have a very exciting episode coming up today uh we have our first guest uh fast uh they're going to come on we have Eugene from there who's going to come on and talk all about what fast is and uh again about kind of the infrastructure Happening Here on near we're going to have some news today we have some updates on some hackathons uh some followup so it should be a great episode and thanks again for joining us uh as always you can follow along on Twitter on Twitch uh you can see the replays on YouTube as well uh so make sure to check those out as well uh so let's get started and get right into it make sure we have time for everything uh I'm going to bring Eugene up uh he's from Fast near but he's also May known from a million other things here on near uh been around since the the beginning uh welcome Eugene and thanks for joining us here at Dev Hub live hey uh hey everyone um nice to join this uh wanted to start this um to be more frequent so you guys can ask question as well yeah no exciting I mean let's let's just get right into it and can you just talk about what faser is and what it kind of was born from uh to get started yeah so fer is uh a new entity uh we started this with uh vaj and you know him as well he's very active in the community and Vlad Gina he also a long time near fellow um we wanted to start fast near to fix some of the issues that we faced with the existing infrastructure so some of the stuff that happened during like long loading of the wallets and uh other issues that we faced as developers every day and our goal was mainly to address challenges that we facing as a like quickly growing uh protocol uh just because the amount of data is growing like rapidly so we wanted to have the alternative to uh existing services and make sure they actually fast and reliable yeah no I think I mean definitely all people if you've been around the ecosystem people probably should know well so what makes fast near unique and different than some of the current uh provider options right now so we provide a bunch of stuff um and we plan to provide even more so um the first product that we released called Fast near API um that kind of was intended to be a replacement for Kit wallet uh read endpoints and uh this endpoints are effectively two things so it is stuff that is commonly used by the wallets that is not readily available through the regular RPC on the blockchain so stuff that needs kind of like reverse lookups for example what accounts hold a given public key or what fible tokens are present on a given account and that information is not available because a regular near core nodes do not um store them in in this order so you can get in Reverse for example for a given account get all public keys but you cannot get all accounts for the publicy so that's why we kind of stepped in and and like providing this information no I I mean that's definitely a need I mean as a developer some of this stuff I think has always been a little bit uh ambiguous of where to go for certain infrastructure and not all the infrastructure has been standardized is that something you guys are trying to do a little bit with this project is standardize some of the expectations of what data comes in or is it going to be more like specific like you said like replacing something like kit wallet things like that yeah so there's multiple stuff as as well uh there's um we basically right now are very spread in terms of what we are doing and like trying to close as many gaps as possible as fast as possible so one problem we faced is availability of index data and historical index data so for example in order to receive all the um blocks that will ever produced and like execution of them the only source of this were uh previously Lake solution or you can try to manually reindex everything yourself um so we wanted to address this as well right now we have that data available through a regular HTTP requests for main net and we kind of reindex in this data our s a test net and once it's done it will be available as well uh for through the same endpoint but for test so once you have this data you can start building um kind of customized indexer solution so you can for example build like historical transfers of a given fible tokens and for this you need to go through all his hisorical and data and all blocks where the fun from the moment the token was deployed to now and then process all receipts that were um available by this data like that matches this and then you can create for example a postgress database that will provide you obious the information so that's kind of like a step one of uh doing it alternative Solutions are like well I don't really care about all the tokens I only care about one contract and I give me all the logs that ever was spawn by this particular contract so that's very frequent request that we see uh we don't have a built-in solution yet except for like actually you can go through the blocks right now and like filter out data that you need but we want to provide something like this as well um and uh finally there's RPC needs so right now there's a few providers of the rpcs but they do not not really scaled except for the main U pus end point and we wanted to have the alternative that is kind of uh On Demand on subscription and point that dedicated to a service so for example if let's say uh ref Finance wants to get their own dedicated endpoint we can provide this as a service for a monthly fee to run required capacity mhm of dedicated instances and like this in will not be reused for anything else except for the like their front so there are service like that's kind of products that we looking at right now yeah there no that's I was say sorry I'm going to just take a quick step back so there I mean I think the general aspect of like what you guys are doing makes a ton of sense and I love it what is some of the I guess because we can kind of get a little more technical here what are some of the challenges you have seen so when you talk about being able to you have this Archive of the entire history of the near chain and trying to put that in a way that is actually accessible so quickly I mean hence fast near uh how what goes into actually achieving that level of uh uh specification right so um a few things that we do differently is we don't use cloud uh provider that charge for ESS so we trying to avoid it unless we need it so that kind of limits us to a slower Network to like 1 gbit networks instead of like 10 gbits for majority of services um so that's kind of creates one limitation and to avoid it we use cloud flare and cash this on cloud flare whenever possible so for historical data if Cloud flare would willing to kind of provide replicas from the cache hot cash then um that's one solution if not uh then uh we basically trying to replicate it on multiple machines and each of them has a dedicated one GB Network so let create um kind of unlimited erress for us that we don't have to cover in cost um per gigabyte of traffic um another way is if you have a random access you need ssds and uh ssds are usually fairly Limited in size um so we compress data compress data Ram is getting cheaper so we put way more cash into the ram instead of like keeping it on straight on ssds and that's how we optimize certain Services we know that it going to come towards kind of final blocks so we keep this more in memory comparing to like historical data historical data is stored on dis slightly archived so there's uh removed overhead of like extra Json records we're trying to minimiz compute so we don't really currently deriz Json we just return it as this after unarchiving it so that's how our like data works and then the challenge here is update this on the Fly um and make sure that's reliable and in case of the failure of the hardware on network or something else we can quickly recover without having to back fill the data mhm so we we use right now um redis and some like replication on inje towards it and like CES in the Rus to be able to quickly retrieve the latest information at the same time uh um kind of keep it readily available uh but yeah we plan to switch to Nets which is na a ts. AO which is what Aurora is using and they have a better um redundancy and like Distribution on on a main Endo so you it has a better fault tolerance compared to what we have right now so one of the challenges you have say right was you know failure and if something has to then uh come back up online quickly I don't know people really understand maybe the backfill of data because I you say like that's a big bottleneck obviously if you have to redo that um just to give people a perspective how long does it take to actually archive all of the data uh from the beginning of of near to now fall park for my net we used Lake data as a source um and that was fairly fast to to do so because you can um it doesn't really need to go through every single block in a sequence like index are do right now so it can download this stuff in parallel which uh improves the sort dramatically for test net I think we started um indexing it and uh it takes probably around a month through a regular indexer on SSD to go through 100 million blocks yeah so but once you actually have this 100 million blocks stored in an organized way you can process them much faster because you do not have to collect them on a fly from ssds right right yeah I think it's I mean the innovations that are already here on near able to use something like near Lake to fill that and have that is a real advantage that you don't always see sometimes uh one of the other things though that comes to mind with something like that though is like why do why is it better for sometimes for developer to then use a service like Fast near or someone else versus just connecting to near Lake themselves what's the difference between those two yeah uh so so the service like for historical data that we provide is effectively an just an alternative to near Lake um there's one small difference that we have and that we also store transaction hash for every receipt so that requires extra processing on on the indexer side and near like just doesn't provide it yet um so second one it's fully like it's completely free and like assuming we would hit cash on the latest blocks on cloud flare and I saw that it happens um that scales beyond the like Network limitation that we have so I assume we can scale it to like large number of consumers with out an overhead of the network and that pretty much a good alternative to near Lake which requires you to um get this uh through AWS account like for near Lake you need the AWS account because you're paying for the egress and data access that you download right it's not that much but it still kind of adds up if you're doing it on a monthly basis or you need to like full historical data mhm yeah no I mean definitely I think that that all makes sense also I mean one of the things that's unique about near maybe could talk a little bit about is that there's a lot of different options to build here right so you could be a smart contract developer you could be a frontend developer uh there's all these different routes and so sometimes you maybe not have the right skill set so for the larger vision of fast near is it to fill in some of those gaps who especially for developers who are not com comfortable with infrastructure that you are providing that full setup as a service so not exactly I I don't think we will provide services to actually build infrastructure and like unless it's a general purpose so we can provide a common inder that is required um for like more than one client but probably not for just one client um we also open source most of our work it's just not organized nicely but the goal would be to be able to replicate our work if you have the hardware uh and run it on your end so this way you don't have to rely on us as a like service provider and like you can run it on your own and just right now it's very messy for how it was done and like once we switch to something that is a bit more stable uh we can provide that yeah no I that that makes sense uh so for your service right now uh what is available actually like today for someone to get started with and then maybe talk a little bit about uh the upcoming road map yeah so we have three services I believe uh that is production already uh the first one is API so that's um this is kind of kid wallet replacement so it provides funable token nfts and staking providers per account as well as reverse uh public lookups so you can map a public key towards list of accounts that hold it uh the second one is um free and private RPC so the free RPC we have about 10 nodes uh dedicated to just free RPC endpoint and that's just a standard near core RPC with slightly adjusted config and a private RPC available on demand and you can reach out to me if you're interested in this and uh third is the historical data similar to near Lake so that's the three services that are production ready uh there's also extra work that we doing one of them is um original kind of what it was called Fast near RPC and that original one is built by Vlad Gina so this is an endpoint that has a full historical state of the blockchain uh stored in L uh lmdb and it's available it basically a custom implementation of near core function calls so you can and create a query something like hey give me a fungible token balance at a given height of the blockchain and it will find what was the wasm file and um at this like what was the VM contract at this height of the blockchain load it into JavaScript worker in like web assembly and then start executing it and request storage from this uh llm L lmgb um uh database so that service is actually way faster than uh or like because it doesn't have a gas meter associated with calls and when the data is cached it's very fast in terms of like when the contracts are cached in term terms of reads and it doesn't require you to have data available on the same machine so you can scale the compute horizontally and then the database is pretty much that will be a bottleneck potentially um and then and then um yeah on on a future road map we basically interested in changing the finality of our uh indexer for API end point to be optimistic from final so you will still be able to probably query it with a final uh data but optimistic is what our PC usually return so when a wallet opens a page and displays all the balances uh usually they query RPC with optimistic finality mhm and uh this information is currently not available from the standard Lake indexer framework or our framework because optimistics blocks can be rolled back and effectively be dismissed if the other Fork is selected so there's like one or two usually optimistic blocks ahead of finality and majority of times they are confirmed and became final but in a occasionally they are not becoming final and getting revert so it that the implementation how the data is indexed has to account for this kind of temporary view on top of permanent view like final view sure is the goal with that to again improve speed is it all just in in the pursuit of being faster or is there another reason to focus on that it basically to eliminate the need for hitting the RPC in point for the data that would be cached got it so in this case um when you get the balances from the fast near IPC RP uh API for the fible tokens you um get in the finality balances at the latest finality uh and if the balance changed like in the last optimistic block then you not getting the updated balance because it doesn't know about it yet and that's why some bullets just go through the list of the all funable tokens to rare validate the balances and we wanted to avoid that if we can switch to the optimistic blocks then the RPC calls are not really necessary and majority of time you're fine with finality but at at the point where you just completed an action mhm and then went back to the wallet you may want to like revalidate only the balances That was supposed to change so makes sense an example of like H mining you let's say you have a balance of your hot tokens um stored in the fast near you just claim the New Balance if you query the fast near API you will get the old balance because it's not yet a updated um but this optimistic it will be updated fairly quickly so once the transaction is confirmed it's more likely that once this block reaches the indexer indexer r verifies New Balances it puts it in temporary View and when you query it we will kind of overlay the temporary view on top of permanent view to give you updated balances if they exist sure yeah it makes sense I I think I mean it sounds like as a a builder again whether you're building a wallet based proct whatever this is just a a nice route to go to because you guys are considering a lot of the aspects of not just the infrastructure part but actually the you know uh app developer as well it sounds like which is great um one entry point I think people should be aware right obviously is all your stuff you said is open source it's on GitHub um may we could just take a second and and kind of talk through a little bit of uh when I land at your GitHub uh where should we kind of start and what should we be looking for to kind of get into yes uh we don't really have a proper page to to talk about all the three in points so most information was on Twitter um but every page that serves here so there's uh fast near API server um on the right top right that's one that's that's the API end point which is kind of Kit wallet replacement the first one is um the RPC that I talked about that is Javascript based um lmb uh endpoint and then the near data server has uh docks on how to read the historical data perfect perfect and then um as I assume kind of for the for the future obviously you're going to be building out you know a full website and and all of that stuff to all know that that's great uh now uh you mentioned we have the Twitter up on the screen that the best place for people to start to reach out to you for fast your questions and things like that yeah it it should be fine to just reach out to this um on Twitter or just on for me on telegram perfect perfect uh let's let's talk a little bit about um so beyond just fast here uh you know you personally and your team has been involved in a lot of different stuff building on near uh what have been some challenges overall that I think you know just building on near period that you have to start to consider whether it's for the stuff you build for fast or just in general that developers should be aware of right so I think our somewhat we point right now is um is how people can start building on Smart contracts for year so I had a series of like smart contract reviews that we I put previously on YouTube uh it's still there but a lot of the stuff that was discussed there were addressed somewhat an updated in the recent near SDK um changes so it would be great to have kind of some series like a book how to build a smart contract on near and not just a simple one but something a bit more complicated like a life example of involves for example fible tokens and uh handle storage handles multiple fible tokens so maybe like a simple Dex uh as a tutorial how to build it would really help new smart contract developers who come in too near from like another ecosystem because there are some uh small items that people need to be aware of that are not present it comes from like our storage implementation um asynchron asynchronous runtime and kind of slightly different toking standards so that's one second challenge I believe is still front ends so this the wallet selector working near API GS work um it became a bit more challenging to just create a simple new application like hello world is way more than just a simple app just because how like you need to manage RPC selection multiple wallets account updates and stuff like this so that part is non-trivial and like you can build on Boss uh but that will be limited to the like boss end point so you're not going to be aild to stand alone and improving this piece would be very helpful so we had ideas how that can be solved by separating kind of host logic which provides all the complexity of like account selection and RPC selection and wallet selection and the client they just need to issue transaction view calls and and like Crees and wres so doesn't need to care at all about like where the data coming from um where the transaction should go so kind of two um two separate layers and then then a host can be replaced and then a client can be still there so in three years the client might still work because the protocol how they talk between each other as a host and client can stay the same at least for the Legacy versions so that's kind of stuff on the front end and I like how for example um now the here wallet allows you to just be logged in immediately if you open it within their wallet by injecting it mhm so that removes one of the like extra steps for the user um so if that experience would be common across all wallets or just like you do one selection of your setup and then open multiple applications there that would be nice to yeah yeah no I I think that that's a really piece is that something that you know so people don't know uh you're the original creator of near. social as well um and so that's been a really I would say you know interesting both product and probably for you even experiment on building on near is that something where you've seen over time that these pain points have been able to be rectified over time like with Innovations like what here Wild's doing or do we still have a little ways to go to continue to innovate here to solve some of these things things I still think that like well I feel that we mix too many use case into one and like NE social is a good example where too many use cases are present in one application so it's kind of like a social network a social identity for the blockchain um it is multi- application host it's and you virtual machine and stuff like this so so it's not does not fit very well and like hard to explain what it does so separating them into different places would be nice so there's a work on new virtual machine that more native but it oh yeah it also stored on the blockchain as a source of data so the complexity of this is unnecessary a lot of people might want to host their own uh website and be able to just host their own frontend there but benefit from kind of shared wallet so they don't need to like relog in people so simply fine in this direction would be nice so if I can go without without the boss component just create an local react application with all boiler plate already pre-selected and then similarly create a smart contract that already have all the stuff in place and get application with a contract running quickly and then the application that doesn't have to update front end every time a wallet selector updates that's the goal so a developer should come in deploy stuff to a Smart contracts deploy their website somewhere and then leave and their application should work three years later which is not the case right now yeah just because wallets die um RPC needs to be replaced and stuff like this so at the same time yeah boss has its own limitation on what's possible to implement and like how it's running so having native solutions for like even ipfs deployment or some other kind of permanent storage for just regular static apps GitHub Pages or Cloud flare pages is Right a way to go yeah no that that that's really interesting I mean you know you have a really unique perspective both from I think just you know from time as well as what you've actually been building so where do you see maybe even let's take the perspective of like near social where do you see that going as part of the evolution of near but also the evolution of a product that you've been working on now for a few years yes so on near social I would probably say it has to be redone in a way where it removes a decentralized part of the front and out so build it as a static well like not static but build it it's Standalone application instead of on the VM so it's fast and like has actions catchy so and build just kind of a social layer of this so it can be run on mobile as well and doesn't require a virtual machine inside then the success of forast in this example came actually from frames so you already logged in into the forecaster but you can interact with a custom applications and as custom applications are like if frames into some other app that just loads it as a a preview of the image that you can interact with so it probably the red Direction right now and rebuilding near social where like the advantage of this the data is actually stored on the blockchain versus faster where the data is stored offchain and only links to the chain similar how nft work mhm so if if someone wants to basically build a social layer on top which is fast and quick then it will get way more usage than current near social application just because it wouldn't feel too painful to use on like mobile devices day today so sure working notifications um quick interaction that don't need to be like extra confirmed um quick loading in UI caching l ERS um and stuff like this will greatly benefit the ecosystem and then yeah definitely there's can be like toomics built in later on top of this model mhm um so that's one as for decentralized front end part I felt the biggest benefit of this was you'll log in to near social or near the T once and then you have all the applications already logged in and they don't need to configure RPC calls because it's already provided um so you don't need a custom VM for this to work so you can just put an application into iframe and inject the wallet into this application how is here well it does it right now and then you your application can leave a on chain but for this you need like really fast serving layer uh which is possible to build just requires extra info or it can leave like on a standard web to just a regular website that get in a wallet injected and that will feel majority of use cases that we felt with b and the final one is composability of of components and that's where the like new boss VM is focusing on and that compossibility is on one end it sounds like a really compelling use case just because you can um inject untrusted component but at the other we face so many security flows with the VM implementation in the past that the new VM um tries to avoid them but at the same time tries to be as fast as possible and feel more native than the original one sure so it's kind of tradeoff between what you really want and what developers want when building an application like some people don't care about where it's stored and there should be options like their own endpoint Point versus on chain mhm and second is um the composability composability can be addressed again with the old you just publish a component that can be put into the your application like just pulled directly or something like this so while I think the new VM is a good good idea I'm not sure it actually strongly required by the community right now yeah makes uh I think that all makes sense so with all that in mind is this something that you're going to continue to pursue on your social or is it one of the things where we'll keep it where it is that that's serving a particular purpose and then go from there um so I would like to get to the actual just plain social application without um virtual machine that built on top of that social DB layer that was originally put in place and it mostly I believe a front end and product work than actual engineering that requires stuff at some point you need to scale the indexer that serves this data but definitely uh possible to do even now so it mostly the skills that I don't have uh but would be happy to support a team if they willing to rebuild the social natively and then um as for like VM support I think it's on Live support and like the existing VM is not getting too much updates anymore uh because the new VM will be superior in most of the um aspects from security to how fast it runs to like how easy to it's to use so there's no actual need to continue developing in parallel on the first VM if we can get to the new VM once it's ready and start rebuilding UPS into the new VM nice yeah I think uh it sounds like some exciting opportunities for developers who want to kind of come into this space for sure um this has been super helpful before you go we do have another question I'd like to actually just bring up to you here I'm going to bring it up on the screen um so the question was uh near rpcm points are not that great hence you've implemented a new API server which lets you access across uh the chain data most implementation is database read there sorry implication I assum you only do this for view calls for change methods you have to interact with the current near cor rpcs or canot be independent too uh both can be independent but so you can still send a message to validate directly Vis he through uh actual near core Channel not sure if you need to actually run the client if you only like R into the transactions so per yeah makes sense makes sense uh so last thing before uh we go um just in general I mean know you came here more for for fast near uh next steps for for fast near uh you know if I want to get started do I have to pay anything can I just jump right in uh how do we get started yeah so currently most of our um end points are free um we only have the like private RPC service right now um but yeah you you can just start with any of the four end points so two RPC endpoints one is just regular newor core one is more like a database for view calls um then API endpoint that is also available and like replicated and indexer data which is um can be accessed as well through just HTTP calls awesome so is not supported for rpcs no not yet okay perfect perfect no this is I think Super informative I I really appreciate you coming on being candid about uh both what you're building today and in the past I hope this is really helpful to people uh as you guys continue to build out more stuff certainly would love to uh have you kind of come back on and talk more about you know just kind of your continued future directions and and as the products kind of are growing um but I really appreciate your time uh Eugene I know you're very busy uh so thanks for coming on today thank you all right thanks Eugene all right so that was exciting I think we hopefully all learned a lot um fast is a really exciting product uh one of the things again that we're starting to see on near as the growth has really been exploding with more needs for infrastructure and fast near certainly falling into that uh as we kind of continue here uh I want to make sure that we are are following up on all the great things that we're doing here at devhub one of those is hackathons uh last week we talked about going into eth Amsterdam and how exciting that event was going to be so I'm going to bring Owen back one of our Devils to talk a little bit about how it went and some of the winners and things that went on there uh Owen thanks for joining us hello again uh yes please excuse me I might be coughing a bit and sneezing I'm under the weather but I'm uh I'm really really proud of what we achieved in East Dam and all the great uh hackers and projects that came out of it so I just I just had to come on and talk a little bit about it nice nice so yeah let's let's kind of start from the beginning what was the atmosphere like overall so Amsterdam uh the the hackathon it even though it's quite a small hackathon it's been my favorite I've attended so far even like Denver is wild but this was my sort of scene uh just very chill very relaxed I I don't know whether that's because of the weed or just the just the people yeah but just great Vibe everyone uh was very like collaborative uh we we had some people struggling with uh issues with the chain signatures how to create custom transactions not just sending uh like ethereum from one person to another and we we had some people crack it and some o some couldn't and they were were helping each other which was so nice to see and the the organizers were just great yeah no lot smart people as well yeah yeah yeah it sounds like from a perspective of uh just even introducing teams to near and then building it sounds like it was a success getting that message out yeah definitely so we had 12 um 12 submissions and all of them were eligible so a lot of the time with hackathons people will just Spam uh apply to like every Bounty just in case they don't like see it uh see it actually complying to these bounties and they and hopefully get some money but in this case every single one was eligible and a valid project and many of them high quality so that was so amazing to see and and a bit of a shock as well to be honest yeah yeah so let's talk a little bit about um what the bounties ended up being and what you actually uh saw delivered yeah so the we had like I said we have 12 submissions and because the teams were so great and the uh the projects were so great themselves we lud Mill and I were sat in a room for I it was just over four hours judging uh so it was very difficult to decide the winners um but we ended up declaring seven winners so for well first pre I suppose uh we gave out $1,500 for tofa and feedback so tofa was like an two- Factor authentication multisig wallet where you had to um you you had to like sign in on your computer and then it would push over a code to your uh mobile device and You' put the code in there and then once you were at in this wallet you could then send transactions from ethereum or on like arbitrium on on polygon and whatever uh it might have had Bitcoin as well and you could mint an nft all from your near account and we we love this project just because the user experience was so great and it was a um a good use of of chain signatures and then the other top project was feedback where uh it's it's def difficult to remember all these projects because there were so many but it was it was like a uh a survey platform where one could uh create a near account from like a mobile telephone number so they gave us a live demonstration where this the survey service would call a participant and they would answer it and fill out their survey online through speech and then it would submit it and broadcast it across chain and pay them on whatever chain they wanted and this this like mobile phone survey feature was so cool to see very cool um then you had a few other ones we have Neo looks like it was a pro a private cross chain voting with chain signatures yeah so in that one they were voting on uh uh yeah do you know the salana meme coins where it's like Bowden and and Trump or whatever that's what they were voting on that that was a great one and then there was also uh octopus layer which was to do with ZK um like verifi verifying proofs on near there's jpeg stationed which was swapping Bitcoin ordinals and ethereum nfts then there was also kudas which was um which was not chain signatures and it was more to do with posting reviews about a certain like ethereum address but it was hosted on on bus or near components and then we had I don't know how you I I remember saying secured Jam but I think it's secured hamon my sorry and that was uh swapping assets between chains nice and they all the winners we had but we're having if you want to hear more about these projects we're having them present on a lot of different community call so we have the chain sign call coming up next Thursday which well a few of these chain signatures projects we'll be presenting on and we'll have a discussion of some other things and then we also will have the octopus layer present on the ZK uh Community call which will be next Wednesday There's not an announcement out for that yet but uh prepare yourself there will be tonight yeah exciting exciting stuff uh I think walking away from this event and thinking about future events what would be I guess a couple lessons that maybe you know we talk about some like uh preparation for hackathons last time so now that we've been through this we're seeing how chain signatures can work and be integrated especially into these eth conferences uh what would your advice be maybe going into the next one so haon Pro project should always well most of the time should start in the hackathon themselves but with chain signatures what I saw and found with myself actually is that the the implementation and like the programming of it is really quite easy it's just quite simple JavaScript making some calls and if you're using the the near multi-chain repo or or some other one it's really all there for you you just have to uh put how to interact with these um forgive me and so so the actual difficulty I thought was trying to wrap your head around the concept and how uh the chain signatures actually work and how you could set up this from a a contract and make cross contract cause so I would just like have a look at the docs before it beforehand trying wrap your head around it and doing things like Jo joining this community call next Thursday will help you do so uh and yeah because chain signatures is is really quite new for n the the documentation is always getting updated so there wasn't necessarily all the docs to implement what they were doing there for them at the time uh I I know that's coming out now so I was so impressed that some of these guys and girls were able to actually implement this without too much handhold and that's what I think I was impressed with the most yeah that's awesome I mean that's you know I I for a devell perspective right I think the best thing we always want to see is not only do they get what we're trying to get across them but they're able to then go take it and run with it and do so much on their own like I feel like that's the beginning of something successful when they uh can start there and kind of get going on their on their own that's really exciting um I don't to keep you too much I know you're not not feeling well um anything else kind of I know so again we have the chain abstraction call coming up you said the DK calls coming up uh anything else we should uh be aware of upcoming in the pipeline here I would say some more some more tweets coming out some more content look out for that if there's any content you want to see so someone I I put a a tweet out about deleting uh access keys and there was some feedback about wanted to know more about uh function call Access keys so if you have any suggestions on what content you want to see uh hit us up for sure and we can put out some more content about that because we're sort of over here guessing what you want to see and we have a good idea a lot of the time but if you tell us directly then we can tailor content towards you so let's say you don't understand a specific bit about chain signatures let us know in like the dev telegram or even in a DM you'll see me in a lot of the channels or or on Twitter uh yeah find the find the big orange cat yeah there it is and just message me if you want to see anything content and of course we'll have some more events coming up so I think we're in we're in Berlin and and elsewhere we're we're always at an event not too far from you oh before we get I mean so now people participated they uh won some prizes so Bounty booster uh what's what's next for those who have actually now built and one so I'm not too well read up on the Bounty booster myself so I'll have to get back to you on that one but there's there's definitely some exciting opportunities with uh through like the the uh the the community calls Horizon so I know that Horizon are doing a big push on on chain signatures in like the upcoming cohort so definitely get yourself registered for that and proximity have a chain signatures form you can fill out and you'll you'll get uh further support and just yeah yeah uh we'll we we love like hackers star in the hackathon but we don't just leave them after the hackathon contemplating what they should do next we always like to follow with some next steps and keep in contact with them even if they didn't win any prizes yeah for sure for sure yeah I mean that's we we always hope we're always available uh whether it's through support online uh you know again if you need something more specific we can certainly help we know a lot of this technology is is new for people both from a perspective of coming to blockchain and also things like chain signatures and everything else so that's exciting well Owen I appreciate you jumping on quick I know you're not feeling great so I won't hold you any longer but uh again if people should uh be reaching out and you know we'll be there online for them too uh take care Owen and uh we'll see you next time yeah thank you see you all right uh before we go uh I just want to wrap up here and make sure that uh everyone kind of is aware of some of the things that we have again going on uh if you have not signed up for our newsletter that's the best place Place comes out each week it has a full rundown of of everything that's happening in the developer ecosystem here let's even just kind of show you quick uh you you get things great things like uh some updated you know featured releases and PRS General overview of current updates we get great things like some tips and these tips come from the community what we're hearing from other developers uh some things to pay attention to uh as the neps are coming through and getting changed and voted on the next status great opportunity to stay up to date with that I know there's a lot of it's easy to get lost and everything we have it all right here for you uh we just talked about eam which was great that the updates are there uh the chain abstraction Community is growing this is something and that we are really focusing on here at near uh it's a great opportunity to both get involved and learn more so we have resources right here we're always looking for contributors so please make sure you check that out and then importantly for those people who are looking for IRL type of things as well as maybe some stuff that's may be online uh upcoming events is the place that's always at the bottom of our newsletter we have upcoming uh calls uh events across the whole globe so uh please make sure that you're checking this out and following up here obviously consensus is coming up as well and that will be uh something again that we make sure that we have Representatives for different things as well and then all our telegram Community channels so if you want to get involved in a community you need support you need help uh we are there uh to help support you and that's kind of the the goal of what we're trying to achieve here uh I really appreciate everyone jumping on asking great questions uh thanks again to fast Eugene from Fast specifically uh to really jump on and talk all about what's with fasir we talked a little bit about near social which was really exciting uh and just to kind of get an update of where everything is going and just again some of the challenges of being a builder so we'll continue to go over some of those things we'll bring on more guests uh we'll talk about different build you know how it just is to build on near and build on blockchain and get into more of that uh each week so keep coming by uh keep asking questions and again uh make sure that you've actually taken time and sign up for our newsletter because that's going to be the source for all this information and what's coming up next uh until next week uh I'm Joe and I will see you then take care","transcript_synced_at":"2026-11-03T04:11:52.584Z","segments":[{"start_seconds":0,"text":"oh","url":"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0-XUbk-GIE&t=0s"},{"start_seconds":37,"text":"hey welcome
