Welcome to our first town hall since uh near Apac since pretty much everyone's been having a crazy travel schedule. I think um at this point in time, most of you all are back at home. Hopefully, you're over the jet lag so far. I know a few people at NF are still um all over the place on the conference schedule spreading the word. I'm here. Um, but yeah, that being said, I think it was great seeing a lot of you in person uh at near APAC and we are ready to jump into our bi-weekly town hall schedule and I think we have some really exciting updates for all of you on exciting ecosystem projects on the NBC elections and a recap on um yeah the craziness of Mary Pack and the three blockers. Hello everyone. So today we have small introduction from Near Week um quickly just going to run through the program some presented by David. Then we're going to have some ecosystem highlights. We're going to have Shard Dog in here. We're going to have Tenement. We're going to have Fractal. Then we have a brief outline of the Korea blockchain week from Scott and the near Korea team. Jack and Martin will walk us through Neiaon. We need to pump that stuff soon, get people super excited about that. And then um to end it all off, we have an election special where Blaze will walk us through some indie stuff. And we have a special guest, our very own um stats. Maestro DJ Peron from Pikes Peak will take us through some of the most interesting um highlights from the current election. And remember everyone, remember to vote by Friday. Remember to vote by Friday. So if you can hand it over to the next slide, David, that's just like if you can if you can leave this QR code on just for a few sec. Just want to let everyone know if you aren't already subscribed to the official NE Protocol newsletter. Simply scan this QR code and claim the latest edition. All powered by Shard Dog. Want to give a want to give a hand to Shard Dog. Been doing amazing lately. um such a great team. Thank you very much Jared and Joe for all the work you're putting in uh every day. We're super excited to have you in this ecosystem. Keep building, keep pushing. Thank you very much. So, um yeah, subscribe, get your news every week. Over to you, David. Amazing, Peter. Thank you so much. All right, so high level Q3 OKRs. We're just about finished up with the quarter. So the north star that we had of two million, we are currently blowing it out of the water. We are currently at 2.8 million masa as of today, closing in on 3 million uh by the end of this month. And then going to some of these more detailed OKRs. So near is the blockchain operating system. In terms of growing devs, uh we will we will have our measurement in the coming weeks from electric capital with their latest developer report. uh share a voice um has has been kind of dropping steadily and closer to 7% um which has been around this level for the past couple of weeks. Um making the econ uh we are on pace for sponsorship sales which is great to see and we need to start pushing more and more on tickets and you'll hear more from from Jack and team uh later today. And then boss positioning v2 that is in progress in terms of near is a a thriving decentralized ecosystem. Lot of green here. Uh so the NDC um we'll hear more about that from from Blaze and others. Uh the elections are happening now and as Peter mentioned vote by Friday. Um Horizon. So the first cohort of Horizon kicked off uh this week on Monday. So amazing to see that that going live and there will will definitely be a lot more to come in the coming weeks uh from that uh building out the near ecosystem model that is in progress as well and I will share a couple a couple slides uh of near atlas which is showing more and more amazing data for the ecosystem. Updating near tokconomics likely will not be ready in Q3. And in terms of regulatory and policy advocacy, we did join the CCI this quarter with an announcement. Um, but we don't have the the thought leadership published just yet. And then near is where web 2 goes to become web 3. Refining the core use case that is in progress landing 15 of the BD deals from this year onto mainet. We are at 16 this quarter. So we beat that goal. And then projects onboarded onto Horizon. The goal was 300 and we are currently at 251. Now just going into some of the metrics from Near Atlas. We are now just at 30 million accounts created on Near. There's been a massive jump uh in the past month or so because of Cosmos. So amazing to see that. In terms of monthly active accounts, we are just at 2.8 million. Again, a massive jump in the past month from Cosmos going from around a million, which we've been pretty steadily at for a while, up to yeah, up to close to three million now. In terms of daily active users, and this is a comparison uh showing Near versus a handful of other uh blockchains, we've been consistently at around 700,000 or so daily active users going back to the beginning of this month. um which is quite a bit higher than mostly all of our uh uh peers. There was one spike on Ethereum here, but for the most part, we've been consistently above all of these all of these chains. Uh quite a bit higher than them, and a lot of that is thanks to Kai Ching, which is Cosmos AI's product. Uh their retention rates are extremely strong. So, we have a few cohorts now going back to the end of August. Um, and we're seeing consistently over 70% week-toeek retention for these users. And on a daily basis, this is close to 40%. Which is essentially saying that 40% of these Kai Chain users are are are interacting with Near every single day, which is unbelievable uh to see. Cool. And with that, Clemens, back over to you for the ecosystem spotlights. Yes, we have some very exciting projects coming up. um starting with Shard Dog which was really I think one of the highlights of the near AP pack. So Shard Dog in conjunction with El Cafe Cartel um was working tirelessly in serving over 1500 coffees to um these of APAC and onboarded the same amount of people to so yeah please welcome the team at Shardock and um looking forward to hear more about it. Awesome. Uh hi everyone. I'm Jared. I'm the co-founder of Shard Dog. And I'm Joe. I'm the other co co-founder. Uh Shardog is a web3 marketing platform. It is the easiest and fastest way to onboard someone to your project and onto Near. Uh so far we've had over 200 Shard Dog links so far. Uh which has led to over 3,700 brand new named wallets and we're actually closing in now on uh 19,000 claims. Uh so since this slide was made a couple days ago uh we continue to really have strong growth. Next slide. And uh so that 200 plus shard dog links I think that's the thing that to focus on because shard dog all starts with that link. And real quickly what is that link? It's basically like uh a thing that has a gate, a claim, and a handoff. Right? That's the three parts of every Shard dog link. And think about it like a Chipotle menu. You get to pick something from the gate, something from the claim and something from the handoff and it's really versatile and you can do stuff with like for nearw week has a email subscription beforehand. Uh cafe cartel had some things uh that would go to the boss at the end right or or there's so many different ways to do it and we're constantly exploring new ways and it's uh we we we appreciate the challenge too and Joe next one. Yeah. So, uh, these are just some of the many use cases that we've had so far. Uh, and we're really excited about people continuing to innovate with us as we build in public. Um, Clement did a nice job of explaining what we did with C cafe cartel. Uh, whether it's an activation in person or whether it's something like nearw week where we power their email subscription and allow their collectibles uh, each week. And as you go through the different uh use cases here, you can start to see the same kind of theme where as Cher just showed, it goes through a process of, you know, some kind of gate and claim, but the possibilities are endless. Whether it's our own comic that we've been dropping daily uh that actually it's a different panel every day and you can collect the whole comic over time or whether it's just something as proof of voting to the NDC. And so we've been able to find a way that uh no matter what your project is, uh Shardog can help accelerate that process. Uh as we said, we've had over 200 Shardog links so far, and this is just kind of a snapshot of some of the different ones that are in there. And you can see from individual creators all the way through uh large projects, uh there's something for everybody. And I just really like things in grids. Like I think NFTTS and grids is visually pleasing. And so where's Shard Dog going? Right? I think this is like okay so the Shard Dog link, but what does that mean? So that in itself is really cool. So then we're we're focusing on the dog part, right? And that is going to be a place for users and creators to engage. And what does that look like? We we've done a lot of feedback with people like what do you even want to do? What would be helpful? So uh one of the things is uh Joe's updated the Shard Dog link to V3, right? That'll be released soon. We're just doing some final UX UI stuff which has a cleaner onboarding and it's just smoother, better bot protection. All that stuff is just being elevated. And then for creators, we are expanding a lot a selfservice portal which I think nearwe or a lot of projects who understand that you get one link and you can constantly keep updating it with different activations, right? Like think of it like your own sort of channel, right? Like oh I want a different link. I want a different uh NFT. You could do that almost you could change it as much as you want in the future. a metrics dashboard, but that is more of almost like an engagement dashboard. Like now you've got all these people, you're building your Shard Dog list. What do you do? I mean, that's that we're really working on that as well. And once those things all come together, there's a lot of boss that uh and Joe's been very vocal on that boss. He's he's leveraging that as much as he possibly can as well. So that's sort of where we're going in the future. And on this last slide, just claim your proof of presentation if you would like. You know what I mean? like it's a shard dog link, claim it. It's a it's a a grid of NFTTS. So, thank you all. That's the Shard Dog quick, you know, quick five minutes. Thank you for having us. Yeah, thank you. Amazing. Thanks so much for this. And I think, you know, just to highlight like how much work, you know, the team has been putting into this while, you know, near APEC was going on while um El Copy Cartel was onboarding hundreds of new users a day. um the startup team actually got up and worked through the night to implement new fixes to ensure even smoother experience on the next day. So I think that was really really cool to see um really the energy being thrown behind this. Um so yeah, keep it up guys. Next up we have another very exciting project from Canada. Um we have Tenement. So we have um Sal and Nadir to present um essentially a digital collectible and physical space where you can um basically I think the best way to describe it um I'll leave for for that I'll leave it up to the team actually. Hey guys, thanks so much for having me. Um uh really exciting excited to be here uh in front of you guys today. Love to tell you a bit about tenement. First of all, my name is Nad Chadri. I'm the found co-founder of Tenement alongside my brother Sal um who's currently not on this call because he's uh we're a part of Near Horizon, which is uh which is u you know a great honor to be a part of but you know we're double double booked so that's why he's not here but uh yeah great to talk to you guys about Tenement. So what we're trying to do is we're we're trying to like it says revolutionize collectibles with file assets defi and gamefi. Well, we what we mean by physical is we take real life um trading cards. Uh some of you guys may collect them, you know, and they come in the form of sports cards or Pokemon cards or other things like that. And oftentimes they're worth a lot of money, right? And we put them on chain, we fractionalize them, and then we create an opportunity for people to play with them and also earn from them. Next slide, please. So, um, you know, we're we're we're we're trans we're transcending the physical boundaries and united uniting fans across the globe. We're we're right now focusing very much on the sports um scene and we've created a vibrant decentralized marketplace where fans can collect, play, and earn like never before. Next slide, please. Um, so real quick, trading cards, why? Um, they're first of all, what are they? their their collectible items that feature athletes or comic book um people. It's a really old hobby goes back 100 years or so. Uh it's got a huge uh passion community um and and and like the NFT world, you know, um you have scarcity, uniqueness, it drives demand um and can make cards highly soughta and so they have become an alternative asset class. Cards regularly go for millions of dollars. Um and it's projected this market is actually going to increase to $200 billion by 20232 which which is huge. Next slide please. So um where we think we can help also achieve near's goal is is uh of bringing a billion um users to the blockchain is by tapping into the sports fans around the world. And it starts with getting the people who actually collect the cards. And so instead of going on eBay, they'll come to us, they'll list their card, a physical card, right? They they want to sell a real physical card and we'll we'll we'll we'll list it for them or a marketplace, right? Uh when we when we take possession of it, we'll put it in a vault and then we'll turn it into an NFT uh and then fractionalize it. And now once it's on the marketplace, every time that fractional token gets traded, the original listister actually gets a percentage of each transaction. And so it allows an opportunity for people around the world to actually earn from uh their their colle collection which is not actually possible um you know in in in the real world you can't earn cash flow unless you actually sell your card and that would be a you know an asset in a sense. So uh the rewards are paid out in a staking mechanism using the tenement token and they can be eventually converted into cash and withdrawn. Next slide please. Um so here's our product right so it gives you an idea of what we're trying to do here. We uh take this physical card and we fractionalize it. People are able to buy, sell, and trade these fractional digital tokens and uh and and and and they can do so on on the marketplace that exists. You guys can check out the website tenement.com. Next slide, please. Uh the card journey looks like this. Uh the physical card gets registered on tenement. It gets sent to a vault. it gets appraised um and and validated and it must be graded then we drop it um it's tokenize at this point and people can buy it on the drop right once they buy it they have um ability for for voting they can tap into the token gated community and uh and and generate those rewards um and access to real life events. You know, we want to enable them to actually go and meet their favorite athlete. We want to bring the athlete in on the who whose card it is in on this as well, right? So, it's a real opportunity to actually increase that community and it solves a problem not only for the people who listen to cards, but also the teams themselves, the players themselves who want to connect with the fans and of course the fans who um want to take their fandom to the next level. Next slide, please. Uh here's what our our our dashboard looks like. You can manage your portfolio. You can track performance. You can earn rewards. you can engage in community governance and shape the platform's future. Um, and so, you know, the idea is that if you want to see a feature added, you know, we we we'll take it to the community, do a do a vote and make it happen. Next slide, please. So, it gets really exciting excited where we're going next. We're going to come out with a game now. Um we're we're very close to this now where if you guys are familiar with fantasy sports um you can go and create a lineup on you know there's a game tonight that you want to that you want to watch um you know a series of games you can pick your team that you think is going to do the best in real life and earn points on them. Now, if you want to actually boost your chance of not not only um of winning, but actually your reward, which would be a tenement token, you can go to the marketplace and you can borrow or buy those card tokens that we talked about earlier. So, it's really bringing it all together as a uh as as an ecosystem, if you will. We're going to introduce different kinds of sports. You know, we're starting very much focused on American sports. Uh right now we have basketball, football, baseball. Uh but we definitely want to move towards international sports, soccer of course, Formula 1 and UFC, tennis which happen every you know bi-weekly to monthly tournaments. Uh we're currently in the near horizon program which we're very you know proud of that and uh looking forward to get getting out to Portugal hopefully meeting a bunch of you guys at Nearcon. And we've got some big partnerships brewing right now too. Um we can't really talk about them just yet but they're they're huge. We're really excited about them. Um, and I think they're going to really take us um to a a big to scale really fast now, take us to a big international stage. So, look out for that. Next slide, please. And so, I'll conclude it by saying, you know, we're at the intersection of collecting, playing, earning, and culture. Um, you can come to our platform because you want to, you know, have an opportunity to increase your portfolio. you know NFT collectors will understand this you know and they can trade it for you know sell it for a profit or hold it for you know huddle for a while but on other hand if you want to engage a little bit more you want to play as well you can do that on our platform too and we bring it all together so no matter where you are in the world I'm talking to you guys from Toronto but if you're in the Philippines or you're in Kenya or you're in New York City it doesn't matter you have an opportunity to connect with other fans and actually earn from your fandom appreciate guys thank you so Thanks so much Nadir for for showing us. Um yeah, I'm really looking forward to seeing where you guys will be at the end of the prize cohort. Um next up, please welcome Julian from Fractal. Um this is a deal that's been led by Harshet Emmer team. So on to you Julian. Uh so um hi everyone. I'm Julian, co-founder at Fractal. Um and I've got a completely different topic for you guys which is identity and infrastructure and I'm pretty proud to um yeah talk about the IDOS um and um very curious to hear your feedback because that's something that we've been working on uh with a core team um from Pagod to um enable identity on uh the Bos. Uh next slide please. Uh so what is the IDOS? It's the identity operating system. It's a decentralized self-s sovereign crosschain and compliant identity layer. Um has two components. It has the component of the decentralized storage of nodes that is the uh storing storage part that enables um everyone to store data in a decentralized way. uh and the access management protocol which puts the user in control of um allowing who should have access to your personal data and um who shouldn't. Uh you might have already seen us in the ecosystem for the proof of lifeness um at NDC. Um that is um Fractal the service company because we also saw that uh you know we need to not just have an infrastructure layer but also provide services uh that allow people to to onboard and that can be proof of personal but also all the way to the KYC AML regulated use cases. As a matter of fact um we we also already self-obligated entities which can be quite cool. Um because onboarding literally looks like a message signing process and that's it. So imagine not having to go through all of that hassle again, but just give someone else access to your data by signing a message. So I've talked a lot. Let's um jump right in. How's it going to look like? Um if you go to your profile settings, uh what you will soon see is an identity and data privacy page where um you can add a credential. So this can be a proof of personhood or a KYC credential. You then sign a message that initializes your uh IDOS, meaning this is going to be uh your own IDOS profile kind of like your data vault that uh that only you have access to. Um you then need to put something in that data vault, right? Like in that profile. uh in the beginning it will only be fractal that's available for the verification process but it can be any any type right uh and we also highly encourage others to join in to um that that provide identity services to do so you then go through the process you guys might have already seen it u maybe you already have a KYC uh with with Fractal which will be a lot easier than to also bring into the IDS uh and it will right there um tied to your um address but not revealed you know. So um what can how can this be helpful? First of all this going to be a primitive uh on near that you can use to build upon um to improve uh to come up with new use cases. And this is what we want to get out here in in this call. Uh an invitation to um collaborate and to um yeah really use it. Uh so the things that we thought might be interesting is if you are um in the DeFi realm and you want to have on and off boarding that is as simple as um a message signing process or you want to prevent bots from getting incentives um and you want to make sure that users are real humans um this is what it can be used for. Um, if you want to build tooling around it, like an analytics tool, you want to enable deb builders to see who their audience is, um, it's a fully composable stack. It's permissionless. You don't need to ask us. You just build it and um, you can increase the security or convenience of the whole process. As a user, I'm personally actually really excited because um it's like it's decentralized identity. We've been talking about it for four years. NIA is the first to really implement it to make it available throughout the ecosystem and that allows to unlock use cases that I think we haven't even been thinking about. So yeah, pretty excited about it. We will launch uh at Nearcon with actual uh deps. Um we will have the whole thing live uh mid of October already. Um this is already in testing and works. Uh if you are one of these DAPs that want to be um part of the first batch, please reach out. Thanks so much. Oh, there is one next slide and uh we also have Marco and Peter here on the call. Uh so if you want to get in touch uh please scan one of these QR codes or if you want to learn more. Thanks. Wow, that's awesome. I'm really looking forward to yeah all those new use cases um being unlocked by the tech stack because like you said proof of personhood I think is one of the biggest blockers um for so many interesting use cases of crypto that just get ruined by bots because you're not able to verify that these people trying to claim tokens are one person just bought army of thousand um yeah I would say we're we're moving on to the review of the Korea blockchain 203 Great. Hello everyone. This is Scott from here Korea hub. Um I know many of you guys here uh started Asian tour uh starting from KBW uh in Korea. I just wanted to go quickly uh highlight and then wrap up some of the recaps that we've done uh as a near foundation near community ecosystem. So um there I think there are seven sort of aspects that we we've done uh during the KBW. So we did a lot of B2B B2G meetings, activations and with the partnerships and we are the only mainet that has secured two keynote speakers which is Mic and Ilia and we had a one of the official side event um that was you know targeted for uh mass public general public during the day and VIP night is more of a private event during uh during the night and then we done more than like five interviews uh a lot of PRs and and we we did um put a lot of efforts onto the marketing. So uh moving next um so we we had a meeting with the 19 uh companies and local government. So uh this is significant because I think it's first time uh any of the mainet L1's is partnering with the so metronolitan dongde district and then they're actually giving us local tax uh exemption and then they're actually providing with some of the co-working spaces and then we actually co-hosting hackathons starting from October. So this is very meaningful because Dongdeun um district is very known for their uh DDP. they have a lot of the universities and it's very active part of the sol city. So we're glad to have a uh this P2G activation partnership and also we had a partner with SKC which is like the uh IT uh group of SK uh which is second biggest congre in Korea and so this was you know done uh during the KVW and um yeah um during the KVW u we actually had a lot of people you know visiting our booths uh we did give out a lot of goods and then people actually we were actually focusing on or promoting boss and fast toss at our booth. I think more than like couple thousand people uh came by uh and then I think it was a great impact great turnout and uh uh we made sure Marik and Ilia was a keynote speaker uh from representing near and moving on um we had a one of the official side event you know co-hosted by uh hasht our investor and the fact which is the organizer uh for KVW. So during the day uh starting from 12 to 5ish uh 6ish we had more than 900 people signed up and uh we wanted to make sure that people are you know just general public kind of experience what the web 3 is. uh they that we wanted to you know kind of uh take through them through web3 experience and we actually used the techno which is developed by the near balcons you know thanks to balcons and then uh I think 410 NFTs minted uh using techno on the near so uh it was a great turnout there was a a raffles give out giveaways um it was announced and they actually claimed their shoes and during the night uh it was more focused on the uh more of a private event. So it was a great turnout. I think more than uh 600 people came out and then uh we only invited all the senior levels u from each company. So uh it was great to note that hasht and backb block uh the the sea levels actually uh came to our event to give opening marks which is shows our strong bond with these partners and u mur actually did more than five interviews um and then it was very uh picked up um a lot and um um it was meaningful because it was Marik's first time visiting Korea and she made sure that you know near what Near is trying to do and how she values the Korean market, you know, very importantly. And so some of the marketing outputs that we did, um I think uh we have more than 150 media coverage and 165,000 views on the social media and through this partnership announcement uh some of theou side. I think we uh we did make sure that the brand awareness in Korea was was really leveled up. So I think it was a great turnout. Uh thanks to everyone who participated our event and uh KW um was we could do it because of your support and help. So we wish to continue to do do it uh next year. So I'll leave it um I'll end up my present presentation with my short video clip. I'm scared of scared of scared of Amazing. Thank you, Scott. Uh Jack, over to you. Thanks, David. Um as someone who attended the uh the career event, I just want to give a shout out to Scott and team. I thought it was absolutely amazing. Uh both the actual activation of career blockchain week, but also the side events and everything around it. So very well done. Um I'm just going to give a quick introduction into Nikon. If you can hit the next slide, ddubs. Okay. So I'm sure everyone who came to Nikon last year would agree. Um it was by far the event of the year. People who didn't uh turn up um definitely had FOMO after the event. Um and it was definitely an event to remember. What I can tell you this year is NICON 2023 is going to be bigger and better than ever. Um and uh we're just going to do a a real quick overview. We're going to do um a bit more of a deep dive into it in the next town hall. Um but um what we really are trying to rally uh people around today is if you have not got your ticket for Neon this year, I heavily heavily recommend that you buy your ticket today or in the next couple of days. It is going to be amazing. Um if you hit the next slide please, David. It's going to be like I said bigger and better than ever. We're across four days. We're back in Lisbon from the 7th to the 10th of November. Uh we're across three venues. We can't fit everybody that we're going to have in one venue anymore. The the warehouse that we had last year has been demolished. Um and we literally can't fit um enough people in. So, we've had to get three venues. They're very close to one another. Um one is going to be used for a massive hackathon and the other for the main event. Uh and we also have one under the main event uh for for more of the sort of side events that are going on. Uh we have two very large parties, one at the welcome event, but also uh the closing event as well. Anyone that went to the closing event last year, I'm sure, would agree, was was was a wild night. Um and like I said, we've got the weekl long hackathon on as well. It is the perfect time for you guys to hear from notable speakers. We've got some A-list A-list speakers coming to Nearcon this year as if we couldn't get any better than last year. Um you've obviously heard from Fractal and Tenement who will be at the event as well. Uh so you'll meet get to meet uh many of your favorite projects. It's a perfect chance to uh get inspired and and connect with projects, speakers, community members, and other enthusiasts um and hang with all the folks from all over the world. Um and so if you haven't got your tickets um please go to nicon.org um to to do that now. Um but what we do need from everyone on this call is your help in getting the word out about Nicon 2023 this year. Um, and so I'm gonna hand over to my colleague Martin who is going to uh give you some tidbits on how you guys can do your bit to help get the word out. So over to you Martin. Thank you very much. And um, nice to see you all. For those of you that haven't met me before, I will be at Neon. Obviously, I've been locked away in a cupboard by Jack for six months, but he's kindly let me out to uh to feature for a few moments just to talk about Neon. Um, as you probably know, uh, until you've actually participated in Nearcon, you're not allowed to leave your room until you've sold a thousand tickets. So that's why I'm here today to ask for your help. Um as Jack was just talking about, um we really would like to make sure that we get ecosystem participation. I think anyone that scrolls on Twitter feeds and so on will see this not just from um from near and from uh but from other L1's and from web 3. It's all about uh your view, your participation, your angle on things. And that's where we think it's going to be really powerful to have everyone within the community talking about it through their own perspective. Um there's two reasons for that. Firstly, it generates a lot of a lot more reach. And secondly, we want to get tickets sold. And one of the best ways to do that is actually get different perspectives talking about things from different angles. So, if I could ask Lord Weinstein or whoever's controlling this to go to the next uh slide. Thank you so much. Uh very heavy on text, but it's really just for those of you that don't like listening to British English and you put me on mute. I'm just going to articulate this. So, save your eyes if you're worried about it. But let's just explain why we we're asking for people to give their own viewpoint on Neopon and and why they're going or or why it's special and why it's interesting. You guys probably all know that um and this might shock some people, believe it or not. Um the founders of Facebook and Twitter and other platforms like Google, they don't do it as a charity. They do ask for money for things to be amplified and it can be rather expensive. So we will do our job in foundation marketing team. Uh but we want to spend that money wisely. So we will make sexy videos. We'll have um images of me and Jack and David Morrison running naked to Lisbon. We'll do all of those things, we'll get some nice content out there. But if we just rely on the kind of let's call it first person content from us as a foundation, that will only really reverberate into our echo chamber unless we pay significant funds and then it's very very expensive to to go beyond that. If you guys are all contributing your own view, that completely changes because the way the algorithms work is it has so much more reach and cut through and it becomes more relevant for um for different people from from different sections of the ecosystem or people that are yet to join the ecosystem. Um and so let me just give a couple examples of what we're asking here and then I'll qualify that as well. We would love you to use the nearon23 hashtag when you're you're tagging things. Use the platforms that you like and that you care about. They might be an obscure one. Hopefully, it'll be something like Neia Social or Twitter or LinkedIn or Instagram or whatever floats your boat. It doesn't really matter because it's about you reaching out your to your community and and your contacts with that could be a video, could be a photograph of you, it could be the project you're working on, it could be a blog post or a Medium post, it could be something you put on near social or Twitter. And what we're thinking about, and this is just a suggestion, by the way, it could be anything. And we'll give a couple of examples in a minute. Um, but really a personal view on something to do with web 3 or to do with NIA or to do with Neon specifically. I think that that will be the thing that's most authentic. That's why we're not telling all of you, please post this picture and and reshare it because that will not really get a lot of cut through. Something that makes uh a difference to you about web 3 would be great. If it's possible for you to tie it into the work you do, well, I think that that's great. Um, and then if you're able to tag, for example, depending on the platform, uh, hashtagneon23 or or near protocol or share a link of of the the landing page, Olga, uh, earlier on in the chat today, just put the the landing page for the tickets. That would be a really great thing to do. David Morrison will be looking 24 hours a day, getting his family members to be searching uh, religiously on every single social network and then we'll amplify them, like them um, and share them out. Now, I know some of you might be think if we could just kindly go to the next slide, Mr. Weinstein or who or whoever's doing it. Here's a few examples and we'll press pray on this video. A really important thing to say is some of you might be sitting there thinking, let's just leave this to the marketeteers. Um I don't have any anything interesting to say and I'm just going to pick out a few people that I happen to see um were appearing in this uh in this call today. You know, Alan Tutard, I've read some of his um his blog or Medium posts. They're really interesting. He's got a really good technical knowledge. He could write something and I would want to read that. Or you could write it in Turkish and I wouldn't be able to read it but I'm sure it'd be bloody interesting. Uh Peter week um something that you could do Philip and from the Balkans presumably you can speak now Moly Bas you know there's an opportunity for you guys to actually put content on there maybe 10 people will come from from Zadar or from Novisad um that's something that' be great know Chem Arpina Franker you guys are working in the most batshit crazy category in the world I would love to hear from Chem. What is it like to hire and manage teams within a web 3 environment? How is that interesting? Come and talk to me about it at u at Neon. That's relevant and interesting as well. Josh Board, my developer brother from another mother. You've told me frankly, openly perhaps sometimes when you've been on some kind of intoxicated beverage, how much you hate marketeteers quite rightly. I fully understand it. I would hate myself as well. But you and Tiffany, you speak beautifully and eloquently about developers and about what's relevant. Let's make this a non-marketing marketing campaign. Let's talk to developers in a way developers want to be heard and actually give them your viewpoint. You know, why is it it's not about marketing? It's about developers going there celebrating, getting together, talking about stuff. Uh, you know, Charles Garrett, I've learned more from you about bloody attribution and links and stuff like that than than I knew for the 20 years before. So, you know, it would be great to hear from you on these things. There's people like uh Maria Yarodska Ayong, Mr. Zavarshinski. He's told me I'm not allowed to call him Maxim till I've been here for one year. So, Mr. Zavashinsky as well, you guys are so passionate. You've had one-on-one calls with me talking about like that that next level of devs that coming through the pipeline, what the challenges, what are the opportunities. This is a great opportunity for you to uh to talk about that and and to to to mention it. And then we've got people like, you know, Sam Wang. Sanine, you could talk about your love of fish and how it relates to web 3 or how partnerships is like fishing for your I don't can't remember what they call carp or whatever you used to have before um Robbie and others made you work so many hours or you know Lelay and Alex you killing it out there getting different partners that's really really interesting you know tag those people get the extra reach Michael Coburn you're not just a sexy man in a hat you know isn't it interesting to talk about how difficult it is for hackers to nail us down because we do X Y and Zed what's it like to work in web 3. Why don't you come to Nearon if you're in the information security area and learn more? There's so many different relevant things. Corwin has been here for 7,000 years. He actually was here before Ilia was born. I don't know how that's possible, but it was. He could talk about, you know, building infrastructure, landing pages, getting devs in the relevant environment. David Norris, he could actually be at Crystal Palace. He's a season ticket holder photograph of himself as a selfie saying, \"This is an amazing crowd, but it's nothing like #neon23 is going to be. Come and join me, you know.\" Yes, in can talk about how he's going to make David redundant because he's at Crystal Palace game instead of doing his work. That's absolutely fine. Tie it back to Neon 23. You know, Bianca, God knows how this woman writes legal contracts, but somehow she puts it together. How is that difficult? How is it important? How does it work? Come and talk to her at Neon 23 to find more. You know, and Eric, the um psychologist from god knows where, who may or may not really be French. He may just be an elaborate accent. He's actually from Houston or something. I would love to hear something about his perspective on this. You know what what does he uh his view on this having spoken and worked with eight million people in web 3. This is my learnings and why I think you should come to Neon. We can all say something that's relevant and interesting. That's my main point. And nobody is more special or more more intelligent uh than than anyone else. The content and yours, the view is yours. Tie it back to the econom 23. And my challenge to all of you is if not you who and if not us, you know, who's who's going to do this? if we're not generating that excitement, then nobody else is going to do it for us as well. And so, a couple of examples on the screen on the left, there's an extremely attractive man. Um, he isn't a paid model. He actually works in the organization. You may not have heard of him before. He's called David Morrison. He's a young kid just coming up through the the block in the marketing team. Uh, he made a very funny video. I'm not very funny. I'm very, very boring. And so, I made a near social post, which I also made into a LinkedIn post because I'm too old and boring to have Instagram. It doesn't really matter. It will reach. I just looked. I had like 3,000 people look at the uh the thing I put on LinkedIn. Well, maybe two and a half thousand of those people never knew about me before. Maybe three of them will come to the event. That to me is a success. If we all do that, if we all get three or four people, suddenly we're widening that ecosystem for the better. So, Mr. We perhaps you could kindly press the um the video of Mr. Morrison if it works with audio. Oops, it's gone. Oh, no. Sorry. This isn't Mr. um this isn't Mr. Morrison. This is the last one as well. But anyway, so um this is we made also a sexy video. I sent it out to many people in the marketing nodes. Um and you can take this video, you can share it. It's on YouTube if you we posted it in the Slack channels. You can actually upload it as primary content. You can take elements of it. You can do what you want. You could just share the YouTube video, whatever you like. The main point is there's going to be content like this from the marketing team. It will get interest. It will get topline awareness, but it won't be personal. It won't be a personal view. If we want to try to make an ecosystem of a thousand and1 opinions with a million and one different perspectives, it's also on your shoulders, not just ours. So, thank you so much and uh please kindly get involved. Thank you. This was motivating and I don't know what what what is. That was intense and amazing. Really, thanks for that. Um next up, we have um the election special. So I mean I think this is one of the most exciting experiments going on in web 3 right now and I'd love to hear all of how it's going, what the progress is and where we stand right now with the election. Yeah, thank you. Hi everyone. Uh DJ speaking here, the co-founder of Pikespeak uh which is a data and analytics solution uh built on top of Near. Um so yeah, as you said guys, two days to vote before the end of the election. So please vote vote and vote. Um so on the data side I think the idea here is to provide everyone like an overview of what's happening in real time uh with the election. So next slide please. So so far we have had 600 plus uh voters as you know one voter can cast one too many votes uh because there are like many candidates per house. So we have approximately 11,000 votes and uh almost a 20% uh turnout. Um the other thing just before diving into uh some metrics and analytics that you can check in real time on Pikespeak. Uh next slide please. um and is something I would like to emphasize is that we are actually witnessing the inherent uh feature of onchain voting which is transparency. So people basically see what's happening uh you know challenge um in real time uh the outcome of the election. They also engage in across different uh social media channels such as you know bus Twitter and telegram. They analyze you know the data. They engage uh with uh NDC and the community. New people also take advantage of the event to have a better understanding of you know governance onchain governance and voting mechanisms for example. So I think it's also uh from my perspective and personal experience uh it's fantastic to witness um all those stuff. So now what can you see on Pikespeak u relating to the election? So next slide please. Uh so the first thing is obviously you know the leaderboard what's happening who is leading um you know in the house of merits council of advisors and um um council of transparency right so what you can see is the ranking in real time uh the number of votes per candidate and then on the right screen if you click on a candidate then you can see the breakdown of all the votes this candidate got Right. Obviously because this dashboard is uh available um in the well main solution. If you want to dig in and see well what is this wallet then you basically can explore uh the story you know of this wallet uh the balances for example and and maybe and many other stuff. So many data points uh per um near address. Then next slide please. What you can also see is basically um the list of all the voters and here you will see the breakdown of uh the different votes for this specific voter right so this is an example we see that this voter has voted for you know these different candidates for the house of merits etc. Uh next slide please. Another very uh useful tool is um what we call butt time series. And what you can see for every house is well the bot time series. And and you can see the evolution for every candidate which can be very useful because you can uh see for example cluster when when there's uh when a candidate is having you know a momentum for example and you can track um everything is in real time. Next slide please. And then you have some yeah you you have some data points around the voting days. So for example, how many voters have bonded 300 near or three near? You can see also that actually OG's are yeah almost um um like 40 yeah 42% of the voting base at the moment and we also have some data around uh the IMU on boarding competition. So next next slide please. And what you can what what what you can see here is basically that we we have like a a new wave of potential voters coming uh because when we have a look at those on boarding campaigns we see that um we have you know out of for example taking Aurora we still have yeah uh almost 70% uh voters potentially. So anyway, you you can have uh you can see that and and dig in um on the platform directly. Uh next slide please. And also if you really want to and that's great because the community is very involved and looking at you know the data also if there is you know any potential collusion around the election you can also we have the tool and you can use those tools to leverage uh you know I am human to imum connections on chain. So basically what you can see is um I am human financial connections um and you can also see the for example if a specific address has created I don't know 10 different addresses and they are all I am human and they have the same voting pattern for example that's something we will be interested inter interested at you know in looking at uh after the election and then next slide this is also like the IM human um mint timeline. Uh so there's no data between July and August, but that's because the contract was uh posed. So that's normal. But you can see here like activity minting activity of the I am human soulbound token and you have like many data points uh available through the dashboard and also uh via the API. So anyone can uh use that. And uh next please and yep if you haven't uh signed up yet uh well it's free. So as I said you can track the election in real time use the API if you want to build you know specific dashboards on bus for example and we have actually great community dashboards uh built on bus. So yep just sign up and see what's happening in real time. Thank you guys. Great. Hey, thank you D. It's been good to see all of that data out there uh provided by Pikes Peak working with the community, answering questions, putting new gauges up constantly. It's been very exciting. So, obviously voting is live, so we're excited about this. Our first inaugural election for the near ecosystem, so voter turnout has been even beyond what we expected. So that's a good that's good news. And it does seem like there is going to be a lastm minute rally of voters potentially as well. So it'll be exciting to see how this election finishes. So I thought I'd give a couple updates on what happens post election here. So we'll hit the next slide. So what's the NDC about? It's really about community power governance to grow and decentralize uh the near ecosystem. That really means there's three main pillars. uh governance, which is what we're establishing with this election. 29 seats of elected representatives that represent the ecosystem and planning for uh funding uh you know where things are going from a strategy perspective and then continuing to improve transparency. So funding is a second one. Restoring grassroots funding is really the focus for V1 governance. you know, um, of course the elected bodies can decide once appointed, but the goal is that nodes would continue to receive funding from near Foundation and the grassroots uh, community funding that was turned off uh, early this year would be restored and then a focus on decentralization. How do we improve our decentralization in terms of validators, genie coefficients of you know wallets in the ecosystem and then just continue to grow the ecosystem. So those are our general three pillars there. Next slide. So the election timeline, here's kind of where we've been. So we had about 50 days for candidates to nominate themselves. You must have had an OGBT to do that. Uh that window has closed. We're actively in elections right now. So we have a little bit over two days left in the elections. So if you are I am human verified, uh it's a great time to get out there and vote. After the elections close on September 22nd, we then have a 9-day cool down period. What happens during that period is the Election Integrity Council reviews any open whistleblowing cases or other cases of onchain data that has been identified or potential, you know, vote discrepancies. So, they complete those investigations. Then they issue a transparency report with actions. And in some cases there may be a community poll open to take decisions there. So that will happen during that nine day period. Once that's finalized then the elections finalized on October 1st. Those 29 representatives go come into office. Uh their first real objective is to create what's called the setup package, the budget for the Congress session and then get that approved again by the voting body. That session runs for six months through April 1st. So if we hit the next slide there. So then so this is kind of what I covered there. But when the Congress comes into session, they're going to define the budget and the key deliverables. Present that budget to the voting body once more. That's every human uh on near that has voted in the election. And then it once that voting body approves the budget um they'll be able to accept funding requests and start to approve uh those funding requests for the ecosystem. So at that point governance would be officially online. So that's kind of after the election the steps that are going to take place. And then the next slide here. So voting is live. It's an exciting time in our ecosystem. our first election. If you're I am human certified or even if you're on the grrey list or the unverified voter status, it's a great time to reverify yourself. Get out there to vote. We have a little bit more than two days left. Make your voice heard. Vote your convictions. We have three houses to vote for plus uh the kind of operating parameters of V1 governance and 29 seats available with uh you know races being very hot right now. So thanks to the community for all the engagement, all the turnout uh to the GWG and the tech work group near Foundation, all the partners uh across the ecosystem that have made this a success and brought us to this point of our first governance session in the near ecosystem. So, thank you everyone. Really kudos to all. And David, maybe just here on the very last page, I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Flip Side Crypto cuz they built their very own NDC Elections Bus Gateway. So, just wanted to give a give a shout out to that as well. And then wanted to thank everyone for joining the space today, joining the town hall. Um, huge shout out to everyone presenting. Huge shout out to all the good work that's being done.","transcript_synced_at":"2026-11-03T06:23:00.032Z","segments":[{"start_seconds":4,"text":"Hello everyone.
