importantly uh I am very excited for our guest today uh if you are on any chain uh any chain but most chains uh you may have seen uh nightly wallet before and uh I use it uh I've used it across multiple chains before uh they are very active across multiple developer communities uh they have a near instance and I'm really excited today to talk about uh everything that's going on with near uh uh nightly wallet uh what they're doing here on near what they're doing cross chain and I'm super excited we're able to bring uh the founder NB up here MB thanks for joining hey pleasure to be here thanks thanks thanks so um before we kind of get too far into it I'd love to just at the high level you could just kind of introduce uh what exactly nightly app is and kind of where it all started from gotcha gotta uh yeah so nightly uh is basically cross uh blockchain solution for uh keeping your money safe uh I personally was really tired with getting like multiple extensions to basically hold my money to interact with applications and I've always lost my seeds it's not like I didn't have save them I mostly forgot that I even had some accounts uh so after sometimes I don't know through three years I see like oh I still have some money on polygon maybe I should you know take it out um so yeah nightly is a basically soltion so you only need one wallet for everything uh it keeps your uh account sound secure but also isolated so you are not bundled in into like One Singular account uh like on Exchange you can still keep the anonymity between the different blockchains and also like on specific blockchains you can create multiple accounts um but it's basically like a solution for getting everything organized safe and sound especially looking at you know amount of layers uh and networks lunching right now yeah no I love it I think I mean it I could see as someone who's been in the space for a while that these type of wallets were certainly needed I think more wallets have started to follow that same model that you guys had kind of started to really push a few years back now of just trying to be on multiple chains allow you to have multiple wallets all of that stuff for you yourself um what was your background that led you into say I'm G to now build a wallet which is a pretty daunting task uh yeah so um I I have you know Computer Science Background so I I mostly like technical I used to work as a blockchain developer mostly on Smart contracts uh and and I actually you know used to work on like ethereum uh but at some point I stepped on Solana and this is where the kind of crazy stuff happened that you know metam Mask doesn't work back in the days you know the only wallet that was working on Sal was something called solid or something like that run by the FTX guys um so yeah it was pretty trash not not like to be to be mean but it wasn't the pleasant experience um in in the mean meanwhile also like I I think near was launching around the time uh and a bunch of different uh new uh networks I think Cosmos was like a little bit around her um so yeah and at the time I already had like I know five different extensions and I was like I'm I'm so over it um yeah so pretty much that's kind of I I decid like hey let's simplify this uh because you know users want to keep everything in know together and uh I personally when I started you know losing track of where the my money is uh and I needed to like you know open different extensions different extension had different experience you know sharing seats between those is also like super dangerous uh we had few wallet that leaked the the seats um so this also like forced myself to kind of keep track of everything while you know it was like kind of wallet job to to do sure sure sure um so this kind of turned it like hey let's build a wallet that actually soles this issue of management you just need one seat One account one for everything and it actually works yeah yeah no I I I mean I'd love the the journey there because I'm sure a lot of people felt the same pain points but for you to decide like Hey we're going to actually go and build this um must be pretty daunting but I from a just a technical standpoint for you guys as a team now that you are supporting multiple chains and everything else like what does that look like as a developer are you because it is again it's one product if everyone hasn't seen it before it is one app but you don't have to it's not per chain and then you can switch between chains inside it so for you guys as you are developing and building out new features and things like that what does that like workflow start to look like for you guys as a team um so I think we had different approach from like just the beginning and this we are not like a Solana wallet that started adding new chains we from a day Zero actually the two networks that we supported was Solana and near right those were the the two networks that we supported um and I'm really kind of proud of this uh that you know we started from I think this was like the most difficult chance at that time um and thanks to this you know early problems that we had because we had like a lot of them uh we figured out how to separate the stuff of like you know being a network specific and actually you know some common code that we can use to to manage everything uh and this in my opinion really allows us to basically you know add think new blockchain right now takes us like I know I don't want to be you know over optimistic uh but if this is like completely different network from a like scratch up to one month I I think you can basically integrate anything and if this is like svm or move or evm uh blockchain it takes us like a day to integrate it so sure sure sure now so for you guys in and as a as an architect of this platform was the idea to be able to normalize the data from the different chains as best as possible so you were not writing these extensive libraries per chain um so we always want to rely on something that is existing and is actually actively maintained because there is no way for us to kind of maintain ourselves you know 15 different blockchains um so we always rely on some third party and usually this third party comes from a foundation so this simplifies a think and uh the only thing that we are you know maintaining on ourselves like actively the only library is the library responsible for um Key Management so we have like our own return from scratch library for managing keys and this allows us to actually have one seed and generate a bunch of different accounts from them even on different networks right right I go you I got you that's interesting so as you guys have started to expand you add other chains and you work work with different foundations what are some of the things that typically come up in trying to figure out like what is the best I guess process of integrating this this other chain uh so you got kind of how the the process looks like for Integra chains right um yeah so it it's always easy uh and nice uh if the blockchain that we are adding already follows some kind of rules right um so you know pretty much evm what does right now what is happening with with Solana and a bunch of different svm chains uh it's really nice that you know we don't have to rewrite everything from scratch obviously there's few differences between those networks um usually uh but it's it's great that a lot of those networks follow the uh same Concepts and this helps us uh really push this forward because we have established some kind of um existing Solutions um but for example in terms of newer blockchains like for example uh something that was happening with with updos uh we like to engage early on with the foundation to provide them with like uh it's commonly known right now as a wallet standard uh so each Network should have should have their own wallet standard uh and if there is no wallet standard on the network this is actually pain to work with uh and I know this from from like experience we first of all supported uh upos without wallet standard and then you know over time we even like put a proposal that was accepted uh to create some kind of wallet standard that basically simplified the the entire process for everyone uh by the way I recently also we also kind of working on similar proposal for near uh because I think the Wallets on near also kind of start to get uh out of the hand um so having this standard will help us all of us and I mean like users developers and also maintainers of our wallets to keep everything nice clean and actually working um and this is the part that I personally look most in integrating new blockchain if there's existing standard sure if there is not I'm not touching implementation until we have standard that's like the uh that's like the stand standard standard like normal thing right now um to do uh and I think this is how we going to proceed long term uh so if there's standard yeah we can talk about the integration if there's not yeah we are not touching it because it's you know basically every week there is going to be some kind of breaking change to pi and our wallet is going to break this is not something that we are looking for sure yeah and also it's really you know this is also kind of I also service that we provide but this is something that we also do uh uh as a company uh because we kind of know how to do it and on like two ends of those stick um and this you know for ecosystem is basically for us it's like two weeks of work to come up with something like this and ecosystem gets basically every you know the best things that they can get from a wallet like you know this quick uh accounts change or like the network change uh which you know something for example Solana is still lacking the network change feature um which for example right now the wallets cannot know if you are connecting to Eclipse Monty Sonic or Solana which I'm sure is going to is already making problems right and etherum for etherum it took like five years or six years to come up with this solution of chain ID uh Solana is just getting hit with this problem um and I hope it's going to be get solved but yeah this is something for example this thing that I want to avoid later on so we already got this into the wallet St it doesn't matter if you don't have chains right now but this fure is already baked in just in case in a future that there is going to be like multiple networks and it also has with like you know test net devet you can actually detect and send the information to a world hey this application is on a devet or chet on the main net um so yeah yeah it was like a long thought but sorry no yeah yeah I I mean this is a good P I really wanted to kind of go down a little bit because I I was curious about your guys' perspective where you've been doing this for a while you've this is you started with like you said a couple chains with salana near and you started to grow that out and I wonder at what point does it become that not only are you guys the experts on like making a wallet but you also become like you said this expert of understanding like what are the best practices to integrate a wallet period into a network so for you guys I mean how do you though as a business balance that time of saying like is it worth me putting in the effort to try to help this network get standardized versus like ah this is kind of a lost cause or or when they're ready will come back but they're not ready um so yeah it kind of I love your thought about hey when they are ready we going to to came back um and I think this is this is really true with with like upos uh uh because this is exactly what happened right so we we kind of integrated upos early on then kind of FTX collapsed everything you know boomed and uh and I think like a year after it then we came up with like a standard right and it actually you know worked for for everybody else and um it's definitely worth our time uh especially considering the uh amount of networks that we have because this changes how we interact with you know um ecosystem we no longer need to uh track the applications that are integrating us no longer need to care about what the um Foundation is doing with the SDK because this is also something that is you know constantly changing we just track of what is happening with wallet standard and if there is a new feature that is rolled out we just create a p uh everybody agrees on this and then we have grace period of implementing it and all of the wallets have the same treatment and it everything happens automatically right uh applications don't need to you know agree on this new standard it just happens right right um the wallets need to just update their their SDK they know what features they are missing or got changed and implemented and it just happened magically you know everybody is on on the same page after like a few weeks uh even though you know some this feature might not be working you know at that time right for uh for some issues um but over time uh you know it's just like this smooth integration path or like the migration right so it's everything always work there is no breaking change happening so all of those change changes could be you know happening happening simultaneously uh and uh you know if we have like 10 different networks you know it's almost impossible to be keep track of all of the GitHub changes where sure sure if we track just the wallet standard yeah I just have notifications ready if somebody wants to you know drop some uh breaking feature um I be ready yeah interesting I mean how much at this point where I think again you know crypto is is this weird spot I personally feel like where it's is both somewhat mature but still very also immature and for you guys again dealing with all these different networks are you seeing it where there still are a good amount of breaking changes that do show up or is it kind of leveled off a little bit at this point um it depends it really depends like if the network is mature enough like ethereum Solana I think those those are and I think near also is really close that path um there's not much breaking changes usually you know some stuff uh is built on top of right uh but if we are talking about the new blockchains like basically every month there was like a breaking change and no one know because there was like just push the version uh to the npm some people upgraded some didn't you know and it's always a fault of wallet it's course course it's it's it's never issue with anybody else um and I think that the indexing for example is also a big issue uh this is really something that's standardized on uh older blockchains uh so we don't have to worry that somebody is going to you know nuke the indexer or something like that whereas our newer blockchains you know there's like five different companies launching and after a month only like one survives right right and if you are on a wrong one yeah it's it's kind of ir I think interesting with indexers so it so it sounds like you guys are you you Outsource that part of it you don't run your own indexers for for all these different chains or mix and match it depends we try um not to even use indexer so if there is uh if there is a state that we can fetch directly from RPC without the indexer we always opt in into this solution uh of of course as long it's not degre for a user experience so if this is like you know to get the to user tokens is like 1 seconds or two seconds for uh for a PC we sometimes you know use the slower version just to be you know compatible and usually or mostly resilient if that makes sense because indexers have like tendency to faing uh especially during a high load whereas RPC you can you know hook up I don't know five different rpcs and one of them should work sure sure so for you guys is that is that cost though is that also that cost always outsourced or do you guys try to run your own rpcs what does it start to look like for yourselves as a business um we usually outsources uh I think there are you know companies that are just F focusing on RPC providing and I don't think this is like reasonable for us to to run our own um we sometimes do it uh but it's mostly if there is no provider then the network is New Or there's a test net death net something like this uh so so then we try uh because we want to be early on uh available but this is not part of our business so I as soon as I can Outsource it I'm doing it no I like that I mean you know so on this show a lot as we talk to different developers and try to talk about like the the the the business and the the practice of actually shipping production level software um I always like to teach the approach of like you know you got to figure out what like what you're good at and like what you got what what are you going to master can't master everything you can't run everything um and so at some point you have to make some tradeoffs and it sounds like you guys have found that like like the wallet piece itself is really your strength and you understand it well and so some of these things even though you are reliant on something like an RPC that is a different level of experience and needed and dedication probably Staffing Hardware costs everything else you start making those tradeoffs it makes a ton of sense for you guys going forward and and I want to kind of pivot a little bit towards towards a chain like near how do you start to manage when you have a chain now like near who's been around for a few years um there is multiple wallets definitely here there is definitely some competition around the wallet part of it but at the same time there is clearly some disjointed around uh around the uh specifications of like what a wallet should do right there's no real standardizations here um there is some stuff on near that certainly lacking feature-wise how do you start to bance bance that as someone who has been supporting me from early on say like hey yes you want to try to affect that and you're trying to put proposals but like what happens if those proposals get rejected like what what does it s to look like for you guys dealing with a chain like that uh so it's also a funny think um a near um had a tendency and it was like a common f for a user to register their user like domains right so so you wanted to avoid completely like addresses and just wanted to use domain and uh here was where I was really against it uh and I actually built a wallet and a lot of early on people complained that like hey why my wallet does not like add by default the uh the domain right so um all of the wallets at the time um required you to create an uh domain you couldn't use a wallet without a domain and we were like the first ones and you know for a lot of people and I think also like a people at at the time at at near this was like hey we shouldn't do it this is not a proper way um and what I found from my users like actual users that use the uh the wallet they were coming from eum from Solana from different networks and they didn't want to Reg domain like because for that you also needed first of all to deposit some near to the wallet uh and you know the whole experience was like you know so complex that and some some even wallets were like hey you first registered the domain but you didn't have uh enough near so the wallet was crashing because the fet didn't work like there was a bunch of stuff that you know just didn't work whereas we were like hey just create a wallet click you have a wallet and right it's still like your your address like something that you are familiar from ethereum uh you can deposit near to this address you can withdraw it just works uh you don't need any fancy domain if you want you can create it like that's optional but it's not something that is you know op something that you can opt out I think you you in other worlds you couldn't even opt out from a domain yeah and all of the cool names were already taken so you usually ended with like NB 65 point dot near so it still was wasn't something that you know um I I think was interesting uh for most of the users especially if they wanted to kind of try it you know do some interaction keep the anonymity all that kind of stuff uh and I think this was like our strength and we still do it like you still you can uh register a domain using nightly but this is not a default way default just get address just like on eum all of the networks uh because this is the user base that uh is coming to the new it's not like the new is magically pulling the the guys from you know uh Oblivion it just happening you know that those guys are usually bridging uh especially at the time the aona aurona a Aurora it was like L2 it was like it is weird it was n if you have Network build on top on near um so a lot of those folks uh kind of wanted to come to the near and from near right and all of this like crap with uh with these domains kind of confused them early on uh so I think this was something that you know for us it wasn't any we just did less but achieved more and interesting uh and I I I didn't personally care what the kind of foundation the New Foundation thinking about it or the other wallet this was the proper way and I I just did it uh this way uh obviously you know um it's not like I had some insights at that time but from just my personal user that I I was coming from ethereum like I was so confused with those domains uh and I was especially early on uh even the exchanges didn't support the domains so you couldn't withdraw to your address because it was domain and wallets were heing hiding the the address like the real address so so again like you know um I I just remember this this one little thing I think there was a bunch of stuff um but this was something that I was even like Angry in office like yeah we we are not supporting those domains anytime so yeah that's why I I I that's a really interesting story I really like your your approach here and what's again was really interesting to me about a lot of this here is one I mean you're a user yourself and so like you understood some of the pain points and you know and I again this is a developer Focus podcast we're trying to like focus on saying like look like you have to be a user yourself you can't just build something for other people it's not as good but I think what was really interesting is like you know you understanding that like look the concept of the domains is really interesting and yes it is a simpler approach you know remembering your name and being able to do stuff I that stuff all makes sense but like you said when you have when your audience is other crypto users and you bring people in and you're listening to your users you see oh okay this is maybe not ready for that that that transition yet we we have to meet our users where they are I think it's a really in good lesson in there of just you know you know understanding what people want and trying to build towards towards that y so for for you guys going forward in in some of the stuff that you guys are trying to do now because you do support so many chains is the cross chain stuff something that you guys are really focused on um what does that s to look like you know now and and in the future um so for sure there is and more ways to interact uh between the blockchain and I think new is kind of ping in that front uh especially with those intense swaps um this is something that we are closely looking uh we don't want to jump in uh into like uh picking the winners right now uh I think there is already established framework for like EVMS right uh whereas our user base is still you know spread across move Solana near uh so those like are the kind of free networks that we are mostly focused on and um I still don't see like a one you know let's say overwhelmingly good solution that is going to like hey this is a cross chain solution for us for swaps this is the only thing that we going to kind of support and put uh all of our effort um I I see see that uh a lot of exchanges cross chains uh could be easily handled right now via the usdc or usdt cross Chain Solutions so we're kind of leaning right now towards that but as soon as we can um and I think this is going to be really close where we start supporting Bitcoin uh natively uh then we going to be like hey this is a time for us to to kind of um take some time and really integrate some cross chain swaps really good solution uh but I still don't see like a you know um or maybe not see I I see a lot of solutions right and most of them are really close to something that we want uh but it's still mostly like focused on EDM whereas we are not this is not our kind of primary user base we support obviously VM but I'm not going to trow everything for 10% of our user base uh just yet uh but I think long term as those Solutions grow uh we're going to see more coverage whereas it's going to be you know no brainer for us to to support it yeah interesting for for you guys as you are starting to build these things in especially like like Bitcoin you know what is the is the goal for you guys as a wallet maker right now you just allow different types of financial transactions or or is it trying to be like a a larger product in itself and and the example I'll give you is I'm seeing more and more wallet start to try to like include some piece of like maybe social or something else into the wallet is that something that you guys are interested in or is it for you is it just like hey we again we're trying to stay on task here with particular Mission um I I've been considering it and I'm always you know jumping through billion of different ideas uh and I think the social aspect is really cool but it's still not ready uh and I think it's just from a user user based perspective right most of the users are financially incentivized that makes sense and they don't care about you know sending emojis right now the social layer is mostly on Twitter uh and we have had some you know attempts like uh farcaster uh there was a bunch of different you know social uh forms um social tokens right that kind of stuff it was like a mix of those two um and all of them flopped so far uh and it's not like this is not our let's say core business so for me to kind of jump on some new hot idea uh I don't think uh we are kind of already at that point I think something like social handles um integrated into wallet that actually are cross chain so you have let's say your na wallet and you click like Dot uh NB and you can send from any blockchain uh and user will receive it uh and he doesn't even need to register like I know new uh wallet but he already can receive uh tokens on this network it just happens magically um something like this is uh you know let's say in early Alpha tests uh in N um but like I think that 80% of early projects in nightly died before releasing to the public um just because I like to release something where is ready and good uh and actually useful uh rather than you know just to hop on a trends of like social interactions and that kind of stuff um yeah so something like this yeah yeah yeah it's interesting because you know and and again I I I really find when I'm talking to different developers and business owners like it's of just trying to understand of like what is the balance between like you said like chasing the new thing and saying oh okay like we need to be part of this thing but then also like staying in your lane and just like in saying you know again what do your users want are your users going to be there for it uh you know you guys aren't like a huge team by any means right like you're not a so so for you to take on some other feature set that is taking away probably from something else and so I I think that's uh again I I appreciate Founders and developers who are really cognizant of that part of it um I do know yeah go ahead uh as long as we uh have networks that we don't support uh you know I don't see any major changes in our like product set we not turning into the social network uh platform uh but I I think it's it's this element right once we hit this like you know critical mass of basically if there is new network uh launching we want to be like hey it's kind of going to be required to communicate with us uh uh so we Implement them or they going to implement nightly by by kind of default of following Z standards uh then there is going to be like I think this is going to be like a great place for us to invest in uh other ways of expanding the business because at that point I think we're going to have massive user share and rolling out new features are going to be immensely more impactful uh than right now right that that makes a ton of sense um I do know you guys are trying to do something like you said you brought up the Bitcoin piece of that things like that uh you guys are looking so you're adding a tab called earn as well correct so what's something like that like what's that feature that's coming out uh so what's like the puff of the siding uh yeah both I think yeah so from because we're talking about building like like how do you what leads you to make to get to the point of like yeah we're going to actually you know go with this feature uh yeah so um it was a funny story uh we had some people uh that were joining the our team and they uh and we told them like hey use nightly to play around with all of the ecosystems and do some you know basic stuff like swap L borrow I know maybe mecoin something like you know the basic ones and sometimes the uh you know new people couldn't you know find some application like for example hey is there b ending on near and how can I find it um so was like a l thing like hey people know what the kind of applications they're looking for uh but they don't exactly know if this networks has it or like you know if this exists um so that's kind of how our let's say I don't know you to want to call this like Explorer but we have like application section in a wallet that actually allows you to um you know find yourself around um and kind of stuff like earn uh in my opinion it's like natural expansion of that uh people just usually like to hold their Assets in a wallet and why couldn't they do the same while also earning like I don't know 10 15% on top of their the stable coins um and not only this kind of um shows you simplifies if that makes sense interactions uh because nightly ux across all of the chains is uh consistent right so it looks basically the same to to land uh tokens on near while it's also landed on on Solana um so that's why I I think this kind of changes of how the users approach the network and of course later on we can kind of um ship those users towards those um existing applications where they can kind of explore themselves and show them like hey it wasn't that difficult right right right right it was basically the same interactions whereas for example on near it's also a cute thing uh on near there was this additional step of like approving uh spending gas limit and a lot of people were like confused why do I need to sign this this is I'm just connecting a wallet right uh so this was something that we all so kind of simplified uh and we obviously we cannot do it on existing uh website um but inside of nightly if you like lend your money it's just one interaction it's not like you need to you know um do some multiple steps um so you know obviously it's not like all of the features are hit instantly is not like you know a lot of for example staking feature internally um I that like not a lot of people like use this for for staking but for example once we added liquid staking you know usage sky right because now now that people can you know basically liquid stake directly from a wallet they don't need to go to some uh different websites uh and it makes more uh much more you know easy to do it um yeah but I think this is there's a fine line between like being a future Rich uh wallet and blo wallet with so we always have like a backbone of features that we try to uh try to support and if there's something like Network specific uh like for example domains on near um it's always opt in we uh we don't want to force users because we know the user base and they don't want to be forced to do anything um the bounce rate I imagine on on some like this is insane uh really if you just let people do what they already know they then they kind of already got themselves familiar and are ready to experience new things yeah yeah really yeah really interesting point around that how does this all though for you guys start to look as crypto starts to gain more adoption and you're bringing more we'll call like outside you know non- crypto natives now to the platform and turn turn them into hopefully crypto natives how does is that something that you guys feel that you need to start to address specifically and actually build features around that or is what you're doing today hopefully fitting like backwards into that um I think uh I think people are really smart uh and it's not always a problem of um changing things sure it's usually users themselves get to know things over time um so something like like smartphone right you know once that touch screen started eracing it not it wasn't like you know um you know people started you know to get some lessons to use it they just need to you know try for things figure it out and you know over time they uh got some like uh you know flu idity to to using it um so I I know there are few elements that in crypto uh long term are really confusing so for example seeds that kind of stuff uh you know um and those are things we are actively trying to solve so for example with social login uh you know let's say your wallet right now is your Google account and MH that's it right and you don't need to worry about the seeds you can recover any time uh obviously there is slight you know degradation in terms of uh security um but I think it's it's really worth it it's like a good P Point uh that you know it's small sacrifice for immense ux gain uh and maybe later on once the user is more advanced we can prompt him and he probably himself is going to like see hey maybe I should use Hardware wallet because a lot of people are using and then you know he's going to kind of migrate or create his first um Hardware Wallet account and he will he will know how to do it and use it uh yeah so I I think rather than you know saying oh yeah we need account obstruction we need uh you know Network abstraction we need all of those things like you know people in Banks still have like you know separate accounts for Euro USD you know of course if you want to pay you pay with your credit card that's bonded to all of them right right so so for example if you want to pay with nightly at least right now obviously this is like still a speculation long term uh but you were going to connect just nightly wallet and you will pick like I want to pay with near uh even though I'm making payment on bitcoin or some you know uh different or even like Fe right so that that's the kind of approach that we want to do rather than you know trying to you know aggate everything and everyone um I'm personally really scared of like fragmentation that we see right now especially in evm ecosystem I don't see this is like a this is not going to scale long term um not like from a technical point of view like from a community and uh there is reason why people are migrating towards near towards Solana uh towards those higher performance Network um and it's not because like you know um there is some kind of magic technology here it's just that you know I think etherum took a wrong turn and uh at that time people didn't know it but right now we kind of know it already right and for them it's really hard to back off from the same we've made mistake right sure sure uh so so this is also something that I I want to avoid right I I want to focus on stuff that I know is broken right I know that people shouldn't hold their seats and for example the solution that people are proposing like yeah my brother sister they go they are going to hold a part of my key for me and then once I lost it I can go to them and ask them to give yeah it's it's not going to work out yeah let's not K ourselves like this is not going to work out um and it's not like this solution is like magic it's already been for a few years right right so like yeah I'm not touching it in N you're probably not going to share your uh seed with friend yeah uh you don't share your passwords with friend so you're are not going to share your your seed with friends uh but I still think there is you know some breakthrough in terms of like ux for example Pas keys this is something that I I think is insane uh and this is where I would love to you know expand uh the API is still like really closed so we cannot like do the stuff that we actually want but if this opens up yeah the the first day like night you can create a nly account with pasy and it covers all of your account uh or your uh networks and even like signing transaction will require your um know uh Pass Key verifications for example scan of your face face ID or your fingerprint or stuff like that and already you you get so much security so like the ux is going to be insane um sure so yeah this is also something that I'm not jumping on all of the El Trends I'm just I I have something in my mind that I would love to use I think this is how it's supposed to do uh but we're just not there yet right it's not like it's issue of of blockchain the blockchain cannot do anything about it uh in most of the cases we just need to wait for like Apple and Google to to open up some standards to improve some stuffs um yeah yeah I you know I like what you you said kind of a little bit ago of the tradeoff between okay how much more secure does this make versus like how much of a ux gain do I get and when you're seeing those enormous you know separations between the two of like yeah okay I give up a little bit of security maybe it's not perfect but man this is super easy I I I love that approach because there is a big difference between if I have $100 in my account or 100,000 and hopefully if I'm at the 100,000 I have a hardware wallet I I am doing I I've now Advan enough into the you know world of crypto that I understand that other stuff that like that shouldn't probably be on your regular you know hot wallet anyway so like let's let's make sure we have something that we can store separately I I I think it's you know not enough products are I feel like are thinking that way you know there's too much of trying to be perfect in around crypto and then they're missing out on like hey you could make a really better user experience for your people yeah yeah and I think it was true by a while uh I think it's it changing uh people see this like hey maybe like giving users full ownership or of seats like it's it's not going to work out for everybody it's it's going to work out for some of the people but not everybody is the developer and you know few years back you know most of the you know users with developers right I knew around I knew you know my way around some seats or like some some features uh and then you know people started to liak their private Keys liak their seats you know forget them remove them um so this kind of you know I I think starts to to kind of spiral into some um different solutions we we see there is a lot of like uh providers for example NPC right so in here is also kind of doing NPC Network and I think this is um this is something that is also interesting and I don't I don't personally know if this is like a end game uh for Solutions I still think that right now uh social logins and I mean like Google and apple those two like are are insanely better than using anything else sure but but and there is also a but um later on if we can get like NPC Network that is you know uh comparable in terms of experience for users um while also significantly better in terms of security uh then yeah this should be like uh this should be like a solution uh but yeah obviously we are in a place that it requires some um some decisions uh right now I personally am more leaning towards the towards the just Google Apple social logins and I think this works out for us uh well uh but yeah we'll see what happens in the future uh there might be also you know some problems or like you know um you are as good your or maybe your money are are as safe as your Google account or as your iCloud account so if there's some kind of security leak here there yeah then you know everything changes right uh and you know I don't think especially iCloud accounts I I found them not as secure as they supposed to be there's always like somebody gets their photos leaked or or something like that um and also you are connecting it with a bunch of different stuff right so yeah this is also something that you might not see but yeah you by accident you're leaking your your privacy because you're connecting to some kind of we weird website um so yeah short down we'll see uh but uh I'm really uh you know looking forward towards those Solutions uh because I see like light at the end of like the ux nightmare uh and I hope uh by the time you know we reach it you know um everybody is going to be ready and kind of open to to accept it no yeah I I I I think that's great that's great uh I'd love to just end on uh just bring it back to to near a little bit since this is a near Focus show uh I know you guys have tried to put a couple different proposals in around the wallet situation on near can you just kind of summarize what you guys have been trying to do and then and just kind of where you're at today mhm um yeah so in my opinion current wallet selector is broken and it's beyond any kind of long-term support that's my personal opinion uh what I want to do is standardize it and shift the wallet standard uh I think we already kind of shared with some uh near depth like a proposal for it or like a draft I already have a code written so it's pretty much you know uh we can really push it forward uh and yeah it will in my opinion solve like a lot of pain points from a wallet side and also from like uh um security side uh we few months ago we had uh chair uh like supply chain attack on Ledger and in my opinion this was like hey yeah it's not going to happen this is too much right um and again this is a ledger like a you know Hardware uh company responsible for keeping your money safe um of course they cannot keep your mail safe um so yeah it wasn't as that of a big surprise um but this shows how much uh risk there is in including any kind of bundles extender bundles towards your code so yeah here where we kind of want to come in we're going to have standard and um applications will just import this one uh like that is going to be publicly maintained it's really minimalistic there is zero dependency externally um and wallets will just follow the standards of implementation and it's not going to be this also will democratize like access so if there is there is like a competition for uh for nightly yeah go ahead launch it and all of the applications instantly get access to to what's your wallet right you hey please add my wallet right and yeah it's personal point right I I used to do it um because we had to uh and also like you know please merge my PR fix to towards the wallet selector and then application can you bump your wallet selector because we've changed something um yeah it's pretty much Nightmare and I I would love to avoid it and uh not only this like solve some you know issues with like you know supply chain uh Integrations developer user experience accessibility that that kind of stuff uh it actually also opens up you know new features uh like for example um we are I think the only wallet that is actively expanding Safari extension uh so thanks to that we can get a Safari extension running uh which is in my opinion really good ux step uh long term uh but I still not a lot of users um are trying it because like you know the ecosystem is kind of lacking as a support for this um yeah yeah so so like um I I I see uh a lot of like potential uh in a year in terms of like how the interactions are kind of working uh that as I mention I'm against few things that are kind of mind anytime soon um but uh I especially like the NPC Network and the intents I think those like like the things that supposed to be happening like way way way by way back I I think this is like a killer feature that we we actually see from a for my year and I'm really you know looking forward to building something on top of of it uh and I think you know that the intents are just around the corner in terms of like our uh our kind of interactions and the NPC Network I think it requires a lot of like you know fine tuning uh but but it's something that you know later this year I might be like yeah we're doing this like hey this is how we going to from a day Zero user going to create accounts using NPC and that's that's it right obviously you will have the older ways but this is going to be a default one and you know people will be like hey you don't need seeds like you cannot even export the seeds because it's you know kept in in such a way um yeah yeah uh obviously I think that the year uh had been doing some stuff with like AI agents uh I I think this had has some potential uh but but it's not something that I'm particularly like you know I I don't see still a lot of usage for like a wallet themselves right right right right uh so I'm not kind of keeping uh track that much um but yeah I I think you know some killer features are are finally happening and uh this you know might turn in a way that you know people um are going to use near don't even knowing that they use near and I think that's like that the best endgate that the blockchain could hope for sure I I I'm with you on that yeah definitely definitely awesome well uh Emy thank you so much for your time uh I I I know you're busy and everything else I really appreciate coming on spending an hour with us um anything you want to shill or uh promote or anything else like that before you go yeah so obiously obviously nightly obviously use nightly uh if you're looking uh for like unified experience uh try us out uh we are supported basically everywhere so your iPhone your Android um you can even use it on MacBook using Safari so I think this is cool uh obviously extension uh we got it we got it all um you can remove all of your extension and just use one uh you no longer need all of those for specific networks um and if you're are particularly uh user of new uh we would love to know your kind of uh opinions uh what we can improve if there is you know any um you know weird points or like you know something that you like or didn't like uh let us know um I'm trying to be as responsive as I can uh because down the line you know I used to build a wallet kind of for myself but I think we we kind of reach a point where uh maybe my opinion is not the right one or the correct one and the other folks uh you know have U have a better understanding of what is actually going to work um so yeah I'm I'm open for any kind of
