excited for you guys to join us uh we are getting ready to have a really exciting episode I know I say that every week but I'm really excited about this one we have the co-founder of mint base who's going to come here and not just talk about all the awesome things they've been doing over the years but they got a new announcement coming out that we're going to talk about they're doing some amazing stuff with AI and chain abstraction so we're gonna get into all of that so for developers like this is a great episode to start to learn of some of the different things that are going on and can be built on the near ecosystem uh we're going to talk a little bit about some of the things also that are going on the ecosystem after that we'll get into some news and some other things and of course the Tweet of the week but first let's get started let's bring up Nate hey Nate thanks for joining us today thanks for having me thanks so let's just for people who don't know who you are don't know what mint base is can you first just kind of introduce of like how you got started and like what mint base is on near yeah long story short so been into the the blockchain space for a long time and also I just had a baby uh two days ago so I'm a little exhausted but I'm excited get get all my energy back up again for this so long story short uh I've been I bought my first Bitcoin in 2014 uh I got into fintech for a bit um swipe a card at Starbucks we'll give you fractional shares of publicly traded stock as a reward I was the tech director of that company that did that I get a coffee I get 0.002 shares of actually like publicly traded stock as a reward uh playing around with all of that technology realizing how disgusting that was working with like different weird back office companies sending CSV files around all over the place I realized this should just be a blockchain like just you know here's a ledger let's distribute so got into eth uh at a buck 14 and then quit everything in 2017 18 started mint base uh and we were always sort of the leaders of pioneering utility nfts uh did the first ticketing for Berlin blockchain week which got us nft NYC ticketing in 20 realized ethereum just was never meant to scale so we did what everyone else didn't do which was rewrite everything from scratch to near uh we believe sharding is the future and I think right now everyone is starting to go oh wait maybe we can't process the world's transactions on one massive machine uh and we can go into that in a bit I mean there's so much I could talk about but for me it's all about the long game right yeah yeah and then uh so hopefully that that was a quick intro yeah yeah no I appreciate that I yeah there's certainly a lot of things we can go to but let's kind of go up to like where you guys are today and I know you've been focusing a lot on some of the AI and chamption stuff can tell like where you guys what you guys are working on right now yeah it's quite funny so if you read the mint based white paper we wrote in 2020 it's almost identical to what we're still doing today uh and I know everyone's getting really hyped around Ai and I'm excited about lot of the AI stuff we're doing but the reality is it's just the Superhuman power to help us get the true Vision over the line and it's going to help us do way more than I ever thought possible so we're uh basically we believe every transaction can be built by Ai and soon AGI every single transaction when you think about the complexities of what wallets are doing the reality is all they're doing is building a transaction it's creating a Json object connecting to an RPC spitting that to it and making something happen and now we've been and this isn't something we just started you know a couple weeks ago now that everyone's fully hyped on AI this is something we created two Chach BT plugins uh in August and now after cranking on that the entire time we're sort of going okay now we're now we're now we're working with fire yeah for sure I mean you guys certainly were there kind of early on and one of the things I think as a developer and what you guys are trying to do is I think it's really important when Jordan was on here a few weeks ago is that you're not just like building products like you are actually building stuff that other developers can use too right yeah we're and we're not just building one thing right we look at something like cly and I kind of get jealous for them sometimes because it's just one product they just one thing that's like make my calendar exist and make it stupid easy for anyone to get onto that calendar building everything from uh secondary markets to Creator Suites to wallets to developer templates to uh AI transaction building bits it's a it's a lot right but we have to build a lot because a lot of this stuff doesn't exist so yep why I guess like where does the impetus for using AI to start building out transactions come from just because it's more efficient in the long term I I think like as a developer you know how this is right you can start building something you're not really sure what you can do once you do that but once you've learned those few things you kind of go oh crap now I know how to do these things now I can do these 70 things once I can do those 70 things I can do these thousands of things with AI it's like okay great we built uh and from a single prompt like mint base is complex you can mint you can deploy contracts you can list you can buy you can add minors just like a dow and we realized we can do all that from a prompt right right so instead of spending you know weeks of developer time creating a sweep floor mechanism you know with a little sliding bar and all this stuff you can just go into a prompt and say on the smart contract this uh buy all the nfts for less than two two near and then you're done like you've built that transaction through a prompt and I don't want to spend all that time doing that and then we kind of took a step back and went okay can we create a defi swap mechanism in the same regard and that's when we're kind of going oh shoot uh now I think that we're entering a new field of our team of 15 devs can cross so many different boundaries right yeah I mean it sounds like you guys are taking a almost like a different Paradigm towards what actual user interaction with blockchain is as well because yeah you're saving developer time and you don't have to build up that slider tool but at the same time here it's like the possibilities that open up for users really become almost endless absolutely and then once you start adding chain abstraction to it and you're not just Bound by the near ecosystem that's when the jet fuel starts to get added right it's uh okay now we can start entering manifolds world like quite quickly and easily you know we we're doing that uh we can start jumping into a lot of different worlds and right uh then when you SDK ify it all then you're another different world so as an engineer my my side uh I think it's critical for the space to really get adoption once we get the engineers really involved uh and that that's where we've sort of the heart of Min Bas has been around the engineers uh from the beginning right right right so coming with with that aspect are most of the things that you're building right now focused on allowing developers to be more productive to allow users to use the stuff on Min base or are you trying to kind of hit both paths at once it's a chicken and egg so the reality is I think the real sexy thing of where M base is actually heading it doesn't sound super sexy every time I pitch it to people they're like great tell us more about the AI it's the relayer I think the relayer is the most significant piece of our tooling that is just starting to make that onboarding so seamless and so the point of that is uh that's that is where I think the the the dev onboarding is coming in and why we're hitting the engineering is because they're hitting so many chicken and eggs right right so we come from the nftc platform and we kept doing these activations and we kept getting murdered with so many issues right we did VIP tickets uh for parties we did nearon tickets I mean it always got stopped with okay now I need point 01 near to you know redeem my ticket and we would be at the front door sending people 0.1 near to go do something so where we're at with like the developer tools and the relayer is how do we solve all these chicken and eggs because you can't go to let's say a big brand and say okay let's fund a relayer and do an activation and then they say great give us some engineers and we'll get it going in NE the next six months you can't just build an application right so this is where the developer templates come in we could say well for this and within 10 minutes we can get an activation going you fund the relayer and then all of a sudden you're you're doing these things so there's your Dev template side there's your um the relayer side that all gets activated from from the different angles from all of our activations kind of coming into one one bit makes sense uh can we just kind of better clarify case people don't know what actually is a relayer in regards to like blockchain and everything else so here's we did uh we're doing an activation with the ICC coming up for the World Cup uh this should be quite a large one there they have a rewards uh platform the international cricket Council if you guys aren't familiar with Cricut uh we have nothing to do with nfts for this activation nothing not not one piece of nft is going to get put into this but we're going to be the backbone of this activation we are the wallet that enables their folks to create accounts which costs 0 Z whatever near uh to get rewards issued to them uh from interacting with different things and all these people they don't have any near right you can't say go to an exchange if you want to claim this reward right so what the relayer is is a brand like ICC can put funds into a relayer and say on a granular level I want to sponsor these specific functions on a smart contract it's not just any like let's say we do ticketing for a big event uh if you want to have uh free transactions for the minting and issuing and redeeming at the door then they can say I want to do that but I don't want to pay for users to do trans like transfer and do secondary sales right because then you just lose all your money so the relay is just a mechanism that says okay how do we get people to participate in our blockchain activation when we know they don't have any near and only 4.2% of the human population has crypto let alone you know near who knows what that number is so it's it's really sort of the onboarding uh and we've put this into action our drop mechanism uh is focused on this because we know these folks don't have any near so helping pay for that without meeting that that barrier has been extremely helpful for us where do you so that's obviously cost that you guys are taking on is that something though that like you see as just an always there as kind of like a loss leader or is that something you eventually figure out how do we make this as part of our business uh plan yeah that's the demo it's the let's get people to first because the goal is eventually everything's going to be tokenized right receipts tickets rewards everything in my my opinion all of ticketing is going to be uh in nft eventually yeah so for us we really have to not only solve the chicken and egg but also kind of give people the aha moment of like oh my God we can put QR codes up on billboards and people can claim these nfts you know just driving around without knowing what blockchain is once we've done that then we can start getting into the bigger picture of okay now sponsor the relayer for your own activation on your own smart contracts because we're sort of viewing uh smart contracts as uh serverless functions right for sell is kicking kicking butt forell all they are is just a wrapper to a AWS so they're and then what their goal is is that people can deploy a bunch of apps and for us it's more of the same sort of thing we kind of see ourselves as the versel of uh of blockchain where you're going to have multiple smart contracts that you're going to be managing and then figuring out what portions to fund and what portions are doing well uh how to deploy those smart contracts on whatever chain that they're going to be deploying on that's the that's that's sort of the the direction of why give a free one it's the the very beginning of does it work for us great now we can go and figure it out for other folks makes a ton of sense yeah I I think I love the thought of just like where you get people in the door so they they see the power of it because the sales part I think is not just on like the end yeah we want end users to adopt but you really need Enterprises and brands everybody else to understand like what it actually looks like and take away probably what you've seen a 100 times now or more than that of like the fear of like oh I'm you know the it's too complex people don't understand what it is people just hear crypto and they think scam or whatever else where this is like no no no this is better infrastructure to actually provide a better user experience in the long run trust me it's every activation anyone has done in blockchain up to this point let's say a big foundation gives a bunch of money away to someone to go do something it's just wasting money for the infrastructure that we had up until now is a giant waste of money what are you g to do give them money then maybe they build a big application that could be successful and then maybe they reach 4.2% of the human population it's it's just flat uh right but now it's like within the last couple months I think our wallet is finally getting to a spot where you know I onboard people and their brains just melt I say hey do you want to claim an nft and they immediately say no it's too hard I want to download a thing I got to go get near or I gotta go get to all these different pieces and then within less than a minute I'm having them claim nfts once I'm past that battle then we can start talking about Ai and everything else right and that's the other discussion with AI it's like okay great now we're doing transaction building but how the hell are you going to onboard people to do those transaction building mechanisms well we have the wallet that comes in so every piece of our puzzle that we built today isn't is all going to come is all coming together and unfolding now that's awesome so why don't we jump in a little bit and can we talk a little bit about lumbo maybe can actually even show it on the screen I can either share my screen you can share your screen present I did not know I can present I love presenting yeah this is screen we got a whole fancy setup here so so let me bring you on stage here hold on there you go let's go so this is just a sneak peek uh lumbo is going to be our aggregation of the relayer the uh the AI side and the wallet of what mbase is so you can mess around with it today uh it's just barely barely live it isn't fully fully announce you can come in here you can execute a swap uh you can mint an nft you can deploy smart contracts you can even let's say create a drop of a man holding a sign that says uh Shard dog so we just also added a drop mechanism where instead of going in uploading an image we can actually create a drop link directly from the AI mechanism so where this guy goes let's see if it fires up quick enough uh so while we're doing that we might as well execute a defi swap as well uh let's say I want to I have 363 black dragon if I want to come into my Ai and say swap 0.03 near for black dragon that can go so here we go I've got my Shard dog uh it generated the image it created the uh link and I can even send this into our thing so then you can send this out to your community and they can go ahead and mint the nft directly on their piece so over here we can see I've built my my transaction right now I have 363 uh let's execute the swap I hit approve unlock obviously using Pass key uh let's go here so 363 and another thing to note is everyone's talking about Ai and blockchain there's very few Ai and blockchain in production that we can mess around with today so this is just sort of the the baby steps so 363 if I hit refresh my swap has been executed uh it went up a bit I think correct uh yeah look like it should yep yep yep 36379 let's see if we can execute some more now with this what model is running behind driving all of this uh so this is the the second plugin 36379 yeah well that didn't execute but let me find you here we are hi so the first one is uh Chacha BT Dolly mint based indexer the second one is a combination of uh of uh rev finance and a few other bits and combos but the the big deal of the Rev Finance uh plugin is that was built uh with open AI specs that one second let me just crank this down that sun is just starting to beam in so it's created using open AI specs so it's the first external AI agent that we were able to build yeah which means now we're getting to a space where we can open it up where other folks can start building their own AI agents right being able to get um uh Pikes Place to be able to create a defi agent or any of the other folks that are participating in the near ecosystem uh to participate and for me that's uh that's the beginning of once we get into the cross chain signatures and being able to on board folks that says okay I'm going to cre create the graph protocol ether scan and maybe a Twitter API agent then they can do that pretty quick and easy they're the ones paying for that sort of data read layer yeah uh and whatever helps build those transactions will give them an actual Kickback uh of potentially a thing that we might be creating so when with chain of abstraction I guess can we dive a little bit deeper in like so I first let's start with like philosophically like why do you feel like that this is an important step for you guys to start integrating uh a lot of things I think where we had some trouble especially moving from eth to near uh we were ahead of the game in in all the different worlds uh on the rable front right we had more users we had more features uh but when we went to near we kind of went onto a bit of an island we had to rebuild everything from scratch we had to help with the the standards we had to do a lot of stuff and uh the new community although great is is quite small and for us being able to access other different groups and partner with other folks and help participate in the transaction building mechanism like we're good friends with the the nosis chain folks and Stefan now we can build Partnerships with them and things that they're doing right and we can uh and it's not hard for us to do once we get the chain signatures running and right now we've got Arbitron nosis chain eth and op signatures working uh but we're waiting on uh the proximity team to get the final um audits done where that then we can ship that to maintenance so on mbased wallet you'll see all your tokens and then you'll see an eth area just as much as all the other tokens you'll be able to transfer using either eth uh or potentially a mint based token if that ever gets created and actually be able to convert a token directly from that to the gas chain relayer to make the transaction happen uh I think that that's that's fascinating I mean imagine being able to go into a prompt and say uh mint a token with this sort of metadata on E nois chain and near all within a single prompt and once we start getting into that world you can't really rely on one single token to do all that right or you can't think that the person's going to run transaction and then send three different types of tokens to do that no right of course not right is that something with that you guys so there's a lot of infrastructure here when you when you say that example right there is the gas relayer there is obviously for you guys it's the AI piece it is some near components are is it Min base's goal to own that entire stack like truly become that verell like you're like you mentioned so you want to have all those pieces or you plan on leveraging other resources for some of that definitely leveraging others as much as possible like I said AI agents being able to use the graph protocol or Pikes Peak to do the the read data layer I mean I think that's where opening up the AI agent world is really GNA come into a good partnership bridging mechanism it's here it is let's uh yeah does that make sense yeah it totally does yeah I is you know we've talked about on previous episodes with other developers and just you know when you comes to actually building a product it it's important to sometimes decide of like how much of the actual product am I going to focus on versus the infrastructure versus both how much do I want to be in control and a lot of people come from small teams maybe they're solo there just a couple people so as they start to build before they grow I think it's so easy to get caught up in like having to have all the infra but I think it's really interesting that you guys are showing that like web 3 especially doesn't have to be like that I feel like it's a web two mindset of like I have to own everything and now I think you guys are showing a nice pathway of like look you can build really Innovative stuff and not have to own the entire stack exactly and that's where templates uh will start coming in uh for us can I do one more screen share to show that let's do so that's where templates comes in right it's the we don't want to be the only ones building these templates we just integrated our first external template the woo nft it's a um WordPress plugin uh but to give you an example of of one of the the more popular ones is minsta uh anybody can go build a template we have a bounties program uh it's basically small pre-built apps that you can plug into this system uh that uses any of the bits of the infrastructure on your protocol whether it's ours or anyone else's um great and it's all that the single oneclick deploy and off you go so where to I know I've showed you this a million times so it's kind of hard because it feels like I'm repeating myself but uh for the audiences out there uh here's what a template looks like it's a uh po app system you can just Fork this onto your own uh hosted site and you put a QR code up and then all of a sudden you have your own activation going obviously it's all AI generated text nearon 23 a blue heart shaped was created from the image uh you have your own leaderboard built in the more people mint the higher up the leaderboard they go so the brilliant part of this is now we can start going to Brand saying let's go ahead and and get this thing up and running yeah very cool very cool so one of the things that comes to mind here with all this AI stuff right is like the re reliability of the AI itself how are you guys approaching that like I saw like we showed you the transaction before it did it then just like execute on its own but what are other mechanisms you guys are thinking about to you know protect against that yeah uh so just kind of like uh when you go into an exchanges and you put in a sloppy number and then some pops up and says hey you idiot why why are you or if something's over let's say 25 bucks or something we can start putting safeguards into the system that basically says are you sure this looks like a pretty intense thing you're trying to do um also on the road mapap is starting to build the fraud protection uh mechanisms and then when we start importing uh other AI agents um that's when we're really going to have to uh dig deep in making sure that uh it's not doing anything that you don't want like let's say Let's Do a Swap and then the reality is the transaction that gets built uh sends half of your funds to someone else so if you go into mint base and you make a transaction you can drill into all of what you're doing right you show what functions you're calling on what contract how much of each different piece you're doing uh we also built an AI agent that explains with human readable text uh what the transaction is that you're trying to do so it's it's weird to say that AI fixes everything but it it it's it kind of is and we know things could could get tricky if we get too far ahead of ourselves uh so sure it's important to take take the time yeah no I I I really appreciate that perspective a one of the things it looks like too that is starting to happen with the way you guys are putting things together and I might just be speculating here but it does feel like though you know you're building some safety into it by wrapping everything into a familiar thing of like your wallet so I'm in my wallet I know this is mine I'm not at some scam link right I'm there and now I'm completing actions through this I'm not necessarily signing into something else that might be a wallet drain or anything else and so feel like that's kind of like secondhand providing safety on its own not just that but we're we're getting into a space we're realizing it's not just one prompt that we need to work with right let's say we click an nft and then we have this nft that you're looking at uh you know do we add all these different features like transfer and and list and or do we put another prompt within that nft view that specifically focuses on this NF what to do you know you can just say list this for two bucks transfer it to Bob near uh do do all those different pieces for sure for sure yeah I mean really really interesting stuff that you guys do I want to well we have some time I want to go back a little bit and just to give people like the more like holistic view of everything so like you have on mbase now is started with a lot of nfts you still do all the nft stuff uh you have a concept of stores on there is is all of that stuff still part of this bigger picture or do you start to feel like okay some of those things need to kind of go on the back burner a little bit right now it's about so again the mbased white paper in 2020 it focuses on digital assets I really feel like that's still a massive thing that I want to tackle uh I I think it's I just think the day that we can start seeing uh let's see it's it's a core piece to my heart let's say that I've been grinding away at this sort of digital ticketing thing since since 2018 and it feels like we finally have the infrastructure of all of what we can do with that yeah but then all of a sudden it's like wow now we can do these 40 other things how do we how do we keep that focused and I'm not going to say 100% that I have the answer for you because to me it's we're building in a way that feels right with what we're doing each day and it kind of gets to the point of like well we figured out that this was really easy to do which allows us to do these 15 other things so I I think that's that's the answer uh I'm hoping we get to a space where all of a sudden the original Vision kind of comes into the aha moment like let's look at like templates right and we look at ticketing so how do we how do we tackle ticketing and where do we think ticketing is going to be in the future to me it's going to be 30 or 40 either different components or different companies all helping in the process of a single stadium seat you know solution it's going to be different companies or components are going to be just figuring out the minting and issuing system that could be a template within mint base it could be the redeeming mechanism at the door is one specific component or company uh and it's just going to be all these different elements that are going to be plugging in you know secondary markets popping up that's a that's a template or that's that's an AI agent that helps you know create uh inventory upload mechanisms right give us lvmh's uh fall 2024 fashion uh lineup and being able to you know Mass mint all of their different uh pieces and then being able to go into chatu BT and saying communicating what you want to purchase just by saying in the fall of fashion show uh I want to buy that red handbag you know by the third model like right that's that's where things are are are working and let's say you want to do all that but you have to buy UCSD to do that you can go to the prompt that says swap 10 near or 10 Bitcoin for UCSD I mean this is where the prompt mechanism really sort of shines it's like mint an nft List It transfer one to Bob you know you can do all these sort of stepbystep procedures yeah without sort of fumbling around and then all of a sudden you're swamping in the exact same mechanism it's just uh I think we're getting to that original Vision um and then all these things that we're building the shiny objects are going to come together into its own one I I yeah instantly comes to mind I I I love the thought of like how the interaction as a user using prompts really changes things because as soon as you said like you know trying to do all these different activities it's like yeah right now if you ask someone to do that like you're G to give them a hundred different steps you have to like you know they're probably going to get lost but now just using natural language I can say like what I want to do and you know and pull all those pieces together it really starts to change the entire landscape of like you know interaction and once you start getting into the multi-step processes within single prompts uh I think that's that's also fascinating you know deploy a smart contract meant to pick picture of a frog listed for five near and send one to Bob in a single prompt payload is uh is really not that far away yeah no that's it's a really it's a really cool concept uh I'd love to Pivot just a little bit here so as is being a developer focused show and you are a serious developer you are not just a a business owner you're not just a Founder uh you come from deep developer Roots but you've now built up something that is truly a business and you've truly you've raised money you've done all the different things and gone through the scope how has that you know being a developer first both I guess maybe informed some of the decisions long term but also maybe kind of like caused some pitfalls for you sure okay so where are we at in blockchain right you look at the early 2000s what were the big companies that were built uh you have Google all engineer Founders you've got Microsoft engineer Founders uh you've got Facebook uh engineer founder Myspace was all business development from the top down right they made a lot of terrible decisions building a company in the early 2000s you had to be a hardcore engineer to figure out this world we're making decisions every day who should we partner with what should we spend developer time on how should we go to go to market like all these different things are are critical every day something really complicated is popping up and how do we not just like focus on these different I think blockchain is in the same space as the early 2000s where I mean if you want to build a web 2 company right now you could be an Instagram Guru you know you don't need engineering chops there's so much Cloud infrastructure everyone understands you know how S3 buckets work I guess at this point it's uh but blockchain is just such a beast so for me engineering focus at the top is is critical to get through this uh where have we failed uh yeah go to market is not my expertise you know I don't like wasting money on on things I don't we don't go to conferences I think I've gone to like two conferences this year uh I think that it's time to go to market I really don't even think M should have gone to Market until now what are we going to do say we're another secondary nft Marketplace near it's not that exciting right right uh but now I feel like we've kind of held out we still have four and a half million in the bank we have raised eight and a half million uh since we've been alive since 2018 uh we've only cranked through four and a half million uh and for me we've weathered bare markets uh stable collapses exchange collapses we don't gamble with with people's funds uh We've managed the capital really well but now I need to step out of my engineer world and really sort of Hit the hit hit the world but what's fascinating is now we can have access to the world right we can put mint based drops in Instagram stories because they don't need to download and install metamask or some plugin you know they can just load up the nft directly uh so for me it's it's patience right it's extreme patience knowing when we should really put the pedal to the metal and and throttle that that go to market yeah how hard was that for you as a developer to start to give up some of that control of actually building and kind of go more into like the businesses parts of it well it's definitely hard I mean you know some sometimes I mean the team is awesome they're they're cranking every day they're just throttling really hard but sometimes you see a lot of bugs and you kind of go ah I wish I was the one who you know was able to do that and then but there's nothing you can do so you gotta like just you gotta breathe and sometimes I get in there and fix a thing but the the reality is is the team is building a lot right we have so many so many pieces and when people complain about the Minas wallet sometimes it's like I look at it as uh okay here's the human population before the mint base wallet we could really only affect the people who had near which is this tiny weird little small sliver of human now that we're paying for the Relay transactions and uh you know people don't need to install apps and do all that sort of stuff now we're doing this whole piie yeah Windows users couldn't you know claim nfts you know but at least this is still a pretty big piie we fixed the the Windows issue uh that we had previously but it's uh it's it's a process I hope that answer your question was it was the original question no just I think that the transition overall like as a a developer founder of like you know when you start to I think give up control it's hard um I've been through that in the past I know it's been hard for myself sometimes to you think like product for you're trying to build first right I wna I want to build something I want to feel tangible um that's the way you know how to contribute then to all of a sudden give that control to somebody else you know as great as they may be sometimes it's a little bit hard to get out of that mindset of like I need to be the one building this all the time I I'll tell you what though uh the day I just basically looked at microchip and said just build whatever you want that was one of the best days of mint bases history so we were we were trying to manage micro for a while you know getting him to like focus on the the devil side and developer onboarding and stuff I I don't think that he was that excited about yeah and he just kind of we just like relinquished we're like do whatever you want micro and that's when he it's like okay great going to build a Chachi BT plugin you know then we're going to you know build out all this other infrastructure of what we know of today so to me like taking away that like like releasing that control sometimes and then you have magic stuff just pop up that's the space that we're in right now so yeah how was or how has been the hiring process in finding developers is this something where you guys are are going for like Value First and like how making sure that someone aligns with what M base does is it certain technical skills you look for it's extremely natural so we have 15 employees total including myself we're 90% engineering that tells you you know our go to market Focus uh which we'll be we'll be shifting that uh very shortly uh it's uh it's extremely natural um I think only one person has quit uh and that was because metamask tripled his salary and we couldn't compete um it's really a group of people who really understand you know we're doing something special and we're just cranking every day to get this thing across the line so we're not hiring a lot like it's been pretty much the core team you know luish was our third hire second hire uh when we did our seed round right and he brought in Santiago you know and then he's he's around and who's doing our Tech lead stuff and it's just kind of grown from from uh from friends of friends so I think yeah 70% of us are Portuguese are are from Portugal and then uh yeah that's awesome I you know it I think one of the things that I will say just as an outsider you guys have really been careful throughout the years to to keep your vision and to make sure that you were sticking to what you felt least like the white paper in your ethos has been because there probably have been opportunities where you maybe could have deviated to try to jump on a trend or whatever else but it seems like you know having faith in that path has taken you to a really great place now and hopefully now in the future yeah let's just say if you know we've been hit by the US tax authorities uh they looked into us and said great you guys aren't doing any like bot scamming you guys aren't doing any like uh Shady you know paying there's so much Shady stuff in the nft world like the one thing that we have never done is we've never paid an artist because what every platform does is a big artist comes on board and then they promise them like you know a thousand cells at $100 a piece you know so then what do you do everyone rants on Twitter oh my God my thing's s out you know things are pumping and then retail comes in and they get squashed like that we've never done that um we've never pushed we've never botted we've never uh we are not and and that's that's hard too because everyone else Bots and does these things so it looks like we're not doing as well as a lot of other people the reality is we have that nice steady slow growth that's you know here for the long term so it's a it's a it's a double-edged sword for for sure for sure uh well I listen I you know I really appreciate you taking the time uh you guys are really doing a lot of awesome stuff I encourage people to you know keep following along check uh you know I want to highlight a couple different things that are happening in the ecosystem just in general so uh let's start here though with the Tweet of the week and I'm GNA pull that up here let's see let's show this in the all right TI this and all right so let's present all right so uh I'm going to do a Shameless self-promotion here I'm going to actually use myself as a tweet of the week and the reason why I want to highlight this is not actually because of what I necessarily wrote but I want to talk about something that A change is happening to near protocol that I think as a developer should be exciting to you uh it's something that uh I think really starts to change the landscape of how you could possibly build and part of that right away is something that is called yielded execution so if you come from web 2 one of the things that is really obvious right is that you can set up something where I make a call to an API I need to wait for that response I then need to do something else after that and leverage the different pieces on a blockchain it's a little bit harder to do because again the changes is the blocks are continuing to move uh so execution happens right away uh you can use different callbacks you can do different things in there that start to allow you to maybe you know kind of as a workaround we'll call it to have some that similar type of EXP experience it's not quite the same and it does add some limitations to a developer of what you can actually start to do but with this latest near enhancement uh proposal that was just passed uh it's all around yielded execution and what that really means is that uh you can actually set up something where the call can actually now wait for the the other calls to finish so you can have a cross contract call you're waiting for further data you can wait for all of that to finish you know and what it does is now you can actually uh wait and have the task finished you move on and now you're doing the next thing and it makes your life more simple to actually put these together uh you'll see an immediate benefit if you're building like chain abstractions so just stuff Nate was just talking about right if you need to do these cross chain cross contract calls you can actually again you can wait you don't have to do callbacks I know this has been something that's come up in different chats things like that so we want to be able to pull um all of those things together there also you know one of the things that it's important to see if you're building on near is that a lot of the infrastructure is moving towards things that are similar to web 2 we talked about that again just now with Nate right similar to web to but give you the opportunity of more of that open web so whereas mint base is you know using the example of versel which is a web 2 product what they're trying to do yet you know Nate made sure to highlight look we're trying to use other resources as much as we can and in doing so it's going to give us a benefit right it's going to allow us to get to where we want to go much more efficiently and much faster and we don't have to own the entire stack and that's really cool to see because that's what allows you to eventually rapidly accelerate your development something that's a little bit harder on web 2 sometimes because people sometimes do feel the need to own different parts of it or in like web 2 if you are you know using other services to then do that you at the risk of them shutting down uh going away whatever that might be and so it makes a little bit of a a disconnect well here the more you start to see some of these options here on near uh that we can actually go and do that so uh this was the the the Tweet here this has to do with uh NEP 519 uh again if you get an opportunity please make sure that you know uh you take some time here and uh read through it uh it's everything is on uh GitHub so I'm going to let me link to that show you that because again the changes is the blocks are continuing to move uh so execution happens right away uh you
