super glad to have you here there's been a lot that's been happening in the months of march and we're really looking forward to sharing that with you before going into the details of what's been happening in march uh one thing we wanted to update you on uh is regarding to the ukraine uh situation and the what's been going on we've been setting up a hub in portugal in lisbon and are delighted to see more and more of our teams and of our ecosystem participants moving to lisbon with that we do have quite a lot of things and agenda to share so i'll start by making an introduction reminding ourselves what is near about and specifically what the near foundation is here to do uh we'll then actually walk into some updates from the partnerships and the events that we've been uh going to and the events that we'll be going to we'll have an update on education and an update on the funding that's been happening in the ecosystem last but not least we have a fantastic panel and the panel of the months is about dao's on that panel you'll hear different perspective from constitution dow cell gp orange dao and unchained fun so stay till the end to see what's going on in the world of daos before going into our agenda one announcement to make we are super happy to share that neer has been chosen the layer one blockchain protocol to partner with orange dow orange dow is a fantastic dial made up by y combinator founders four y combinator founders an ecosystem of more than a thousand two hundred people near will be the layer one protocol part of that ecosystem and look forward to working with phenomenal y combinator founders uh to bring more amazing businesses to web3 let's go into a little bit of an intro so at near what are we here to do we are here because we believe in a world where people can control their assets their data and their power of governance an open web world the foundation to support this vision has three main responsibility number one we are actually here to help raise awareness of near the near protocol but what's also been happening on near number two we're here to support projects building on near and that comes in the form of grants funding and actually helping by sharing with knowledge and resources and last but not least the foundation is also here to help provide a clear and safe path to decentralization helping in particular with topics such as governance and regulatory engagements the flywheel we like to think about at the foundation it's quite simple on the slide but it's how can we help attract more talent and have therefore people who we say are qualified students in the new ecosystem in return having more talent and qualified students will help grow the number of projects that can become qualified startups and in turn this will help get active users and engagement the new ecosystem has continued to grow uh we've trained over 40 000 students here to date have over 120 near certified new developers um we've continued to given to give grants to help grow the ecosystem and are seeing strong and steady growth in terms of transactions and wallet users nier has been in the news a lot in the months of march you may have follow unchained fund which is a fund which has been created leveraging the astrodow platform to help the relief in ukraine has been seen on laura sheen's podcast has been seen in the wall street journal and many other outlets we've also seen some great craze press coverage with our new partnership with cell gp which is larry ellison's a new sports endeavor um and that partnership will enable us to create one of the first in history of sports and the in the history of um professional sports which is to create a dao that can actually own a first uh professional team nier has also been seen uh in the news in missouri missouri did a great report on the near layer one protocol which i highly encourage you to have a look at and last but not least we've also seen move one of our ecosystem fund be prominently featured in block forks and now i'll pass on over to chris for some marketing and partnership updates all right thank you marie for the the intro uh as you guys have heard there's a ton going on around the globe uh and especially in the the marketing world so right now we're going to give a quick overview of three quick projects that have been hitting the market in the last couple weeks leading with sale gp if you missed it there's a big announcement last thursday uh about our global partnership with larry ellison's uh new sports property sale gp uh one of the most exciting uh i think and rapidly growing sports uh around these days and these boats uh people are probably thinking boats these things are like rocket ships on water they're pretty amazing to see in real life but really that the goal here is to look at the property as something that we can really drive deep integrations with uh so if you heard the announcement you heard that the league is working to launch a dao so looking forward to see that evolve over the coming weeks and once as season three approaches in may but also really looking at deeper use cases from ticketing to nfts so this is very much a deep tech integration as much as a global awareness go to market as you notice on the screen here you know we've got international teams competing so we can find ways to really bring in the community from around the globe around this property and this weekend we got a little bit of extra global distribution as you see in the little banner running around the ocean chart there with that brave we've been going to market with brave for quite a bit but the last month or so we've really focused some of the big moments on supporting the end chain fund specifically the near base dow and seeing community come in and support that has been really awesome as well as education trying to focus on bringing folks in drive awareness that near is the place to learn about web3 as we get global reach we've done some research studies that are starting to show that the the brave community approaching uh and probably now beyond 55 million users are really starting to see and understand that near is the place that you can learn about web3 whether that's your first entry point or just getting up to speed on mir uh and then play magnus group uh so if you guys don't know magnus carlsen uh one of the leading chess players in the world um their group actually ran a charity chess event which the the new ecosystem sponsored and supported uh for unchained fund and with unchained fund being a cross chain initiative really exciting opportunity for us to talk about not only what we're doing but how the web3 community has come together in properties like gaming to really be able to drive the the conversation forward so that was an exciting one to see and really follow along with but there have been nfts made as well so when we think about use cases we're really looking at how can we drive a connection forward beyond the tech and beyond just the name near and that's exciting for us today so jumping to our next slide you know looking at marketing by the numbers at the moment since the beginning of the year we've seen over 700 million impressions and that doesn't even include the broadcast from this weekend uh more to come on on what we've seen end to end in the month of march but really exciting to see the growth we've seen over seven million clicks so those would be engagements into web properties and then we've seen exponential growth within twitter over 105 000 new twitter followers the reddit channel has grown by a little over 4 300. uh youtube views actually have nearly doubled uh since the last time we talked uh and our town halls are really one of the the core places where people are spending time um so seeing that organic engagement genuine interest is something that we're super excited to see um and so with that you know we'll play a little video here to talk about how something like clgp is going to go to market and for this this is just a little bit of hype so enjoy it and we'll talk to you in a second my all right that was pretty awesome right those things are not just uh boats floating around the water they are truly insane pieces of machinery um but the entire team at cell gp has really been doubling down with us on going to market in a unique way and we're very happy to have that news out in the world now but as we think about building the future i want to pass it over to maria to talk about metabolite and what we've seen there thank you chris this is maria and i'm happy to tell you that we've just wrapped up on the biggest hackathon in years history so far with a one million dollar prize fund in almost 4 000 participants i was in the judging process while fleeing the war in ukraine and i'm incredibly proud of the community that made it happen and delivered some really exciting projects all congratulations to project wu meta ads and near playground enjoy your bounties and don't forget to respond to all the potential investors 62 more projects also received praise and funds as a result of this hackathon and if it as an organization is doing and sponsoring but the community also rallies and so you can get in touch with other community members through our events by looking at the community calendar thanks so now i'm going to go ahead and pass it off to sharif to cover education hi there my name is sharif i'll be presenting updates from the education side let's dig in with a couple of details so here in three areas of our attention we are attracting as many students as we can into our programs and tens of thousands of students even in the last week of march several thousand people have registered here in this these last few days so we're incredibly excited about the uptick and you'll see those numbers coming in not just on certifications but also in other programs as well on subsequent slides certifications are still low it's not easy to get near certified you have to build an original project so of these thousands and thousands of people who are coming and joining us only some hundreds are able to actually complete the certification we want to maintain a high bar but also make this program more accessible and so you'll see some new innovations coming from the education team over uh the coming weeks and months um the ambassador program is growing and healthy now over uh or about 500 universities uh with uh several hundred ambassadors maybe one or two ambassadors per university uh are engaged on campus and several dozen companies are still actively recruiting on jobs.near university join us near your university certify if you'd like to take any of our uh training courses with us you can see some of the evidence of this increased activity in our fellowship registration program for example so just uh in this last week we've had a big spike and significant activity from our indian population friends who are developers in india engaging with our certification programs fellowship programs applying for grants very exciting for us and you can see in all these different states here on the right hand side applied in review accepted and so on we have several different countries these are the top 15 countries performing here india nigeria u.s mexico and turkey being top five so incredibly excited about the reach around the world and as you'll see in the next slide on a map this actually looks uh looks very good here so global coverage with this last month in that that bar on the far right hand side we finally started uh ramping up on our marketing and outreach uh so the initial uh interest for fellowships and so on was in uh you know december and then january february and then finally here we are in march you can see that massive jump in engagement and coverage all over the world so the more the merrier we think and we hope to have a massive fellowship program of course holding a very high bar for what it means to become a fellow but entrepreneurs in residence developers and residents and more check out near.university fellowships and um wrapping up here with the next slide if you don't mind um just a brief spotlight on uh ozone uh ichigo who is um a fellow a certified fellow he's been with the education ecosystem now for uh maybe eight months or so almost a year and he joined us after finishing a coding boot camp uh originally when he joined he conceived a tourist a kind of nft application uh that allows you to uh to claim nfts for for different places around the world and he designed some of that work you can see it in the background images here he also contributed to building near in minutes and uh helped ncd instructors near certified developer instructors to welcome newcomers so ozone has been a a huge uh contributor in this regard and very recently he's actually joined one of our education partners patika you can see their website highlighted on the bottom right hand of the screen here to increase awareness of the ncb program and go to the community and so he's just recently launched a course of his own making web three in the near pathway with already over 1500 applicants in turkey alone just over the last couple of weeks so we're very excited to see ozan you know set a high bar and to move at the space and of course i'll look forward to sharing more highlights from the education side in the next town hall and so with that i'll invite uh you to join josh here as he covers funding in the new ecosystem josh over to you thanks sharif really appreciate that that was an incredible update on all the activity in the education space here in the ecosystem uh hello everyone uh just again josh daniels here on the funding side really we're excited to give you all a brief uh but i think a really interesting update on what's going on in the funding world as well as with our general ecosystem uh initiatives as a refresher really would love to give you a uh update on sort of what the funding platform's core vision is i know we've talked about this before but i think it's worthwhile to go through again and so we really see sort of four pillars here with the goal of ultimately providing a clear and efficient place uh for projects teams and individuals to receive uh funding and support within the new york ecosystem uh the first piece which i've always talked about quite a bit um is create is supporting that creator triangle so really helping to provide projects communities and programs with ultimately the support they need to grow also providing access so being able to have projects really uh sort of connect with others within this ecosystem to provide support as well as also providing access to external parties that ultimately can add value whether that's through funding um or advisory support um as well as community and so as new ideas and experiments and opportunities uh come to fruition really provide creating a space an opportunity for those projects to flourish and really gain visibility and then i think very important here is aligning incentives and so as we look to uh partner or engage or create relationships with projects making sure that we're all focused on the overall growth and positive development within the air ecosystem okay now i would really love to give you all just a quick update on a couple of big areas of the ecosystem where we've had some developments since our last town hall one is around our grants program and external funding and the other is around our regional hub effort on the branch program side we've given out over 230 direct grants to projects who are developing and building in the ecosystem these grants have been committed to for about a little over 15 million dollars which is really exciting for us as we've really accelerated our development of the grants program but also have had a focus on identified equality project projects and really supporting them as they move through the development cycles once they receive their grant another important development is that we've had eight projects raise over 70 million dollars in 2022 alone these are projects that range from open finance to nfps uh to uh social networks that have really shown sort of the diversity of opportunities and business models in the near ecosystem and really the excitement that um external uh pools of capital have seen to date to really support ecosystems growth also importantly we have 84 projects that are currently fundraising and looking to raise a little over 350 million dollars in capital in total another development that i would really love to highlight here is that uh our on our on the foundation side and with uh some key projects in the ecosystem we have been continuing to explore the concept of grant pools with a larger set of projects that have developed and built out sort of their models to a level of maturity where we think it would be really interesting uh to support them and so more to come here but this is something we announced back at the first near con uh in october of last year and we really are still very much committed to continuing to move this forward so more to come there and definitely reach out to the funding team if you have any questions or thoughts but we'll be giving some updates on that front soon on the regional hub effort um this is something that i know ilya and marik are quite passionate about with grace uh in this foundation leading this effort and one of the things that we're focused on here is supporting these these hubs with direct funding to really help them localize their initiatives and support projects in their regions and so you can see here kenya the balkans latin america and ukraine that is now you know for the moment uh based in uh portugal have really been sort of driving development growth which is quite exciting we've also been exploring some other potential regions in southeast asia and europe and so more to come there but really exciting stuff on the regional hub front that we're going to continue to explore as always i want to make sure that we leave space to really provide folks in the ecosystem but be the builders or folks that are interested in supporting and learning more how best to get in touch with us and so you can see here you can reach out to our team here at the near foundation through these channels for grant funding for regional hub funding and equity funding as well you can also reach out to our existing grant pools around aurora proximity uh education uh as well as human guild which is focused on development of games uh as well as uh looking to meet with our backer network and so these are uh individuals and organizations um and advisors that are looking to really deploy capital and engage with projects that are developing and so really excited to support uh folks there and then you can see here on the far right how you can sort of engage and sort of understand other ways to um you know get involved in the near ecosystem whether it's through educational content career opportunities or involvement or membership in particular battles so really excited for the continued development in the ecosystem and with that in mind want to pass it off to mimi who leads open web collective which is a really exciting um uh project that's focused on development of the near ecosystem as well as the web three broadly mimi thank you josh for that warm welcome i'm excited to be here with everyone today uh it's been a while since we've had time to join a near town hall and get to speak to you all but i've missed uh moments where we've been able to get together and so i'm super excited about the announcement we're going to share for you all today i think this is just a small highlight of some of the other things that will come throughout this year that i know you all will be really excited about next slide so first and foremost batch 4 of owc will be launching next week what that means for you all is apply at the link that's shared on the screen we're so excited about batch 4. this is going to be our biggest batch yet and just like other batches before we want to see projects from all throughout different uh industries and sectors so if you're focused on d5 nfts dev tooling we want to see it all and we're super excited um as i mentioned before there's a few key changes to the program that i think the next slide is really going to highlight well uh next slide one of the other really exciting news is that we will be deploying into every company that joins our accelerator so that means when you join day one of the program you'll have 150k and towards the end at the closing of demo day you'll get another 100 500k uh really this allows you all to just focus build focus on those uh key kpis that we all know are super important for your next round sometimes that's launching a product and getting the next step of your product out other times that's us thinking about community uh marketing building awareness as well as syndicating your next round right which is really important and i know often can be very daunting for startups and that's the exciting part about what we do is that we're focused on figuring out how we can help bring not just investors but the right investors to our team i say this so often capital is vast but you want the right partners beside you and i think this is really an opportunity for our founders to do that to find the right capital um rather than sort of stressing or spending 12 weeks you know fundraising and they sort of haven't figured out you know what's next for them who might be the right partners to help them achieve their goal um with that i just wanted to highlight some of what our previous batches have been able to do next slide so thus far we've had over 28 companies it's so amazing to see again the vast diversity in founders and where they're based location etc and this is just a few of them highlighted here many of them you'll know in the near ecosystem they're absolutely amazing shout out to perez uh you know minke artera uh opie games who all have recently raised and just done such an amazing work uh the last year and so i wanted to highlight that this can be used startups who are watching in the near ecosystem we're so excited uh to meet you all and to spend time with you the next 12 weeks in our next batch um you know we're looking for the next unicorn within the near ecosystem and we want to help build that so if that's you if you're hungry if you're excited to build um like i said before apply and just the last slide that i wanted to share because i think it really highlights what i've been talking about from the beginning about this batch in the accelerator i think you all have been a part of the journey since batch one uh but really the the magic about the accelerator is the collective the people right you're able to spend time with near more deeply you're able to spend time with the mentor in the industry who may be diving more into your sector or gaming or they've done a number of deals in that area and what that allows is for a really um great collaboration in relationship building which i think any founder knows anyone who's a ceo knows is that's the most important thing for your business is figuring out who the right partners are relationships are and so this next slide um i just quickly want to highlight how we've continuously seen that our vc network our network of funds are contingent continuously coming back to work with us and and find the best startups for their funds and to invest in startups from the near ecosystem owc ecosystem and it's really a testament to how again this um perspective on not just finding uh capital but finding sort of the right partners for your startup and and again uh it can be sort of the difference in the changer in your company and your business so with that uh i'm excited to hear from you all feel free to message us on twitter our dms are open message me personally again super excited as always um i want to hand it over to darren who's going to be leading a panel on dows thanks mimi appreciate it my name is darren revell and i'm going to be doing a panel with a bunch of guys to talk about uh dow and the near protocol and things that are going on in the space uh joining us today is ben johnson from sale gp i'm sure you guys have heard uh the deal that denier protocol did with sale gp which includes the possibility of having uh a dow um own a team within uh sale gp uh we also have don ho which is uh of orange dow which is uh taking y combinator alums and using the dao structure and crypto to invest in future projects we also have rev miller who's used the dao block chain in general to do amazing things including the unchained fund which uh has raised uh 7.2 million dollars with 5.3 million dollars being raised in uh a near based dow and finally julian wiser you guys might have heard about constitution dao probably uh the the dao that has given the most attention in this space uh by uh trying to buy one of i think 13 copies of the uh declaration of independence um and uh uh julian that was an amazing effort of course came up short but obviously uh was uh it got got the uh the landscape really excited about the potential of a dow raising 47 million dollars how quickly you guys do it so thanks all for joining me uh let's start with ben um ben how did the deal come together uh with near and what are the goals of you know potentially uh doing uh allowing for a dow based uh structure to be an owner in the league yeah darren so we've seen a lot of interesting partnerships in this space as i'm sure everyone else has some that we've thought are are really unique and some that we've thought are um very traditional with a with a new opportunity which has been surprising for us we saw a huge opportunity to really rethink our partnership uh capabilities in this space our team and league more broadly are really looking to innovate what we are doing we're looking to bring a old sport to new fans uh we're reinventing uh the sport of sailing around the world for anyone that hasn't seen it we have hydrofoiling catamarans going almost 100 knots this is a total reimagination of a racing sport for us and with that we see the opportunity to find a new technology uh like web3 like partners like mir to really rethink how we would have traditionally done a partnership so we looked at this space for a very long time there are a lot of uh teams doing incredible work here but the near team really captured our imagination with their approach to how they want to take inclusivity and some of the things their teams stand for and apply that to real world use cases so we saw ourselves as a as a vehicle to start from scratch really look at new and innovative ideas and this dow team concept that i know that there will be many questions on i think is one of the most vicious steps in sports partnerships and various rights between the near foundation and the clgp team are two committed partners trying to solve some of those challenges so we're just incredibly excited to be part of this rev your uh unchained fund is is part of a a near uh based dow what was it about near that made it easier to do and obviously um i'm talking to people who who work there so we know that it's uh you don't really need too much coding and you can you can figure it out so how much did you know about tech and how much uh was the fact that it was you know kind of the easiest for you to do that then led you to do it on their protocol sure um so we used astra dao to set up a doubt that we know collected the funds and the the whole like reason behind that was that we wanted to have full transparency and more so you know like multisig element to that so there was no single party that could you know manage this fund so that happened collectively we also had ilya co-founder of near joining us and you know nir has been instrumental to making that whole thing a reality from idea to get-go and to actually impacting hundreds of thousands of people you know in us and civilians and providing them humanitarian aid the most impactful thing i would say has been more so the community aspect and you know the like because of the nature of the blockchain you know it's like globalist type resistant and it's actually fast we managed to even within the first i think 16 hours we managed to raise 1.3 million and most of that funding came from near as you mentioned you know within last like a month we've reached around 7.3 million perhaps more even as we're uh discussing that and the level of commitment from the ecosystem uh and actually you know the diversity of commitment you know we we've seen people from all backgrounds you know like artists developers investors coming together to really do you know defund public good and to me that was an incredible experiment of you know human coordination that's also one of the kind of the best use case of you know blockchain technology because at the end of the day this tag is legit it's powerful and it's global and it's it's here to the public good it's awesome and it's and it's obviously for a great cause uh julian what did you expect when you uh when you started um you know i'm in the memorabilia in auction space plenty um and i think there was genuine surprise at how fast you guys were able to raise money um you obviously went up against a billionaire in the end who is willing to beat you at any price it seems but uh what what what were you most surprised about um in terms of what you guys managed to do yeah i think that the thing that was most exciting about what we did at constitution dow is we showed what was possible for people who want to come together over a shared goal and actually wanted to accomplish something that wasn't about speculation i think that's the most important thing to note here um this wasn't about saying hey we're gonna buy a copy of the constitution then we're gonna try and flip it you know five years from now or we're trying to you know get it you know have a token and and you know have the token appreciating value the reason people were participating in this and people who never created a crypto wallet before wanted to participate is because they wanted to be a part of something that had emotional resonance to them and the constitution like many artifacts um has significant you know cultural resonance um to a lot of people some some positive some negative right and there are a lot of people that participated from that perspective then of course there's also the fact that it's funny like there's there's this meme component to it right sort of the national treasure um cage type means so you have you have both of those elements that incredible importance of the the project and the resonance of the the document and then also the the fun and then you also combine that with the seven day deadline um and i think that you you start to see things happen in a much different way if we started 90 days out i think that we wouldn't have gotten the the traction and the excitement that we did when we only had seven days there were there was definitely gamification there and obviously you are constitution down not declaration of independence down so i'm sorry about that uh uh don let's talk to you um you're a little bit different because it seems like when you talk about you know taos in general and you know it's that there's really not like it's like oh there's there's no self-serving nature to it and it's not like investing in companies or has a class like y combinator alums right so like why is dow an interesting structure to you guys yeah um thanks for having us um i think dallas are really interesting specifically in the context of orange dao because it allows the community to actually own the community's efforts and so what is orange dow orange dao is the largest collective of builders in web 3. to start we have over 1 200 yc founders who are all part of this dow all who want to build in web 3. that represents 20 percent of all yc founders the craziest thing though is the yc community itself does not have an inherent mechanism to capture value it creates and so really at orange what we want to create is a community owned fund and body of things that can promote um this sort of advancement of web 3. and so for us the dow structure makes a lot of sense because it's community owned from the get-go and it aligns incentives with our members and specifically our members are all yc founders who can provide the best startups and the best deal flow to any venture investor any fund but they decide to give orange down the best deal flow because if the startup we invest in is successful the dow members are also successful because they um are able to hopefully get upside from the dao's treasury activities and so to me that yeah to me that's really interesting because when you think about dao and you think about like hey it's all altruistic um but this this actually has a financial motivation but it's everyone together yeah absolutely and again it's because when i uh refer someone to yce today and that startup gets into what i see um i perhaps get some thumbs up right and and congratulations you're a good picker but i don't inherently get the uh gp carry uh which is the profits from investing in them that yc does and so by donating all these proceeds to a dow it really realigns the incentives of the dow members but reimagines how communities can work together towards a common good and that's why we really like near because near sees that future with founders and are 100 committed in supporting our founders and so they've been so aggressive and even saying let's do one-on-one founder sessions let's create near sponsored requests for startups let's invigorate this builder community to really push not just near but we'll have three and i think that stems from the leadership of near which is alex skinner himself is a yc alumni and as a result of this i think we share a lot of values between near and orange that's awesome uh ben let's talk about the uh near protocol and the what would happen in the case of a dow previously leagues have not wanted to do citizen-raised ownership because they're worried about uh the financials sharing that sharing operating rules it seems like to some of the big leagues obviously having no one as a managing partner would seem like a disaster so why did you guys decide to go into this and what kind of assurances have have near kind of helped you with i think julian touched on this earlier this idea of community and people coming together with a common cause we've seen sports be such a facilitator for groups to come together passionately use that for good in so many different areas whether it's missions around inclusivity missions around reaching new communities that haven't been involved in this space i'll say somebody new um to web dream more broadly it is an intimidating space for those of us that don't feel like we have a great grasp on everything happening it's happening so quickly so finding a partner like near that we thought could help us navigate what is going to be a very unique and uh it's a challenging in the best way challenging process to figure out how we do something that hasn't been done before in terms of a dow ownership what you have is two partners that are willing to try to change uh what i think hasn't worked some of the traditional sports ownership models so it's from a financial output to julian's point earlier but more from a how do you own the opportunity and ideas around the team what does the team stand for how do we bring this to life across across purpose-led initiatives around the world uh obviously there are all the financial uh opportunities that go into uh team ownership more broadly but for us we're really focused on what does this mean from scratch how do you create something that these uh these collective uh community members get to design themselves so that's everything from the logo on the boat to the partners they're working with the athletes they have you know our our ceo uh and co-founder sir russell cootes is hoping this this is one of the first uh all female sailing teams in the world competing at the top platform so opportunities to really reimagine things that might have run into a traditional roadblock in other places is where we see the opportunity to work with near to really rethink some of this from scratch i love the choose your own adventure that's part of this um as a as a kid who used to read those books rev uh what would you say is the faith in the fact that um you know you guys are set up as a dow the rules are clear and the objectives are clear especially with the funds to ukraine uh when people are donating to charities they're also they're often thinking about well i don't know up front you know how much percentage the charity is getting or how it works or how fast it could get there so how much would you say the structure of the dao has contributed to people's faith um in the platform and and whether that has uh led to kind of more money flowing into you as opposed to other funds that are earmarked for the ukraine yeah um thank you that's a great question i think one of the problems especially when you know and then in times of crisis is the trust element that we're putting into a lot of orgs and when it comes to vector orgs uh they're more so you know as they're like close sourced applications like you kind of see what's in front of them but you don't know what's happening behind and there's a lot of you know trust questions trust related questions that you might have when it comes to you know blockchains and thousands especially you know like the the example that we have with near uh setting up that was a no-brainer to us as you know crypto natives and just understanding that we can do something more meaningful transparent and just straightforward with our community and actually do that with the community for example we had some some of the decision making aspect just run by or led by community and one of those was uh vetting you know organizations that we donated to so with a given block we had like you know matching pool of 300k overall that we donated to some orgs and we're just starting that because we didn't want to donate you know let's say full amount because we wanted to you know segregate areas of funding and more so achieve max level of transparency and more so efficiency of these funds used and what we found out is there's a lot of people that try me trying you know to impersonate other people scam you know they even you know just uh create a fake documents which we actually seen a lot just because of you know systems place that we built of all the filtering and what we what we actually made by the end of the day is we partnered with one of the ukrainian banks to enable you know issuance of online cards where we'll be able to have crypto streams of you know funding seen to you know that will flow to let's say their wallet and from that folder there will be you know using some of our partners uh they will be able to off-ramp that to fiat so we'll be able to achieve you know as i would say max level of transparency that you can ever achieve especially in crisis period let's say where you found ten thousands of you know hundreds of thousands of people depending on the scale of the funding per week uh of specific demographics let's say women women with kids families perhaps elder people etc and that could all happen in an instance just because of the block changes because of true nature of full transparency and being on chain and for us that's been instrumental in the way we've been separating us ourselves from a lot of other phones and i think when it comes to it down one thing thing that i really appreciate is being able to participate in the dow and that separates you know a doubt much higher on the scale of transparency versus any other you know like that two organization because in a doubt in a true you know doubt you actually can participate your voice actually matters as community members doesn't matter who you are what is your background and that's also comes back to this notion of inclusivity and that you actually matter julian um as i said the constitution dao and and what you guys did i think probably hastened the speed of dows in general um even though you didn't win um so what did you learn about uh what happened um we talked about the timeline being important but what do you think the best practices are of structuring a dow no matter what you're going into yeah i mean i think look i think the tools enable the the goal that you want to go after right not not the other way around i think that you know we you know had had the web 3 tooling not existed and you know it's it's like the tooling that we used was good but it wasn't it wasn't amazing like it's early days um you know had that not existed i think it would have been harder if not impossible to you know to make that attempt that we made um and i think that ultimately it's like you shouldn't be thinking about hey what what what can we do because we have those tools like hey what can we do and like can these tools help us right um like i think that you know for instance orange dow or you know acquiring a sports team like these types of initiatives are things that you would have wanted to do without web3 technology like it just so happens that like this is the stuff that is enabling that to take place right these ways of core human coordination and collaboration and um you know coordinating fundraisers and things like that that's what that's what's really exciting here and i think it's like not sort of looking for a nail you know not a hammer looking for a nail it's like it's like hey like what what are we trying to accomplish and like wouldn't that be cool if we could accomplish that okay what kind of tools exist if the tools don't exist it's time to build them right if we want to accomplish these goals that's amazing that's that's a very interesting answer and obviously near providing those tools don i want to follow up with what you said um you know the fact that near is actually you know pushing to get projects done how much does that mean to you as as someone using their platform it is paramount orange aspires to be the digital nation of builders right so in web 2 a lot of people came to silicon valley to try to start a web 2 company our goal is it's no longer a physical location but it's a state of mind and it's in the metaverse and as a result of that we really like to partner with near because they get that they get that opportunity is everywhere that building is global and that frankly um making nears architecture and near technical specs very similar to like almost web 2 adaptation is great that's a killer insight where if they can onboard um a bunch of web2 engineers and founders that's really how you can get to your adoption why because it's an innovation flywheel the easier it is for builders to enter the newer ecosystem the easier it is for them to build tools for the near ecosystem which brings in more web developers and projects who are developing and building in the ecosystem these grants have been committed to for about a little over 15 million through the development cycles once they receive their grant another important development is that we've had eight in the near ecosystem and really the excitement that um","url":"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZLYkQG0d38&t=1126s"},{"start_seconds":1133,"text":"external uh pools of capital have seen to date to really support ecosystems growth also importantly we have 84 projects that are currently fundraising that have developed and built out sort of their models to a level of maturity where we think it would be really interesting uh to support them and so more to come
