{"id":"13YcDKlbru0","title":"Why Build on NEAR Protocol?","description":"NEAR’s co-founder gives his short pitch on why founders and developers should consider building their projects on NEAR Protocol.\n\nNEAR Protocol is designed to be simple, secure, and scalable. So scalable, in fact, that the goal for the ecosystem is to reach a billion users in its first five years. In this short video, NEAR Co-Founder Illia Polosukhin unpacks what sets NEAR apart and why it’s the best choice for anyone building in Web3 today.\n\nOne billion users is a lot of people––far more than are using all blockchains combined today in 2022. How will NEAR support mainstream adoption? The tech has to be easy for everyone to use and easy for engineers to build on. It has to be secure and stable at the network level, decentralized via Proof-of-Stake, and it has to keep individual users secure, too. \n\nFinally, it has to be able to handle millions of applications. NEAR does this through sharding, or parallelizing computation by running many machines in parallel––but in a way that works entirely in the background, so the scalability solution is entirely invisible to users and app builders. NEAR and its ecosystem are also certified carbon neutral by Southpole Global.\n\nIf you’re looking for a very short introduction to how NEAR works or are exploring options for your integration or application, start here.\n\nJoin NEAR's community:\nWebsite: https://near.org/\nReddit:   / nearprotocol  \nDiscord: https://near.chat/\nMedium:   / nearprotocol  \nBlog: launch it ideally less than one day probably in an hour I'm I'm don't have that much time sadly and so to do that you know we build a lot of tooling but most importantly we've you know support rust which is you know most loved language and actually is pretty easy to develop and then you get a hang of it and we have a JavaScript support which means you can actually launch any general JavaScript
