a teach me mode inside the near CLI so it will not just you know show those loaders but you can add a flag that will show exactly what type of requests are going on so if you are a Dev that wants to know all the NRE details like how to reproduce this kind of behavior what information where we are getting all this information from you can just add a teach me flag and the near CI will be a guide for you um cool moving on tarer that's another CI that uh uh companies uh near SD KS to ease building um near smart contracts with ABI scheme enabled and soon with the um reproducible builds setup uh baked into and yeah in general simplifying the flow so let's check out the recent um release notes um mostly it was around the updates that I covered in near clrs just right now and uh a huge uh reduction in the UN like old dependencies that we managed to um um cut so it will be just faster to build at least and also hopefully safer in a sense cool it's that's cool to see that people are using car here that's definitely the tool that I can also recommend and the yeah and it's very simple to start to do car near New and again you just prompted your name full project and this is how you have a new contract uh and then carer build will just guide you through um so that's really cool then uh uh another tooling update on we have a lot by the way and the near workspaces is our end to end um um tool for end to end testing of near smart contracts and U it's super easy to uh set up your environment with um like with a local near note the full-blown near note R locally and then you feed it with the data with the with your smart contract and uh execute certain functions um on it confirming that the expected state is exactly what you want so it's really handy Tool uh to improve like to to to make sure that your contract is actually sane and secure I definitely recommend um this tool to everybody uh on that regard and the uh the main Change Main um and most awaited and blocking update was the um was due to the release of near 137 which forbidden um the creation of top level accounts without a nonre so on on behalf of like a random account on here so we had to update the dev deploy comand to work under the new requirements and this is fixed now no changes uh needed from your side you can safely upgrade to the near workspaces latest version it will be just using all the latest near core and all the latest features and yeah so there were just like uh a number of improvements on the dependency side we are cutting the number of dependencies to improve the compilation time for your contracts for tests and like in general and like improving the security less dependencies is uh smaller scope for potential bugs or security vulnerabilities um and near send boox is part of the uh near workspaces story which provides the local node um setup auto that is running as a like that you can execute as a code basically so check it out if you didn't hear about it it could be for some other applications on your site and it's available for R and JavaScript as basically libraries uh on top of near near core c c or demon service cool uh just the oh let's probably finish on the security side of things this is also pretty cool project that uh hacking team was building uh with the Grant from devhub uh it's a code coverage uh tooling that you can set up together with your uh smart contract on year now um and uh then capture basically your like whether your test are covering enough um with the yeah whether your test you is good enough uh in the sense of covering all the corner cases um yeah definitely check it out nice documentation um it just works one one line change plus you know one dependency uh really cool thing uh and just FYI there was a like experiment going on that I was talking in the chat in the tooling near tooling chat recently um of trying to make the API of um interacting like offchain interaction with near blockchain from rust and other languages as well more intuitive and easy um and as part of this effort uh we're experiment with this near API RS uh project which allow like follows the near C RS interface more or less uh or at least inspired from that and uh makes the the transaction creation and signing and sending to the relevant Network really easy um and it will be yeah we will push it Forward uh soon as possible uh but it's not released yet and uh last but not least uh this uh secret project that uh lill was already spoiling uh so much today uh race of sloth um that is uh that was a side project um and secret one um with very little affiliation with devhub initially but we want to support the whole near ecosystem and broader open source ecosystem with this project by introducing um G gamification process to the uh open source world where we build like we have a bot on GitHub that does not change the flow much for neither for contributors or nor for maintainers but it makes it so much fun uh to um uh to contribute going forward and you can start collecting your Sloss points and uh uh compete in a good way with the within the E system and beyond and um this is just uh our contribution back to the open source world where which we all benefit from building on top of the shoulders of those Giants and we want to grow the uh Community uh Beyond just web 3 we want to build more engagement into it so I definitely uh want to hear uh your contributions and uh um yeah check it out uh you can see the the source code right here we use um near to store the uh leaderboards and to uh apply the rules of the game basically the the bonus points on the contract side so you can build permissionless uh your own extensions and maybe provide your own leaderboard slice and dice it in a way that you like and just make it even more engaging as so that that was the idea behind using like blockchain in the first place uh so definitely um looking forward to to get this leaderboard filled with much more people than we currently have uh but it's only two days old uh so you're not late today uh to the party and this is how it works uh so this is the pull request and uh then well this is verel bot interacting this but then a race of SLS oh I forgot to mention I I a message race L right here and this is how it uh heard from us um it posted nice summary about my profile um and U encourages me to uh to keep going and uh yeah updates in our uh IDE and especially building the front end so now uh you can go and build a full fledge frontend using prompt and then deploy as a boss component so the whole website can be deployed as a boss component and inside the IDE we also kind of simplified the the mo the experience and then we added a feature for uh saving your assets so like a lot of time when we build um boss component we have CSS or images that we use and then the typical process was you will upload those things in ipfs somewhere and then get that link and uh kind of then use those in your component now you have a dedicated section where you can upload those CSS assets or image and then you can use in your component so it's more like a pinning service ipfs pinning service kind of thing uh so that will make uh development faster and and kind of life a little bit easier we are excited about this uh prom to um kind of a website builder uh it is as powerful as any other website builder using AI but also it can generate a full fled boss website and in one click you can deploy it in boss so I think boss is not dead so like um we're making it super easy for you want to build and deploy a boss component or app
