Happy Friday. It's been a week between the town hall with the live stream and the two NEAR AI product releases. The nice thing about these product releases is that they're immediately available to you, the end user. We relayed feedback from the Legion community on adding in a NEAR account log in to the product, but as of now, with just your email or GitHub login, you're free to benefit from fully private chat with an LLM. Over time, more LLMs will be added, enabling better intelligence for you and you alone. Our first story today is about how one company is building the AI model to solve all disease. Isomorphic labs, a company backed by Alphabet and DeepMind, is building the closest thing to medical artificial superintelligence. ASI will soon be able to understand biology, disease, aging, and the human body at a depth far better than any doctor, researcher or big institution. Now, when that happens is the million dollar question. But for now, what we can see is many companies are trying to work towards this vision as they write. We're imagining the entire drug discovery process from first principles with an AI first approach. Isomorphic labs has raised $600 million to build a unified drug design engine for a new era of discovery. We'll be following them closely in the coming months to years. Our second story today touches on the age old debate of open source models versus closed source frontier models. Eric Schmidt says China has made the inverse decision to open source its AI models. The Chinese approach to reaching ASI is to chip away at highly sophisticated, specialized open source models. Instead of trying to build massively gigantic closed source frontier models. It's an interesting paradigm considering the West is supposed to be open and free, yet building closed source and data harvesting looms. While the East, usually known to be more centralizing control, is building open source models at minimal cost to access. Give the video clip a watch, and don't be surprised. In the coming 5 to 10 years if hundreds of thousands of new models emerge, tackling even the most minute of use cases. Thanks for tuning in. We'll do this all again real soon.","transcript_synced_at":"2026-11-03T04:46:26.274Z","segments":[{"start_seconds":0,"text":"Good morning Legion.
