Hey. Hey. Hey. Heat. Heat. Oh, sorry. Sorry. We got just uh a hiccup here. Welcome everyone to this new special edition of the Devop live the Zcash and near intense hackathon is live started yesterday and to talk about it we got this special guest uh the Leos Zcash Deell Paku welcome Paku Hi well thank you very much for having me here I'm really really happy to uh be a part of of this great hackathon Um I'm very very uh um delighted by near intents and uh enjoying them so far. So I think this will bring a lot of new things and amazing uh projects. Thank you so much. We will talk a little about some details. The hackathon started yesterday. Uh will and the deadline is uh on March 29. The submission deadline is on 29th and let me share uh the link. If they want to join the hackathon, there is $7k in prizes. So it's a great opportunity and we will deep dive in what are the tracks that we want to the hackers to build on and what ccash are looking for uh these agents. So, let me show a little about the the TA website. Okay. So, if you go to the to the link, you will see that you can register here. You can loging in to join. And these are uh the prices for a agents. For Cash, we got uh first price of 15K, second place 7.5K and 2.5 for the third one. and the process repeated for private defy and for crosschain interpability. So Becku, can you talk a little about Zcash? You were the first cryptocurrency to leverage ZK uh for encryption of private peer-to-peer transactions, right? Yes. Yes. Ccash was the first production like mass mass scale uh production deployment of of CK Snarks and CK Bruce uh back in 2016 by a team led by Zuko Wilcox. Um and uh the uh ECC company was the leading team uh of that effort and yes um there are there have been series of breakthroughs and and this first CK snark were not really performant and now things have evolved to a point that we have uh the ability to generate this serial knowledge proofs in in cell phones and like even even low um low performance cell phones. So um there has been a tremendous uh improvement in performance of these proofs um along the years um with the introduction of the sapling circuit and now the the orchard circuit. Um so it's it's been an incredible journey. Um and it's only possible because uh Ccash has like tremendous people like geniuses uh very humble geniuses. So um I'll I'll um you know um give them the credit. Awesome. And and can you talk a little about the the the near intense integration? Where's the experience of ours and what you want to to achieve and to leverage with near intense? Well, I think that um the near intent comes to uh to fill some some um void in the Cash space which which is uh deck abilities like um like before um uh near intense you didn't have many like easy to use alternatives to actually swap um Ze um in a decentralized way. Um and there is of course the the decret um decks which supports Ccash but it's far more complicated than using your intents and uh I think the it is an experience that Ccashers were a long waiting for and it has been really well received. Um to be honest like it took it took many of us by surprise and it was a very beautiful surprise. It was like it felt like Christmas, you know, that I that's the way I can universally um describe it, you know, at least for the people that celebrate Christmas like some some of that kind of festivity, some of that uh good surprise that lives gives you and and so far we've been I I personally been enjoying like using it and and I'm really thrilled to and eager to see what people will um come up with in these hackathons and what new ideas and new projects will be created offering a a better user experience seamless keeping the the privacy and the security of that's awesome uh we will have another guest today uh Slava from our labs will join us briefly to talk about near intense to to deep dive in more detail but I would like to to for if you can share Paku what are the tracks of this hackathon and and let's try to to provide some examples of or some ideas of what are you exciting about to find in this hackathon it's not like sharing ideas for what to build but what what is the the wow effect that you're looking for in this hackathon Uh we started maybe we can start with the AI agents for Zcash. Um I think that um yes the AI bots uh I I guess that there are a lot of opportunities to um to generate agents that can um transact uh with Zcash and I don't know um do I don't know like leverage uh spreads or or generate um revenue to um um find opportunities for traders and and also I believe that these agents if they are privacy-minded um that would be a terrific breakthrough like uh because with Ccash you can operate both in a transparent and a shielded way and you can choose degrees of privacy you you want to achieve. So it it would be very useful not only to um maybe have agents like may maybe other chains have but that being as a Ccash agent that it also incorporates the notion of of the degrees of privacy that the Ccash protocol provides and and that it can make assessments on on parameters that the uh the people launching these agents want to want to set like I want or maybe the full transparent trades or I would like to prioritize trades that provide this degree of privacy etc. Okay. Interesting. Thinking beyond the the assistant agent, right? like like help you with the user experience. What are the kind of features that do you think agents can uh provide regarding transactions with SEG and uh or boosting the security of the transaction? What what are the ideas that you are waiting for for for discovering this hackathon? Um I would think that um one of the challenges would be trying to leverage uh shielded transactions. Um we have like Ccash has a a is a as as a fork of Bitcoin has a a neat uh and I wouldn't say seamless but uh more easier like easier integration with Bitcoin like systems like um and that's the integration that we've seen so far in in many of the centralized exchanges where they leverage the the Bitcoin utilities to actually hook up Zika to their systems and it would be interesting to see agents that not only can uh use that part of a protocol but they also focus on um shield transactions using the archer pool um sap the sapling pool and um you know transacting using the the latest features of the Zcash protocol and and these specifications like unified addresses and and so on. I see. I I would like to invite uh Slava the lead de from our labs to to talk about join the conversation of this uh this track for the hackathon uh proven some expertise how to leverage near intent. Uh just a moment like let me welcome Slava. Hello guys. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Uh we were we were talking about the tracks uh of the hackathon and we started with the the use of agents for Zcash uh how to how to improve uh the security of the transaction going beyond the you know like the assistant agents and also uh Paku were talking about actually the the second track that is private defy the shielded swap apps, right? So, um can you can you talk a little about first about near intense for those who are not aware of and how do you see like the hackers could integrate near intense uh to Zcash? Yeah, that's that's interesting question. So, let's start first of all with the near intense. So near intense if you're not aware what is this you can actually try it yourself you just can visit near intense do or websites I believe let me find the link for you I second share what is this yeah I will uh so far I will show right now the dogs for near intense yeah you You of course can go and read through the docs, but overall it's a crosschain decentralized exchange based on top of new protocol and chain signatures. So it makes it possible for you to actually access the liquidity over a bunch of the most popular blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum or Arbitum or Salana there and just trade your tokens efficiently. uh overall it's based upon a more general stack called just called intense layer near. So uh in principle you will be able in the future as we are like uh imagining it in our heads uh you'll be able to introduce new types of tasks like intents on the blockchain to be fulfilled by different types of solvers but uh because of the uh like most common action and like utility of the blockchain nowadays it's financial uh operations. We started with the financial swaps basically swapping your tokens and fulfilling these intense. Um that's why we basically have crosschain decentralized exchange called near intense on new protocol uh where we are leveraging the chain obstruction uh to give you access uh like a seamless access to the liquidity between the different blockchains at one place. So that's like the basic idea. You can actually go and try it yourself. deposit some tokens from centralized exchange from other blockchains. It doesn't matter like pro like if you have some tokens on Ethereum or Bitcoin you can just deposit uh it to the near intents even without having a wallet. You can even use the pass keys there. So uh the platform allows you to create a new pass key and you won't even need to create a new wallet for example to operate with it. It will be just a signature uh like cryptography signature which will allow you to sign the transactions and transactions will just execute and you'll do what you want them to do. That's awesome. And actually that take us to the to the third track that is crosschains interperability. uh the idea that you you know like you can use SE for transaction across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Sol other tokens. And there's something interesting in this that you can build a project and apply for all the tracks. So there's no need to to pick one and as the conversation goes all the tracks that are somehow interwined like you can use um agents uh for your private defy project of shielded swaps and of course find a solution for for crosschain interperability. So one thing that that I was asking Paku is what would be the wo effect that you haven't seen so far and what are the kind of you know like blockers or innovations that you are looking for in these kind of hackathons. Uh just it's not about giving away ideas but offering some you know like beacon for the hackers to to put their efforts and and try to imagine a new kind of product that could leverage all uh all this technology for these tracks. Yes. Uh I think that there are a few ideas um and uh my experience with uh the ccash portion of intense is that it there is some room for improvement and and innovation when when it comes to integrating the ccash chain with the web browser. We have um a web framework that allows uh people to um use a wet wallet um that is JavaScript uh comp uh cross compiled with wasum on uh using that uses the rust tool chain um from the Ccash libraries and that was recently developed by chain safe and it's being used by the meta mask snap team of chain up to create a meta must snap that's being in the develop right now. So the the tool we have at the moment is the the framework itself. Um but having you know when you for example you can use um an extension or for example the brave uh the brave wallet which is integrated to uh to brave browser to um put your tokens into the near intense UI and you will see everything like pretty straightforward. But then when it comes to to Ccash you you there there there is not such uh seamless integration and and one of the options I I see and well factors in terms of like it might be some not novel at all for uh web 35 but for a ccash which is like an OG project an OG chain um having seamless browser integration it's something that that Cashers have been wanting to have and it will be uh something convenient and never um experienced by the regular Casher that we mostly use like either like desktop wallets or or or mobile wallets that are um but no not much like browser wallets or JavaScript based wallets. What? That's good. That could be one thing. And then um also the ability to deposit shield funds would be something uh I don't think that is something easy to pull off. Um but it that would be definitely something that will um enhance the the privacy of of people using the the Ccash uh uh side of the near intents. Um because today when you want to swap um you need to send your deposit your funds in the trans transparent uh uh address which um it's it's not uh it it doesn't give away any privacy in terms of what the protocol allows. um because you might have your funds shielded and then you send to that address and the um there is no way for an observer to know um where the funds came from when it's deposited to that transparent address. But having the ability of have of of of choosing a shielded receiver for a end would be something um great to have. But I don't know in terms of like um the infrastructure if that's possible to develop by a third party or not. But that's something that would be awesome to see at least in a proof of concept. Um um that that could be an idea. And then um probably uh yeah anything I think that shield swaps would be uh incredible. Um but it it also I'm thinking in terms of like the the window of time of the hackathon things that are feasible to to do in a in a PC way. Um, I think that the the inclusion of shielded addresses and and supporting all the kinds of uh pools that Ccash has could be something very uh useful for the for the platform itself and be also like a kind of like incredible thing to pull off. By the way, let me show the the catch documentation. you will find it uh scrolling here in the in the bottom of the screen. And Slavat, can can you also provide what are your thoughts? Sure. What are your thoughts about uh Yeah, of course. Of course. I just what will be the WOW effect for you? Yeah, I I just wanted to ask Paku about uh Dcash a bit uh in terms of like I know that it's a bitcoin fork uh and the question is is uh the you like regular bitcoin tools like bitcoin gs for forming up the transaction is usable with zcash. Um I would say that many libraries uh Bitcoin libraries can be modified to work things out with a transparent side of Ccash. Mhm. Um but there are also um great frameworks to actually create and build transactions um uh using um Rust native tools um on the Ccash repo itself. Yeah, I'm just curious if you have a compatibility with the chain signatures near on the dcash site because I'm not sure about this. Like I know that Mir is compatible with Bitcoin. Uh so chain signatures basically they allow you to derive different uh private public key pairs in a secure way uh via the multi-party computation service which mirror also provides and it means that with using your mirror account you can sign up the transactions in different uh blockchains like bitcoin and like in this case if uh we would be able like to use the same signatures like same cryptography as on the bitcoin on dcash and relays the transactions signed with your derived near account. It will mean that basically you will be able to provide smart contracts on Zcash and it should be really interesting because I believe as a Bitcoin fork you don't have smart contracts and uh via chain signatures it's possible to use near or Aurora for example as an EVM as a runtime basically and to build your business logic for Zcash network in your EVM contract for example which could be really interesting in terms of P uh for the hackathon. Yeah, I will I will have to to check that and to actually give an a proper answer I guess. Um but it like as a rule of thumb um any Bitcoin tool that you have you can modify to use the transparent um uh part of the protocol. If I would be a participant, I would definitely try it and uh would go down that way also because it's kind of it gives an interesting uh how to say like it gives a innovative vibe to your work, you know, because you actually doing what not a lot of people have tried to do building a smart contract and non smart track smart contract uh compatible network. Um it could be pretty interesting. Uh I have done that with Moses safe and Aurora lately and I used safe on Bitcoin. Um actually I can share an article about that if you are curious about this. uh it could be pretty interesting also to take a look at that example and I believe that uh it could be also a really interesting thing to try. Um like overall if uh I will kind of try to explain what we have on the plate here on this hackathon. We have new intense we have Zcash network we have near AI agents and we have Auroras in EVM if you are coming from the EVM ecosystem maybe if you want to use solidity contracts. Uh so now you kind of should think about how you can join up all of these pieces to build your own product in the most like creative innovative way possible. And uh of course like a lot of robots are open here. I also shared with Hassan probably Hass will share with you the link about shade agents on mir. Uh so those are like AI agents in here which are executed inside the trusted executed environment. So it means that you are actually sure about what is executed inside these agents. So it makes your uh product more secure for your users. Uh so that you'll be sure that no malicious activities happening there and exactly what you see uh will be happen inside the code. But nevertheless uh I mean by looking at all of these ingredients you kind of can see like that one track which I have mentioned the smart contacts on Zcash for example or maybe for example like using neari agent to do some smart stuff with Zcash like with swaps on near intense for example. Uh we actually have presented a near AI agent lately trading on the near intense. Let me find the link for it. Where is this? It's called Vir AI and uh you can actually try it out on Twitter. Uh I will send a link also one moment uh with the example of how it could be called. Basically what it was doing you just me you need to mention it in Twitter and say something like hey I want to invest some money uh and it will calculate the most effective portfolio for you like for example to invest like $100 or $1 and it will lock it like for one day. So your investment will work for you for one day and then it will be withdrawn to your account giving you either profit or loss. uh after it. Uh but it's a really cool example and actually have a code with which you can tinker around and play uh take a look at how it was done uh the integration itself and reuse it in your hackathon projects overall uh and maybe include the cache there for your um particular usage or like goals. Yeah. So it's like I I believe you need you will need to to join like a few things here like the privacy Zcash provides uh plus crosschain possibilities of the near intense and near protocol itself. So if you will be able to join all all of these things plus maybe AI agent you your project will uh will be on track to win something in this hackathon. I guess like the the cap that you can win if you win the three first prizes is 45k. Just saying. Maybe I should take part in but I would like that just just to share A couple of things like how how what is the evaluation criteria on on this on this hackathon? Um, of course the innovation and the creativity on on your project and and this seems silly but we want to see new projects. another hackathons. We we received some repos that are quite old actually and the people don't hack during the hackathon and this is this is not the best opportunity for that because it's quite specific what we are looking for. Uh but please update your repos create something new and crazy for us. And of course the technical execution uh it should be well integrated functional uh and of course secure uh the privacy and the security is is the top criteria especially working with Zcash uh and intense and you know provide a good user experience and and find something that is you know impactful um for both for for for Seg and and for near uh I want to I want to show a link with the support channels. So uh hackbox uh is powering this hackathon and we create a a dedicated channel with the dev rails for this hackathon. you please join uh the the Tan channel if you have any doubt any question you know don't don't wait for the last moment there is no special price for you know solving your blockers by yourself. So if you spend more than 10 minutes trying to figure out something just jump into the you know it could be the Telegram group. Uh we're also showing the the Zcash Teleer group and the discord. So again there is no special like you know a star sticker for for that you figure out everything by yourself. Jump in uh ask question. We got the people ready to help you. Uh and also just for discussion if you want to you know like share your thoughts on what you're trying to build and and try to check not not not just looking for validation but to check like if your idea is in tune of what we're looking for that's also awesome. Uh we will have another uh live stream next next week uh just for you know like troubleshooting debugging your projects and also if you want to pitch your idea and you want to you know check uh with the team who are you building uh also join uh this hackathon um and actually we add some comments. Uh if you're watching this live stream and you got any question, please join the comments and we will check that uh by the end of the of the hackathon. Uh Paku uh I will I will ask some tips uh that you may have for hackers. Uh this is something that we always do. LA is aware of that like how to what are the ideas that you can share with the hackers to help them to you know actually build and succeed because we don't there is a lot of people that can't complete their project that they don't submit and that that's terrible because like you you invest a lot of time thinking about and and coding and and how to help them to to actually deliver uh on the deadline. Okay. Well, the first uh thing uh I can share is um um we have this awesome dev tool that was developed by ECC core uh developers. They're it's basically an internal tool they used and that uh it was like so so powerful to them that they they decided to turn it into a project to help other developers. is called a Ccash dev tool and it's a CLI stateless CLI um to rapidly test things on on locally on your on your computer um on your dev environment uh using Rust. So it's a good tool to uh for anything that you want to uh build using ccash. Um um and then something for hackathons is not not don't try to um build everything at once and and have like this big reveal kind of thing. just um since you have a a like a very fixed uh amount of time, try to think quickly and and and model your thought in in terms that things that you can achieve in the next few hours. Um, and don't have like many side quests at once. Like don't have a lot of things ongoing. Even even if you're a team of of many people, try to focus on what you can do in the next few hours and and iterate over that. So even though and and try to first like communicate your idea uh and try to do your like your pitch have very clear that everyone your team has a clear vision of what you want to build. Um so you don't have like different expectations of what need of the scope of the project and then work in small iterations. So whenever the the final whistle uh sounds, however it it catches you, you will have something to show and you won't be, oh at three hours left or eight hours left, I'm I'm going to just drink this gallon of coffee and finish everything up. um that won't h maybe it does happen because maybe you're incredible developer but um you're if you're an incredible developer that you can achieve an Olympic uh uh development uh achievement like that like closing a project in a few hours um then if you organize an incremental things that you can manage and then your time will be much more useful And your effort will bring more results because you can always if you iterate in small increments. Even if you your next your current increments doesn't work as you have expected, you haven't invested that much time that you can safely roll back and try something else, pivot to something else. If you try to get everything at once, it just takes one of those pieces to not work to bring your whole project. So, u my advice is to uh is basically um that take it into small chunks and work your way um up the ladder. So every every time you do like a small milestone of your project, you can you you can just like run it and have something to show. Um and and you will be like also more um empowered and and um you will have more security into be into taking more risks into trying more risky stuff and going to unknown grounds with a better uh foundation uh because your previous commit did do something you wanted to achieve. That's a great advice. And and also this this kind of hackathon is quite interesting because like if you compare with the in real life hackathon when you got two days or two and a half days fully dedicated you know chugging coffee and and and energy drinks and that kind of stuff. In this case, you have two weeks to hack and your pace depends of what you, you know, your schedule, your time. You can put a lot of time. You can, you know, be a part-time hacker or just on the weekends or whatever. Uh, that's a great advice to to fit for every kind of hacker. Uh but keep in mind this like is if you have hack in in this real life events you got two weeks here uh and you got the death um ready for you all these two weeks. So it's just like the same of this in real life event but for two weeks. So it's a lot of time to have you can take your time to to think in this kind of road map that Baku is is talking about that you can you know achieve uh different milestones on your project uh and scale up from your idea uh and Slava if you can share in the middle of your horror film that you are sharing with us uh if you can share your thoughts for hackathon on uh what kind of tip or advice that you can give them. Yeah, sorry. My laptop is just almost out of charge, so I'm trying to find the charger to connect it back so I would be here and stay connected. Awesome. Awesome. So again, like what what are your final thoughts for Hackathon in this occasion? Um because there is some complexity in this aceton right like so what would be your advice on this don't like of course you have complexities here but don't over complicate like stay as simple as possible as clear as possible like it's better to have a simple idea with a good realization which could be evolved into something bigger than like creating something really big, really complex but with bad uh realization actually. So try just to create a small proof of concept which will be useful. Just do something small and useful for real people and your project will have like better perspectives in the future. Awesome. And I know that we put some FOMO about applying for all the tracks and you know like when it all and everything, but um those are good advice uh for you to keep in mind and build step by step. Any final thoughts, Beccu? Yes. Um I think that um some advices from u the 30th uh Devcon uh back some some time ago is that uh there the host of the uh hacking um tracks was advised um that wasn't in person though. So it advises people to have showers to use sleep into in your advantage. Um the brain does a lot of work while you're you're sleeping. So if you're try if you're struggling with something or if you're trying to learn something new, sleep on it. Maybe you pull an allnighter and you think that you have done uh a lot of advances and that you have learned a lot but then you did that over exhaustion. So maybe a lot of that will go away the moment you uh reboot your machine. Right? So you sleep use the the the sleep cycle into your advantage. um your brain will you know accommodate things will tidy up the room while you're sleeping and the concepts you might be struggling with at night will be cleared in in the morning. Um also uh take care of yourself. Don't overwork yourself. Um also if you're feeling overwhelmed with things always raise your hand, reach for help. Uh, and when you're stuck with something, don't wait. Um, sometimes when you you're explaining a problem to somebody else, just writing a fake email or a fake GitHub issue, it forces you to explain some a problem you are having in the terms that somebody else that doesn't know anything about it will understand it. And many solutions come up when you're doing that. So um use all your resources at hand even like creating a fake GitHub issue for the problem you're maybe it is a bug you're reporting and maybe is it is not and you just like cancel the GitHub creation you have your own solution there so I think that those are my um wrapping uh thoughts very good luck to every team here uh we are exciting to see what you will come up with um I hope that we uh can um also benefit from you you folks uh going through our documentation um things that you see that are missing. If you want to add them, we're very much welcome if you want to suggest things that we we could improve in terms of how to make uh people's life easier in our platforms. uh that's very much welcome as well and well we'll see each other uh this this next uh few days and and have fun. The most important thing is to have fun. Awesome. Something that you want to add? I I love that advice. I love that advice. I mean uh that's exactly what I'm usually advising people on hackathons especially during the last days when you know people are too much into the rush too much into the panic and like their mind is racing all the time. I just say to them like go outside, spend some time outside, touch the trees, you know, touch the ground, like smell the air, just relax, everything will be fine. And drink mate if you're from Argentina. Yeah, drink mate. That's a great advice from from uh Manza from Balanc Argentina. So, yes, that's a great advice. Awesome. Uh way better than energy drinks, man. Uh by the way, there's a a couple of comments, but just saying hi. Alex is Paulina saying hola Alexis and San. So this is just the beginning. The hackathon started yesterday. Um don't get blocked. Take a walk, sleep on it. And there if there is no epiphany by the end of it, join the telegram group, join the discord and ask. We got this brilliant people ready to help you. So it's like okay, don't wait for it. Yeah. Good a strategy would be like lurking the forums of of like near Ccash and see what people are like complaining about, what their problems are and what their wishes are and maybe you can grab ideas from that like you can build um towards ideas of the communities you're trying to build for the demand. Yeah. Or maybe use the AI as your advisor just as well. Yes. Yeah. these forums and ask some questions. Just talk. That's an excellent idea. Ask the AI to do the homework. Yes. Yeah, it helps sometimes. Not not I mean sometimes with uh a more narrow technologies, especially if these are too fresh AI cannot just handle them like I've tried a couple of times. Maybe it requires more job with like feeding the right information into the model itself. But uh this too fresh stuff uh usually models are are not capable like to keep the track of everything. So it's easier just to read through. Yeah. Awesome. Well uh the time is up. So thank you so much uh Baku. Thank you so much Slav again. Thank you. Uh we will keep in touch on the channels this two week uh these two weeks and next week uh we get a new defo live special for the s gash and near intense hackathon. So stay tuned. Follow our channels on and for our accounts on Twitter could be hackbox HQ near DevHub Aurora and Zcash and keep updated. Thank you so much. Thank you all. Good luck. Have a good one. Good luck.
